Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Awful Food and Service. Do not get the flautas. They were so hard I had to break them in half using my hands because the knife wasn't doing anything. I have eaten her once before and enjoyed my meal, however probably won't go back due to my most recent visit.

I was told I had to check this place out by family of the owner. I didn't have high hopes for the joint, an authentic Mexican place in Dearborn? But man I was wrong. Everything here was incredible. First off, you gotta love any place with Modelo Especial on tap. Nachos and salsa were awesome, the hotter stuff was better than the mild. I had a combo plate which consisted of an enchilada, beef taco and chicken quesadilla with some rice and beans. Everything was off the hook good. I even ordered another enchilada after putting away every last morsel of food on my plates. The server was really friendly and the owner, Mariza, was nice enough to knock off half my bill because of the family recommendation. I will definitely be back!

Tijuana's left a whole in my heart when it moved locations years ago. Thrilled it is back. Despite what we are used to as authentic Mexican, these recipes really are from generations of a family from Mexico. Their rice is the best rice I have eaten in my life. It may be my favorite restaurant item of all time. HOWEVER, if you do not like cilantro, you won't love Tijuana's as much as I do. I rarely order ground beef from mexican restaurants but I get it every time here because of the flavor. Fresh salsa is delicious. Must try this place out.

It is great to see a Mexican place in Warrendale. We come here twice per month. The hot salsa was great. I love the Chile's Rellano.

I had the Fajita's and it was way too much food. We also had an order of the guacamole which was nice and fresh. We go here a lot for work / meeting lunches and service and food has always been very good. Good prices, and quick service great for working lunches.

More like a 2.5 than a 2, but mostly because I'm on the fence here. The staff isn't exactly what you would call organized. I had three different people ask me where I wanted to sit. The waitress/bartender was sweeping the floor around me and kept bumping into my chair. I actually asked her if she wanted me to get up and move. With that being said, the staff was friendly, just not exactly professional. The food wasn't bad. I was served warm tortilla chips with two types of salsa, hot and mild. But I didn't taste a difference between the two. My entree was the shrimp pizza and it was prepared on a fried tortilla. It was more like nachos than pizza. But I liked it well enough. For my entree and a beer it came to only $13. So not pricey, but not exciting either.

Just moved nearby and was craving tacos, so I decided to check this place out. Needless to say I've been back twice in under a week. So far I've tried the plain hard tacos, deep fried taco, chicken enchiladas and nachos as well as the sopapilla sundae. I have nothing bad to say it was delicious in fact I'm debating right now if I'm ordering some tacos tonight. The prices are great, I can't comment on the service since I've ordered take out each time (I like vegging out on tacos while watching wrestling) but the employees I've come in contact with while getting my takeout have all been very pleasant and friendly so I can imagine it is the same dining in.

The only reason this is not 5 star is that they close at 9 and which is the time I get off work which means I am very limited on the times I can get them

Very surprised by there Enchiladas Swizza (yes they spell it different). They were great! Could be the best Swizza sauce I've ever had. Full bar, TV's and close to the office. Everything I require for a regular lunch spot.

This is a popular lunch spot for Ford employees and others who work in the area. Why? I will never understand. I visited twice. First time I was underwhelmed by slow and inattentive service. I was dragged there a second time for a family dinner and found a fingernail clipping in the salsa. NEVER AGAIN.

Terrible service. The food is okay, but I won't be returning just for the simple fact that the waitstaff is incredibly unorganized and it's obvious that this location is poorly managed. The two waitresses were running around, busting their butts, and the place wasn't even half full. Obviously they were stressed out, and I felt bad for them. Still, when I eat out, I expect there to be a balance of good service and good food. Oh well. I hope they can get their act together. I wouldn't recommend Tijuana's; eating there really stressed me out and wasn't worth it.

My go to location for good/cheap Mexican in Dearborn area. Not the best location, but still worth it. Missed this place while it was closed, just glad to have it back.

So, I saw pictures of this place on Instagram and heard a lot about it. So I decided to try it with a friend. We went on taco Tuesday thinking all that hype they must be good right? Wrong. Tacos were horrible and you can only take them carry out. The meat was not seasoned one bit, they slapped on tomatoes and lettuce with nothing else on there. We got chicken tacos and they put huge chunks of chicken and same thing just lettuce and tomato. We got the nachos, decent but not worth it. We were extremely disappointed and will probably never go back.

Fabulous Mexican food! I would love to go back and dine in. Everything was delicious! The only reason they got four stars instead of five is that they don't give free chips and salsa with carry-out orders.

This place is mis-named. It should be called 'Asterisks'. We went there because of the sign out front that said "Taco Tuesday 99¢...". Went we went in, it was *carry out only. Then we noticed a sign that says 20% off for Ford Employees... We ordered off the lunch menu and when we went to pay... No discount: *doesn't apply to lunch menu. So, borderline false advertising aside, the food wasn't bad. Nothing special, but decent. Bottom line, the asterisks left a bad taste in my mouth, so I probably won't be in any hurry to go back... I've had worse, but there are better options in the area..

Nice place to eat they have the best super nachos come with beef or chicken and their sauce hot or mile is the best sauce I ever had at a mexican restaurant

Tijuana's has changed names several times since I started working in the area ~10 years ago. Many of the iterations offered similar menus, but I think the current iteration has the best food. There is ample parking unless the restaurant is absolutely packed. The staff is prompt and unlike many other Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants in the area, I always feel like drinks, chips, and salsa are flowing freely for those who order an entree. The lunch specials are extremely impressive - I particularly love the chicken tacos and/or ground beef burritos. The salsas come in two flavors, both chunky with onions and herbs in addition to just the sauce. The rice is good, but I always put a bit of the spicy salsa in it for some added flavor. A friend of mine swears by their huevos con chorizo lunches and I admit that I'm always tempted to try them because they look delicious, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. The food doesn't taste super authentic like some of the places in Detroit, but it is quality and has good flavor and it also isn't sodium-filled cheese-covered miscellaneous piles of goop like another of their competitors not too far Westward. I haven't been there for dinner lately, but their drink specials are impressive and I've heard tales that this is quite the spot for an after-work margarita. :) Definitely stop by and check out Tijuana's!

Love this place. My favorite Mexican restaurant! The traditional dishes are good, but the unique items really stand out. Try the chicken fingers quesadilla for an appetizer. The mexican pizza, mexican sandwich and cantina burger are all outstanding.

Just ok. The food comes out fast and for the area it is not bad. I mean for an area not know for good mexican food. Table side salsa is popular and the lunch specials come out fast. They do a decent lunch. The service is hit or miss.

Food had no taste service sucked didnt even give me plates charged me extra for I didnt ask for overall I don't recommend this place. Wont be back
(2)Marsha W.
Great food, but check your order before you leave, if you're doing carry out. My last order missed my side dishes and I didn't discover until I made it home. A great disappointment.
(3)Jasmine G.
Very good food. I had a Mexican Pizza and my husband had the Gordita tacos. I would have liked to tried the rice but it did not come with my meal. Overall, I will eat here again.

3.5 stars The food is tasty, not totally street-style authentic but nicely flavoured. Freshly made Salsa, Enchilada Suiza blends together beautifully the variety of flavours (tangy green tomatillo salsa, creamy cheesy sauce) and texture (chunk beef that melts easily, corn tortilla lightly fried and chewy), nice fresh Gordita shells I only wish they offered more authentic fillings than chicken or beef. Friendly and attentive services. Very accommodating if you want to substitute or make up your own combo. Dull looking building from outside, but don't worry as the interior is sunny and bright with a festival decor, shades of orange on the wall, coordinated Tiffany-style lamps, and lots of piñata to cheer up children or young at heart. If you are looking for street tacos with carnitas or cabeza or lengua, don't go to this place. If you like the other Mexican restaurant on Ford Road near Telegraph, you will really enjoy this place. Go eat!

Came here about a couple weeks ago. Had the Cuevos con Papas (for dinner), which is scrambled eggs with tomatoes, onions and diced potatoes. It tasted bland and unseasoned. No tomatoes or onions could be found. They served the entree with beans and rice, which I found strange. I was too hungry to send it back even though I had every right to. Someone else in my group said her meal was not that good either and that she had had better at a different Tijuana's. The chips were bland, unsalted and cold. The best thing was the hot salsa (in the red dish), hardly enough to merit a return trip, though. Sorry, but I do not recommend this particular restaurant.

This is the best Mexican in the greater Detroit area. I highly recommend the quesadillas with chunky beef or the fajitas. Delicious.
(5)Katherine G.
Tried to call in a carry out for lunch today, waited over 10 minutes on hold. You mean to tell me for someone wanting to patronize your business you cannot pick up the phone for over 10 minutes? No one ever came back I hung up. I would have spent less time ordering in person.
(1)Chris S.
Whether you dine in or carry out you won't be disappointed! Friendly service! Fast service! Great value! Excellent salsa and chips!I I order chicken burritos they are always fresh and hot. Have also enjoyed the fajitas. Flavorful food! The restaurant is clean and tidy as well.
