Awesome sandwiches, quick and tasty. Must try quick stop for lunch downtown.

I had a day off for lunch and was in the city and decided to give this place a try while strolling downtown. I was happy I did. They have a pretty small menu of options which is good for the indecisive like me. There is no inside seating or parking, just a few tables outside. It's made mostly for carry out. I got the Sicilian and the Cuban along with the special hummus of the day which had garlic and onions in it. The whole bill was under $20 which is very reasonable. They give you a hearty portion of hummus and bread for $5. The hummus was fresh and tasted great on pita. The sandwiches themselves were grilled and hot. The Cuban was fantastic, better than the Sicilian, which had some less ripe tomatoes on it. Both were still worth getting again. Next time I will be getting the Mediterranean Nachos because they look fantastic on yelp. Overall: reasonably priced and quick sandwich shop to hit on your lunch break.

No idea they even had food.... I have to check that out. Only ever had their smoothies and they are delicious. The staff is great too.

I have been there once as my wife is a vegetarian and she really wanted to try it out. She found the wraps decent. For me they were above average. The service though was friendly. Might try this place again

grabbed two wraps for lunch + a veggie smoothie for so cheap. The wrap + juice were at $9, the wrap only was cheap as well but don t recall the price. Service was fast, out of a small window in the wall on a quiet street in Detroit. The wrap was filling, tasty, with plenty of stuffs inside. I enjoyed it really much and it is clearly a spot where I can see myself go more often next time I am there. The smoothie was nice though the straw was a little too narrow to get content through the tube.

Great spot, I pass it a lot walking my dog. I was hungry and had my dog with me so I stopped here. Super friendly, quick and my Sicilian wrap was delicious. Pretty good for $6. Definitely will be back!!!

All I can say is YUCK! Long wait: My friend and I were the only customers they had, it took over 30 minutes to put together a caprese wrap. Mozzarella cheese with mushy tomatoes wrapped in a soggy/wet pita bread! Their "hummus of the day" was ginger basil something, the worst tasting hummus I've ever had! I did get one acceptable item in my lunch bag, the bottled water! Waste of $8 ... never again!

Love the Turkey Wrap with a side of soup. Hummus is good too! They are walking distance from my office and a great little place to grab carryout and go sit and eat in a park (weather permitting) They are in a little tiny side of a building on John R just east of Woodward. You can't miss the lime green paint. Try them! Support local.

Great little hole-in-the-wall hummus and wrap shop near the Madison Block. Most of the ingredients are sourced from Eastern Market and everything is made fresh daily. It's nice having a place near work with cheap, healthy food. I just wish I didn't have to wait in the cold while the food is being made. Hummus is good and not overly smooth from adding extra oil, which restaurants tend to do. It comes in a fairly large soup-size cup so I'd recommend getting a small if you don't want leftovers. I love the Italian Caprese Wrap although you have to eat it really quickly, otherwise the water from the mozzarella and tomatoes makes the pita soggy. The Turkey Wrap is also good and does not have this problem. The Mediterranean Nachos are a nice twist, with feta, cucumber, tomato, and hummus, for toppings. The chips can get a little salty if you eat the whole thing in one sitting. Daily specials include soups in winter and daily hummus flavors. They also have smoothies.

Prefect lunch spot! I've tried all the wraps and love them all! My only complaint is that they are not open weekends. I use to stop regularly when I worked downtown. I still live Downtown, but I commute out of the city... Sigh.

This place is solid. If you aren't a hummus fan, this place will change you. It changed me. I've been here about a dozen times, eating a veggie delight pita right now and I feel compelled to write this review. If you are looking for a quick, tasty, healthy place to grab lunch while in the city, add this to the growing list of great options. There are a few tables out side, but it's more of a grab 'n go spot then a place to sit and eat lunch.

I obviously always order Chickpea in the D ahead of time, using foodjunky.com . But, you cannot beat the quickness and convenience of Chickpea. I would probably prefer to give 3.5 stars instead of 4, rounded up for over-the-top service. With that being said, I do typically only order from here when I am limited on time. The wraps are good, but can be a bit bland. Really like the smoothies - but do wish they were a bit thicker. Overall, I think Chickpea does well with what they offer, especially for a "hole-in-the-wall" joint.

When my work caters lunches; this is always the top of my list. The hummus is fantastic and there's always a variety of different flavors; I'm personally a big fan of the olive hummus. By far, the chickpea salad is the big winner. It always tastes fresh and I end up eating bowls and bowls of it. I haven't tried a bunch of the wraps, but I've always enjoyed what I had, though. Most of all, it's a meal that actually leaves you feeling good after you've eaten it, whereas other carryout around downtown is heavy and greasy. The other big reason to go is the smoothies, and at $4, they're quite a deal for what you get. I'm a big fan of the "Go Green!" which is great to get late in the afternoon when you're looking for a refreshing snack. It might literally be a hole-in-the-wall, but it never fails to impress.

Luv this place! Great hummus, roasted garlic my personal favorite, and the lentil soup is amazing!

Super unsanitary they don't use gloves, long waits for a simple sandwich and often gets orders wrong!

The turkey with hummus instead of mayo is a great option on a warm summer day. I also like the Italian. Staff is friendly also.

Great little window service only hummus and wrap place I just found by my downtown office. Great wraps. Next time going to try one of their smoothies

I'd heard good things about this place, and it's less than a block from my new office, so I gave it a try for lunch today. I was quite disappointed, and that rarely happens. Second things first: why on EARTH did I have to wait 43 minutes for my food? There were four people ahead of me (and at least one phone order), but I had to stand on the sidewalk for 43 minutes. When I first ordered, the girl told me that it would be about 15 minutes. She was apologetic, and it was a beautiful day, so I had no problem waiting for 15 minutes. (They have no indoor area, so you stand on the sidewalk while waiting.) 15 turned into 43. I missed my entire lunch break and had to cram the food down while power-walking back to work. I watched her and the one other employee, and while I understand that they had a lot of orders, they spent so much time taking MORE orders that they didn't prepare the ones they already HAD! When they did work on food prep, it was the slowest thing I've seen in quite some time, which is probably why everyone had to wait so long. It's all mostly-raw food, too, so it's not like they had any cooking to do. I got an Italian caprese wrap and a parsley-apple-ginger-lemon smoothie for $8, which was a little pricey for the small serving size of both items. I'm a healthy man with a healthy appetite, and after eating this for lunch, I was hungry again in less than 90 minutes. The wrap was decent (but needed way more balsamic glaze) and the smoothie was drinkable (despite the chunks of un-blended parsley stem) but I wouldn't get either again. The price wasn't worth it. This could have been a great place- healthy food! hummus!- but I will never go there during meal time again. Instead, I'll walk straight past them every single day, on my way to a place that can actually serve food to their customers.
