This place is an awesome spot with a great location close to all the spots. Round bar is a perfect place for a hand crafted cocktail and great eats. The happy hour is from 4-7pm and the Apps range from $5-6 and the staff are so pleasant. Shout out to Kelly and Adam for the great service and friendly smiles. Live music Thursday night is great for an after work getaway. Best blacken salmon in town! The people are great and the patrons are full of life. It's quiet the beginning the night but the fun amps up. Well done Round Bar.

Food isn't better than the service, which is pretty terrible. Flat iron steak needs someone to pre-chew it if you ever expect to be able to swallow it. And really...a steak in a bowl, on top of French fries? WTF?! How the hell do you serve a steak in a giant bowl?! It's not soup, salad or pasta...it don't belong in a bowl! Waitied 5 minutes sitting at the bar that was 1/4th full, at BEST for someone to finally acknowledge that I was there. Sad.... Wine selection is pretty abysmal and way overpriced, like everything else here.

I would say overall, eh, it's a hotel restaurant bar... Some shining points are: Great draft beer selection tons of local craft options Good happy hour - 4-7 (I believe...) $4 Drafts, and $5 apps Really friendly staff - good for conversation or a laugh, genuinely all seemed like really good people Duller points: Not very good service. By this I only mean promptness. I sat down at the bar even, and it was too long before anyone talked to me. And by beer glass was empty for too long before I was asked for another. This was after a hockey game, so they were clearly understaffed. It seems like something that should be pretty easy to predict though since they deal with hockey games all the time, and I think they publish the game schedule fairly far in advance. Had a cobb salad... have had much better, very eh... no egg, small, but not overly dressing-ed, which is good. I'm sure I'll continue to go there for a beer... I'm going to have to be pretty tired though to eat there again during this trip.

Formerly Finn & Porter, this restaurant is located inside DoubleTree in downtown Detroit. There's a restaurant dining side and the Round Bar side that shares the same menu. Most things still look the same as they haven't gotten new signs yet. They did get a new menu, which is how I found out about the new name. They should give their menu a makeover because the font they picked for the menu makes it difficult to read. Round Bar still has happy hour, but raise the happy hour (5p-7p) beer price to $4, which is still a great bargain. They have 10 new craft beers on tap, including local and non-local, like Bell's Oberon. They also have $5 appetizers like meat balls, stuffed jalapeño, and pot stickers. Happy hour isn't listed on the menu, but you can ask the bartender about it. The portion of all the main dishes is small, but perfect for me since it means I have room for dessert. They also have 10" pizza starting at $8 on the menu. POT STICKERS - $5 during happy hour - Pan fried and slightly crispy on the outside. Served with a side of sweet and sour sauce. Good meaty filling, I approve. SHRIMP SCAMPI PAPPARDELLEL - $22 - 4 giant meaty shrimps, tomatoes and nicely cooked wide flat pasta noodles. There is no sauce, but I like my pasta that way. Expensive, but good. LOBSTER BISQUE and SCALLOP - $19 -I enjoyed this dish as it has a few things going on. The pastry in the middle, huge deliciously cooked scallops, and a medley of vegetables.

On Sunday's is the Brunch Buffett. And the best I ever been too! The food is tasty and have so much soul (flavor) ;-)

The breakfast buffet is the quick, casual selections just like an American Breakfast in a European hotel! Cereal bar, juice bar, fresh fruit selections, French paStry, scrabbled eggs, bacon, sausage, homemade potatoes, French toast, yogurt, toast selections, and an assortment of daily goodies! Top that with an excellent pot of coffee at your table! Service is outstanding!

I had a great time on a recent visit to the Round Bar. Dave made me a delicious refreshing cocktail with basil, grapefruit and vodka. It was so refreshing and tasty and reminded me of a cocktail I had at home in New York. Everyone at the Round Bar was so friendly and it was a fun atmosphere. I will definitely return on my next visit to Detroit.

The service I have ever had at a restaurant. We were waiting for over an hour only had two drinks they didn't bus the tables around us. We had to complain to management of the hotel to get attention. Then they brought our cobb salad without the chicken. Embarrassed that they are a Hilton company property.

It's all about Dave and his tap selection. Best list of local brews in town with an approachable, gregarious waitstaff to boot. Can't go wrong in this part of the city.

Awesome place and nice pre-game hangout. Get down here and check it out! Service is excellent and they make great Mojito's.

We were thrilled that we stumbled upon this place. The drinks here are awesome sauce. The bartender knew what he was doing and everyone was so friendly. These folks love the city and it showed. We got great recommendations on our weekend in the city.

Motor city kitchen has amazing food and some of the most personable staff in Detroit. I live in the apartments, on top of the hotel, and eat here 4 times or more per week because the food is superb. Last time I asked if they could make something off the menu and they brought out a gyro dish with rice and broccoli that was to die for. David from management and the service team go out of their way to make the customer feel special, which keeps me coming back. Due to my experiences over the last 3 months i always recommend the restaurant/bar to friends that visit the city. Guests of the hotel, red wings fans, or anyone visiting the business district should come down for the amazing food and drinks.

Located in the Fort Shelby building, the Round Bar and Motor City Kitchen have a great vibe. You'll always find a great mix of out-of-town travelers, residents of the building, and locals sitting at the bar talking about the next great thing happening in Detroit. It's really a great place to learn what's going on around town, make new friends, have great drinks, and eat from a wide variety of menu choices. I recommend making this a regular stop when you're going out downtown. We tend to stop in before going out for a drink and dinner, then again afterwards for a nightcap. Take the time to talk with the staff and the people around you. I think you'll be surprised how much of a "Cheers" atmosphere this place has. If you're into cocktails, try one of the special concoctions. if you're into beer, they have a great beer list that changes often. Also solid wine selection, including some gems that are off the beaten path. Food... I'm hooked on the cobb salad, lobster penne, and fish and chips, depending on my mood. Don't hesitate to ask the staff for recommendations... they're super helpful. See you at the Round Bar!

Never again; bad service, horrible pizza! I was brought here by a friend who had flown into the city and specifically wanted to treat me to pizza at a place she previously visited and enjoyed, was actually raving about. So... Here's my not so rave review. The "award winning mixologist" Matthew who was introduced to us that way by (apparently the manager on duty) David, did not know his menu too well as we asked for his affirmation of ingredients on a specific pizza, and when pizza came out it was without Mozzerella cheese, which we specifically asked for. So Matthew took it back saying kitchen would make a new one. Nope! Kitchen added cheese atop original and rebaked the pie, which meant we were served and ate a dry cardboard pizza. The manager, David, did not seem to care, as we asked for a moment of his time to explain our displeasure, he brushed us off with his BS fake personality walked away and ignored us. Oh and the "award winning mixologist" Matthew, handles his bar glasses by the rims with his hands!

Dave, the manager, is the most gracious host! He directed me to the brussel sprouts which are OUT OF THIS WORLD--the best I've ever had--I don't know what they put on there to make a vegetable so delicious--and I'm a Chicago girl, so I know food. I can't describe them. You just need to try it. The blakened salmon was also delicious--very moist and flavorful. And they have an excellent wine and beer selection. The atmosphere is great, too! All around an awesome bar/restaurant. A real gem in downtown Detroit. You need to check it out.

I have eaten several times at the Motor City Kitchen in the Doubletree. First, the beer selection is great. They have approximately craft 20 beers on tap, mostly domestic. Very good. The staff is very helpful and friendly regardless if its lunch or dinner. The food is good for both variety and flavor. I have had a Cobb salad, gumbo, chicken cavatopi, roasted Brussel sprouts, hamburger and fries. All of it was very good with quick service. This is a great restaurant for lunch or dinner and from what I hear, the breakfast is good too. Prices are reasonable for a hotel.

If you are ever in downtown Detroit I would suggest you give Motor City Kitchen a try. It has the charm of the Midwest with wonderful serving staff (David the F&B Manager is great) and cuisine that you would expect from LA or NY. If you love seafood like I do, but find it hard to get great flavor and/or portions in Michigan, you have to try the scallops! I was thrilled by how much flavor was in every bite and they were huge! They also have craft cocktails that are delight and surprise. I will definitely come back and try their brunch!

Their pizza and gelato are incredible...level of service was great, and the prices were within a reasonable price range. Service was great- our server gave us our complicated order exactly as we asked- he didn't even have to write it down! Breakfast buffet is good, and it is conveniently located in the Hilton Doubletree hotel on Lafayette Street.

My service was soooo much better than when they were Finn & Porter. I went for the brunch buffet both times. Food was delicious, mimosas was awesome and unlimited. I think my highlight was the music playlist by the DJ though. I knocked off 2 stars for price for the selection. It was a $50 for brunch, unlimited mimosas, tip.

Always a great time !!!! Bar tender Chris is nothing short of amazing ! Always makes me feel welcomed. They will fulfill any appetite craving and with a smile. The fruit is always fresh and the drinks are made to perfection. Manager Dave never fails to make sure everyone is satisfied and having a great time. Every visit he proves excellent customer service by going above and beyond for everyone in the room. I would recommend the Double Tree Bar to any an all ages but do not forget to grab a cookie they are addicting ! Thanks again to the DBT staff awesome experience. I will be back !!

Bad, bad, bad service. Too bad, because it's a nice location and nice hotel. But this place has a chronic problem with bad service. Went in after a long hiatus, hoping things had improved. But, nope.

Very hip, awesome beer selection and the craft cocktails they offer are outstanding. If you haven't ventured over you won't be disappointed. Super clean place and very friendly & accommodating staff. We'll be back often!

Food was GREAT! The presentation and the taste were top notch. I had the pork tenderloin with grilled peaches and coconut rice. It was off the hook. The pork was tender and not over cooked. It's on the high side for price but you will not be disappointed.

This is a delightful place. New to Detroit and just visiting, I was invited in by David, one of the managers here. Came in for drinks and met a bunch of excellent, friendly people. The drinks were well made, the beer selection was plentiful, and the people were the best part. Highly recommended.
