There's nothing I can say but good things about this place. Its a nice formal setting with delicious food that's not your standard fair, at prices that wont break the bank. The menu is under priced for the taste, but understandable due to being in a rural area. We has the lasagna and walleye Creole. The lasagna was to die for. I can't remember the last time I've had lasagna that tasted so good. The walleye creole pasta was great too but slightly messy to eat. Will definitely come back next time we're in town.

My boyfriend and I went on a Thursday and there were only two other tables there, both large parties. The service was terribly slow, they messed up our order, and we were constantly reminded that everything was so slow because there was a table of 14 in front of us.

Fantastic! My hubby had heard it was good but we hadn't been there. We were headed to Toledo and needed a meal. Decided to give it a whirl. wWOWw is all I can say! Being in such a rural place we didn't expect that! When got to our destination we both were telling people they have to Go! Yummy and atmosphere is great!

Out in the fog of Erie, Michigan, this French flavored gem has great food, affordable wine, and an owner couple that knows how to run a 'homemade' and unique foodie hideaway. With the great prices and great food, I'd dine here once a week if it weren't so far from my home in Ann Arbor. When they have a night with live jazz, everything is just magically. Highly recomended! Ignore any of the clueless two star reviews too!

As far as French food goes, there is nothing in the Toledo area... except for The Frog Leg Inn. This wonderful spot is located just over the border in Erie, Michigan. If you live in the Old West End, you just drive up Detroit for about 10-15 minutes and BAM! You are in heaven. Catherine and Tad run a tight ship, serving up more than incredible food--at reasonable prices. While Chef Tad is in the kitchen working his magic, Catherine and her fun waitstaff are making you feel at home, helping you with picking out wines and just being all around pleasant. This is a fave for any special occasion, but also great for no reason at all. The fact that you can enjoy dinner for two and a bottle of wine at Frog Leg Inn cheaper than most Toledo restaurants (like at the Docks, Mancy's, etc.) is almost SICK. When you go, do yourself a favor and order the house dressing for your salad. It's AMAZING. The menu is pretty much proper French fare with adventurous specials, thanks to Chef Tad. I suggest reservations on special dates, like Valentines, etc.

This is easily one of our most favorite restaurants to visit. We live in the Old West End in Toledo, and the drive up to Erie Michigan couldn't be easier for us. We just take detroit north, and 10 minutes later we've arrived! They very recently re-did the interior of the Frog Leg Inn, and I have to admit I miss the quaintness and homeyness of the previous interior decorations. They used to have quilts and wine bottles on the walls, but now it's more contemporary with some funky wall sculptures. While we come for the food, we also come for the friendly faces. The staff make an effort of letting you know they remember you. It's really a great feeling to feel so welcomed. We haven't been there for their live music, but they have a new piano in the dining room. I suspect it's a really great experience, having live music played while you enjoy fine country style french food. They often have seasonal specials, and I almost always try one when ordering. All of their standard fair is fantastic, but a bit on the heavier side with cream and butter. The specials typically are a little lighter and fresher. This weekend I had a grilled squab, but the mayan lamb chops also really looked good. The prices are surprisingly affordable, given the quality. The Frog Leg in is the type of restaurant I would think more people would be talking about, but I think because it's in Michigan, it doesn't ge the attention it deserves. Looking for a romantic place to take your sweet heart? Consider the Frog Leg Inn.

My husband and I love this place! If you've never been, you MUST try the baked brie and the chicken forrestiere (I'm sure I spelled that wrong). The staff is amazingly friendly, and they will offer up great suggestions for wine pairings. I've never had a disappointing experience here, and have turned a lot of friends on to them.

Walking into a nearly empty restaurant at 6pm should have raised suspicion that this wasn't going to be an out of this world dining experience, but we braved the crowd (or lack thereof) and started perusing the menu. Frog Leg Inn itself is also situated in the middle of nowhere, but that's a different story. Admittedly, I found the old-fashioned rustic atmosphere to be an endearing change from the norm. Aside from the piercingly vibrant Grand Traverse Riesling, everything else was less than mediocre at best. My French Rustic Frog Legs were fried and were drowning in an indistinct, tasteless heavy cream sauce that looked like a alfredo-thousand island hybrid. I could only finish half of the dish before pushing it aside. The sweet potato fries were equally pathetic -- crusty on the outside and limp (even frozen) on the inside. My friend did not fare better with the seasonal special of the cornish hen either. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that one cannot find hard-core traditional French prep here. My tastebuds were sorely unimpressed, and it took a few good hours before I could fully erase the heavy cream-ladened feeling. Seriously, please consider a glass -- I recommend a bottle -- of the GT Riesling as a pre-meal remedy. It might help ease stomaching the food Frog Leg Inn serves.

Great food, great service, great time. There's not much else to say about this place. The frog legs were good and the duck was awesome. The owner was walking around all night checking in with people making sure everything was good. I can't wait to go back here!

Ah, foodie heaven. The Frog Leg Inn is a quiet gem in "downtown" Erie. If you've ever wanted to walk into a restaurant and have it feel like home, it's here; it's not dinner, it's a delightful conversation. It's banter with the bartender and pouring over the menu with the server and laughing over cheers with the owners and chefs who come to your table. You can be a first timer or a Tuesday night regular, it doesn't matter. Now into the food. I should preface this review with admission that I just left The Frog Leg Inn and my pants are unbuttoned in the car because I'm simply that full. I am by no means a French cuisine expert, but the menu walks you through a palette curated by a French chef/comfort food lover. The herb crusted prime rib has ruined me for all other meats. I'm excited to head back and brave, for the very first time, frog legs. I have zero doubt they'll be delicious!

I will admit that I've never had frog legs... but that wasn't going to stop me from eating here! One of my best friends in the world was having a family gathering here for dinner. She was quick to invite me along. I was thrilled that she did! This cute little restaurant has character, ambience and comfort! This great little place was dimly lit for a cozy environment but still with plenty of seating for large groups like ours. Our waitress did a great job with our party. Drinks were brought out immediately and refilled continuously throughout our meal.... all with a smile! French bread baskets are brought out complimentary for the table. This always puts a smile on my face! My friend and I decided to try the goat cheese and peach appetizer. The large amount of creamy goat cheese is brought out with slices of fresh french bread. The flavor of the cheese topped with the peaches made for an incredible taste bud explosion. This was an absolute winner! Plus there was plenty to take home for another filling snack! For my entree I went with the baked salmon in a fabulous roasted tomato cream sauce. The salmon was baked perfectly! The portion size was just right. The tomato and onions laid gently across the top of this dish which was like the cherry on top! I would highly recommend this dish to anyone. The tremendous flavors of the ingredients sang in harmony. La La La! This great restaurant is definitely going on my list of places to visit again when I come back home. Thank you for an incredible dining experience!
