I love PF Changs! Everything I've had here is delicious. Happy hour drinks are sooo good. My favorite dishes are kung pao scallops and chicken lettuce wraps. Service is always great. I don't like how I have to come to Fairlane Mall to come here, but whatever!

I have been going to P.F. Chang's for years. I like this location compared to the Livonia one because it's usually quieter than the other location. But, if you're looking for some authentic Chinese food. This is not the place for you! Hence why this place is called P.F. Chang's China BISTRO. Bistro is usually interpreted as a knock-off of the original. My faves for PF Chang's are: pork dumplings (steamed), chicken lettuce wraps (a given for this place), Chang's Spicy Chicken, Mongolian Beef (my absolute favorite entree!) ask the chef to add a little extra sugar to your dish to have them caramelize the beef a bit more (just a tip), Pepper Steak, and other numerous entrees and appetizers that are a treat to my palate. Yes, PF Chang's is a bit on the pricey side, but here is a little tip, come during lunch time! They have over 20 dishes that they offer during dinner hour for more than half price! And it comes with soup or salad, and your choice of rice!! For dessert there are many options and my mom and I love chocolate so we always get the Great Wall of Chocolate! Delicious! It's a giant slab of chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and fresh berries to add to it's decadent taste. Others like the Banana Spring Rolls, which many find appealing (tehe). They also have many like 'dessert shooters' type things. Which are perfectly fine if you're looking for a small treat to satisfy your sweet tooth. As a last note, I should mention that my only problem when I last visited was that the tea cups for hot tea seem to continually keep getting smaller. What's up with that?? It's literally smaller than a shot glass, I kid you not. I love me some hot tea, but I think I might have to ask for a larger glass next time... Anyway, try it sometime!! But if you want 'decent' prices, go for lunch!!!

Came here with my husband and 4 children and it was amazing! The food was delicious and served piping hot, and our server was phenomenal! We told her we were in a hurry and she made sure to bring our food out in a timely manner without making us feel rushed. My steak and peppers was the best I've ever had, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed their sweet and sour, and honey chicken, and chicken fried rice. My daughter even asked for more egg rolls to go! We will DEFINITELY be back!

I love coming here! I usually get the Sweet 'n Sour Chicken with white rice, but tonight I decided to try the Double Pan Fried Noodles. It was different, not a bad dish, but because it's pan fried twice, you get some crunchy pieces in there. I thought it was overcooked so I sent it back and it was remade, but the crunchiness is consistent with that dish. They changed the salad dressing as well, not a big fan of the new, will stick with the ginger and sesame dressing. My friend ordered the lemon scented brussels sprouts (thinly shaved wok-charred with ginger, garlic, Thai Basil and fresh lemon zest) it looked declicious but didn't taste as good as it sounds. They also have "upgraded" to mini desserts, they have Red Velvet, Chocolate Torte, Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch, Tiramisu, Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake and Blueberry Cheesecake. They are so delicious, but for $2.95 I will go for the Banana Spring Rolls or the New York Cheesecake for $5.95, you get more for your buck! Service was outstanding as usual and the online reservation was offline when I tried to make a reservation, but the hostess did seat us within 10 minutes.

ROACH IN MY FOOD.......I WILL NEVER go to P.F. Chang's again after what I experienced! Me and my boyfriend went this past Saturday on 4/18/2015. We both ordered Pan Fried Shrimp Dumplings and for our Entrée we ordered Mongolian Beef and Shrimp mixed. Our Mongolian Beef and Shrimp came out first before our appetizer's. I asked the Bartender where is our Shrimp Dumplings and she stated that the manager will take it off and sorry for our inconvenience. So the Shrimp Dumplings finally came out and before I could take my fork to cut and start eating I noticed a roach was on my plate in the sauce that they pour over the shrimp dumplings. I am so disgusted and is looking into a lawyer and will let all my FB and Twitter friends know to not eat at this restaurant. I also contacted the Health Department. BEWARE!

PF Changs has always been on my favorite restaurant lists. 1. It is Chinese-American cuisine. Don't go expecting large portions, cheap prices, and unique authentic Chinese food. 2. PF Changs cuisine is salty, a tad expensive, come in small portions, and centered around ambiance. Although they have all these things going against them, it is a fantastic place to choose from some relatively delicious, salty Chinese-American food and have drinks with friends. I have eaten at PF Changs as an employee and customer in my past. I have broken down the GREAT ITEMS TO EAT. 1. Mongolian Scallops (Off Menu) 2. Dan Dan Noodles (This is a large bowl) 3. Oolong Sea Bass 4. Eggplant w/ Chicken in Black Bean Sauce (Super Delicious over Brown Rice) 5. Crispy Green Beans 6. Orange Beef

A chain restaurant that's a little different. A little. It's American Chinese food gone upscale. The four course dinner for two is a good value. It's kind of dark, romantic. It has a destination feel. That said, the mongolian beef is way too salty. The honey chicken is soggy. The Ahi tuna is over drenched in sauce. The coconut drink could stand to be bigger.

A few friends and I dropped by PF Chang's for lunch and more importantly, to catch up with each other. I've been to this restaurant (Somerset, Dearborn, and Northville locations) countless times, including one day when I went for both lunch and dinner. Hey, it happens if friends pick the place. So, I can confidently say that I've tried the majority of appetizers, entrees, and desserts on the menu. On this cold day, I started with the Hot and Sour Soup; it was part of the lunch special and a perfect way to warm up. I especially enjoyed the tender tofu that floated in the broth, along with the shredded chicken, egg whites, and vegetables. The entrée of crisp shrimp and lobster sauce always reminds me of my parents' cooking. The sauce actually does not contain any lobster. Rather, it is typically used to flavor lobster and is one of my favorite lobster preparations. The sauce is a subtle blend of garlic, black beans, mushrooms and egg whites. It sounds odd but the nuanced flavors really work well together. None of the flavors dominate the sauce but each adds a different texture and flavor to the meal. It definitely complements the delicate taste of the shrimp. I recommend it highly. The fried rice is a different matter. I am accustomed to a bolder, more flavorful rice with Chinese sausage, fried egg, peas, maybe even dried shrimp, something that could stand on its own as a meal. Here, the fried rice tasted rather bland and not worth the extra $1 paid. We even had time for dessert so I went with the Salted Caramel cake. This dessert had changed from when it was introduced last year. The mini dessert of caramel butter cake and caramel/vanilla icing was well-portioned but average tasting. Not worth the 500+ calories. I definitely preferred last year's version with the chocolate cake and caramel sauce. Service was efficient. Perhaps too efficient as the server cleared our plates before one of my friends was done. As a side note, PF Chang's has probably one of best curated, restaurant-operated Pinterest boards. Those pictures also appear on Yelp. I love the fact that I can check out a meal before I order.

The best thing about my P.F. Chang's dinner experience was spending it with my daughter. Maybe the hype of the food made me over judgmental, but I was not really impressed with the food, cost, or service. I got the combination pad thai (recommended by our waitress), and my daughter got a tofu, broccoli something or other. Actually, the tofu in her dish was really good! We also got the vegetarian lettuce roll up, which was OK conceptually, but WAY too bland. My pad thai was OK, but again it was extremely bland. The shrimp was good, but the chicken "medallions" were overly cooked and chewy. We were talking and I knew we'd be sitting there for a while, so I tipped a solid 30% when the bill came, and for the next 30 minutes we never saw our waitress again, not even for water refills. My overall impression is that the ambiance is nice, but not worth what you're paying for.

Sam basic PF Chang's that you will get anywhere else. The waitress did forget my dessert to-go though... :\

I was there for happy hour. I most definitely recommend the organic agave margarita, YUM! I also had the shrimp lo mein and it was great. Tried a bite of their crab fried rice without bacon, very good! The service was excellent also.

Had lunch with my family (my mother & sisters) 7 of us at PF Chang's Dearborn and it was not a good experience. The waiter was terrible and the food was cold and terrible too. I was so disappointed and 4 out 7 felt the same way. But everybody felt the same way about the Waiter. I ordered Crispy Honey Shrimps and they were NOT crispy. They we're soaked in this terrible sauce. So disappointing.

Yeah yeah yeah. It's a chain. But it's a damn good one. And this location in particular is quite nice and staffed with some really nice and patient folks. It's a great place to hit when you're running around the mall and looking for nourishment, like my family and I did a few weeks ago. Now, grandma was particularly excited about the honey shrimp. Due to some medication she also cannot eat ANY spice so the honey shrimp is perfect. Sweet sauce on breaded and fried shrimp and white rice. A tasty but mild dish for her. Unfortunately this time around the dish came out strangely spicy. We brought it to their attention and the staff was incredibly accommodating and apologized for the mix-up (likely it was cooked in a pan following another spicy dish and it had a trace left). The manager asked what they could do and offered to fix up another plate to send home with us. Nice! Great way to fix a problem. The rest of the food, as always, was great. The Mongolian Beef was fresh and delicious, the green onions were such a beautiful bright color and cooked perfectly. The curry shrimp and chicken noodles were so tasty and filled, again, with super fresh veggies. Chicken lettuce wraps? THE BOMB. Tasty egg rolls as well. I have a few local Chinese joints that I prefer over PF Chang's and I choose to support them over a chain (plus they're MUCH cheaper with larger portions for great leftovers) but whenever I'm in the mall this a great place to go. Come with a group and get the Great Wall of Chocolate. Or just get the mini version they serve in little shot glasses for a bit of a sweet treat after indulging on other spicy/savory items.

Great place considering it is a chain and they have a tendency to rush you through your meal. I love the Kung pao scallops and their crab ragoons. Plus it has a cool chill atmosphere even though I hate their music.

Love PF Changs, and the staff at this location is actually pretty nice. I'm gluten free and they work with me. Mall location, but still nicely kept.

2nd time here for dinner. Horrible service as they are way understaffed. Lots of empty tables with dirty dishes. Food came out cold and had to be sent back. Lunch service is always good. Don't bother coming here for dinner.

Jacob and I came here for a nice dinner a couple weeks ago. We made reservations and were seated immediately upon our arrival. Luckily, we got a nice, intimate booth with a great view. We had a really nice server who explained the whole dinner process. She was really nice and perfectly attentive to our needs. I was shocked at the portions. It's much smaller than traditional Detroit Chinese restaurants. This isn't the type of place you'd bring leftovers home from. Regardless, our dishes were both really good. My only disappointment is that you can't substitute the white rice that comes with dishes with fried rice. They only sell their fried rice as an entree, which is like $7. And there's way too much of it and it's undoubtedly wasted. We even went for dessert... Cheesecake with berries. The cheesecake was awesome but could have used more berries. Otherwise, I'd say everything else was perfect. Our experience was nice. The service was wonderful and the food was good. I'd go back to P.F. Changs.

I really have to admit that P.F. Chang's is growing on me. I have never been that crazy about the food but found myself eating there more then planed and enjoying my dinner selections. It always seems that a friend invites me to lunch or dinner and since i'm not a rude eating companion I accept. I have notice that some things are not the highest quality of products. The things I'm referring to would be items that are frozen then fried and then canned sauce added to the wok and mixed. There are some dishes that I think are outstanding such as the Stir Fried Eggplant, the Dan Dan Noodles and the Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps . These all seem to have a little higher level of cooking and in my opinion delicious. I really do think they should work on the happy-hour specials. What they offer for app specials is a little embarrassing. They have a selection of dim sum that are around 3 to 4 dollars and come three to an order. They are not that big and you would have to order about three choices to fill up. The other apps are around 6 and 7 dollars and in my estimation your almost better off ordering regular menu items. The prices for drinks are good but I think there are more solid choices in the area. The service has always been great and can't remember the service ever overshadowing the food in a bad way. The restaurants have always have had a nice appeal inside and have a dark intimate atmosphere. I really believe that I'm going to add another star on my next visit if I don't Im sure the other hundred reviewers that love this place will make me.

The following ratings apply to pretty much every one of the nation's 1.5 million P.F. Chang's: 2 stars: Whatever you order off the menu, this is it's ranking. Broccoli and Beef? Sesame Chicken? Doesn't matter. 4 stars: Whatever dish you order off the menu drenched in P.F. Chang's hot mustard sauce, this is it's ranking. 3 stars: The service. Sometimes you'll get a great server and it will swing toward five stars. Sometimes your server will be the Bride of Frankenstein and it'll swing towards one star. There's no way of knowing which one you'll get, and this is the wild card of any P.F. Chang's experience. All in all, it's a fairly safe meal if you're not in the mood for being adventurous. Which happens to everyone now and then.

I'm giving this place 5 stars because they deserve it. While yelping a nice Chinese place to eat yesterday, we found several other places that had 4-5 stars that were complete dumps. We went inside one on West Road, and we had to walk back out because it felt so filthy. PF Changs on the other hand was the polar opposite of everything you get from most of the other Chinese restaurants. We Had street Noodles and Pan Seared Beef. Probably some of the best Chinese we've ever had, but not what you're traditionally used to at your neighborhood "Asia Express" If you want that don't come here. This is a little more pricey, but you get something nicer that fast food. On the service, the people work their butts off. It was sweetest day and we hadn't made reservations. As I said we were driving around looking for something new. There was a 40 minute wait, so we sat down and ate at the bar. We were taken care of by 3 different people including a Manager in training (lou) He was great, he spent a lot of time with us showing us the menu and explaining the sauces. Captain Carl, took care of our drinks as well. Very friendly service. Where we were sitting was right by the kitchen, I could see inside and it looked to be very clean and well organized. Also not what you would expect from your local Chinese establishment. If you want fast food, go to your local "China Express". If you want something unique go to PF Changs.

Expensive. Slow, awful service. Not worth the cost and wait. We went in a group for a birthday dinner. The bill wasn't correct, we had to constantly request drink refills, and our desserts took over 20 minutes.... to get them TO GO! The food was adequate, but certainly not worth the wait, awful service, and price!!!

The service during lunch is horrible and slow but the food is great. Don't go here during lunch unless you have some time to spare. Now, onto the food. I got a chicken salad for lunch and let me say, it's one of the best salads I've had in a long time. Besides having an awesome dressing, it's piled high! My girlfriend got the honey chicken with white rice and she wasn't over the moon with it but I still have not been able to stop thinking about that salad. They can keep the alcoholic drinks.. not much to be desired there... but that salad! haha.. it was $8.95 for lunch and it was slamming!

PF Changs, you're saucy, and I like it! Returned last night for a late dinner and had some of THE BEST service I've had anywhere in quite a while. Our waiter, Kenneth was AMAZING. He explained the changes on the menu, made great recommendations of dishes for us to try, and had the most delightful sense of humor and personality! Proof that great service goes a LONG way!! If you're hitting up this particular PF Changs, I suggest you request his section!

Now this rating is just for this PF Chang not all PF Chang. This is a unique review since my group were there for the "Taste of Dearborn" event. We stopped there for the 2nd year in a row and they had a small section outside just for the event people. Well it was full and there was no one in the outside area to let us know any details when we will be seated of just be there to greet us. We waited for almost 10 minutes until we just went inside and they told us that they couldn't seat us inside because that's for the "real customers". Really?! Don't they know that we are real customers since if the samples are good, we will come back? Of course we left and in my opinion about the food, I have had it before. It's americanized chinese food to attract the typical non-daring eaters. I never thought PF Chang has anything that's great. I'm asian and I know that lettuce wraps aren't made with cheap iceberg lettuce. We use green leaf or red leaf lettuce... never iceberg. Like I said, if you like this type of generic overpriced food, then that's cool but I would skip this location. (I know there are some people who believe PF Chang is the greatest chain restaurant ever.)

Well, it's the same as all the other P.F. Changs I have been to around the country. Nothing amazing, just chain food Chinese, on a Olive Garden level but a little nicer.

I was also so happy they opened P.F. Changs at Fairlane Mall. Have had a few business lunches there, service is excellent. Lettuce Wraps - Great I highly recommend Northern Style Spare Ribs as an appetizer, they are dry rubbed not too messy. Of course I had their Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna Rare **** YUMMY served with green tea soba noodles. Loved the tuna, the green soba noodles, look like they came out of the play dough factory but were decent tasting.

Love PF Changs...normally. I asked for the ginger chicken with light sauce and it came swimming in sauce. The bartender looked at it and asked if that was light enough and i asked, what do you think? He shrugged and said sorry and left me to my chicken swimming in sauce. Bad move...bad customer service.

Loved this place. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I wanted to "re-create" this dish they had and they were completely okay with it. We were seated quickly, we din't have to wait too long for our food. Great experience.

I love P.F. Changs! So I was thrilled when they opened up in Dearborn. There food is really good. the restaurant is really trendy, and it's not expensive! I also have to say the service is pretty good, but make sure to make a reservation because they are ALWAYS busy on the weekends! p.s. The banana spring rolls for dessert are amazing.

My wife and I went there this past friday night for our date night. We have been the previously two times and everything was great. This time our waiter, took our order. We ordered off the GF menu for an appetizer. That came out no problem and was delicious it was the lettuce wraps! Well she ordered GF Crab Fried Rice and I ordered a Chicken and Beef PF Changs Combo Fried Rice. We waited 40 mins after the appetizer and a waitress comes out with Crab Fried Rice and Salt and Pepper Prawns. I said it was wrong and we had one entree off the GF menu and she said the waiter did not put it in as GF and she would talk with him. We were short on time at this point. The waiter came by and when he never wrote the order down on his slip then pulled out the slip he still had it completely wrong. We just told him we had to go at this point because of time. Waiting for the bill he then came to the table and said it was on the house, I tried telling him it is not an issue and I would like to pay but he just left while I was doing that to go work another table. If you are reading this again this is one bad experience out of 3, but please make sure the waiter writes your order down to begin with. It seemed like he felt really uncomfortable waiting tables. I hope he can learn from his experience as a learning one.

I found the service to be lackluster. I walked in and was not greeted by the hostess. She was too busy chatting with other co-workers. I sat at the bar to eat and the bartender was rushed and friendly. The food was good, not great. I ordered the Mango Chicken. Portions were small, p Next time I think of Chinese food, I going to stick to an independent establishment.

I love this PF Chang's. I normally only eat here for lunch with friends on a saturday, but have had dinner here a couple times as well. Service is always perfect at this location, and very friendly. Looks is consistently great. My fav is the crab rangoon, split with friends, followed by the honey shrimp with rice. Perfect portion sizes. highly recommend this place. Oh, the ambience is great too, low lighting, relaxing, quiet.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
