previous reviewer has it pretty much nailed. hillbilly bar to serve the truckers from across the street i'd imagine, and too far from corktown for hipsters to effectively gentrify (even though the cans of PBR are $1.50 cheaper than theyre accustomed to paying there). bartenders are friendly and the decor is a perfect time capsule. i wish i had this bar in my basement. honestly, looking at the grim exterior of the place i thought i was going to get a beatdown just for walking in, but something about this joint draws me back.
