Recently moved near China Star, would not have even known it existed, if not for the little yellow sign within the large strip mall that caught my eye while driving on Groesbeck and decided to give it a try. Upon approach I was not sure it was even open due to dim lighting, once inside again I noticed dim lighting due to burned out lighting menu signs and older restaurant décor therefore, I was skeptical? Orders 3 meals (take out), went home and shared with my family and we were pleasantly surprised how flavorful and fresh everything tasted. Normally I don't write reviews after one visit, however, after reading all the other reviews that give this place 5 star I can see why. We liked the quality and freshness of the food so much I entered their number into my smart phone. We will definitely be repeat customers and we definitely recommend this place as one of the best Chinese restaurants in Macomb for quality and quantity. The owners of this place would be smart to change burnt out light to brighten the place up a bit. 5 stars for China Star.

Decided to try a new Chinese place after a couple disappointing meals from our usual go-to place. The food is great!! Prices are wonderful! Only downside was the egg rolls. They are more roll than filling. About the size of a piece of string cheese. We got the beef and broccoli, general tso, and schzewan chicken. All delish! I don't like the delivery service they use wok 2 u... Bad experience with other places always takes an hour or more to get the food and it's cold by the time you get it... So only do take out!

I had high hopes...this restaurant is SO close. However, on our first try,the food was not all that I expected. We got schezchuan shrimp. There was abundant shrimp, but it wasn't that good over all, the fried rice consisted only of rice...no vegetables or egg. The egg roll, I'm afraid, was awful.

Always made fast and fresh. Inside is old looking but but the food is awsome! 20-25 min wait tops. Also good lunch menu

China Star is the best Chinese food around. We have tried other places but I prefer their sesame chicken over anyone. They are always pleasant and kind. Orders never take more than 20 mins and the amount is always way more than I can eat. I cannot comment on the fried rice because I always get steamed. The broccoli is always fresh and bright green. 2 thumbs up!!

Absolutely hands down my favorite Chinese place! They are closed on Mondays which is disappointing. I had to order from a different place one Monday when we wanted Chinese and it was awful. Nothing compares to China Star!!!

I love getting China Star every chance I get. I love the sweet sauce they use on the sesame chicken. Great wonton, actually has flavor in its broth. Yummy crab rangoon too!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
