Come in here for lunch quite often. Thought I had reviewed this place already, but apparently not. Went in today and tried the patty melt off the special menu. I was a little hesitant about a patty melt with thousand island dressing on it, but it definitely worked. It was one of the better patty melts I've ever had. Burgers are always tasty. Salads are good and decent portion. They've often got great specials, too. Today, some of the appetizers were 2-for-1 and I know on another day (I think Thursday) it's $6 burgers - but don't quote me on that. Regardless, the service is always good. The prices are reasonable. The food is delicious. My only complaint would be that the atmosphere is a little bit sterile. Other than that...great place.

I was really looking forward to coming here with all these rave reviews! Walked into this place on a Monday night and it was PACKED! I still can't believe this place used to be a Happy's Pizza.The menu seems pretty diverse, lots of good options to choose from for reasonable prices. Spoiler- I didn't just get a burger, even though now I wish I would have! Honestly, the food was "eh", the service seemed busy and didn't pay much attention to us and the atmosphere was pretty bland. Not the first impression I was hoping for from Peterlin's. Maybe I'll just have to come back more often to take advantage of the great specials they have!

So, in my last review several months back I said I was on the fence between 2 & 3 stars...I gave the nudge to this place at that time...by whatever circumstances, I find myself here again, but this time Peterlin's gets 2 or less stars...mostly for repeat mistakes! So I arrived for dinner and walked into the bar area, first impression, the lighting is awful. Recessed spot-lights in the ceiling are the primary light source, it is extremely cold feeling, its the type of lighting you would see get turned on during last call or when the power goes out and the emergency generator lights kick on. Without ambiance, its really a cold experience! Next thing you notice, how slow the service is...come on the place was far less than 40% capacity, why can't one of the people standing around, help out? Next up...the menu! Along with the regular menu, they give you a piece of paper with the specials on it, like my previous complaint, the font is centered, there are no separating lines or breaks from one item to another, so its a big run on page of confusion. On top of that the font size is somewhere in the 9 to 11 range, im thinking he used about a 10 font in order to fit all the specials on this paper. I posted a copy of it, taken under the crappy lighting I mentioned. Another thing on the menu, both the regular and the specials menu, the prices are really high for a place like this, it really shows how out of touch they are. The 8 oz sirloin steak like the last visit, was still listed as $21...if you think about that for a second, it dawns on you that this place believes that $42 a pound for a sirloin steak is OK, uhm its not! The rest of the menu really follows suit with this pricing scheme, with the exception of some burger specials perhaps. Our server was really nice, but nice wasn't filling the glasses, nice wasn't getting the table cleared, or the check any faster. My opinion is, this place is in need of some good management and possibly menu analysis and a better pricing strategy! They are certainly appealing to people who seemingly have no other nearby options, but I am in the opinion that they are chasing away or otherwise missing out on a potential market that would go beyond just sustaining this place, and take it to much higher profits! This is not a place I would recommend in good conscious based on the things I mention, the people I've spoken with that have been here agree and wouldn't return either.

Came in on Friday night a little after 7, it was busy but we were seated right away by a very polite and friendly hostess. And that's pretty much where the good service ended. It took a while for a server to approach us to see if we'd been helped yet, I always thought servers had designated areas so I think she was just not paying attention. Once we ordered it took at least a full inning of the tigers game for our food to be brought to us. Drinks were never refilled, or even offered to be refilled. The food was okay, for the price I could've just gone to Panera. I'd like to say the servers were busy helping other guest, and a good portion were, but unfortunately I could see the rest( my server included) standing talking to each other. Also it took forever to get the bill. I'd probably go back if there was a zombie apocalypse and they were the last establishment with a working refrigeration system.

We went on a Saturday early evening- not too busy when we arrived- service was great. The food is good but pricey. There's pricey and it's worth it due to incredible quality and portion... Not here. $ 11 for a patty melt / fries. The patty melt was average. It wasn't the best ( sandys on the beach) and it wasn't the worst but it wasn't worth $11. Hubs had the meatloaf sandwich and same thing- although he didn't care for the meatloaf at all- lacking flavor and a mushy texture- the red sangria was good, but the white one is very sweet and peachy- the mushroom soup was tasty but very salty- we will return to try other options- they seem to have a good happy hour

I love this place. The food is always good though the last time I came in I was craving a pork dish I've had many times (it was so good that when I dropped leftovers on the floor at home I cut off the floor side & still ate it) & they changed their menu & they no longer have it. Their new menu is smaller & there wasn't a specials menu which is what I often order off of so that was a bit of a bummer. I really like their side salad & they have a large dressing list & my fave is the sweet vidalia. The service here is good, staff are very friendly & the prices are on the high side of reasonable but for me I always have leftovers so I don't mind spending a little extra! I don't know if they've updated things yet but their hours posted were wrong the last time I checked...twice I got there at 9:30 & was planning on dinner & drinks after as their site & door said they were open until 11:00 & they actually closed at 10:00. I also recently found out they aren't open on Sunday (which was a disappointment when I pulled in) but I wish they at least offered a Sunday brunch.

Easily one of the best bar burgers around. This place has really grown on me and I have yet to be disappointed by the food or the service. I make it in here at least ever couple weeks although I think I'm going to hit the $6 Burger lunch up today even though I was in yesterday. My go to, their Black & Bleu Burger....it's close to a 3/8"+ thick patty, on a killer bun with fresh produce (we're talking really pretty tomatoes, fresh red onion and crisp lettuce) and a healthy serving of bacon (on request) and bleu cheese. It comes with a pickle and their in-house made potato chips, which are nothing to scoff at...thick and crispy, and if you get the Pub Chips app you'll find them covered in a heap of good stuff (the Pub Chips are pretty awesome!). Yesterday I had their Patty Melt on buttery, griddled, marbled rye a juicy patty and 1000 Island which took my melt to a happy place I haven't been before. The Cuban is solid and their Chicken Finger wrap is really good too. Their specials always sound great. Their soups are always satisfying and the service is always friendly, fast and pretty much perfect. If you haven't been I'd definitely recommend Pete's. I'm a fan and they've turned me into a regular.

I haven't been super crazy on my previous visits, I had the fish & chips on this visit. It was CRAZY good!! It was so good, I don't think I will be able to try anything else here for a while. I try to eat local and Peterlin's is one of the best reasons to ditch those chains and put money into our local economy! As soon as you walk in, you get that homey feeling! There is ample seating so you almost never need to wait for a table. They also offer a happy hour, a gluten free menu, and a wide variety of entrees, from steak to salmon, to pasta, to amazing salads! The prices are reasonable and you'll definitely need a doggy bag when it's time to leave.

I'm so glad we gave Peterlin's another chance! We were invited to a 50th birthday party and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food so we went back a few weeks later and we were very impressed! Service was fantastic. I guess they worked the kinks out and they've been doing very well since they expanded into the space next door. I had the Southwest Wrap and it was delicious and David loved the Bourbon Burger and we both really enjoyed our dinner. Matter a fact, we ended up going again two nights in a row!

It's almost shocking how unpleasant my most recent experience at Peterlin's was. I live and work in Farmington Hills and enjoy eating out. I have visited Peterlin's on many occasions and had always been satisfied with the food, service and overall experience. However, when I visited for happy hour with a friend recently we were treated disrespectfully by the OWNER himself! We ordered beer and appetizers from their "buy one get one" happy hour special. Our bruschetta arrived as it typically does - a big full plate, but we were only given three chicken tenders. This wouldn't have been a deal breaker by any means, I simply asked our server if this was the normal portion. He admitted that it was not, that a typical appetizer should have had at least twice as much chicken. I laughed because I couldn't believe that when they offered half off the price, they also thought that meant half the portion! What makes this review turn into a Kitchen Nightmares-esque story is that our server relayed our amusement to the manager who in turn told the owner. Again - we were enjoying our beer and normal portion of bruschetta (we even cut a chicken tender in half so we each had the same amount of food), but when a very large and imposing man came to our table and leaned against my side of the booth (essentially "pinning" me in) I was instantly taken aback by the arrogance of his stature. He was irritated that I had pointed out that half off typically means the price - its an incentive for customers to stop in - its not meant as an excuse for the kitchen to be thrifty. The one star review is absolutely based on the owner's demeanor at our table-side. He argued with me, and asked me why he should give food away, because it is still costing them. I was so put off by his tone, stance and behavior that I wasn't comfortable in the restaurant. Our waiter came back a few minutes later with a plate holding one additional chicken tender, but we were so disgusted that we just asked for our check. I say this frequently in my reviews, but there are too many options in this area to remain somewhere that is sub-par. The food isn't terrible, and our server was amazingly patient. He apologized for Zach's brutish attitude and said that he frequently upsets guests by arguing with them about the taste of his food. It is one thing to take pride in your cooking, but its not okay to treat people so disrespectfully. To his credit, our entire meal was comped (which we did not ask for), so we left what we would have spent on the food to our waiter. I realize that when you open your own restaurant you are allowed to do whatever you want. But if Zach cannot listen to reasonable and legitimate questions from guests (who feel like advertising "buy one get one free" should mean what it says) he should stay in the kitchen and save his staff the trouble of having to apologize for him and ultimately giving away free food. I've never felt so uncomfortable and treated so terribly by a business I was patronizing before. Such a shame.

Was visiting family in Ann Arbor in July and came to listen to Benny (of Benny and the Jets, also my cousin). The food was delicious. We had a large group of 12 and so I saw quite a few dinner options and everyone enjoyed their meal. It all seems very tasty and presented well. It is worth the visit!

We stumbled into this place by chance, but I was super excited to find out they had a separate gluten free menu and gluten free beer and cider options! The Asian salmon salad was great, good flavors and not fishy. But the chicken Chardonnay was amazing, Sooo creamy and delicious with perfectly cooked veggies too. Plus, the beer was $5 and happy hour 3-6pm means vodka tonic was only $3! We will definitely be back with friends!

The food at Peterlin's is always solid (although personally I prefer this place for lunch or pre-dinner appetizers and drinks -- generally the place attracts an older crowd). It's home-cooked food at its finest and it's so nice that there's a local joint where you can enjoy top-notch food when you don't feel like cooking for yourself. But in my opinion, the awesomeness ends there. (Note: if I were rating on food alone, this place would get 4 stars!) The service is unfortunately hit-or-miss (from what we've experienced in our four visits thus far). The servers are generally very sweet but don't move all that quickly (and unfortunately aren't very well-versed with the beer list, which is a bummer). We like to drink here on occasion but find it frustrating when we'd be better suited to get up from our table and check out the tap offerings ourselves instead of checking with our server in the dining room. My suggestion: it's worth checking out at least once (and bare minimum, go to check out the food) -- the place is always packed! Just keep your expectations low with regard to server knowledge and attention.

I had heard some chatter that since the expansion, Peterlin's had gone downhill. A couple people guessed that either the chef or management had changed, and some others thought that they might not be able to handle the expansion of the seating area. Either way, I refused to believe it. Sadly, the chatter was correct. I suggested we go here when the in-laws were in town because it has always been our go-to favorite place. It was sort of busy when we were there, but there was a ton of wait stuff running around (it looked like 4 waitresses and 2-3 bus boys on our side of the restaurant). It took forever to get our order in and then to get our drinks. They were out of what I ordered (prosecco) so offered a substitute. I asked if it was similar to the prosecco, a very dry sparkling white, and was told it was. Nope! It was super sweet. Like nauseatingly sweet. I looked at the mini bottle and it was "dolce" (Italian for sweet) asti (an already inherently sweet sparkling wine). I ordered a glass of red wine instead, which was better, but at this point we were done with our salads and part way through the main course. The salads came out pretty quickly after we ordered, and at this point we've been in the restaurant for probably close to 25 minutes. No silverware yet. We had our salads for 10 minutes before silverware was brought out (now 35 minutes into being there). We were told that there wasn't any ready until that point. The main courses came, and my husband's steak was a noticeably different quality than it used to be and more expensive (all the prices have gone up). His green beans were cold. Like taken out of the refrigerator cold. The steak was at least hot and cooked to the right temp, but the fries were burnt and crusty. The in-laws said their salad and shrimp scampi were good, but the shrimp remained uneaten on the plate, so I don't know if I believe their representations. I ordered my go-to, the macaroni and cheese, which was a noticeably smaller portion. The sauce, instead of being smooth, was sort of gritty. Not sand gritty, but like day-old reheated sauce gritty or broken cream gritty. I was hungry, so I ate it, and it wasn't terrible but it wasn't the delicious plate of food that I'm used to getting at Peterlin's. I also noticed that the manager lady who has always been there, running a tight ship and being really hands-on with the customers, wasn't there. I don't know if she was off or if she left, but please, please come back! I don't know when, or if, we'll be back, but I hope Peterlin's gets it together so this can once again be our go-to spot.

Stopped in yesterday for a birthday dinner since we were in Farmington. Definitely glad we did because we had a fantastic experience. We were fortunate enough to catch happy hour. This allowed us to get two beers and two appetizers for only $12 - what a steal. We ordered the Southwest Chicken Eggrolls. Super good and highly recommended. We also ordered Pub Chips, which were also a great choice. Entrees didn't disappoint either. I ordered the meatloaf and my partner ordered a chicken wrap. We agreed that both were delicious. My meal came with a small salad, garlic mashed potatoes, and corn. Salad was good and I enjoyed their Italian dressing. Potatoes weren't garlic-y, and oddly tasted like vanilla ice cream, but I still enjoyed them. Corn tasted like, well, corn. Partner swapped out Pub Chips that came with her wrap for a salad, which she liked. Since it was my birthday, we ordered a Fudge Brownie Sundae (on the house, and they didn't even awkwardly sing!!). Extremely delicious. Basically a large, tasty brownie with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with caramel and chocolate. All in all, we left with 2 beers, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a large dessert that we couldn't finish for $36. And it was all very good. You cannot beat that. PLUS, our waitress was super nice and service wasn't too fast or too slow, but just right! If I had to critique anything, I'd go after the ambience. The restaurant itself is in a strip mall and the inside looks like a painted room with some cheap decor. But considering everything else, I could care less! If you're in the area, definitely try and stop by.

I gave my review a 2 because the side salad was fresh and as expected. While it certainly was nothing exceptional it met expectations. My turkey burger was not so good. I ordered the turkey burger with Swiss cheese. For $9 I would expect the burger to be made from fresh ground turkey seasoned well and grilled to order. When the burger arrived I was surprised to see a pre-shaped patty that tasted like it was frozen. The turkey had the taste and consistency of breakfast turkey sausage. Either cook your food fresh or take it off the menu!

My wife and I had been hearing good reviews of Peterlins restaurant and so we decided to try it Saturday eve. We were seated at 4:30 and Jayson greeted us warmly. After a few minutes my wife ordered a chicken quesadilla and Jason recommended the chicken Chardonnay for me. I'm glad I followed his suggestion as it turned out to be delicious. With it I had a cup of mushroom soup with croutons which came to the table barely warm. I sent it back and after an apology it returned steaming. It tasted quite good with lots of portobello and crimini mushrooms,however it was quite salty. My wife's quesadilla was adequate but nothing special I also ordered a side if Mac and cheese which was uninteresting and a far cry from the Union Woodshop in Rochester(I digress). JAson was a fine waiter and the restaurant has potential. I saw many items that looked good on the menu and we will return.

My fiance and I ate here a few weeks ago. I want to love this place but I don't. To start we ordered the fried goat cheese. Although they were tasty, they came on Texas toast that were too big for the actual size of the fried goat cheese patty. The balsamic vinegar drizzled on the patty's tasted overly sweet. We also ordered the pulled pork nachos. They tasted okay but the BBQ sauce tasted like Sweet Baby Ray's and felt pretty generic to me. For entrees I ordered the Bourbon Burger cooked medium (recommended by the waitress). The bacon that was included were cut up bacon and not strips, which did not mesh well with the burger. Bacon strips are the natural way to layer a burger and not bits that fell out of my burger as I ate it. My better half ordered the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and she did not like it as much. The chicken tasted bland slightly rubbery. We both ordered the truffle fries that did taste delicious. The food did not blow me away, it reminded me of going to Champs or a Bar Louie. With the best thing here being their fries was a total letdown. Service was okay although a few times, we had to ask another waitress/bus boy to refill our waters. The ambiance and feel of the restaurant is mediocre with the high ceiling and black tables; it is not as welcoming. Again, I wanted to love this place because we live so close to it but nothing special here.

We went to Peterlin's for the first time today. We arrived at noon and when we walked in the front door I thought I was walking into a dark dungeon. Dark grey walls, black ceiling and cement floor. If they had tried to seat us in that room I think I would have left because it felt so dark and foreboding. Luckily for us there was another room that had large windows. It was still a dark room, with black ceiling, dark grey walls and a black floor that showed every single crumb, making the place look dirty but at least some daylight was coming in. We ordered our food, I ordered the Cheesesteak Spring Rolls and my Mom ordered the Chicken Club Roll Up. Our server was pleasant but on this visit they were definitely understaffed. Our server was running non stop trying to take care of way too many tables/booths. When the food finally arrived, it looked yummy but tasted only OK. I would have liked it better if my spring rolls tasted more like the steak or mushrooms instead of the American cheese, which actually is all I tasted, and I have no clue where the hash browns were in this dish. The horseradish steak sauce that came with it however, was delicious and is what saved this dish. Mom said her Chicken Club was OK but did not have much in the way of seasoning which made it taste bland. The pub chips that came with her sandwich were hard enough to break a tooth and had absolutely no seasoning or flavor. When our server refilled her glass of iced tea, it came with no ice and was tepid. In spite of the problems we had, both Mom and I agreed we would give this place one more chance IF we can sit in the room with the windows. It is possible that we just arrived at Peterlin's when they were having a really bad day and since this place is so close to where Mom lives, we will try it once more. I really do not know why the owners want this restaurant to look so dark. Maybe they had a certain look in mind, but I think it needs a cheerful pop of color somewhere because right now it feels rather gloomy and depressing. And oh yeah, the paint on the walls needs to be touched up where the chairs have scraped the paint off right down to the white drywall. The damage really shows up against those dark walls!

I also ordered a carry out to bring home for hubby and he said the burger was very good. It was pretty busy at this new "hangout" and hopefully will continue to stay busy. Appetizers: Bar chips, corn & black beAn guacamole. Both excellent. Main courses were sirloin steak with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes; pasta in a cream sauce. Gain, both of those were great! Kid had kids menu stuff and I guess they liked it. We were there around 4:30 on a Saturday evening and it was about half full. Service was friendly, but a little lacking. Right after our appetizers came out, the salads were delivered. (I hate that!). She was a little slow on refills, delivered the wrong appetizers the first time, etc. Little stuff that cost them the 5th star. The kitchen earned all 5 though.

A pleasant surprise for a restaurant in a strip mall setting. Stumbled upon this place while I was in the neighborhood for other business. They have a great beer selection, including local brews. Stopped in here on a business lunch this week and ordered the cobb salad. What an AMAZING salad. Bacon, egg, blue cheese crumbles, etc. All the fixins in generous portions, and quick enough service to get four of us in and out in less than an hour. Clean, modern restaurant. Yeah, sometimes the servers are a little slow, minor glitches here and there, but some of the reviewers herein are perfectionists. ***However, price is often neglected in these reviews. Our family of four usually generates a bill around $90 at places like Ginopolis, J Alexander, Pizza Biga, even Ruby Tuesday's around $75. By comparison, last night our tab before tip was $43 at Peterlin's! 2 kiddie mac & cheese, 2 adult entrees, 2 drinks, before tip. That would have been even lower had we arrived before 6:00 - the happy hour 2-for-one deal is unbelievable. Can get the cheese steak spring rolls as an entree, very generous portion, or the very delicious goat cheese appetizer. It's also nice to patronize a family-owned place, rather than going to a chain owned by some mega-corporation. Keep up the good work Zach!

My fiance and I stopped in for dinner for the first time tonight. I had the chipotle chicken sandwich and he had "Da Cuban." We both thought our sandwiches were very good and decided to order the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. I don't usually order dessert out at dinner but pumpkin cheesecake is something I don't usually pass down. Our waiter came back to tell us they were out and asked if we would like to order something else instead. We told him no thank you and he brought us the check. The owner, Zach, came by and introduced himself, apologized for being out of the pumpkin cheesecake and offered to buy us a dessert. We accepted his offer and went with apple cobbler -- which was also great! We liked the food enough to come back another time but the excellent customer service we were shown made it even that much better. I actually made a Yelp account just because of this experience. :)

We went there because we heard the chef from Cowley's was there. I was pleasantly surprised by how much we loved the restaurant. We split an appetizer (pot stickers), dinner (pork tenderloin) and dessert (brownie sundae). They brought the dinner and dessert out already split in half which we really liked. Stopped in here on a Friday evening and it was packed, and discovered for good reason. My party of 3 was able to find seating right away at the bar and the bartenders were some of the most friendly I've ever met. They made us feel like long time friends right away. The selection of beer was good, had multiple Bell's on tap. On to the food. Looking at the menu I wanted to try everything, but the cheesesteak spring caught my eye. They were fantastic and was a cool original twist between two very different types of food! Definitely will be back to try a lot of other things off the menu.

After going back many times, Peterlin's is never disappointing. Their new expansion came out beautifully and the new bar is wonderful. Always new beers, many Michigan local, are available via the 16 (I think) taps. The menu is relatively what it always has been with new specials keeping things interesting, especially around the holidays when there are events planned. The occasional entertainment has always been top notch bested only by the food! The wife and I will continue to enjoy this great restaurant as a favorite for when we do dinner and a movie with the theater just 2 minutes up the street!

Peterlin's is just alright. Nothing to write home about. I am gluten free, so when I saw that they had gluten free offerings I decided to give it a try. We walked in and no host around, a sign that says wait to be seated so we were just standing there awkwardly. We flagged someone down, who ended up being our server. She gave us menus, took our order, delivered our food, did all the thing needed but nothing above and beyond. Not fantastic service, not horrid either just average no personality at all, didn't really check back or offer anything extra. My boyfriend isn't gluten free and I am so its difficult to find places that make both of us happy. We went in on Thursday night, they were offering a burger and beer combo for $12 which my boyfriend got and I got a salad. Nothing on the gluten free menu sounded appealing to me and all of it was way overpriced. Just various proteins with sauces on a plate, nothing that Wowed me and made me go 'I want to try that!' So I ended up getting a salad and taking off anything that contained gluten. My boyfriend said the burger seemed to be a preshaped patty, not hand shaped like you would expect from a place with this kind of reputation and prices. He also said it was kind of dry and boring, kind of over cooked. Their 'signature' pub chips were kind of cooked too long. Dark brown, very crunchy and not very flavorful. So not a horrid experience, but not great. Won't go back again just nothing there attractive to make me what to go back. Tried it once, thats good enough I'll try someplace else next time.

Was looking forward to eating here after dieting for 4 months for a bodybuilding competition...As for food a full 4 stars, had the goat cheese and the Chick Parm and my lady had the Mac and Cheese with Sausage. As far as abmiance and service. Was kind of dull, more of a bar with higher end food. Server albeit friendly was not very prompt....Our reservations were forgotten. I truly feel you should give it a try just for the food alone...there is always carry out :)

Really wanted to love this local place, but it was just ok. Chef/owner came over to talk to us and gave us samples of mushroom soup to taste which was great. Cheesesteak spring rolls and fried goat cheese were decent. 2 of us had pork tenderloin, and 2 had meatloaf. Looked like and tasted like dinner I would make on a regular weeknight. Nothing super special. Would probably go back with the kids if we're in the area, but definitely not for a night out with my husband. Glad we had the TravelZoo deal... Not sure it was worth it otherwise. Biggest complaint: went home totally smelling like greasy fried food and had to shower. I get it's mostly bar food, but maybe they need better ventilation ;)

The first time I was here, my initial reaction was: eh. It's okay. We wanted to try something different in the area. Cheesesteak Spring rolls, and such were good. The waitresses were clumsy. The second time, I had a pork tenderloin with a bacon and BBQ sauce topping that was quite awesome. Tender, sweet and delicious. Near perfect. Just returned from having Goat Cheese appetizer with marinara and balsamic reduction (outstanding!) plus an excellent 8 oz Sirloin steak. This isn't "chain" food. This is real cooking, and it's real dang good. The expansion of the building has made the atmosphere more acceptable as well... the original part feels like a hollowed out dungeon: the new part feels like a classy modern place to eat. I'm stuffed. To summarize: this is what I imagine it tastes like when an Iron Chef cooks for you.

I love the Mac and Cheese here and I was impressed that when I ordered a steak that the broccoli was properly cooked and appeared fresh, unlike most restaurants. Overall the price is pretty good for what you get. The business is relatively new and the owner is the head chef, so you get more of a hometown feel instead of the chain restaurants where they have a million things on the wall.

Between my girlfriend and I we've tried the Caramelized Salmon, Portabella Wrapped Up, Grilled Chicken Tostada Salad, Sante Fe Chicken Wrap, Cheesesteak Spring Rolls, and the Fried Goat Cheese (not at one sitting). In short, everything was incredible. It doesn't hurt that they have a great selection of Michigan craft beers. The food isn't cheap, but fairly priced given the quality. Cheers.

I've been to Peterlin's about ten times now - I live right around the corner, so it's great having an inviting place like this in the neighborhood. I've been consistently impressed with their (admittedly limited) selection of draft beers. There's always something interesting from local breweries. Jan-Feb, they had Hopslam for $5-6 a pint! Great deal! The food has been quite good, though I've only had the cherry chicken salad and a couple of the appetizers. Ingredients seem to be fresh and of decent quality. Portions are generous. Service has been consistently above average. I look forward to coming here more often in the future. Between Sushi House, Tofu House, Rainbow Restaurant, and now Peterlins, this is strip is a good spot! 4 stars vs. 5 because the food prices seem to be a tad high, but it's not enough to stop me from coming back.

I've been here twice. Farmington hills doesn't have the greatest restaurant selection so this place is a welcome addition! The appetizers are great: goat cheese, bruschetta, and SW chicken egg rolls were all excellent and they were good sized portions. The drinks are reasonably priced and they do have happy hour. If you're in the immediate area this is your best bet. Although they're closed on Sunday I guess :(

Peterlins is such a hidden gem! My husband and I moved here almost a year ago and have been to peterlins roughly 10-12 times. We love it! We have tried a huge variety of things on the menu and EVERYTHING has been top notch. The ingredients they use are fresh and it shows in their dishes. Everything from the salads to the apps to the entrees. Even the side dishes are amazing! Some of my favorites include: the corn, the portabella wrap and the meatloaf. Very affordable and you get a good portion of excellent food. I highly recommend checking them out!

After reading some of the reviews and seeing an article in one of the local newspapers, we decided to check out Peterlin's for dinner tonight. This was our first time dining there and we are not acquainted with the owners in any way. When we arrived it was quite crowded (7 p.m. on a Thursday night), but our party of three was seated within 5 minutes. Our server was very attentive and friendly. My husband and I ordered alcoholic beverages (beer and a cocktail). Both were good. He had a draft beer and I had one of the beverages with blueberry vodka. The price for the 23 oz beer and the tall vodka beverage were very reasonable in my opinion. Many people have raved about the pub chips so we ordered them as an appetizer. They were good, although we did ask for the cheese sauce on the side and it did not get delivered to our table that way. However, $8.00 for the amount of chips, just didn't seem worth the price and we probably will not order them again for that reason. Our son ordered the cajun chicken caesar salad along with a side of fries. He liked it and was very happy that the chicken was served warm instead of cold. I had the cherry chicken salad which was also very good. I would have preferred that the salad be served with mixed greens (Mesculin mix, arugula, etc), instead of the romaine mix, but that is just a preference on my part. My husband ordered a cup of vegetable soup that was outstanding and meatloaf with mashed potatoes which he also said was good. Our bill was $51 and some change and was actually less than I had expected it to be. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that it was buy one, get one salad tonight so the chicken caesar was no charge. We will definitely return to Peterlin's. I'd love to see some non-fried sandwich items added to the menu. Maybe a chicken wrap with grilled chicken instead of chicken fingers? Good luck and welcome to the neighborhood!

Headed towards Sushi House but saw that Peterlin's was not open and switched plans, glad we did. The food was FANTASTIC!!! Started with the Blackbean and corn guac. it was a great twist on traditional guac, and the chips were hot and fresh. Then the soup, home made and great, wish the cup was bigger. I've eaten at Peterlins 4 times now & decided to post a review. It has became a new favorite for my parents, but I'm not sure if I'd give it more than 3 maybe 4 stars. My husband & 6 yr daughter seem to enjoy it. Decor is simple but nice &clean. Staff has always been friendly. We really enjoyed chatting with Kim, who is one of the owners. They have about 6-8 items on the kids menu, which is a good thing. My 6 yr old seems to be happy with the food, although she did not like the chicken tenders - which didn't look appealing to me. She likes the Caribbean mango dressing, so she has a side salad which has been fresh each time. They have a good selection of craft beers, including local brews, which is important to us. Their house pinot noir was pretty good, but that's the extent to which we've tried they bar. The menu - here is where I have trouble. I am not an unusually healthy eater, but I don't like fried, heavy, greasy, foods. There is a lot of that type of food on the menu. O.k. it is a bar so some is expected. There are quite a few sandwiches that sound good, but everything is on some sort of white enriched flour roll, wrap or bread. It would be great to have some sort of good whole wheat or whole grain option. So far, I've had the salmon salad & the chicken tortilla salad, on 3 visits - both were very fresh and good. I tried the mac & cheese with chicken, which was decent, but, again, white pasta - not a huge fan. One member of our party enjoyed the turkey burger. 3 people enjoyed the meatloaf, including my 6 yr old. The sweet potato fries are really good, as is the guac & totilla chips. Their house made potato chips are very good, too. Please bring in some sort of real whole grain/whole wheat options. We will return, I'm sure. I hope this place succeeds.

I've been here three times now so I can give an honest review. The decor is ok just your average looking restaurant with a small bar. They have good happy hour with two dollar domestics, cannot remember other drink prices and buy one get one appetizers. Problem is the apps are pretty disappointing. I've had the catfish tenders each time. I still cannot tell if they are fresh. Last time I went the fish had a really strong scent and was watery telling me that they were once frozen, yuck. The chicken tenders are thin flat (thick as a pinky finger on a petite woman) and directly out of a bag from the freezer. That one is a guarantee. Also had the chicken and black bean egg rolls. I bought these once at gordon foods and they were the same exact ones. As far as entrees I've had a Philly cheese steak( actually pretty good and seemingly fresh), burger( lousy pre patties beef),da Cuban ( very good). The service was very good and the owners were there each time I have been there. I root for every restaurant that opens in Farmington because not many good ones. This one is on the track of failure. People go out to dinner to get food they can't make at home. Charging people money for frozen gross food is actually embarrassing and I hope the owners read this because I grew up in this industry and this is not the way to do it. On the other side there are a few dishes that are quite good and most importantly homemade. If this place turns everything homemade they have a chance, if not yet another vacant building in a Farmington strip mall. Oh and to the several five star reviews.....seriously?

I have lived in downtown Farmington now for 42 years. I absolutely love the city. I have been eating at a brand new restaurant now for 3-4 weeks since the opening. Downtown Farmington always had the downtown charm of older cities in SE lower Michigan. Farmington has both middle and upper class residents throughout the years. I kind of fit in the middle of it here. Peterlin's is owned and operated by Zach Peterlin who is known from past experience from several renowned Michigan restaurants around SE lower Michigan. Let me start out telling you that Zach has kept his menu at the start only concentrating on mostly on "specialties" with plenty of both daily, and Happy Hour specials. I have been eating Zach's entrees at this new restaurant for 3-4 times a week now and have been very happy with both my own entree as well as the outstanding service while I dined. The Meat Loaf, Macaroni and Cheese, Fish, and Linguini are out of this world. Soups are homemade and are very well prepared and tasty from many years of experience. Try it.....You will love it!

We went here Saturday with our son, daughter in law and grandkids. We got there about five and were seated promptly. Our server was a very nice young man who quickly took our drink orders. My martini was perfect. We order the fried goat cheese appetizer and it was fantastic, great taste, big enough to share, wonderful toasted bread with the melty goat cheese. I had the Pork tenderloin with sweet chili sauce and it was tremendous. Just the right amount of heat in the sauce, pork cooked perfectly, mashed potatoes were yummy. The whole dish was just wonderful. My husband had the philly cheesesteak sandwich, he liked it but wished for more cheese. Our son had the Cuban sandwich and said it was very tasty. Daughter in law had the chopped salad, it was large and loaded, she loved it and it was lunch for the next day. They have a nice little kids menu also. I like the atmosphere of the place, we would definately go back again.

Come in here for lunch quite often. Thought I had reviewed this place already, but apparently not. Went in today and tried the patty melt off the special menu. I was a little hesitant about a patty melt with thousand island dressing on it, but it definitely worked. It was one of the better patty melts I've ever had. Burgers are always tasty. Salads are good and decent portion. They've often got great specials, too. Today, some of the appetizers were 2-for-1 and I know on another day (I think Thursday) it's $6 burgers - but don't quote me on that. Regardless, the service is always good. The prices are reasonable. The food is delicious. My only complaint would be that the atmosphere is a little bit sterile. Other than that...great place.

I was really looking forward to coming here with all these rave reviews! Walked into this place on a Monday night and it was PACKED! I still can't believe this place used to be a Happy's Pizza.The menu seems pretty diverse, lots of good options to choose from for reasonable prices. Spoiler- I didn't just get a burger, even though now I wish I would have! Honestly, the food was "eh", the service seemed busy and didn't pay much attention to us and the atmosphere was pretty bland. Not the first impression I was hoping for from Peterlin's. Maybe I'll just have to come back more often to take advantage of the great specials they have!

So, in my last review several months back I said I was on the fence between 2 & 3 stars...I gave the nudge to this place at that time...by whatever circumstances, I find myself here again, but this time Peterlin's gets 2 or less stars...mostly for repeat mistakes! So I arrived for dinner and walked into the bar area, first impression, the lighting is awful. Recessed spot-lights in the ceiling are the primary light source, it is extremely cold feeling, its the type of lighting you would see get turned on during last call or when the power goes out and the emergency generator lights kick on. Without ambiance, its really a cold experience! Next thing you notice, how slow the service is...come on the place was far less than 40% capacity, why can't one of the people standing around, help out? Next up...the menu! Along with the regular menu, they give you a piece of paper with the specials on it, like my previous complaint, the font is centered, there are no separating lines or breaks from one item to another, so its a big run on page of confusion. On top of that the font size is somewhere in the 9 to 11 range, im thinking he used about a 10 font in order to fit all the specials on this paper. I posted a copy of it, taken under the crappy lighting I mentioned. Another thing on the menu, both the regular and the specials menu, the prices are really high for a place like this, it really shows how out of touch they are. The 8 oz sirloin steak like the last visit, was still listed as $21...if you think about that for a second, it dawns on you that this place believes that $42 a pound for a sirloin steak is OK, uhm its not! The rest of the menu really follows suit with this pricing scheme, with the exception of some burger specials perhaps. Our server was really nice, but nice wasn't filling the glasses, nice wasn't getting the table cleared, or the check any faster. My opinion is, this place is in need of some good management and possibly menu analysis and a better pricing strategy! They are certainly appealing to people who seemingly have no other nearby options, but I am in the opinion that they are chasing away or otherwise missing out on a potential market that would go beyond just sustaining this place, and take it to much higher profits! This is not a place I would recommend in good conscious based on the things I mention, the people I've spoken with that have been here agree and wouldn't return either.

Came in on Friday night a little after 7, it was busy but we were seated right away by a very polite and friendly hostess. And that's pretty much where the good service ended. It took a while for a server to approach us to see if we'd been helped yet, I always thought servers had designated areas so I think she was just not paying attention. Once we ordered it took at least a full inning of the tigers game for our food to be brought to us. Drinks were never refilled, or even offered to be refilled. The food was okay, for the price I could've just gone to Panera. I'd like to say the servers were busy helping other guest, and a good portion were, but unfortunately I could see the rest( my server included) standing talking to each other. Also it took forever to get the bill. I'd probably go back if there was a zombie apocalypse and they were the last establishment with a working refrigeration system.

Hubs had the meatloaf sandwich and same thing- although he didn't care for the meatloaf at all- lacking flavor and a mushy texture- the red sangria was good, but the white one is very sweet and peachy- the mushroom soup was tasty but very salty- we will return to try other options- they seem to have a good happy hour

The food is always good though the last time I came in I was craving a pork dish I've had many times (it was so good that when I dropped leftovers on the floor at home I cut off the floor side & still ate it) & they changed their menu & they no longer have it. Their new menu is smaller & there wasn't a specials menu which is what I often order off of so that was a bit of a bummer. I really like their side salad & they have a large dressing list & my fave is the sweet vidalia. The service here is good, staff are very friendly & the prices are on the high side of reasonable but for me I always have leftovers so I don't mind spending a little extra! I don't know if they've updated things yet but their hours posted were wrong the last time I checked...twice I got there at 9:30 & was planning on dinner & drinks after as their site & door said they were open until 11:00 & they actually closed at 10:00. I also recently found out they aren't open on Sunday (which was a disappointment when I pulled in) but I wish they at least offered a Sunday brunch.

Easily one of the best bar burgers around. This place has really grown on me and I have yet to be disappointed by the food or the service. I make it in here at least ever couple weeks although I think I'm going to hit the $6 Burger lunch up today even though I was in yesterday. My go to, their Black & Bleu Burger....it's close to a 3/8"+ thick patty, on a killer bun with fresh produce (we're talking really pretty tomatoes, fresh red onion and crisp lettuce) and a healthy serving of bacon (on request) and bleu cheese. It comes with a pickle and their in-house made potato chips, which are nothing to scoff at...thick and crispy, and if you get the Pub Chips app you'll find them covered in a heap of good stuff (the Pub Chips are pretty awesome!). Yesterday I had their Patty Melt on buttery, griddled, marbled rye a juicy patty and 1000 Island which took my melt to a happy place I haven't been before. The Cuban is solid and their Chicken Finger wrap is really good too. Their specials always sound great. Their soups are always satisfying and the service is always friendly, fast and pretty much perfect. If you haven't been I'd definitely recommend Pete's. I'm a fan and they've turned me into a regular.

I haven't been super crazy on my previous visits, I had the fish & chips on this visit. It was CRAZY good!! It was so good, I don't think I will be able to try anything else here for a while. The fish was cod and it want deep fried to crisp like some places, it was perfectly fried and juicy and perfect flavor.

I try to eat local and Peterlin's is one of the best reasons to ditch those chains and put money into our local economy! As soon as you walk in, you get that homey feeling! There is ample seating so you almost never need to wait for a table. They also offer a happy hour, a gluten free menu, and a wide variety of entrees, from steak to salmon, to pasta, to amazing salads! The prices are reasonable and you'll definitely need a doggy bag when it's time to leave.

I'm so glad we gave Peterlin's another chance! We were invited to a 50th birthday party and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food so we went back a few weeks later and we were very impressed! Service was fantastic. I guess they worked the kinks out and they've been doing very well since they expanded into the space next door. I had the Southwest Wrap and it was delicious and David loved the Bourbon Burger and we both really enjoyed our dinner. Matter a fact, we ended up going again two nights in a row!

It's almost shocking how unpleasant my most recent experience at Peterlin's was. I live and work in Farmington Hills and enjoy eating out. I have visited Peterlin's on many occasions and had always been satisfied with the food, service and overall experience. However, when I visited for happy hour with a friend recently we were treated disrespectfully by the OWNER himself! We ordered beer and appetizers from their "buy one get one" happy hour special. Our bruschetta arrived as it typically does - a big full plate, but we were only given three chicken tenders. This wouldn't have been a deal breaker by any means, I simply asked our server if this was the normal portion. He admitted that it was not, that a typical appetizer should have had at least twice as much chicken. I laughed because I couldn't believe that when they offered half off the price, they also thought that meant half the portion! What makes this review turn into a Kitchen Nightmares-esque story is that our server relayed our amusement to the manager who in turn told the owner. Again - we were enjoying our beer and normal portion of bruschetta (we even cut a chicken tender in half so we each had the same amount of food), but when a very large and imposing man came to our table and leaned against my side of the booth (essentially "pinning" me in) I was instantly taken aback by the arrogance of his stature. He was irritated that I had pointed out that half off typically means the price - its an incentive for customers to stop in - its not meant as an excuse for the kitchen to be thrifty. The one star review is absolutely based on the owner's demeanor at our table-side. He argued with me, and asked me why he should give food away, because it is still costing them. I was so put off by his tone, stance and behavior that I wasn't comfortable in the restaurant. Our waiter came back a few minutes later with a plate holding one additional chicken tender, but we were so disgusted that we just asked for our check. I say this frequently in my reviews, but there are too many options in this area to remain somewhere that is sub-par. The food isn't terrible, and our server was amazingly patient. He apologized for Zach's brutish attitude and said that he frequently upsets guests by arguing with them about the taste of his food. It is one thing to take pride in your cooking, but its not okay to treat people so disrespectfully. To his credit, our entire meal was comped (which we did not ask for), so we left what we would have spent on the food to our waiter. I realize that when you open your own restaurant you are allowed to do whatever you want. But if Zach cannot listen to reasonable and legitimate questions from guests (who feel like advertising "buy one get one free" should mean what it says) he should stay in the kitchen and save his staff the trouble of having to apologize for him and ultimately giving away free food. I've never felt so uncomfortable and treated so terribly by a business I was patronizing before. Such a shame.

Was visiting family in Ann Arbor in July and came to listen to Benny (of Benny and the Jets, also my cousin). The food was delicious. We had a large group of 12 and so I saw quite a few dinner options and everyone enjoyed their meal. It all seems very tasty and presented well. It is worth the visit!

We stumbled into this place by chance, but I was super excited to find out they had a separate gluten free menu and gluten free beer and cider options! The Asian salmon salad was great, good flavors and not fishy. But the chicken Chardonnay was amazing, Sooo creamy and delicious with perfectly cooked veggies too. Plus, the beer was $5 and happy hour 3-6pm means vodka tonic was only $3! We will definitely be back with friends!

The food at Peterlin's is always solid (although personally I prefer this place for lunch or pre-dinner appetizers and drinks -- generally the place attracts an older crowd). It's home-cooked food at its finest and it's so nice that there's a local joint where you can enjoy top-notch food when you don't feel like cooking for yourself. But in my opinion, the awesomeness ends there. (Note: if I were rating on food alone, this place would get 4 stars!) The service is unfortunately hit-or-miss (from what we've experienced in our four visits thus far). The servers are generally very sweet but don't move all that quickly (and unfortunately aren't very well-versed with the beer list, which is a bummer). We like to drink here on occasion but find it frustrating when we'd be better suited to get up from our table and check out the tap offerings ourselves instead of checking with our server in the dining room. My suggestion: it's worth checking out at least once (and bare minimum, go to check out the food) -- the place is always packed! Just keep your expectations low with regard to server knowledge and attention.

I had heard some chatter that since the expansion, Peterlin's had gone downhill. A couple people guessed that either the chef or management had changed, and some others thought that they might not be able to handle the expansion of the seating area. Either way, I refused to believe it. Sadly, the chatter was correct. I suggested we go here when the in-laws were in town because it has always been our go-to favorite place. It was sort of busy when we were there, but there was a ton of wait stuff running around (it looked like 4 waitresses and 2-3 bus boys on our side of the restaurant). It took forever to get our order in and then to get our drinks. They were out of what I ordered (prosecco) so offered a substitute. I asked if it was similar to the prosecco, a very dry sparkling white, and was told it was. Nope! It was super sweet. Like nauseatingly sweet. I looked at the mini bottle and it was "dolce" (Italian for sweet) asti (an already inherently sweet sparkling wine). I ordered a glass of red wine instead, which was better, but at this point we were done with our salads and part way through the main course. The salads came out pretty quickly after we ordered, and at this point we've been in the restaurant for probably close to 25 minutes. No silverware yet. We had our salads for 10 minutes before silverware was brought out (now 35 minutes into being there). We were told that there wasn't any ready until that point. The main courses came, and my husband's steak was a noticeably different quality than it used to be and more expensive (all the prices have gone up). His green beans were cold. Like taken out of the refrigerator cold. The steak was at least hot and cooked to the right temp, but the fries were burnt and crusty. The in-laws said their salad and shrimp scampi were good, but the shrimp remained uneaten on the plate, so I don't know if I believe their representations. I ordered my go-to, the macaroni and cheese, which was a noticeably smaller portion. The sauce, instead of being smooth, was sort of gritty. Not sand gritty, but like day-old reheated sauce gritty or broken cream gritty. I was hungry, so I ate it, and it wasn't terrible but it wasn't the delicious plate of food that I'm used to getting at Peterlin's. I also noticed that the manager lady who has always been there, running a tight ship and being really hands-on with the customers, wasn't there. I don't know if she was off or if she left, but please, please come back! I don't know when, or if, we'll be back, but I hope Peterlin's gets it together so this can once again be our go-to spot.

We have tried this restaurant many times giving it one more chance. The food is not bad just fair but I wouldn't go out if my way to eat here. If you want a drink it might be ok. The service has been consistently slow and inattentive, so if you want to feel a bit ignored and have ok food this is the place for you. Bartenders make strong liquor drinks - spicy Bloody Mary's, dirty, dirty martinis, etc. We love their Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. Love them! Perfect app for taste and sopping up the IPA abv. Stopped in yesterday for a birthday dinner since we were in Farmington. Definitely glad we did because we had a fantastic experience. We were fortunate enough to catch happy hour. This allowed us to get two beers and two appetizers for only $12 - what a steal. We ordered the Southwest Chicken Eggrolls. Super good and highly recommended. We also ordered Pub Chips, which were also a great choice. Entrees didn't disappoint either. I ordered the meatloaf and my partner ordered a chicken wrap. We agreed that both were delicious. My meal came with a small salad, garlic mashed potatoes, and corn. Salad was good and I enjoyed their Italian dressing. Potatoes weren't garlic-y, and oddly tasted like vanilla ice cream, but I still enjoyed them. Corn tasted like, well, corn. Partner swapped out Pub Chips that came with her wrap for a salad, which she liked. Since it was my birthday, we ordered a Fudge Brownie Sundae (on the house, and they didn't even awkwardly sing!!). Extremely delicious. Basically a large, tasty brownie with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with caramel and chocolate. All in all, we left with 2 beers, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a large dessert that we couldn't finish for $36. And it was all very good. You cannot beat that. PLUS, our waitress was super nice and service wasn't too fast or too slow, but just right! If I had to critique anything, I'd go after the ambience. The restaurant itself is in a strip mall and the inside looks like a painted room with some cheap decor. But considering everything else, I could care less! If you're in the area, definitely try and stop by.

I gave my review a 2 because the side salad was fresh and as expected. While it certainly was nothing exceptional it met expectations. My turkey burger was not so good. I ordered the turkey burger with Swiss cheese. For $9 I would expect the burger to be made from fresh ground turkey seasoned well and grilled to order. When the burger arrived I was surprised to see a pre-shaped patty that tasted like it was frozen. The turkey had the taste and consistency of breakfast turkey sausage. Either cook your food fresh or take it off the menu!

My wife and I had been hearing good reviews of Peterlins restaurant and so we decided to try it Saturday eve. We were seated at 4:30 and Jayson greeted us warmly. After a few minutes my wife ordered a chicken quesadilla and Jason recommended the chicken Chardonnay for me. I'm glad I followed his suggestion as it turned out to be delicious. With it I had a cup of mushroom soup with croutons which came to the table barely warm. I sent it back and after an apology it returned steaming. It tasted quite good with lots of portobello and crimini mushrooms,however it was quite salty. My wife's quesadilla was adequate but nothing special I also ordered a side if Mac and cheese which was uninteresting and a far cry from the Union Woodshop in Rochester(I digress). JAson was a fine waiter and the restaurant has potential. I saw many items that looked good on the menu and we will return.

My fiance and I ate here a few weeks ago. I want to love this place but I don't. To start we ordered the fried goat cheese. Although they were tasty, they came on Texas toast that were too big for the actual size of the fried goat cheese patty. The balsamic vinegar drizzled on the patty's tasted overly sweet. We also ordered the pulled pork nachos. They tasted okay but the BBQ sauce tasted like Sweet Baby Ray's and felt pretty generic to me. For entrees I ordered the Bourbon Burger cooked medium (recommended by the waitress). The bacon that was included were cut up bacon and not strips, which did not mesh well with the burger. Bacon strips are the natural way to layer a burger and not bits that fell out of my burger as I ate it. My better half ordered the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and she did not like it as much. The chicken tasted bland slightly rubbery. We both ordered the truffle fries that did taste delicious. The food did not blow me away, it reminded me of going to Champs or a Bar Louie. With the best thing here being their fries was a total letdown. Service was okay although a few times, we had to ask another waitress/bus boy to refill our waters. The ambiance and feel of the restaurant is mediocre with the high ceiling and black tables; it is not as welcoming. Again, I wanted to love this place because we live so close to it but nothing special here.

We went to Peterlin's for the first time today. We arrived at noon and when we walked in the front door I thought I was walking into a dark dungeon. Dark grey walls, black ceiling and cement floor. If they had tried to seat us in that room I think I would have left because it felt so dark and foreboding. Luckily for us there was another room that had large windows. It was still a dark room, with black ceiling, dark grey walls and a black floor that showed every single crumb, making the place look dirty but at least some daylight was coming in. We ordered our food, I ordered the Cheesesteak Spring Rolls and my Mom ordered the Chicken Club Roll Up. Our server was pleasant but on this visit they were definitely understaffed. Our server was running non stop trying to take care of way too many tables/booths. When the food finally arrived, it looked yummy but tasted only OK. I would have liked it better if my spring rolls tasted more like the steak or mushrooms instead of the American cheese, which actually is all I tasted, and I have no clue where the hash browns were in this dish. The horseradish steak sauce that came with it however, was delicious and is what saved this dish. Mom said her Chicken Club was OK but did not have much in the way of seasoning which made it taste bland. The pub chips that came with her sandwich were hard enough to break a tooth and had absolutely no seasoning or flavor. When our server refilled her glass of iced tea, it came with no ice and was tepid. In spite of the problems we had, both Mom and I agreed we would give this place one more chance IF we can sit in the room with the windows. It is possible that we just arrived at Peterlin's when they were having a really bad day and since this place is so close to where Mom lives, we will try it once more. I really do not know why the owners want this restaurant to look so dark. Maybe they had a certain look in mind, but I think it needs a cheerful pop of color somewhere because right now it feels rather gloomy and depressing. And oh yeah, the paint on the walls needs to be touched up where the chairs have scraped the paint off right down to the white drywall. The damage really shows up against those dark walls!

Stopped in here on a business lunch this week and ordered the cobb salad. What an AMAZING salad. Bacon, egg, blue cheese crumbles, etc. All the fixins in generous portions, and quick enough service to get four of us in and out in less than an hour. Clean, modern restaurant. Yeah, sometimes the servers are a little slow, minor glitches here and there, but some of the reviewers herein are perfectionists. ***However, price is often neglected in these reviews. Our family of four usually generates a bill around $90 at places like Ginopolis, J Alexander, Pizza Biga, even Ruby Tuesday's around $75. By comparison, last night our tab before tip was $43 at Peterlin's! 2 kiddie mac & cheese, 2 adult entrees, 2 drinks, before tip. That would have been even lower had we arrived before 6:00 - the happy hour 2-for-one deal is unbelievable. Can get the cheese steak spring rolls as an entree, very generous portion, or the very delicious goat cheese appetizer. It's also nice to patronize a family-owned place, rather than going to a chain owned by some mega-corporation. Keep up the good work Zach!

My fiance and I stopped in for dinner for the first time tonight. I had the chipotle chicken sandwich and he had "Da Cuban." We both thought our sandwiches were very good and decided to order the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. I don't usually order dessert out at dinner but pumpkin cheesecake is something I don't usually pass down. Our waiter came back to tell us they were out and asked if we would like to order something else instead. We told him no thank you and he brought us the check. The owner, Zach, came by and introduced himself, apologized for being out of the pumpkin cheesecake and offered to buy us a dessert. We accepted his offer and went with apple cobbler -- which was also great! We liked the food enough to come back another time but the excellent customer service we were shown made it even that much better. I actually made a Yelp account just because of this experience. :)

We split an appetizer (pot stickers), dinner (pork tenderloin) and dessert (brownie sundae). They brought the dinner and dessert out already split in half which we really liked. Stopped in here on a Friday evening and it was packed, and discovered for good reason. My party of 3 was able to find seating right away at the bar and the bartenders were some of the most friendly I've ever met. They made us feel like long time friends right away. The selection of beer was good, had multiple Bell's on tap. On to the food. Looking at the menu I wanted to try everything, but the cheesesteak spring caught my eye. They were fantastic and was a cool original twist between two very different types of food! Definitely will be back to try a lot of other things off the menu.

After going back many times, Peterlin's is never disappointing. Their new expansion came out beautifully and the new bar is wonderful. Always new beers, many Michigan local, are available via the 16 (I think) taps. The menu is relatively what it always has been with new specials keeping things interesting, especially around the holidays when there are events planned. The occasional entertainment has always been top notch bested only by the food! The wife and I will continue to enjoy this great restaurant as a favorite for when we do dinner and a movie with the theater just 2 minutes up the street!

Peterlin's is just alright. Nothing to write home about. I am gluten free, so when I saw that they had gluten free offerings I decided to give it a try. We walked in and no host around, a sign that says wait to be seated so we were just standing there awkwardly. We flagged someone down, who ended up being our server. She gave us menus, took our order, delivered our food, did all the thing needed but nothing above and beyond. Not fantastic service, not horrid either just average no personality at all, didn't really check back or offer anything extra. My boyfriend isn't gluten free and I am so its difficult to find places that make both of us happy. We went in on Thursday night, they were offering a burger and beer combo for $12 which my boyfriend got and I got a salad. Nothing on the gluten free menu sounded appealing to me and all of it was way overpriced. Just various proteins with sauces on a plate, nothing that Wowed me and made me go 'I want to try that!' So I ended up getting a salad and taking off anything that contained gluten. My boyfriend said the burger seemed to be a preshaped patty, not hand shaped like you would expect from a place with this kind of reputation and prices. He also said it was kind of dry and boring, kind of over cooked. Their 'signature' pub chips were kind of cooked too long. Dark brown, very crunchy and not very flavorful. So not a horrid experience, but not great. Won't go back again just nothing there attractive to make me what to go back. Tried it once, thats good enough I'll try someplace else next time.

Wish I could give it 3 1/2 stars. Was looking forward to eating here after dieting for 4 months for a bodybuilding competition...As for food a full 4 stars, had the goat cheese and the Chick Parm and my lady had the Mac and Cheese with Sausage. As far as abmiance and service. Was kind of dull, more of a bar with higher end food. Server albeit friendly was not very prompt....Our reservations were forgotten. I truly feel you should give it a try just for the food alone...there is always carry out :)

I've been coming to Peterlin's for over a year and while sometimes the service can be a bit shaky, and I know which menu items to avoid, the overall experience has been great. The owners are friendly as can be and will bend over backwards to make sure you are satisfied with your meal. The beer selection is top notch.

A restaurant local to me. Not bad, not great. Excellent beer selection which elevates it quite a bit. Food was average, nothing bad but nothing outstanding. Menu is a bit on the heavy side, but par for the course I suppose.

Really wanted to love this local place, but it was just ok. Chef/owner came over to talk to us and gave us samples of mushroom soup to taste which was great. Cheesesteak spring rolls and fried goat cheese were decent. 2 of us had pork tenderloin, and 2 had meatloaf. Looked like and tasted like dinner I would make on a regular weeknight. Nothing super special. Would probably go back with the kids if we're in the area, but definitely not for a night out with my husband. Glad we had the TravelZoo deal... Not sure it was worth it otherwise. Biggest complaint: went home totally smelling like greasy fried food and had to shower. I get it's mostly bar food, but maybe they need better ventilation ;)

The first time I was here, my initial reaction was: eh. It's okay. We wanted to try something different in the area. Cheesesteak Spring rolls, and such were good. The waitresses were clumsy. The second time, I had a pork tenderloin with a bacon and BBQ sauce topping that was quite awesome. Tender, sweet and delicious. Near perfect. Just returned from having Goat Cheese appetizer with marinara and balsamic reduction (outstanding!) plus an excellent 8 oz Sirloin steak. This isn't "chain" food. This is real cooking, and it's real dang good. The expansion of the building has made the atmosphere more acceptable as well... the original part feels like a hollowed out dungeon: the new part feels like a classy modern place to eat. I'm stuffed. To summarize: this is what I imagine it tastes like when an Iron Chef cooks for you.

New bar,beers, sports on TV and a lot of specials. This is a must for good food and fun. Try the Mac and cheese with sim dried tomatoes it is to kill for Bread pudding is awesome and service is great

I love the Mac and Cheese here and I was impressed that when I ordered a steak that the broccoli was properly cooked and appeared fresh, unlike most restaurants. Overall the price is pretty good for what you get. The business is relatively new and the owner is the head chef, so you get more of a hometown feel instead of the chain restaurants where they have a million things on the wall.

Between my girlfriend and I we've tried the Caramelized Salmon, Portabella Wrapped Up, Grilled Chicken Tostada Salad, Sante Fe Chicken Wrap, Cheesesteak Spring Rolls, and the Fried Goat Cheese (not at one sitting). In short, everything was incredible. It doesn't hurt that they have a great selection of Michigan craft beers. The food isn't cheap, but fairly priced given the quality. Cheers.

I've been to Peterlin's about ten times now - I live right around the corner, so it's great having an inviting place like this in the neighborhood. I've been consistently impressed with their (admittedly limited) selection of draft beers. There's always something interesting from local breweries. Jan-Feb, they had Hopslam for $5-6 a pint! Great deal! The food has been quite good, though I've only had the cherry chicken salad and a couple of the appetizers. Ingredients seem to be fresh and of decent quality. Portions are generous. Service has been consistently above average. I look forward to coming here more often in the future. Between Sushi House, Tofu House, Rainbow Restaurant, and now Peterlins, this is strip is a good spot! 4 stars vs. 5 because the food prices seem to be a tad high, but it's not enough to stop me from coming back.

Tried this restaurant for the first time, very good food. A little slow to bring out the food, but overall very pleased with the place. Burger was cooked to perfection and my wife had the sirloin, both well cooked.

I have been here about 5 times now. For lunch, happy hour, and dinner. I have tried something new every time and every appetizer, sandwich and entree have been excellent. Hands down this is my new favorite restaurant. Service is great and the beer selection is solid!

I've been here twice. Farmington hills doesn't have the greatest restaurant selection so this place is a welcome addition! The appetizers are great: goat cheese, bruschetta, and SW chicken egg rolls were all excellent and they were good sized portions. The drinks are reasonably priced and they do have happy hour. If you're in the immediate area this is your best bet. Although they're closed on Sunday I guess :(

I have been here several times and have no complaints. The food is great and the staff is friendly. They are busy on the weekends (wish they had more seating and bar seats), but it is worth the wait. I love the goat cheese appetizer and also the cheese steak spring rolls. Happy they are in my neighborhood!

Peterlins is such a hidden gem! My husband and I moved here almost a year ago and have been to peterlins roughly 10-12 times. We love it! We have tried a huge variety of things on the menu and EVERYTHING has been top notch. The ingredients they use are fresh and it shows in their dishes. Everything from the salads to the apps to the entrees. Even the side dishes are amazing! Some of my favorites include: the corn, the portabella wrap and the meatloaf. Very affordable and you get a good portion of excellent food. I highly recommend checking them out!

After reading some of the reviews and seeing an article in one of the local newspapers, we decided to check out Peterlin's for dinner tonight. This was our first time dining there and we are not acquainted with the owners in any way. When we arrived it was quite crowded (7 p.m. on a Thursday night), but our party of three was seated within 5 minutes. Our server was very attentive and friendly. My husband and I ordered alcoholic beverages (beer and a cocktail). Both were good. He had a draft beer and I had one of the beverages with blueberry vodka. The price for the 23 oz beer and the tall vodka beverage were very reasonable in my opinion. Many people have raved about the pub chips so we ordered them as an appetizer. They were good, although we did ask for the cheese sauce on the side and it did not get delivered to our table that way. However, $8.00 for the amount of chips, just didn't seem worth the price and we probably will not order them again for that reason. Our son ordered the cajun chicken caesar salad along with a side of fries. He liked it and was very happy that the chicken was served warm instead of cold. I had the cherry chicken salad which was also very good. I would have preferred that the salad be served with mixed greens (Mesculin mix, arugula, etc), instead of the romaine mix, but that is just a preference on my part. My husband ordered a cup of vegetable soup that was outstanding and meatloaf with mashed potatoes which he also said was good. Our bill was $51 and some change and was actually less than I had expected it to be. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that it was buy one, get one salad tonight so the chicken caesar was no charge. We will definitely return to Peterlin's. I'd love to see some non-fried sandwich items added to the menu. Maybe a chicken wrap with grilled chicken instead of chicken fingers? Good luck and welcome to the neighborhood!

Peterlin's is a very good bar and an above-average restaurant. I like the decor and the service. The beer menu is good and as long as you can accept that this is more of a bar than a restaurant, the food is decent.

Headed towards Sushi House but saw that Peterlin's was not open and switched plans, glad we did. The food was FANTASTIC!!! Started with the Blackbean and corn guac. it was a great twist on traditional guac, and the chips were hot and fresh. Then the soup, home made and great, wish the cup was bigger. I had the meat loaf and it was great. Can't wait to go back!

It was good food. We ordered the appetizer that was the chips and than ordered to meals that came with a side of chips. I wish the waitress would have explained that they were the same so we didn't pay $8 for that appetizer. It was good service. I would maybe go again but there are places in the area that have better food and service for the same price.

First time for us at Peterlin's. The atmosphere is clean and new, just a bit dark and basic. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the sirloin, which was outstanding, cooked perfectly, the potatoes and veggie also, very good. The side salad tasted like salad in a bag, not that great, and dressings sound better than they taste. Overall, we were impressed with the food, too bad the ambience is so basic.

We've been regulars since they opened. Love to support local businesses! The specials are great. Tuesday it's 2-1 entree salads and Wednesday it's Happy Hour all night long. The homemade soups are delicious and the bruschetta and fried goat cheese appetizers are amazing. Don't miss the pork tenderloin and mashed potatoes either. I've eaten at Peterlins 4 times now & decided to post a review. It has became a new favorite for my parents, but I'm not sure if I'd give it more than 3 maybe 4 stars. My husband & 6 yr daughter seem to enjoy it. Decor is simple but nice &clean. Staff has always been friendly. We really enjoyed chatting with Kim, who is one of the owners. They have about 6-8 items on the kids menu, which is a good thing. My 6 yr old seems to be happy with the food, although she did not like the chicken tenders - which didn't look appealing to me. She likes the Caribbean mango dressing, so she has a side salad which has been fresh each time. They have a good selection of craft beers, including local brews, which is important to us. Their house pinot noir was pretty good, but that's the extent to which we've tried they bar. The menu - here is where I have trouble. I am not an unusually healthy eater, but I don't like fried, heavy, greasy, foods. There is a lot of that type of food on the menu. O.k. it is a bar so some is expected. There are quite a few sandwiches that sound good, but everything is on some sort of white enriched flour roll, wrap or bread. It would be great to have some sort of good whole wheat or whole grain option. So far, I've had the salmon salad & the chicken tortilla salad, on 3 visits - both were very fresh and good. I tried the mac & cheese with chicken, which was decent, but, again, white pasta - not a huge fan. One member of our party enjoyed the turkey burger. 3 people enjoyed the meatloaf, including my 6 yr old. The sweet potato fries are really good, as is the guac & totilla chips. Their house made potato chips are very good, too. Please bring in some sort of real whole grain/whole wheat options. We will return, I'm sure. I hope this place succeeds.

This place has a decent but limited tap selection. Food is amazing. We ordered the Philly Cheese Steak spring rolls and the mac and cheese with sausage. I would rate the mac and cheese up there other the big boys like Zingermans They are going through a much needed expansion (read MORE TAPS!) . This may be our new local hot spot. Kudos to Allison the bartender for amazing customer service also. To sum it up gray food and great service.

I've been here three times now so I can give an honest review. The decor is ok just your average looking restaurant with a small bar. They have good happy hour with two dollar domestics, cannot remember other drink prices and buy one get one appetizers. Problem is the apps are pretty disappointing. I've had the catfish tenders each time. I still cannot tell if they are fresh. Last time I went the fish had a really strong scent and was watery telling me that they were once frozen, yuck. The chicken tenders are thin flat (thick as a pinky finger on a petite woman) and directly out of a bag from the freezer. That one is a guarantee. Also had the chicken and black bean egg rolls. I bought these once at gordon foods and they were the same exact ones. As far as entrees I've had a Philly cheese steak( actually pretty good and seemingly fresh), burger( lousy pre patties beef),da Cuban ( very good). The service was very good and the owners were there each time I have been there. I root for every restaurant that opens in Farmington because not many good ones. This one is on the track of failure. People go out to dinner to get food they can't make at home. Charging people money for frozen gross food is actually embarrassing and I hope the owners read this because I grew up in this industry and this is not the way to do it. On the other side there are a few dishes that are quite good and most importantly homemade. If this place turns everything homemade they have a chance, if not yet another vacant building in a Farmington strip mall. Oh and to the several five star reviews.....seriously?

I have lived in downtown Farmington now for 42 years. I absolutely love the city. I have been eating at a brand new restaurant now for 3-4 weeks since the opening. Downtown Farmington always had the downtown charm of older cities in SE lower Michigan. Farmington has both middle and upper class residents throughout the years. I kind of fit in the middle of it here. Peterlin's is owned and operated by Zach Peterlin who is known from past experience from several renowned Michigan restaurants around SE lower Michigan. Let me start out telling you that Zach has kept his menu at the start only concentrating on mostly on "specialties" with plenty of both daily, and Happy Hour specials. I have been eating Zach's entrees at this new restaurant for 3-4 times a week now and have been very happy with both my own entree as well as the outstanding service while I dined. The Meat Loaf, Macaroni and Cheese, Fish, and Linguini are out of this world. Soups are homemade and are very well prepared and tasty from many years of experience. Try it.....You will love it!

We went here Saturday with our son, daughter in law and grandkids. We got there about five and were seated promptly. Our server was a very nice young man who quickly took our drink orders. My martini was perfect. We order the fried goat cheese appetizer and it was fantastic, great taste, big enough to share, wonderful toasted bread with the melty goat cheese. I had the Pork tenderloin with sweet chili sauce and it was tremendous. Just the right amount of heat in the sauce, pork cooked perfectly, mashed potatoes were yummy. The whole dish was just wonderful. My husband had the philly cheesesteak sandwich, he liked it but wished for more cheese. Our son had the Cuban sandwich and said it was very tasty. Daughter in law had the chopped salad, it was large and loaded, she loved it and it was lunch for the next day. They have a nice little kids menu also. I like the atmosphere of the place, we would definately go back again.
