Terrible. We ordered take-out--Szechuan Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Spring Rolls and Egg Rolls. The Szechuan Chicken was the worst I've ever had. There was no flavor, with a bit of heat. It was almost as if it was 'left-over'. The vegetables were overcooked and not a good variety of chinese vegetables, mostly beans, mushrooms and sprouts. The spring rolls were cold and mushy. I will NEVER eat here again. Not only that, the restaurant itself smelled bad, musty and old. If the food had been great and the restaurant smelled bad...fine. But in this case it is a double-bad.

Just had take out from Red Ruby last night, and it was delicious. Never had Chinese in the area before, so I was taken aback by the addition of a roll, but I totally loved it. I got the General Tso's chicken dinner meal, which came with the chicken, fried rice, an egg roll, and a roll. I asked for it spicy, which didn't come to fruition, but it was good nonetheless. I tasted a little different than the General Tso's that I'd had in the past, but definitely not in a bad way. The rice was good, and the egg roll did the job as well. And for about $7.50, it was a great meal. I would definitely order from here again.

Red Ruby is where my family goes for Chinese. My mother-in-law got us started through family dinners with 25+ people, we tried a few others, but none met our expectations. The Sesame Chicken is excellent.

Okay I used to live in Redford and this was my favorite Chinese restaurant. A real mom and pop establishment. The owner and his wife and their college age children will work the front register. My orders have always been correct. The prices are cheap and the portions are generous . Everything we get tastes good and looks/smells good. Everything... Egg rolls, hot and sour soup, sesame chicken, shrimp fried rice, beef chop suey , general tso chicken, almond chicken, pepper steak, shrimp egg foo yung, ... Everything taste fresh and flavorful. The beef has the consistency of beef steak the chicken had the consistency of white chicken breast... I shudder to think what other restaurants use that has that rubbery texture... I looked for 4 years for a good substitute in my new community. I give up... It is a 20 min drive but if I want Chinese food it is worth the drive.

I don't live in the area anymore so I don't go very often, but was there today. I love their pork fried rice. It's the best I've ever had anywhere. Their egg rolls are good too, especially with the hot mustard. I believe they prepare the mustard themselves. The lunch specials are good, cheap and give you a lot of food for your money. The only thing I don't like is they don't serve fountain pop. You get one can of pop and a glass of ice. No free refills.

I went here because of the good reviews. It was pretty bad. The chicken tastes like ketchup. The sesame and general sauce both taste exactly the same.

I love the egg rolls here! Best on the planet. Have never tasted another egg roll better than theirs! The friendliest people in the world. Been going here for years. Back when I was younger, about 7, the owner, an older Chinese man used to show me magic and either pull a dollar from behind my ear or a sucker. Usually it was a sucker lol. But overall the quality of food is perfect, service is amazing and just friendly people.

It's good for inexpensive Chinese food and for quite. The owner is nice and always out. I have been coming here for almost all my life. I always get sweet and sour chicken. With chicken rice soup. You have an issue and the owner will fix it.

Red Ruby used to be better years ago. Now its Good Days & Bad Days. Almond Chicken comes w/o almonds. Chicken Fried Rice can be moist one day and dry the next time. Vegetable Spring Rolls are good. Egg Drop soup is good.

We have only ever gotten take out from here, but we come back almost every week and are never disappointed. The noteworthy thing; last time I was there I tried their General Tso's for the first time, and it was done up differently than other iterations, as it was dipped strips of chicken instead of bite-size or comprably shaped pieces. Almond chicken is terrific.

This is the best Chinese food I've had in a very long time. I am extremely picky with my food. They had absolutely no problem customizing my dish for me the way I liked it. I ordered chicken lo mein with vegetables and it was perfect! Their hot and sour soup was one of the best I've ever had. My boyfriend ordered the General Tso's chicken and loved it, it was really good. And to top off the great food, the owner is so nice and friendly! This is definitely the only place I will go to from now on when I want Chinese food. I can totally see how they've stayed in business for over 30 years!

Everything I have had here is good, but the best is the Sesame Chicken. The chicken seems to be all white meat and the coating is not soggy. The sauce is flavorful and can be ordered mild or hot or in between. Week day lunch specials are down right cheap and come with soup, roll and tea. Staff and management are always friendly.

Hands down the best Chinese in the area, This Family has the best take out ever and like most Asian take out you get a lot of bang for your buck. The Red Ruby also has a full dine in area that can accommodate almost any party size. Make sure to try the Sweet & Sour Chicken and Chicken Chop Suey. Great Food aside you will always be greeted by the best pair of restaurant owners around who you can tell take a great deal of pride in the restaurant and there family.

Hadn't been here in years so one day a few weeks ago I decided to try their lunch special. It's always been a good deal. I ordered the almond chicken lunch WELL WELL done. The egg drop soup was pretty good. The dinner rolls were stale. When I got my chicken it was FAR from well done, in fact it may have been undercooked cuz the breading was mushy on the inside. GROSS. I dont know what happened to this place, the food used to be delicious....maybe they were having an "off" day. Either way, I probably wont be back.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
