This Big Boy is always a great place to go. The food isn't outstanding, but it's still good for the price. Shakes are to die for! Staff is always very friendly and welcoming. A friend was visiting from Chicago, and she had a great time here. Wait staff gave her a souvenir ketchup bottle that was empty to take back home as a joke. We honestly didn't think we could get the ketchup bottle, but they gave us one, and it was pretty neat. Of course I'll be back for the killer breakfast and shakes!

I came in for breakfast the morning that I had flown into town, and ended up ordering from the lunch menu. I heard that the breakfast menu was awesome here but still opted out and ordered the Turkey Reuben. I chose not to get any sides of French fries since my grandma didn't get any. I will go back and check again if it was a extra charge for that, because usually you wont get charged. When I got my Reuben, it was Grandma had the Hamburger melt and LOVED it. It's one her favorite things there. Let's just say she would've loved to have finished the whole thing, but ended up taking the rest home. I had the Turkey Reuben sandwich, which was really good. I love my Reuben Sandwiches, but this was at a whole new level for me. It was light, and tasty. Not that filling and bleh feeling like how it is when u eat a regular reuben sammy. All in all, we stuck to coffee and our sandwiches for this trip! Great service, the waitress and grandma knows each other pretty well, so its a nice small town joint!

Terrible dinner food. Had the Cajun chicken pasta Alfredo. Pretty sure I had no Alfredo sauce and the "chicken breast" looked like a cut up chicken patty. Gross. Redeeming value? Cookies and cream shake.

It's your typical Big Boy restaurant. Not bad, but nothing that really makes it standout from the rest. The staff seemed friendly. The food is fairly priced and decent so yeah... it's really one of the few places in Essexville you can go to and know what to expect.

There is something to be said for familiar and they get a star for that. We come here at least a half dozen times a year for something quick and convenient. We know what we are getting and pleased with it. With all of this said the reason I went with a 3 is that it is a bit boring. The salad bar is always the same and varies with overall quality. This is also the same with menu items. Come here for the comfort!
