My flight out of DTW was delayed pretty significantly, so I figured I'd grab some dinner. My boyfriend and I had a pretty decent dinner here, and our server (Aviyon) was very attentive and did a great job overall. I had the Cobb salad and enjoyed it--the price was okay and not entirely unexpected given the location (in an airport). I did think it could have used a little more avocado. I really appreciated that the staff didn't kick us out at closing time (8:00 pm on a Sunday night) and actually did not rush us at all.

Service was great! Sarah the server was on her game! Pleasant and efficient. Food was ok- I had the Classic Burger. It was just me and she was quick to serve after a long week in Detroit. Manager actually came by to check on me. So different from my last experience at the airport in Houston,Chili's, which was not good at all. First time here and look forward to coming back. Keep up the great work Detroit

Had the Chicken Cobb Salad. Chicken was rubber. Bacon rock hard. I'll just remember to go hungry next time.

Oh dear. Look, this place is a TGI Friday's in an airport. I feel like you have to judge it accordingly. I've found the service here to be pretty good. They recognize that you are likely in a rush and don't make you linger unless you want to. I also witnessed an incident here where a bartender was very kind and helpful to an exceedingly drunk and less than savvy traveler who couldn't figure out how to meet up with her friend. He also served her, at her request, Bud Light with olives in it. The food is, well, TGI Friday's food. I recently had the spicy salmon and the fish was cooked within an inch of its former life, but it didn't kill me and it was basically as described on the menu. Would I buy a plane ticket just to have this meal? No, but since I was there it was ok. They also carry at least 1-2 Michigan beers on tap here, which I appreciate. So, TGI Friday's. Hooray.

During my last trip through Detroit airport, J and I had some time to squander, so we grabbed a quick bite at TGI Fridays since it had the Michigan game playing on its televisions. We were seated promptly, but our food took quite a while to come. I ordered a cream of broccoli soup, which I imagine is microwaved in the back kitchen, and J ordered a sandwich, which I imagine is mostly pre-packaged meats + bread being slapped together. Our waitress didn't come around again until we desperately needed to grab the check and pay, or else we would have missed our flight. I understand that it's a restaurant in the middle of an airport, so I'll give this location the benefit of the doubt in terms of its food and service. Two stars, instead of one.

I had the club sandwich with sweet potato fries and a diet coke. Was delicious. Although airport restaurants get a bad rep, this one was friendly and accommodated us.

Don't bother. Slow service. Slow food. Took over 25min to get my salad. Left before it even arrived. Unless you got an hour to spare, skip it.

The fries are mediocre at best. Taste like refried cardboard. The burger was charred beyond belief!! I think you call that BURNT!!! Service was okay. Nothing to write home about. Kitchen floor was gross!!!! How do I know? The swing doors were left open and the sight wasn't loving. I guess this is what you expect in the DIRTY D!!! I'll never return to this TGIF!!! Never.

I guess my experience is best summed up this way... the employees spent their time yelling at each other at the top of their voices. My order was wrong, they put blue cheese on it when I didn't want any. When my new meal came, I'm pretty confident they just picked off the blue cheese because there were plenty of remnants left. The meal wasn't any good, I had a salad but the leaves were wilted and brown. Sigh. I guess I shouldn't even have an expectation of mediocrity from this place.

  • Michele A.

Lets start by saying what do you expect from a TGI Fridays in an airport? We went in for drinks because our flight was delayed not food I am not that stupid to eat and expect a good meal from an airport TGI Fridays. I had a spiked coffee which was good however the coffee had grounds in it. My husband stuck with a basic beer since that what they have. It was semi clean could be cleaner.

Even considering that this is airport food, the food here is BAD. My salad had at least a third of a cup of dressing on it and the chicken on top had a really moist (in a bad way) coating of pecans on it. I picked out as much un-drenched lettuce and as many mandarin oranges I could and ate the chicken, which I though was safe. It's 1.5 hours later now, and I have a terrible stomachache -- and I mean TERRIBLE. And I never get sick from food. Now I get to look forward to a super queasy and uncomfortable 2-hour flight. My husband's pulled pork sandwich was "waaaaay too sweet" but at least he's not nauseated. The place is super cramped -- they don't have any extra room or designated space for bags or strollers (like other airport restaurants I've tried) so the place is a total fire hazard. The restaurant smells like bleach, which I guess is okay because that means they clean? Maybe? It's too bad because our waitress was very nice and our food came out quickly. DON'T DO IT.

This should be a zero star. We waited patiently to be seated and received a table next to the bar. The bartender came over and chastised us for sitting at a handicap accessible table. After we told her the hostess sat us, she ran over to fight with her coworker. By then all other tables were taken and the bartender told us she would have to find someone else to serve us. We were never acknowledged by any server and chose to leave hungry. Unacceptable from a big chain.

Terrible. The table and seat were dirty and the place was super hot. After complaining I was told that they can't control their heat or air conditioning.

We ate here on vacation and we're extremely disappointed. I never complain, but this was so above and beyond aweful, I just have to say something. They don't accept tgi fridays gift cards, the don't do the stripes program, and the food was not even edible. They said they are a franchise, so they do not have to honor tgi fridays cards. We sent food back and ordered a salad which came out with rotten tomatoes on top so couldn't even stomach that. After a 140 dollar bill we ended up at McDonalds.

Oh how I wish I would've look at Yelp before going in here. Only reason I'm giving it two stars is because my server was good, but not the others. Two of the kitchen staff came out onto the dining floor and started arguing, loudly. Place was filthy, they were out of everything the table next to me was trying to order. I took a couple bites of my food, prayed for no food poisoning and got out. Will stay away from all TGIF no matter how hungry I am.

Been through the Detroit airport a few times and have stopped in this Fridays twice with both visits resulting in essentially the same lack of service. The first time I did I made a vow to never come back. I stood at the front waiting, and waiting, and waiting... It was like they had closed and I was completely invisible. Finally I asked to be seated and the hostess acted suprised to see me. After being seated I had to go find a wait person to get my drink order. That took about 10 minutes. During this wait time I actually asked my wife to stay at the tablw while I looked for another place to eat. Unfortunately they were all booked up so we went on and ordered food here. The wait for the food wasn't as long as the wait for the drinks. I wouldn't complain about the food, just had burgers and fries all of which were ok. Had to find the wait person again to pay. My recommendation is to avoid this stop at all costs, there are other places to eat in the airport. Service is non existent.

  • Katie M.

TGIF... Thank God I'm Flying ... out of here soon so I don't have to stay here much longer. Yuck. This place stinks like old buckets of cleaning water. Food quality is poor, service is worse and prices are typical for your run of the mill over priced airport bar. Seat cushions at the table we were at were ripped and dirty.

I ordered a chicken and cheese sizzler from TGI Fridays at Detroit metro airport. When the waitress brought it out, it looked really nice. So, I took a picture and sent it to my girlfriend. I continued to enjoy my sizzler along with the tigers game until she texted me back and asked me to stop eating. The picture I took clearly showed the presence of hair on the chicken. I feel disgusted after this episode. They let me leave without paying for it. But, I still feel disgusted ! Sheer negligence. I wanted to speak to the manager. But, they said I'll have to come back in 30 minutes to talk to her ( btw that would make me miss my flight ! ) I didn't expect this from TGI Fridays. Will avoid this one for sure !!

It's your typical TGI Fridays. I got prompt service and good food and then made my plane. Can't ask for more than that.

  • Keith M.

Horrible. Sat down and had to clean the table. 15 minutes trying to get service with no luck. They would rather talk about who is going to get drunk tonight then handle why they are getting paid for. Need their franchise revoked. By the way, 6 tables were free so it wasn't like they were busy.

  • Kimberly F.

Beer was warm. I ordered a coconut rum with pineapple juice. The drink was watered down & left room for improvement. As soon as we sat at bar we were over come by a strong odor of dirty water. Although this location had a friendly staff I would think twice before stopping here again.

    (1)
  • Shekira W.

The only reason I'm giving 1 star is because I can't give 0...I can't really judge the service because I never received any after sitting at a table for over 20 minutes. Save yourselves the trouble and take the advice of the many other bad reviews on here.

Awesome food and always great service! Staff always willing to go the extra mile. Fresh hand crafted drinks and a great selection of food and drinks. The staff is very friendly in this face paced "turn and burn" environment.

  • Turd F.

The food never arrived, just like the beer I ordered never arrived. I politely asked the waitress for another beer and she gave me a smart ass remark. I would suggest not stepping foot in the restaurant for any reason.
