So, SW Detroit doesn't have a lot of options for Chinese food. This place is close, it's decent, it's moderately clean, the windows you can actually see through, and the buildings is the most recently built if that saying anything. I have never gotten sick which is a good thing, and never really been disappointing. although ive seen the prices go up through out the years, what else can you say about a place where the Chinese help has adapted to playing Mexican Music and they speak Spanish better than they speak English? Plus they have Twin dinners where if you cant make up your mind instead of paying 7.50, pay 8.00 and get two different entrees in the same meal. Sweet and Sour chicken AND Rib Tips with Fried Rice and Egg roll. Dinner today and luch Tommorow.

It's good and the prices are reasonable. I wouldn't drive out of my way to go here, but when I'm in the area and it's close I pick this place. It is what it is; It's simple and no frills.

It is clean. They are friendly. The food is your run-of-the-mill, little Chinese joint food, and is tasty in that "immediately gratifying but regret will set in when you spend the next day with grease stomach and MSG bloat" way. Even when I call my order in ahead of time, I STILL always have a 10 min or so wait when I come to pick it up. In fact, I am suspicious that (perhaps due to people calling in orders and not showing up to get the food?) they take your order over the phone but do not actually start making it until you get there. Just my own conspiracy theory.... Also, cash-only, which can be a mild inconvienence at times.

Oh, China House, how I wanted you to be so tasty. Located only two blocks or so from my house, this place would have been ideal for those late night Chinese food cravings. It's open late (till 11 or midnight) most of the week, and it is CHEAP. But it is also bland. It doesn't taste bad so much as it doesn't really taste - period. This is mall-Chinese-food-quality stuff. Sure, you can walk out with two meals for around $10, but is that reason in itself to go? Only you and your pocketbook can decide. Also, so you know before you go, it's cash-only.

Nice little Chinese joint that is within walking distance from my home in the lovely Southwest Detroit neighborhood. I must agree with a previous reviewer that even if you call in an order, you still end up waiting 10 min or so after you arrive. For me this isn't huge problem, since it is so close I don't even bother phoning ahead and just walk in and place my order. But I can see how this night be irritating, especially if you've phoned in a large order. However, the staff is extremely friendly, so waiting the extra few minutes isn't a big deal for me at all. They even have a TV so you can catch up on your Chinese news as you wait. The food is consistently tasty and inexpensive. I just wish they offered kung pao chicken on their menu, which is astonishingly absent. Otherwise, I highly recommend China House if you're in the SW Detroit neighborhood and have a hankering for greasy Chinese yumminess.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
