on 8/915 when we came it it was slow,we sat down i heard the man behind me say worse meal ever.We had been there before great service good food.Well first off waitress was very friendly, out of root beer, ice tea and lemons.ordered dinner.I asked for a tossed salad with bleu cheese. She overflowed the coffee machine and being flustered brought coleslaw instead,no big deal.benefit of the doubt.Dinner came fish and fries underdone.I called over the waitress and said it needed to be cooked more, just kinda stood there then took it back.It came out again missing a piece of fish.Chris asked her where it was,she went back and came out and said the cook was sending it out.Chris ordered a burger egg was a little runny and meat had a little pink in it.I figured since the waitress didnt ask it would be cooke w/done.The bun fell apart it was not toasted like advertised,it fell apart ,the top of his fries were cooked the lower ones raw.No refills and the waitress never came back to ask about the food only to give the bill.29.00 at a coney for f/chips and a burger w/fries 2 non refilled sodas at 2.05 each. You asked why he didnt bring it to her attention on the burger, between the 2 of us we have 50 years in kitchens and we figured we didnt want the return off the floor special after already complainning. You did not call me back so I posted this ,I also posted it on Yelp.If you dont care about your customer base keep up the poor running of the restaurant .The mural being painted will look great with a closed sign on the door. THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE AT CAPITOL CONEY ISLAND IN FLINT,ON VAN SLYKE ROAD.

Fun place and open late night!! I got the corn flake chicken which was a childhood favorite. It met my expectations and then some. I was very happy! Plan to go back!

I loved it. The best coney I've had in Flint. I love Flint-style coneys. I like them with a coke. I like that Capitol is big, bright and super clean (unlike some of the older more famous joints). Super friendly service AND they sell lotto tickets.

I personally love this place! The interior is nice and so is the staff! My fiancé and I always order the mozzarella sticks (made with cool ranch Doritos), cornflake chicken , and one of the speciality cupcakes ! The place is clean and the food is always freshly made . I've never had a problem here and I've been here well over ten times ! Carlee is super nice and a great waitress :)! Every waitress I've had so far has been wonderful! Love it here :) I think this is one of the nicer Coney Island places around flint and they are open 24 hours too!

My food was delicious. Basically a bunch of stoner concoctions. Waitresses are slow bozos. I would suggest this place if your really hungry or late night snacking.

Love the French toast here. It's so simple, yet so good. I wish they had an add on meal to the full stack of French toast. Like hash browns and sausage. Last time we were here they remodeled and took out all the booth and made it more diner like, just tables and chairs. Much better than before. The staff is always friendly with my family of 4. No matter how much food ends up on the floor with our little kids.

An old favoriite doesn't disappoint. The Waitstaff was happy an old Michigander who now lives in California had come back home for a Coney. Had great time talking with them and The Coney's Flint Style were just about as i remembered them. Clean, polite, and affordable. Thank you ladies, and Chef! Looks like they newly remodeled. Best Regards!

Their motto should be: "Hey, it's late" Rolled into Flint Town late last summer and shacked up at the hotel down the street. 2am rolls around and we want some eats. Now I'm from Flint but my travel companion was not so I thought this was the perfect time to show them A: a proper Flint coney and B: Coney Island nightlife after 2am on a Friday. BAM! walked in, checked the unchanged decor form yesteryear, slid up to the counter and ordered up 2 with mustard and onions and waited for the magic. Watched my friend's face full of awe as they said "So this is Flint?" My response: "Damn right". Coneys arrived, scarfed 'em down, tipped our server and rolled on out. Done! No fuss, no wait, no window dressing. Not the best coney in town but then again they're all pretty damn good so no worries.

Pretty good food overall. Their Flint-style coney is great. Hot hamburger (with mashed potatoes and gravy over the whole mess) is in second place. One of the only 24-hour joints left in this hell hole of a town.

This is a great traditional Coney Island. They are open 24 hours and serve breakfast all day. The place is clean and the staff is friendly plus they have a nice menu with a variety of different dishes. Their omelets are huge and of course their Coney's rock.

So our folks asked us to grab them something on the run, we're on that side of town so we stopped by Capitol for some takeout. They wanted burgers and fries seemed like a natural choice. We order four burgers and one side of fries. We end up getting four combo meals and wondered why the staff didn't say anything when we ordered. It was $26 for the 4 combos, very pricey for the food we got. We questioned the gal about the combos, she said that's just the way they come...... to which we were surprised that she didn't tell us when we were ordering. So we give her $30 at the register and she tells us she can't make change and we're looking at her like you're crazy you're at a cash register.... The burgers were bad the fries were soggy and it really put the icing on the cake that the waitress decided to give herself a $4 tip. Needless to say we won't be back and we made sure to tell all of our friends and family who live in the area. Same trip the following weekend we went to Ambassador on Hill Road, $18 for 4 burgers and 1 fry....and our folks loved it.

Was talked into trying the ultimate grilled cheese. I had bacon added. Hand down the best I've had in and around flint. The different cheeses and the parm added to the outside was awesome

Stopped by for a quick lunch as I had business in the area. Clean and bright with good food. Service is average. Nice atmosphere.

Great place for an early (or really really late) meal. As far as 24 hours joints go this place is top notch, clean and friendly. The omelettes are very large and the home potato's are giant chucks and well seasoned, though a little too salty for me. The food here is decent, but certainly not amazing, the service is prompt and attentive, and the entire restaurant is up to date and clean.

I stopped into the Capitol with a big group, with four kids. We needed a kid friendly place, but also nice enough to satisfy all the adults in the group as well. We hit a home run with this place. They serve breakfast all day, and all the kids were into pancakes and waffles. Plus they have the regular kids stuff like mac and cheese, hamburgers, grilled cheese, etc. Of the six adults, three of us got breakfast items (omelettes) and three got coneys. My husband is obsessed with Flint vs Detroit coneys, so he was thrilled to get Flint coneys and said they were amazing. Our 10 month old also enjoyed some of the coney sauce. I got an omelette which was great and filling (three eggs versus the normal two I think). The only issue was I had asked for egg whites, but since we were such a big group I think the waitress lost some of our things we had requested. It was no big deal I think every thing else was right. We don't go up to Flint as much as we used to, but we'll definitely be back to this place if we're looking for a meal in the area!

Came in on a Sunday afternoon and it was super quiet. Wait staff was nice. Service was fast. Food is just fine and what you pay for. The interior is pretty neat, but jeesh it was really cold inside! It's a good little diner.. just not very cozy.

Average for what you expect. nothing special. very loud. Had to try it. Probably won't go back again. The service is good. It was very busy and packed when there.

The absolute worst bowl of mac n' cheese one can imagine. Sloppy noodles covered in cheese whiz is more like it. The turkey club is another sad affair....processed cheese, luncheon meat....really? Staff is okay, the interior is really neat, but the whole place is really "off." The best part was leaving!

The worst Mac n cheese and Turkey club I can ever recall. The staff is friendly and interior is nice.

Very good Flint Coney Island. Breakfast was good. Had the steak omelette and fajita omelette, both were top notch. Coffee was good. I recommend having the hash browns deep fried, if you're into that sort of thing. Apparently, my girl said the toast was buttered perfectly; whatever that means. It's a little odd on the decor, more like a Harley Bar with black and metal, but it fits the industrial area it's in.
