Clearly this is the best Chinese food you can get in the usa . The fried rice is the best I ever had. My girlfriend had the chicken and broccoli and stated this was the best chinese food she had. I order a order of spare ribs , fried rice extra fried rice and egg drop soup + my girlfriend meal was chicken and broccoli , wong tong soup, fried rice and egg roll with hot tea and our bill came to 13 bucks . This is the best meal for the cheapest price I ever had. I felt like I owed this place atleast 20 more bucks ........

Meh! I've had better & worse. I got the ABC combo, asked if they had shrimpless egg rolls; they don't. I was offered extra chicken fried rice instead (I substituted chicken fried rice instead of shrimp fried rice) so I said sure. He charged me extra for this! The gravy was brown & way salty & dumped on the chicken so it was soggy. The chicken in the fried rice was a weird texture... Softish, not chickeny. My guy liked his dish though - shrimp chow mein. He got A LOT of food for the regular price. My price was average when they charged me extra. Not worth driving out of the way for...

Best Chinese food around! My family has been going here for about 20 years and the quality has never changed. My favorite is the almond boneless chicken.

Kwong Tung Inn was really, really good! I got the Pepper Chicken with regular fried rice lunch special and it was awesome! I loved that they gave a chicken option, since most places only offer Pepper Steak, and that they included a bunch of it! Most chinese places I've ordered Pepper Steak from have only a few pieces of steak and a ton of onions and green peppers, but this one was well balanced! My boyfriend got the Almond Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice and says it was, "Pretty good!" The only thing I didn't like and was a turn off for me, granting them 4 stars instead of 5, is the fact that the eggroll that came with it had shrimp in it. I hate seafood(A LOT!!!) and was excited when I had tried their sauce that came with it. Some kind of sweet and sour orange type sauce, it was really tasy! But when I bit into it and noticed shrimp, I instantly put it down. I don't recall them listing it as a shrimp eggroll like they had the Shrimp Fried Rice listed, but in any case I won't be getting the eggrolls anymore! Besides that, the place was really great! And pretty inexpensive as well! Am really happy with what I got and still have plenty to eat later! Definietly really big portions! Will have to try the Sweet and Sour Chicken or Seaseme Chicken based off the reviews! Definietly worth a try!

I just joined yelp for TWO reasons: (1) is because it seems so much fun from what I heard from a good friend who is also an elite member and (2) KWONG TUNG INN! I can't honestly believe that no one here on Yelp! has discovered this diamond in the rough. I moved here in Michigan 1998 and a friend recommended this. I have been HOOKED ever since! That is TWELVE years peeps! I love their #38 combo -- normally Sesame Chicken but they make it a little more spicy to be General Tso's with white rice (personal preference though their fried rice, which comes with the combo with NO EXTRA FEE, is delicious as well). I do recommend to skip the egg roll though -- too much bean sprout for my taste. The location is just on the Warren-Detroit border of 8 Mile (on the south side of the road naturally) between Ryan and Dequindre roads. Though I have eaten inside the restaurant, it is rather small and can only accomodate a few customers -- a drawback for some people. I would recommend take out especially at night (read: Friday nights) when the parking lot AND the inside of the restaurant gets crowded. I rather have Chinese and movie at home on any given evening anyway.

I love this place!! It's hard to find a consistently delicious Chinese food restaurant and this one is it!! I get the sesame chicken combo which comes with shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. All of it is delicious, the egg roll is a bit bland but otherwise no complaints! Friendly and quick service. Small location and the parking lot fills up! There's a dine in area but Iv only had carry out. I defiantly eat here once or twice a week and am about to order some right now :)

Great place for good American Style Chinese food. Everything is cheap, the portions are huge, and the food is done right. Saw this place on the local news with high regards about their Sesame Chicken, and it really was amazing!

The food is just ok. But that conclusion could be influenced by the fact that they got our order wrong. We ordered the sesame chicken and asked for it to be spicy. It wasn't even remotely near mild. Then they got my part of the order wrong and gave me white rice instead of chicken fried rice and I didn't even get an egg roll with my lunch special. Didn't like it. Probably won't go back. The place isn't so bad inside. Has a sit down area.

Best Chinese food I have had in a while. Fast, efficient, and cheap too! Chicken and broccoli was so yummy. Broccoli was very fresh! Large portions too... Took about half of it for later. Area is dicey but everyone was very nice. Bathroom was pretty clean too!

OH. MY. GOD... Prepare to be amazed... I got takeout at 9-ish on a friday and I had no expectations. Literally the best Chinese I've ever had. General Tso's chicken was amazing, I immediately regretted ordering the pint sized portion. I literally licked the inside if the container and ate the broccoli stems (I usually just eat the florets!)... The crab rangoon were also best I have ever had. This is literally my new favorite Chinese place.

This restaurant deserves no stars! There was a huge black roach found in the chicken, disgusted and will never return here. So upset I even have them a good review at first.

I almost don't want to write this review because I want to keep Kwong Tung my little secret -- however, judging from the line-up last Friday, there's no danger of that. This place has the best Chinese food in the area, and it's incredibly cheap for a combo dinner with shrimp fried rice! Tasty food and always consistent, even my wife likes it and she's picky. Of course, who am I to talk since I usually only get General Tao's chicken? Soup was good, everything is amazingly tasty. Would I eat in? Probably not -- it's very small and cramped, plus I'm close enough for take-out and apparently so is a large segment of the neighborhood. Would I come here alone after dark? Not unless I was packing, since the area is pretty sketchy. But after trying many local Chinese restaurants, I pledge my allegiance to Kwong Tung.

I was fiending for shrimp fried rice on New Years' Day, and Stanley's Other Place was closed. I found KTI had 4 stars on Yelp, so, I gave it a try. YUUUUUCCCCK! This was, without a doubt, the worst "Chinese" food that I have ever had. The sweet/sour chicken had a horrible taste, like it was cooked a couple of days before, then battered and fried, the steak ala steak was rubbery in a thick brown gravy, the garlic ribs had an old grease flavor, and the fried rice was awful. My family would not eat much of it. We thought, "OK well we can always feed the chicken to the cats"... but they also refused to eat it, and my cats will eat just about anything. And this place was full of Detroiters, dining in and carrying out. Go figure. I would not eat it again if I was paid to eat it

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
