I'm really torn on reviewing here now. Saturdays and Sundays, this place has a solid breakfast menu (which is available all day/night as well), and their breakfasts are really great. I'd give it a five star on that alone. However...popped in here for dinner one night, and all three of us got horrifically ill. Look, I'm not saying it WAS the food, and I'm not saying it WASN'T the food...I'm just saying that the one and only point that all three of us had in common from that day was being at this place roughly four hours before the onset of symptoms... ...that, you're welcome, I will spare you the details of. So it COULD have been a coincidence...but I also haven't ventured back here for a weekend breakfast since, either. I don't believe in living your life in fear...but I also don't believe in juggling with knives, either. All in all, the same thing could happen anywhere I suppose, and with the number of times I've been there for those weekend stacks of pancakes, I suppose one bad experience would be par for the course...but...yeesh, this was a doozy.

Only been here twice and never will be back. Both times food was horrible! Thought it might have been just the a fluke the first time but nope the second was just as bad! It wouldn't let me give no stars or else I would.

Found this place by accident, and shame on us because the place is so close to our house. First, the food selection is just amazing. From breakfast plates to steak dinner extravaganza. Second, the portions are just right AND delicious. My husband and I ordered the barley with mushroom soup. It was so good, it made me happy. From there on, I know I'm a very satisfied customer. We are definitely returning.

This is my first time giving a one-star review. So please enjoy. I live near Michael's Kitchen and have never tried it before but always wanted to. So when my friend and I went Saturday morning we were expectations because it was very busy and it seemed to be the place to be and since it was busy that should be a sign that the food is good and the service is good too. I honestly cannot remember when I had because my rage was so blinding due to the WORST service I've ever experienced in my life. Let me give you the run down. When I asked her for a refill of my water when she came back to check on us she SCREAMED at me "I'M GETTING IT RIGHT NOW! CAN'T YOU SEE ME!?" Then when I asked her for an extra napkin she, again, shouted "I'M REALLY BUSY! YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT!!!" She was so mean and nasty, she even gave me judging dirty looks every time she walked by my table and every time I asked her for something too! Now, listen, she wasn't some 20-something wet-behind-the-ears girl who hates her job because she's really trying to become and "actress/singer/model", oh no, she was an older woman who seemed to be doing this for a long time. Why would someone act like this, especially knowing I have to tip you at the end of our lovely experience? By the way, I didn't tip her, so basically she and I are BFF's. I won't be back, suck it Michael's Kitchen.

I love a good deal & Michael's is all about good food & really good prices. Example: today at lunch I had a cup of tasty cabbage soup, a decent sized portion of totally decent mac & cheese, a couple pieces of deep fried cod, a bowl of sweet/overly creamy cole slaw, & a piece of caramel walnut apple for $4.95. Yes, $4.95. My total out the door with tax & tip - $6.75. That's a deal. The service is fine. Lunch time is always busy, so the waitresses always seem a bit rushed. Smoking & non-smoking sections are litterally intermingled - a temporary problem now given the smoking ban that goes in effect on 5/1/10. Their menu is extensive with lots of daily specials, which means there is something for everyone even though it might not be prepared perfectly. This isn't gourmet food. However, Michael's has been open since 1977, so they've been doing something right. I haven't had breakfast here, but I saw some omlettes being served and they looked pretty good. Gives me a reason to go back.

They are celebrating 37 years in business. This restaurant has a fantastic outer decor, where it is evident that someone with a green thumb has created a pleasant landscape to catch the eye of passers-by. Judging by the never-empty parking lot, apparently their meals are equally well attended to. Upon entering the outer door, the restrooms are located off to the left. Various notices of menu specials are on the white board off to one side and also posted on the inner entrance door, windows and walls. Theresa was my server last evening. She took my drink order and allowed time to look over the menu. I settled on the steak stir fry and it was an excellent choice on my part. For $7.99, my meal came with complimentary bread basket, soup (4 flavors offered) and salad (bleu cheese 50¢ extra), the entree, and finally, dessert. My soup was excellent, the salad was ample, and by the time my entree arrived, I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it. Half-way through the steak stir fry, I requested a carry-out container to capture the remainder for a future meal. Bonus: I didn't realize my meal also came with dessert, so I felt kind of guilty when I accepted (from a list of four) a slice of warmed apple pie with whipped cream atop. Not guilty enough to turn it away, but just a little guilty. Rest assured, I did a fine job in making sure that plate was clean, to help make the guilt go away. On a side note, the wait staff does an excellent job in busing tables. No military discount, but they offer seniors (62 & up) discount on $8 or more; they also have a Seniors section on the back page of the menu. Other items on the menu are favorably priced, making this a great local-diner type of meal destination.

Personable, friendly service makes food taste better. Excellent value for $$ with good portions. Diner with a touch of pineapple slice that I am loving. Steak N Eggs -- perfectly made. Steak is dependent on steak sauce for flavor. Shareable. Coffee -- bottomless cup with light flavor.

I have been coming here forever, never had a bad meal, if your ever in the area check this place out for dinner the fish & chip's are awsome and they have the best french onion soup!

I used to go here almost every Sunday. You can never go wrong with getting some breakfast on your way home from church, and this is the place to stop! Great service, great food, awesome prices, and always treated like family!

Decided to go to Michaels for dinner. Cannot go wrong with that decision. I ordered an 8oz. steak, baked potato, soup (beef goulash), salad, and dessert all for $7.99. My wife had chicken Parmesan with spaghetti, soup ( Italian Wedding), and dessert for $5.99. Service was great. Food came quickly. It was a very delicious meal and very filling.

Great prices on food. Large portions. Favorites: Fish and Chips, Friday night (homemade) - Clam Chowder, hot turkey sandwich, burgers You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

I am so torn about this place. I've been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I'm never disappointed in the food. Their skillets are amazing, their specials are awesome. Unlike a lot of diner places, their salad that comes with your meals are crisp and doesn't seem like it's soggy and been sitting out all day like I've experienced. They also have a variety of soups every day that are DEFINITELY homemade and awesome. No GFS chicken noodle here! However, the service is usually absolutely terrible. We've had maybe a couple of good experiences here. From one waitress who just pulls out her pen and stares at us expectantly for an order without saying a word, to other waitresses that couldn't bring us refills to save their lives, to waitresses that just seem to loathe being there and therefore cannot smile, or say anything without some kind of attitude in their tone, to waitresses that bring me the wrong drink and dessert in the same meal and can't be bothered to fix it, ignore us for twenty minutes, and I'm finally at my wits end and just leave without eating my apple cobbler and not my bread pudding that I didn't ask for. My boyfriend and I always tip well, 20%+, but whenever we are too lazy to cook and don't want to spend a ton of money coupled with a lot of patience,, we end up coming here because we usually don't have to tip much with the subpar service we get. And this is coming from someone who has worked in the food industry/works for retail so I'm usually super forgiving about little stuff. But rudeness and failing to provide just a basic decent service, not so much.

We had soup for 5, 3 came out, 20 minutes for the other 2 ! Brother ordered a salad with dressing on the side, came out slathered on top. I got a gyro pita, pita was like cardboard, two small pieces of lamb, tomato almost non existent. Our niece ordered a steak medium rare, pretty much well done is what she got - they did make her another to go, since we didn't want to wait any longer. It took 2 hours for us to get through dinner. The waitress was obviously overwhelmed on a Friday without enough help.

My boyfriend and I went on May 10th, Mother's Day, and it was packed. The poor servers were running around non stop, so when our food took 45 minutes we weren't really upset. When our food did come, I found a large chunk of ham in my omelette. I am a vegetarian. I ordered a vegetarian omelette. At that point I no longer trusted anything on my plate and left without finishing, it can already be hard to find vegetarian options at restaurants without having to worry about errant chunks of meat finding their way into your food. Bottom line, it's unacceptable for a restaurant to be careless with ingredients.

I decided to try something new for breakfast. Maybe I caught Michael's on a bad day. Maybe they were offended that I wasn't drinking coffee, which they push kind of aggressively. I don't know, but the one waitress was kind of surly and mine only came over 3 times and never checked back on me. I had to borrow Frank's red hot from the table across the aisle. Most places are pretty quick for breakfast, but almost 15 minutes for an omelette? Holy cow! If the food was good I would give them another chance, but it was only mediocre.
