Returned in hoping for improvement....and it was there . Though the cooling was near non-existent , the food came quickly and hot. There appeared to be more help on a Sunday afternoon., but more help was obviously needed. No refill on coffee I guess saves on costs. The management still has a ways to go for this place to remain relevant.

Avoid. Any restaurant in the area is better than this Big Boy. Two friends and I went there at about 8:45PM on a Wednesday night. They close at 10:00, according to the hours posted on the door. After waiting 5 minutes to be seated (there was no one in front of us), it took another 10 minutes for a waitress to take our orders. Fast forward another 45 minutes and we still have no food. We complained to the manager, who seemed to do nothing at all about it. After sitting there for a full hour without being served anything but drinks (with no offers for refills), we walked out. This is rather inexcusable. It's a Wednesday night; they weren't busy; the kitchen was full of staff just hanging around, and honestly, how long does it take a line cook or two to prepare three meals? I've had positive experiences here and we used to go here frequently since it's just a few blocks from where we live. But no more. Nobody tried to stop us from leaving or offer an apology or a comp for a future visit. This may have been the worst greasy spoon diner experience I've ever had, due in large part to the incompetence of the staff and management. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. It's got to be better than this. AVOID.

The service at this establishment is poor. Took roughly 20 minutes to get our sandwhichs. We ordered waters to drink and did not receive a single refill. The place was not busy at all on this night. The food really left me underwhelmed. I ordered a turkey melt for 9 bucks. The sandwich tasted like it was heated up in the microwave and than sat in a hot cart too long before it was served.

I went here with my boyfriend. Our first impression was a freezing cold restaurant with servers who rushed is to order and consistently reminded us that they would be closing in 45 minutes. In spite of all the warning signs we decided to dine anyway. Our service we received was poor and inexperienced. Forgot items or certain modifications we requested. And to top it all off when my boyfriend received his water it had a spider in it. YES! A SPIDER! I was disgusted. A female manager came over. And apologized and bought "new" water... She then offered to take his coffee off the bill. For this horrible experience I expected the entire bill to be comped. After all we had to eat with our coats on it was so cold. Our food was screwed up and a spider was in our water. ! Not to mention there was no way We could have an appetite after that or even take a Togo box. I wasn't going to eat not another bite. Management was inexperienced and she had no clue on providing customer satisfaction. Never will I go there again. Unless they close it down and turn it into a completely different restaurant with new owners.

Can't really comment on the food because the last two times I visited, I was seated by the hostess but no one came around to take my order or offer drinks. Go figure. IDK where the disconnect is, but customers seated after me were taken care of. It's a chain restaurant, so I'm sure the food is on par with other Big Boys, but the customer service at this particular location is severely lacking, IMO. Roll the dice & give it a shot if you're in the neighborhood, but I'll honestly never go back ... ever. :(

Disgusting, the food tasted like they fired the entire kitchen, the manager then placed all the left overs in microwave. After being served this crap a 20 percent tip was out the question. I ordered breakfast, just Terrible.

My kids love to come here on the weekend for the breakfast bar . It's not as good as it use to be but it's still worth it.

Went to lunch with co-workers. My co-worker ordered spaghetti with meat sauce with a ceasar side salad with ranch dressing. Her salad was served after her pasta. The spaghetti came with a hair in it. The server picked the plate up did not make eye contact or offer a simple I'm sorry your pasta came with a hair in it. She carried it back to the kitchen when she came back it was pointed out that she had served a regular side salad with ranch, my co-worker stated at that point she would be fine with her pop she didn't want anything else. She brought a replacement plate of pasta anyway. Our server then avoided our table leaving us with out our check in order to pay and leave. When another co-worker asked for the manager, the manager did not make eye contact, and did not apologize for anything and went so far as to say the pasta salads on the salad bar that had that dried out skinned over appearance should not be maintained that they are not touched again until replaced regardless of how unappetizing they may appear. Not recommended.

I can't believe I'm the first one to review this Big Boy, I kind of feel special. Ok, to start the place really deserves 2 stars but I'm giving it a pity star because it's local and I still want it to survive so I can go there and see if things have improved. Pros: Hey, they created the double decker sandwich that McDonald's ripped off. The wait staff is attentive. Good breakfast specials (breakfast seems to be the most consistent quality), free newspaper, all you can eat Seafood bar (seasonal), breakfast bar, soup & salad bar, slim Jim, classic comfort food, Great Pea soup, bean w/ bacon and other soups (when done right) Comfortable. ONION RINGS!!! Good deserts that are classic. Big Boy is classic, I don't want to lose it. Cons: Inconsistent food quality, soup & salad bar sometimes not kept up. Pea soup left too long on the burner. Have you ever overcooked Pea Soup? Do you know what that tastes like? Marinara sauce for mozzarella sticks that looks like it sat out 3 days, spaghetti sauce that smelled like someone did something weird to it (don't ask) This is stuff that's occurred through the years mind you. Also, what did you do to the size of the Slim Jim? (franchise wide) also, isn't the bun supposed to be fresher? Big Boy sandwich needs to be mastered again, someone teach them how to toast, melt cheese, proper sauce amount, etc etc! It was better in the olden days and why is it so expensive now? I hate the new fries, why does every restaurant now have the same fries as Burger King now? BK fries blow.

Stopped in for a coffee on a recent visit. I've only been to this Big Boy a handful of times and it is a nice restaurant with a pretty standardized Big Boy layout, except this one does not have a lunch counter. Service here was friendly, even though they initially forgot that I was there. May have had something to do with the 'sit where you like' when I arrived. I'd never had that happen in any Big Boy before. They did another menu change since last time I was here and they have a bunch of new stuff, including a handful of new soups. If you're looking for a Big Boy, this one will do the trick.
