Great place for sushi whether it's your first time or want diff options for sushi than where you may usually go. I have been going here since they open down the street originally and now that they moved across from Crave($$$$) it's even BETTER in price, seating options, now they have a bar and habatchi and parking is WAY more convenient plus FINALLY Dearborn has free parking now. Benihana has nothing on this place, except more expensive and less amount of habatchi food. Give them a try!

The food is good but that's about it. The service is a drive-by and no smile. I don't know if I've ever been asked if I wanted anything other than the water. Because the service is so lazy I always feel like I'm waiting when I should just be content. I know there were a lot of complaints about the old building, but honestly...I missed it and the servers that didn't make the move.

Ordered 4 sushi rolls for takeout...worst decision. We ordered the same rolls a few weeks back when we sat in the actual restaurant and they looked nothing like they did. All of them looked and tasted like a Philadelphia yet the person on the phone insisted our order was correct....it wasn't and I wish I took pictures to prove it. I advise to order takeout somewhere else

I've never been to a restaurant with worse service. Blond female was supposed to be our waitress but ofcourse, we had another guy waiting on us. He actually knew what he was doing since the woman only brought our food and walked by 5 times without asking if we need anything. The food was great as always but honestly, how could you be a waitress with no interest in the customers?

So it was my turn to be bossed around, and my friends ordered for me. I didn't even know what I was getting. I like to know my ingredients and what it is I'm ingesting. I wasn't disappointed, I just didn't know what they were to explain them to you. Just pictures lol. They were tasty, some a little spicy but was so smooth. The new kabuki is huge! Kinda to big. Felt bad because it was so slow. Servers were very pleasant.

While I do like the new location, I was disappointed that some things I enjoy have been removed from the menu. It was good. I enjoyed the seaweed salad, black mushroom roll and tempura shrimp roll. Nothing over the top great, nothing bad. It's close to home so I am certain we will return

This is one of the worst sushi restaurants I've ever been to. For starters, the seats were very uncomfortable (the arm rests dig into the sides of your hips and buttocks), and the dim lighting made it difficult for the older family member that was with me to see the menu (it was roughly 2 PM when we dined in, which seems to be a very odd time for dimmed lighting in the first place). Most of the items on the menu were a tad pricey, especially the appetizers. The waiter was courteous, but forgot to bring us the hot green tea we ordered. Although we were disappointed that we didn't get to try it, we weren't charged for it. I ordered the shrimp tempura lunch boat, and it was awful. The tempura batter was very soggy and greasy and the shrimp was extremely pungent (sickeningly so; I dare say if it wasn't already past the expiration date, it was going bad). The dressing on the small salad that came with each lunch boat tasted like an orange scented cleaning product, and that really disappointed my family member, who was excited about the description of it. Furthermore, the sushi rolls and appetizers that came with it were almost flavorless, and the wasabi sauce was so mild that the pickled ginger was spicier. The waiter was upset that I had barely touched my food, and that my family member had a lackluster opinion about her dish (although she found hers far more palatable than I found mine, and did eat about half of it; she ordered the beef bulgogi lunch boat), but didn't offer to remove the charge [for mine]. I've had better sushi from grocery stores to be honest.

The chicken fried and veggie fried rice is the best! It has an egg wrap around it and it's enough for 2!

Visited this place today for lunch. The sushi was really good. They have this special roll with spicy scallop on top that was out of this world. And the staff was amazing, very nice environment and family oriented.

nice bar. the wait staff was very good. the food disappointing. the tempura was just bad. the coating was heavy and tasteless. the sushi was OK, nothing special. the wasabi has no kick too it, very strange. I would try the entertainment sometime and skip the food.

I absolutely adored kabuki before it transferred to the new location, which is only a block difference. The food is really good, however the wait staff aren't. I understand that it can become hectic when the place is jam packed or when there are many new waiters and waitresses. But when there are staff members who are just standing around, getting a glass of water and menus should not take 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the wait staff makes quite a few mistakes. The only reason I've put up with it is because the food has been good and prices always reasonable. Unfortunately I will never return to Kabuki because of a recent experience that was pretty much the last straw for me. We requested a specific table and were told that it would be open and given to us once to wiped down, which we happily waited for because it's further away from the crowd. After 25 minutes of waiting, a gentleman (a young man I haven't seen before until recently) took names down because a line had formed after myself and a friend. We were put down first, however even after explaining why we waited quite a while, he gave the table to a person that was at the end of the line. And when I pointed it out to him, his response was "oh". That's not an "oh". That was pure ignorance. We walked right out. I don't ever plan to come back, and this used to be my go to place every Saturday. Ross has always been a wonderful waiter, you should start looking for people like him.

Kabuki is my go to place for sushi. The service is always great with the sushi very tasty as well. It is reasonably priced. I personally love the catapilla roll and dragon roll The new location gives this great restaurant a great feel.

This review is in regards to the new location in Dearborn. The sushi was delicious, very fresh, and reasonably priced. The service was down right terrible. My party of 6 had a reservation, which was made online. When the party arrived the hostess stated "they don't take reservations." Luckily there was an open table. We sat there for about 30 minutes before someone even brought water, and the place was pretty empty. We had to flag someone down and ask if they could be our waiter for the evening. I probably won't return.

Great sushi as usual but hibachi was closed. And we were looking forward to that. Maybe it's a Sunday thing? This location is much bigger and definitely more quiet. I personally appreciate that! We will be back.

My boyfriend and I used to love coming to Kabuki but after we stopped coming here (due to inconvenience), and came back, it's definitely not the same as it used to be. Sushi is okay but I've definitely experienced better. We tried the monkey ball appetizer, which was mushroom stuffed with spicy tuna and cream cheese with a house sauce, and it overly salty and overly breaded for our taste. It would have been better if they used a light breading such as panko but they used thick fried breading where you could barely taste the mushroom. The crunchy dragon roll was one we loved, and generally I usually like the double climax roll, but it wasn't that good this time around. We also ordered the yum yum roll which was not that good. I believe they put eel in it, which was way too dry for the roll. Usually yum yum rolls should be soft and creamy but it was dry and not good. Miso soup is free, which from what I remember, it has been. Experience used to be way better at the old place where I didn't have to hear all the servers crowded around the host area chatting away. Don't think I'll be coming back as it's out of the way and I'm not gonna drive out of the way for subpar sushi and a subpar experience.

Honestly miss the old location! Recently i went with a few friends to the new location and it was larger yes but empty. We were actually the only ones eating it was incredibly awkward. But my problem with Kabuki was the service, one of the main things i like about this restaurant was the free miso soup! Our waitress forgot it and when i asked she only brought one for me not the whole table. But honestly the food is good! Loved my crunch roll and California Roll! And its not very expensive

Kabuki is the best sushi restaurant in town! Also, their new location is beautiful and very big. They also have live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. Also, there's a section for the hibachi grill, where the chef prepares the food right in front of you! I love kabuki & the sushi there is amazing!
