This is the Chinese I grew up on. My family never ordered from anywhere else. The fried rice is the best I've ever had and the Szechuan chicken is to die for. They also have the almond cookies at the counter that you can purchase for less than a dollar per bag (3 in each bag) and those are SOOOOOOOO good! Very great prices for lunch combos!

This is my favorite Chinese takeout place. Sweet and sour chicken is excellent. Crab Cheese is my favorite!! Lo mein is great as well. The staff is always super sweet and friendly. I recommend this place to anyone in the area. The food isn't too greasy and has amazing flavor.

My family decided to try after all the reviews. I am Soooo disappointed! The garlic chicken I got had almost no flavor.. The fried rice was about the same, very lacking in flavor and dry. I just don't get it unless they were having a really bad day or the other reviews were forged... Either way my family will not be returning.

I went there today and I took a bite of my food and felt something hard. Spit it out and found a small black piece of rubber/plastic! Don't know if I'll be going back after this.

Chicken lo-mein? General's chicken? Fried rice? ALL good! It's like that frequented place on The Big Bang Theory. This would be MY frequented place. :-)

Beyond amazing food for amazing prices. Every time my fiance and I go we usually spend like $50 and have leftovers for a couple of days. We order like 6 different kinds of food to share. Always friendly and quick with great hot food too bad they're not a buffet.

YUMMMM! I love their chicken chow mein *minus veggies* and their fried rice is amazing!!!! I also like their general chicken. Egg drop soup is good, but the fried noodles they give you to put in it-always taste kind of stale. But IDC because the lunch is only $5!

I ordered food twice from here in the last two weeks and while I still have mixed feelings, I would say that overall, it's pretty dang good. The first time, my family ordered the shrimp in lobster sauce, kung pao chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. My mom said the shrimp was a litle bland, but she would order it again. I had the sweet and sour chicken, but found the sauce to have a strange taste. To be honest, it tasted like cherry kool aid. I didn't get any review from my dad on the kung pao ,but I'm assuming it's awesome because he ate the whole thing... I also tried some of the wonton soup. It was okay, but nothing like from my old favorite Chinese place (which apparently has violated several health codes.... sigh). The broth was a little off, almost had a sour/acidic taste to it. But hey, for $2, I can't complain. Last weekend, my boyfriend and I were craving some general tsao's chicken, so we ordered that, fried rice, and a couple egg rolls. What I really like about this place is that each item comes with white rice and you can upgrade to fried rice for $1. We shared the quart size and had plenty of left overs. The egg rolls were great, too, though I wish I had ordered a couple more! I'd love to give the place 5 stars, but the few items that were lacking in flavor are putting me off. But, I know that I will be a faithful customer here :)

this place was not only phenomenal, it was cheap too! located at the corner of Lapeer and Center, in the Target complex, over by the Blockbuster, back in the corner (2nd or 3rd storefront from center road). big red "China 1" sign on building. hard to spot from road, but once in front of blockbuster you can see it. I especially liked that you could see them making your food in front of you. many places hide back in the kitchen behind a wall or something, not here. they make your food right there in front of you in their giant woks. also, the owners talked to you as they were making it, even if they were busy. the food was delicious. they even put the to-go stuff in an aluminum tin rather than stale styrofoam or paper containers like others do. new york style indeed! this is definately on our list of places to continue eating at because they are just that awesome. totally 5 star material!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
