Kylee f. Felt my review was derogatory because I referred to the waitress as elderly. It was a factual statement. She was elderly and slow; felt sorry for her. What is not factual about the review which details the experience. Sorry if people don't like what others experienced. Seems the restaurant has problems. It is a struggle all around, but why am I not entitled to getting value for my hard earned money?

I'm not really a fan of this place, though everytime I go the service is great, staff friendly and helpful. However the food isn't that good to me. I usually get sick afterward if i eat anything other than a simple salad. Our work is nearby so they deem we do all of our yearly peer reviews there for every employee during lunch. Most in our office don't like it there but it's on the boss's dime so we don't have a choice. It's usually pretty cold in there and the menu is so limited in paletable choices and drink offerings. You can only get hot tea, no hot coca, or even coffee but I could be wrong on that last one. The salads are good but avoid the pink/purple house made dressing. The bread is also very good and the chicken noodle soup. So yeah, I'm not saying the food is bad but I just don't like it and it never sits right with me, but if you do go, go for a salad, soup and bread all the way. I wouldn't come here on my own and I wouldnt recommended it. I feel I can speak from a place of experience as we sincerely come here 20+ times or more a year.

This place doesn't seem to overly busy during the week. I've had a couple of different things here. Their hamburger is quite good and HUGE. The fries are really good too, thick cut french-fries. Their baby back ribs are really good, it surprised me. The serving is quite large, a half rack was more than enough for me. They have a pretty good selection of American food.

My uncle used to eat at this restaurant frequently and I accompanied him a few times but was totally unimpressed each time. Mediocre food, limited menu and fair to poor service. The ribs were tough and specialty salads were nothing special. My wife and I finally had to be honest and insist eating family dinners elsewhere.

I had their special burger which is the size of my face. Literally. And my friends had the wings meal. Burger was one of the worst burgers I've ever had. It was not seasoned therefore bland. It was slightly over cooked from the medium I asked for. I ate it because I was hungry but by far the worst meal I've had as far back as I can remember. The chicken wings were actually quite good and juicy. Didn't even need the variety of sauces they offer. Oh, wait not really variety. Ketchup, red hot, tabasco, chipotle mayo, and bbq. Sounds like a lot but nope. Garlic toast was also pretty good. If you go, do yourself a favor and do not get the burger. I doubt that the other burgers have a different patty.

Mediocre at best. Very limited menu but generous portions. If your looking for something even close to being healthy this is not your place. If your looking for a modestly priced slew of meat and starch its for you. I doubt very much I will ever be back.

The only reason I am giving two stars is because the food was actually quite decent. I got a patty melt with bacon and the small fries (not ranch fries which aren't ranch fries at all but rather large cut steak fries). It was good, very good sized patty that was cooked perfectly. The food however is not the reason for the poor review. The reason is for the rude management and waitstaff. We were sat right next to an 8 top with a bunch of kids even though the restaurant was fairly empty. Fine, kids don't really bother me. The manager walks over and scolds the parents saying that people are complaining about the kids (which were closest to us, in the VERY rear of the restaurant) and told them that they could either have the kids sit down or leave. They were already on their way out the door I think just waiting to be cashed out. It was just very rude, and probably embarrassing for the family being asked to leave like that. They had a large table, obviously ordered lots of food, and were already about to leave. The kicker is that right after the family left, the manager, probably looking for some kind of validation for her actions walked over to our table which was directly behind the large family table exactly where the kids in question were, and asked "were those kids bothering you?" To which I replied "it's three o'clock on a Sunday, no they weren't bothering me, in fact they were cute and I think it was inappropriate what was said to them." She replies by saying oh well I gave them a choice and they made their decision. THEY WERE ALREADY LEAVING. It's like telling somebody to go drive away at a green light. ALREADY ON IT MA'AM. Bus woman doesn't ask if we are finished simply looks you in the eye expectantly and grunts "you done?" Eye rolls seen from 'round the world coming from waitresses taking orders. Shame for somewhere with decent food to ruin it with a crap attitude and service. Also, one last note, our waitress was fine until we were ready to cash out - then she walked around for 10ish minutes with our cards/cash in apron, and proceeded to take the orders of THREE other tables AND enter them into the computer all while avoiding eye contact before getting us taken care of.

Time warp! Sad excuse for ribs and the chicken is dry! Only reason to give this place more than one star is their BBQ sauce is good! Service is slow and the staff and guests here are all old and sad looking. The place needs a new face lift and the menu needs to be less Coney Island! Maybe I'm harsh as this is the old folks hang out and I can only hope to be old one day!

I have never been to a restaurant that has such disrespectful and rude wait staff. The food was great but I will never return due to how terrible the service was. The waitresses were rolling their eyes in front of customers, they asked a family to leave, while they were waiting for their bill, because their kids were being "too loud". After the family left we were asked if the kids were bothering us and of course we said no, but at that point it didn't matter. When we finished our appetizer the lady came to take the plate and instead of asking us if we were finished or if she can take the plate away she says "you done?". When we were finally ready to cash out our waitress took our cards to cash us out, took the order of 3 tables and entered them into the computer between each order, while carrying our credit cards in her pocket.

I have have been here many times and some these reviews really surprise me..The food is great quality the portions are large and prices are very reasonable. Who cares about heart smart! It's a BBQ restaurant. The St Louis ribs are classic nobody makes them like they do.. It's what they r known for. What got me to write this review is their new Beef Brisket. Fantastic great smoky Bbq flavor and very tender. Not many places in Detroit area for great beef brisket especially Farmington Hills.. Brass Pointe is a great Bbq Rest..

We have been here a few times, but don't go very often because the menu is somewhat limited. How is it limited? Well it is clearly focused on broasted chicken and spare ribs. Yes, they have some other dishes like prime rib and hamburgers, but if you look around the place, you will that most folks come her for the ribs and broasted chicken. And they do those well. Now I love both ribs and broasted chicken, but how often can you eat just that and what are the chances that your dining partner(s) will be satisfied with this monochromatic a menu? Well, I was really surprised when my wife suggested the Brass Pointe for dinner. She is not a big broasted chicken advocate. But she did and we went. We both ordered combination dinners containing broasted chicken and ribs. Mine was slightly less money and came with a half chicken; leg, wing, breast and thigh. Hers came with two breasts. Other than that, we both selected different side dishes. She went with a house salad and potato wedges and I went with a baked potato and Cole Saw. Both of us got the huge piece of garlic toast. We both left stuffed and we both left with takeout boxes suitable for another meal at home. The portions are big and the pricing is relatively low. That explains why the place is almost always packed. It is not a fancy place by any stretch of the imagination. The sour cream for my baked potato came in a plastic pouch that one rips open. The butter for the baked potato comes in tiny plastic cups that have peel-off tops. It is lowest common denominator treatment, but the staff is attentive and friendly and the food is good and plentiful.

stay far far away.i ordered rare prime rib-i don't know what was served to me.i think it was a steak with juice smothered all over it.when i told the waiter,i wanted it rare ,to leave the juice off of it-he brought me back another piece of meat that was well done.prime-ha-i think not i also had the slab of ribs-they were disgusting also,poor ribs were so dry.the baked potato seemed like its been cooking a long time. it was dry and hard..the fries looked awful too.and to think people like this place better than the boneyard. maybe it was good some years ago.the sour cream came in a condiment package.yuck

What a horrible experience, came in at 5:15, nobody for 15 minutes, came to our table, one waitress, then pulls aside another one and says " That's your Table", then we heard "No, I have a Table I have been watching T.V.. They seriously fought over who would wait on us, while we could hear them!!!! We left and the owner looked surprised. Never eat here

A place like this could do a better job on there ribs, which is what there known for. The Ribs I got were terrible. YOu have to bite on the ribs like a dog just to get meat of the bone. I wouldnt even feed these ribs to my dog. Just terrible.

I felt I had to review because the other reviews simply don't do it justice, well, to me at least. Some background: I've been going to this restaurant since I was 3. At 19, I'm decently sure I've never been to a single restaurant more times. The thing is, time after time and year after year, I've never left hungry and never been let down or disappointed in the quality. When going with family or friends, we always get the same thing: The Rib Dinner Special for $10-ish, the Broasted Wing dinner for $8-ish, and extra bread. I've never had garlic bread I've enjoyed more. Definitely share the food so everyone can try everything. The broasted chicken is significantly better than the barbecue, in my personal opinion. If you want cheesy, beefy goodness, the enchiladas are also a good choice. If you want an appetizer that will most likely fill up your party, the nachos on a good day are comparable to those in Mexican Town. I also don't know what everyone's complaining about in terms of the ranch; it might get a bit watery but that's due to the washed lettuce. Try it with their cottage fries and they can't be beat. The staff is always courteous and will continue to check on you frequently, even when they hit busy nights. All the intricacies of our orders always shine through. Each diner will always leave with at LEAST another solid meal worth of leftovers. My parents are immigrants and generally stay away from typical American fair, but Brass Point is the one place they're always happy to head back to, and so am I.

I'd say that Peter summed it up pretty good. This is a restaurant that my husband's family frequents on a regular basis. I think this is that type of place...it has a following of regulars, even if they are a bit older. I'm pretty confident that the patrons in this restaurant have been coming here for awhile. The main dining room gets really busy and noisy. Usually we go in a group of 7, so they sit us in a separate room that seems to be reserved for larger groups. The server knows my husband's family by name & she takes good care of them. The broasted chicken is pretty good. Salad is good, dressings are just ok. As Peter said, the fries are huge slices of potatoes. No complaints here though. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I haven't met too many potatoes I didn't like. Meals also come with gigantic slices of garlic toast. The family loves it, but I prefer rolls or breadsticks, so I usually pass. Tonight I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich w/ swiss cheese & bacon. I liked that they pound the chicken breast to fit the large bun instead of sticking an oddly shaped chicken breast on a bun. It makes it much easier to eat and enjoy. No dressing, just lettuce & tomato, which leaves it a little plain. My husband loves their burritos. They have a small selection of Mexican food. His plate was HUGE. Two very large burritos w/ cheese melted on top, rice and beans (also w/ cheese melted on top). The beans are pretty good! The bar area is small, but very nice. No worries about a smokey atmosphere now, but you will leave smelling like the kitchen.

good food, been coming here since the 80s, food is on the greasy side, garlic bread is good, portions are overly generous, very reasonable prices, prefer the chicken and white fish to the ribs, ribs are tougher and not the lean type baby backs, slightly nasty bathrooms that are old and always seem like they could use a cleaning, bar area nasty smoke smell is now gone-thank god! very similar in menu to Bone Yard which is further north up orchard lake rd, good value for the money and large party room was added on several years ago when they lobby was added onto and thats nice to have

The Brass Pointe is one of the better bar-b-que places I frequent. Known for excellent ribs, they are well cooked, but not over cooked and dry. The rib meals can come with cottage fries which are like french fries on steroids. Think of a potato cut into 4 or 5 large slices. Tasty, yes, but not for those eating "heart smart". The house salads consistently come with very fresh lettuce and vegetables. The Italian dressing is mediocre and tastes like bottled. The ranch dressing is watery and disappointing. The bar-b-qued chicken is excellent. They also offer broasted chicken which I have yet to try. I have had the grilled samon a couple times and it has tended to be over a bit over cooked. Service is fine. The mens bathroom is usually wanting for a good clean up. The waiting area, which was remodeled not too long ago, is handsome and includes a bar. The patrons tend to be a bit on the older side and fond of smoking, so even the non smoking areas can be smokey on occasion. The Brass Pointe is not fine dining, but for reasonably priced comfort food, it's one of my favorites.

Had dinner here last night. A little perplexed by the menu - the majority of the menu is BBQ or Mexican - not sure if I have seen those two categories featured in a restaurant together before. Went with the Prime Rib ($17.99). Menu made it sound like you get to choose one of the following: potato, salad, or coleslaw, but apparently the or only pertains to the final two. So my entree came with garlic bread, baked potato, and salad. The piece of garlic bread was the length of a football. The baked potato came dry with a couple of packets of butter and a pre-packaged small sour cream. The salad was lettuce, shredded purple cabbage, and shredded carrots. Salad tasted fresh. The prime rib was tasty, but not what you would expect when you order prime rib. It was thinner than your typical prime rib cut and instead of roasted, it was grilled (crosshatched sear marks). My companions ordered the broasted chicken for two (16.29). In terms of chicken, two breasts, two thighs, two legs, and two wings. Decent size pieces but not huge. Came with two salads, two pieces of garlic bread and two orders of potatoes (one went baked, one wedges - which are the only two choices). Broasted chicken was solid - nothing to write home about, but just plain old, good, crispy-skin, broasted chicken. Service was very attentive at the beginning, but the restaurant was full by the time we were done and as such, server had trouble getting back over to us. Ladies clearing the table pitched in and took care of the check. Wish the garlic bread came out when you sat down instead of arriving with your entree. Guess they can't do this due to the Mexican items on the menu... Booth near window had a big draft and as such, we felt a little chilly during dinner. Unfortunately, they do not appear to accept Discover, but we did not ask. 3 1/2 stars - rounding up in the holiday spirit.

We have been patrons of Brass Pointe for over 20 years. Most of the time we did carry out . Normally the order had something missing like paid for extra BBQ sauce or we always ask for no cabbage as I have a very serious allergy and usually they put it on. We have checked our order before leaving but not every time as we ask them about the omission, etc. and they say it is ok. I have been in the restaurant business for over 40 years and did not make a big deal out of it as it does happen. About 2 months ago we placed an order for 2 combo plates, a chicken/ribs and a shrimp/ribs .my husband only checked the salad. At home when we opened it there was no shrimp. I called the restaurant and they sounded like they did not believe me, but instead of telling me to come and get the shrimp they said the next time you order we will give you the shrimp. We will put your name in the "book" we called Friday and placed an order over $40.00 and I asked for the shrimp. Put on hold for a very long time while they checked the book. A woman came back on said name not in the book. Told her the story she put me on a very long hold and a different woman came on and said name not in the book. Of course I cancelled order. I have never seen a restaurant treat a customer like this. To be accused of trying to steal a few pieces of shrimp is unacceptable. I have never treated any one like that and any decent restaurant would not either. So check your carry outs as they will take your money and not make it right. SHAME ON YOU BRASS POINTE. I will share this with every one I know.
