Pretty good faruj. Just make sure they don't overcook it. Nice customer service. It comes with delicious garlic sauce and pickles. If you don't like something make sure to go back and they'll fix it for you.

I've stopped here for a few informal dinners over the past year and it's always been pretty tasty. I'm boring so I stick with their chicken shawarma, but what a delicious shawarma it is! For $3.50, you get a huge portion of chicken, garlic sauce and pickles (none for me please) wrapped in a fresh pita. It's heaven. The husband gets the shawarma as well with the addition of their fattoush salad. Mmm their fattoush looks and smells incredible. If I ate vegetables, I'd be all over it. The place isn't much to look at, and for the love of little baby Jesus, do not ever use the bathroom! Think of it as a Middle Eastern diner. Some cheaper dishes, some moderate ones, but nothing too fancy when it comes to atmosphere and service.

Best chicken swarmas around! My husband and I love their food and the people are great!
(5)Michael H.
Thr meat swarma was tasty the fries hot and crispy, thr lental soup so-so.overall damn good eats.will be back

Have been here once at the recommendation of a taxi driver. The decor is nothing special, but it is one of the best fattoush salads I've had. The pita chips were freshly fried and delicious! Good for a quick, casual lunch or take out.

So disappointed. Asked if the chicken shwarma would have a lot of white meat and was told yes and that it was the beginning of the meat and would be good. I took almost all of the meat off the sandwich as it was almost all dark meat, fat and gristle. The sandwich was soaked in grease. Worst chicken shwarma I have ever had.

Love the food, the huge portion, the fast service and the affordable price. The beef shawarma is simply delicious, so is the chicken shawarma, and you can't miss their supper creamy garlic sauce. Try out their tabouli, it is the real deal. I came to town for couple of days visit, and ate there two times.

This place is better than the Dearborn location. Also this place is the bomb. Chicken shawarma is the best thing here and it is the best chicken shawarma anywhere. I don't even like chicken that much. Get the chicken shawarma!
(5)Reem F.
This is a good place for shawarma and a staple of Dearborn/ Dearborn Heights. The only reason, I gave them a low review is because of there service. It's SO slow. It's easier to order take out and double the time of what they say. Their baba and hommus are really good!
(3)Zahraa H.
This place is the worst example of Arab/Lebanese food. Their food is so bland and flavorless. It's like eating nothing but getting the carbs and fats anyways. It's not cheap but not expensive. It's fair. Very crowded all the time and not at all a classy place to have a meal. The workers are very nice and the atmosphere is very Lebanon-ish, which I love, but I would not recommend or go again.

Everything here is good but not amazing you'll probably enjoy your meal but you won't rave unless you're 16-19 yrs old cause at that age you still think fruit loops are actually a fruit based food. Definitely try it. Their chicken quesadilla is good place to start. There combo for 2 is good amount of food for the money. 3.5 STARS.
(3)Michael R.
RIP OFFFFFFF! Ordered a whole debone chicken. And only received 2 pieces of chicken. Called and complained and the employees said the owners have them only put 2 pieces and that it is out of their control. $25 for 2 pieces of chicken and hummus is a rip off. Never going back again.

The food at Hamido is really good. The hummus is pretty outstanding; perfect texture and very delicious. The sandwich and entree sizes are within norms as well. The Hamido for two is actually plenty of food for 3 people. And at $20, it's a bargain. However, the service just plain stinks. I've gotten take out a half dozen times in the last year, and for some reason it ALWAYS takes twice as long as they say it'll take. The last two times I ordered from Hamido, i got two tawook sandwiches. 10-15 minutes is the general time frame given by whoever works there. However (and I swear on my daughters life), there has NEVER been an instance where I haven't had to wait an additional 5-15 minutes longer once i got there. And it's not like they are jammed with orders. It shouldn't take 25 minutes to prepare 2 chicken sandwiches at 4:30pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Seriously, whats the deal? Additionally, they need to update the prices on their takeout menu. As of 9-30-2014, the takeout menus list the tawook sandwich as being $3.49. So why am I being charged $9.00 for two? Am I missing something? Also, the girls that work there are generally nice, but the dudes behind the counter need to take a course in customer interaction. Smile buddy, i just paid $9 for two sandwiches that cost $3.50 each....and waited an additional 15 minutes longer than I expected. Plus, Im now late for work. So...yeah, this is metro Detroit. Huge Mediterranean population = many more Middle Eastern restaurants. There's better service elsewhere. Which means that Hamido has seen the last of my $.

Best middle eastern food ever!! Local middle eastern restaurant is way too expensive and quite frankly not close to being this good. Definitely would recommend coming here whenever hungry for a lot of home cooked food. Only problem was the interior but it didn't matter to myself!

Super excited a few years ago to see Hamido occupy what was at one point my favorite donut shop in the area. If my beloved Sunbeam Donuts couldn't hang around then I at least wanted something good to come in in it's stead. Since then a number of cafes/diners have come and gone but Hamido was the one that I finally was willing to give a chance due to it's awesome location on Warren. This one isn't quite as great as their first location but it's A-OK. The service is fast, the food is cheap and tasty (although I could do with a little more of a garlic in the garlic sauce), and it's so close to my house so I get a schwarma fix when I need it. The space isn't anything special but I'm usually in and out pretty quickly so I'm not there for ambiance. Overall it's a great local lunch spot but it doesn't quite live up the awesomeness that is the original location. It may not be a delicious cream filled puff of deep fried dough but I'll take it!
(3)Wendy C.
I prefer this location over the one on Warren in Dearborn because (1) it's more spacious, more comfortable seating; (2) slightly better, more consistent service; (3) parking lot is easier to access. Favourite items include: - falafel, pillowy centre with a crunchy skin, one of the best I've had in Dearborn area which has a high standard for middle eastern food - tabbouleh, always fresh, well balanced flavour without being too tart, the right amount of bulgar adds texture and earthiness to the taste - baba is smokey and smooth - chicken shwarma sandwich is usually pretty good too It's a dive-y place but the food makes it a worthy destination. Give it a try if you are in the vicinity

BEST Arabic food I've had - hands down. I assume the owner is the same for both Hamidos - but this one, in my opinion, tastes better - with better seating and cleanliness.

I went to this place on recommendation of a Detroit resident, said it is a down to earth good Labanese Middle Eastern place. We get there and begin to order and the very intuitive waitress was like wait, you are ordering too much food, and indeed at the end of it, it was too much food. By the way there was two waitresses there and they both helped us in everything, I like the team work. We ordered the grilled combo tray for so many people and man o man, that food was just as delish as mom can make it, the chicken specially had such flavor and was so soft breast it was sooo yummy and the kubbeh was amazingly fluffy. The rest of the tray, the meat kabobs, falafel, sauces, salads, was just all delicious. It was above expectations, it was Cheap (comparing to SF Prices) but it was generally cheap, If you are looking for a simple good, just like back home (middle east) experience, I recommend this place for you Cheers

Woohoo! As good as it gets! Truly the best lentil soup, hummus, and meat platter I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. The lenitl soup warmed the soul without leaving you stuffed. The hummus was as smooth as the thighs of a frog. The meat, OH the meat! So many flavors, so many varieties each one deeper more complex than the next. Oh and howabout that salad? mmmhmmmm

Same family (brothers) as the one located on Warren Avenue. The exception is this location has more seating and a larger parking lot. Water is served in bottles, which can be taken with you My chicken schwarma sandwich was perfection. Pita lightly crisped, packed with flavorful moist pieces of chicken, silvers of pickle and plentiful dollops of garlic cream. The juice bar does not offer carrot-beet, darn it. I settled for plain carrot which turned out to be delish. The service is fast. Waitstaff is attentive and smiles. Pricing is very reasonable. I'll be returning.

Summary: (1.) Great food & service (2.) Skip the smoothies (3.) Cleanliness was an issue. We ordered the Lamb Kafta and Falafel sandwich, both were really really good! Also ordered a strawberry/banana and guava/banana smoothie. Both were terrible, it had this chemical or plastic-y flavor...told the server about it and he said it's made with fresh fruit and ice, so we figured maybe the ice was dirty, old, or was just sitting in some funky ice trays where they absorbed the nasty flavor. Anyhoo, we asked for the carrot juice instead (which isn't made with any ice) and guess what? It was delicious! Ok, now my final beef with the place was the unisex restroom. There was a ton of hair all over the sink from a customer or worker that had shaved, presumably, their beard. Appealing? I sink not! : /

Really delicious chicken sandwiches & salad. Not the most atmospheric* (i know that's not likely a word!) place but you'll enjoy yourself and not break the bank. They deliver too!
(5)Michael W.
Huge delicious meal! Came to town for business, got a random tip from a local and loved it!

~Review for Ford Rd location~ Looking at the red plastic booths and limited decor . . . this is not a place claiming to impress based on ambience. The food, however, leaves me drooling. 1) roasted chicken - I thought this was a stable recipe produced by many with little variation. My taste buds were delighted that I was so wrong. Both the red and white meat are moist and flavorful without being overwhelming. The best part is that they roast with a piece of bread over the chicken. What that means is bonus crispy and juicy goodness without the guilt. 2) shawarma - a good combination of the crusty meat exposed to the heat on the rotating spit and the slowly marinated and juicy pieces freshly carved for my enjoyment. 3) baba ghanoush - my personal preference is a subtle smoky flavor with a smooth texture and they consistently deliver here. 4) tabbouleh - the disclaimer here is that my husband's aunt makes the best tabbouleh in the world. However, when she is busy, Hamido comes in a close second. Not too tart or soggy and always fresh. Haven't ventured to the Hamido's on Warren Ave. Don't really need to when this one is just down the street!

Garlic sauce is very mild which I really like . Like the bottle of water and the pop served I'm a can... I am a clean freak and I really don't like drinking out of restaurant glasses. Atmosphere is lacking but the lunch special of a shwarma sandwich ,fries and pop for $4.99 is very nice. Decided to get the baba on the side and it was very good until I found a hair in it. I don't return to restaurants when I find hair in my food. I understand it is impossible to not make food with out eventually getting a hair in it but it just turns my stomach so much I can't get it out of my mind... Food was 3 star but the hair.knocked it down to 2...

It's not a bad little spot but it's not the best either (2.5 overall). Recently grabbed take-a-way & they forgot to place bread in the parcel (seriously how can you eat?) During a past weekend the bill was wrong. I'd rather go to the other location on Warren if I am sitting down but it's a decent take-a-way if you're just looking to grab something (just make sure you call ahead & give them the full 15 mins!)

As a visitor from the culinary capital of North America, i was impressed by the quality and taste of the food. The Arabs that operate the place are wonderful. The scarved waitress was lovely and i have to say, i will return to New Orleans and inform people of this place.
(4)Moe M.
The food here is pretty good. The only complaint is that the shawarma does tend to be a bit oily. And also if you have a dining area, make sure that it is well serviced. I wouldn't sit and dine there but I would definitely recommend take out. Good friendly people that work there.
(4)Ameenah A.
So if I were to rate the food alone it would be a 4 star rating, but if I factor in customer service and the fact that they do try to rip off certain customers, I have to lower the rating. If you do end up going, order the chicken quesadilla it is amazing! Also, hamidos have probably the best fries I've ever had! (And I love fries).

Tasty goodness - highly recommend the fattoush salad, which I had today. Wow, so crunchy and fresh. I requested chicken on top, which wasn't the moistest I've ever had but it had a grilled taste to it. Simple interior and exterior. Lots of similar cuisine to be found in the area so this place doesn't stick out like gold, but the staff were friendly and answered my questions well enough. Location is prime being right off Ford. I do plan on returning and bringing my mom to try. Exterior: 5/10, needs fresh siding and paint. Interior: 6/10, some signs look newer but the seating is poor and oddly arranged. Location: 8/10 Food Taste: 10/10 they do Mediteranean well. Staff: 7/10, the cashier was super friendly and recommended I try the salad with pita on the side instead of a wrap. Overall Experience: 8/10 somewhat confusing if you're going to dine in, I think they'd prefer you to just sit down and they'll wait on you but I'm not sure.

Terrible service. Employees argue with each other in front of customers with no shame. I went with my wife and the waitress gave us the menus and she did not bother to ask us when we will be ready. We figured she must be busy. We looked at the menus and figured out what we wanted then waited for 15 minutes and she did not come back yet. Decided to leave the place after all. The place is probably appropriate for pick up orders only.

I love this place! A friend of mine introduced me a couple weeks ago and now I'm hooked. Their shush tawook is some of the best I've had. The chicken is seasoned well and extremely tender. My second favorite is the beef sharworma. They also have incredible garlic sauce and rice. I highly recommend Hamido!
(4)Charlie O.
Girls That work the counter are not very friendly . Ordered a hummus to go and they couldn't find the paprika to sprinkle on top so she just bagged it and gave me the order I asked That it be put on and she immediately got an attitude. While waiting for my carry out I could hear them talking about customers that left with there carry outs. the rude service happened the past 3 times I have been there no more chances Back to Al Sultan for my hummus and carry out needs
(2)Kawal J.
Really good middle eastern food. The service is generally good. only sometimes you see a not so good server here. But you should go for their delicious food! Fresh and very well flavored meat
(4)Kassem K.
I would give the food a 3 star but the service is 0. They charge you different than advertised prices. They get enough business and make enough money to update their menu with new prices. In addition they will charge you extra if you want extra dressing on your fattouch. Some times they charge you a $1 for a can of pepsi, some times $1.50. I witnessed one time one of there customers argue with them about charging him a $1 for a small plastic cup of water. They try to rip you off in any way possible. Thats why they don't provide you with a detailed receipt.
