Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Last time I will go to this place, manager over heard us saying we still have not had a waitress bring us water, he comes up to the table, picks up a coaster, and he says, umm yes she has come to the table, I can tell because I see these coasters, in a rude fashion, we had a party of five and a projected bill of at least 150 dollars, and that's the manager. We got up and walked out, didn't catch his name, but he had a beard, prob in his 50s, and a shorter guy. We left and went to clover leaf instead, great instant friendly service.

It smelled weird in there. Like a wet dog. Food was, well the food was Olive Garden Italian food. Service was standard.

This is a decent Olive Garden and we tend to go to this location over others in our area simply because there is usually never a wait even during peek dinner hours on a Weekend. I think the longest we ever did have to wait for a table was five minutes. I typically get the same thing every time which is the Gorgonzola Steak Alfredo. I like my steak rare to medium rare and I think out of all of the times I have ordered it they have only been able to meet this temperature request maybe twice. Every other time it is always well done. I get it, they are small medallions of beef and they cook quick, but any person with cooking skills should be able to cook a piece of meat, whether small or large, to the temp requested. My favorite time to go there though is obviously in the late Summer and early Fall for the Never Ending Pasta Bowl. What can I say? I am a fat kid who loves pasta! This year they stepped it up a bit with the chicken add on you could get. It was much better than last years option which was just thin flavorless dry strips of rubbery chicken. This time around it was breaded and flash fried (think Chicken Parm, but slightly thinner and cut in to strips). Very tasty. As for service we have never really had any issues and things usually go well in that department. Here is a little nifty FYI for you - if you are a fan of their Roscato Rosso Dolce wine they offer and would like to enjoy it at home, Randazzo's offers it for half the price. At least, that is as of the last time we shopped there.

Went here for dinner last night and the food was by far the worst ever. Dry chicken and pasta, little to no sauce, and portion that were dismal at best. This location sucks and I won't be going back. I feel sorry for the wait staff that serves this garbage.

Not bad over here, I am always in a rush at lunchtime, so if I haven't been greeted at my table within 8 minutes I leave. One time out of five I walk. I understand that they are all young people learning about being a server, so I cut them slack. But the ones who get the job done fast and furious get the ten dollars tip. I only get the salad and soup with one refill which it always consistent and fresh. Slackers get a dollar.

She brought the bread and only 1 of the breadsticks were stale, the she put a plate of room temperature ravioli on my table and warned me to be careful because it was hot. Is that a Jedi mind trick? The food was reasonably priced and the waitress ok, but the pasta was so salty I couldn't eat it

This review is not about food. I was an invited guest and they picked the restaurant. We walked in and it smelled funny. Not a good aroma that you would expect from a restaurant but like a barn or stable. I asked the hostess of the restaurant had it flooded and she looked at me crazy. Another person in our party said to her that it smells funny. She politely sat us without responding but from the short time it took the waitress to come over we decided to leave. We walked by the hostess stand and she asked what was wrong and we said the odor was unappetizing and she just looked at is. I'm not sure what the smell was but it definitely should be addressed. (It was not a sour mop)

4.5 Rating. For some reason we like to try all the Olive Garden's and we were pleasantly surprised by this location. Before coming the wife was worried about going to EastPointe because of the area (usually the suburban shopping area locations are better) The area surrounding is a bit rough and run down but the Olive Garden was great! The hostess seemed disinterested and flustered, but the rest of the service was great. This location is clean and in excellent condition, you also have great window views for the inside to outside and the trees outside look great and I can imagine it looks picturesque int eh summer. Quality of food was consistent (Lasagna El Frito) Salad was good and Bread sticks perfect. As usually the Raspberry Cheesecake was delicious. The manager was checking in at tables and I noticed everyone inside the restaurant was prompt, courteous and seemed to make it a point to be friendly and take care of everyone. A great experience overall!

Food is good but service is sometimes lacking. Our waitress kept forgetting to bring drinks, failed to answer our questions, and took forever to get things.

Ohhhhh Olive Garden, how you have declined over the years. This OG is literally a block from where my boyfriend and I live. We walked in, and got sat at the same table as last time (oooo freaky). Our server, Brittney, was extremely sweet, and lovely. I love the Zappa Toscana soup, and I ordered the garlic rosemary chicken, while my boyfriend got the chicken Alfredo. Mine was ok, it was a little cold, and it looked and tasted soggy. My boyfriends looked like a frozen dinner entrée that just came out the microwave. It just looked so blah, and not very well presented. Can't believe mine was $14! The place was dirty. The carpet looked terrible, the chairs were all discolored and faded too. Brittney was great, and we gave her a 45% tip. She really tried to push items, but we just weren't interested. I feel bad for her working in such dump. Olive Garden need to redo all their restaurants. The décor is very 90s, and just so dirty. No wonder they're struggling!

Disappointment! We thought about making OG a weekly weeknight routine because the last visit was really great. Well, last week, we had a terrible experience! After we ordered, we never got our salads until after out entrees arrived. I never got my ice tea refilled and my husband was promised coffee that never came. Staff knew of our displeasure and did nothing. My husband left the tip because he want to "do the right thing." The right thing is that we won't be back for a awhile ... a long while.

I went to this Olive Garden with my family for Easter dinner. By far the worst food at a restaurant I have EVER had in my whole life. Sad part is, I wanted my family to have a good holiday, so I didn't take it back. I just let the guy take it and paid for it. The waiter was extremely kind and great at his job. I ordered salmon with broccoli and salad. When I got my plate I realized it did not come with a potato, which I found extremely odd. The salmon didn't taste like real salmon at all, but a disgusting over-sized patty that looked like salmon with fake grill marks. The broccoli was HALF YELLOW and tasted like garbage - literally. Needless to say I had to go home and eat dinner afterwards, because I couldn't stomach what they tried to pass as food!

Very Disappointed with the service and friendliness of the manager!! Normally the manager would help in the event of something happening. Not 2 weeks ago! Wont be going back anytime soon!! :(

No no no people!! Why go to a chain Italian place when there are so many amazing independent ones in Metro Detroit. First of all is there some sort of magnetic current that surrounds this Olive Garden? Seriously!! No matter the time, day, or weather this place is always packed. I'm talking full parking lot and people parked on Gratiot. Many times I've swerved out of the way to avoid getting side swiped by some ninny b-lining for that dang Olive Garden! The quality of the food is well it's Gordon Food Service food. Nothing wrong with that but I don't need to go to a restaurant to have it served to me by some girl with neon pink 2 inch long finger nails. I've never ever liked this Olive Garden. It's just not great. Because my family does I have been there on more than one occasion so it's had plenty of ops to redeem itself. Attempts were made but none successful. Oh well. I'd rather pay more money for fresh authentic Italian any day!! Sorry Olive Garden. I just like you as a friend.

Jonathan was and excellent server. Olive Garden is a bit over priced but I love me some low brow italian.

Really Eastpointe? Really? Driving down Gratiot on most evenings you will find the parking lot full here and people coming & going, more than any other place in the area. I have to admit some 15 or so years ago when this place opened the service and the quality were pretty good but as a previous reviewer mentioned it's gone down somewhat. Seafood pasta here when it first opened was excellent, now every time I get it, the execution, flavor & portion gets worse so I haven't even ordered it in the last few years. My girl loves the Zuppa Tuscana so much she got a recipe for it on the internet and made her own. Her's is as good (dare I say better and heartier than OG's.) She also loved the Mascato desert wine they featured a few months ago. I get the pasta fagioli once in awhile and that's pretty good but sometimes it doesn't taste the same. Some of the specials like Beef medallions tasted like it was reheated in the microwave after being cooked the previous day and there was so much sodium in it I thought I was going to pass out my blood pressure was so high. Corporate sets them up w/ good inexpensive wine selections and their bar is stocked with standard good stuff. The endless soup & salad at lunch is a good deal. I just can't believe why this place is so loved by the locals, it's not THAT good. Maybe I'm ordering the wrong thing. I'd like to hear from people who love this place and why. What are you ordering that's so great????? 4 Stars when they first opened but has drifted down. It doesn't seem to matter to most everyone else though because they come here in droves. The Olive Garden on Hall Rd is 3.75 (= 4 Stars) The food and service seem a notch better. 3.5 Stars

I grew up right around the corner from this place and it's always been comfort food. If I'm having a bad day, the soup, salad and breadsticks does the trick. The service and quality has declined over the years but I still go there. They have many vegetarian options and it doesn't break my wallet.

Through the years, this place has had its ups and downs. I'm not sure if it has new management or what exactly has happened, but the staff is no friendly, attentive and rid of the not-quite-English they spoke a while back. We ate there Sat Friday and had a server we hadn't had before named Ryan S. he was friendly, fast, and professional. Couldn't ask for more.

Classic Olive Garden. The trademark Italian culinary excellence. For a chain restaurant, the food here is consistently great! For some reason the waitress we had this time seemed a bit "scattered" but we didnt suffer too much for it. I highly recommend the sampler, but stay away from the fried ravioli. They were hard and kind of bland.
