I've been going to this place since I was in high school. Not only is their food awesome, but it's also consistent, and very affordable. This is a family owned and operated restaurant! They're so friendly, and will go out of their way to make their customers happy! Can't believe all of those bad reviews! This place is amazing and definitely worth a shot!

I always get the crab rangoons , at silver bowl they were ok, batter was a little thick not enough filling, ordered pad thai got some thing else, she switched it no problem, food was typical thai nothing special, and the place is kind of stinky. "No place will ever be as good as Rexy's!" Says the kid.

Truth is, I thought this place was good until I went to Penn Thai Cafe right down the road~ they have authentic non Americanized thai food there. They told me the ppl that work here are actually monks that went to Thailand and think that they can cook. This place is pretty deserted but they have cheap soups and okay pad thai. An extra star for all those years we spent together. Go to Penn's down the street!!!!

I am a little confused about the majority of these poor reviews. This is a great Thai fusion restaurant. If you're looking for spot on Thai food, this is not your place. Most of the "Thai" restaurants in SE MI are fusion style, mainly because Americans like it that way. Penn's Thai at 14mile and Crooks is authentic Thai food and the only one I have found that serves papaya salad, which is a staple in Thailand. Silver Bowl has very good flavor to all the dishes I have tried thus far. The portions are almost too large, I always have leftovers. The price is pretty much spot on with all the other Thai style restaurants in the area. I highly recommend giving them a try.

This is my favorite place to grab lunch when I'm in Tory. Their Pad S'ewe is excellent. Great for a quick lunch or carry out dinner on the way home.

Not impressed. From the outside I thought this place was going to be more upscale from some reason but you walk in and it's like an old diner. A very quiet diner and since we were the only people there I felt like I had to whisper while the employees rolled silverware into napkins. The royal fresh rolls were pretty much lettuce. The goy see mee was okay. Small tofu cubes so they didn't have that soft middle part that I like, decent amount of veggies and the spice was right on. My fiancee ordered the chicken and broccoli with peanut sauce. The peanut sauce had okay flavor but the texture was thick and kind of disgusting.

This place is very close to my office so I started going there for carryout since Rexy's closed at 12 Mile and Woodward. The Pad See Yew portion is huge but the sauce is mediocre and the "chicken" is literally flakes of chicken, I have no idea how they got chicken to be the width of ribbon you'd tie around a Christmas present and it's about the size of my fingernail. There's usually about 5 small pieces of broccoli in the container. I'll order from here when I'm in a hurry but I won't be in hurry to order from here.

A wise man once said to me "If a Thai restaurant has the word 'Bangkok' in the name, it probably sucks." Truer words have never been spoken. I'm not going to waste too much time on reviewing this restaurant. It simply doesn't deserve it. So here is a summary: The food is terrible. The service is worse. The restaurant smells bad.

I mean, this place isnt great. its ok. The service is ok. the food is ok.if you are tired after work, and don't really want to put in effort, this is ok. Sy Thai in Birmingham is our go to and so is Birmingham's Bancock Bistro-this is not it. Im ordering tonight just because I don't want to cook or put anything on other than sweat pants.

This is the worst Thai food I've ever had. When I called to put the order in, the girl on the phone was very rushed and short with me. I was pretty sure she didn't get my complete order, so I repeated it again, which only irritated her so much that I was 99% sure my order was going to be screwed up no matter what. And it was. Every curry that I've ever had was red, green or yellow. I'm not sure why this one was brown. And not only was it not what I ordered, but it was also awful. Never again.

Employee lied to me and said my card was denied, so I have her another card to use. She swiped that one in front of me and it was accepted. When I got home, I discovered the employee charged me twice for my meal and when I went in to straighten it out, another employee acted like he couldn't understand me. Unless you enjoy be overcharged, lied to and watching employees take advantage of their nationality by abuse the language barrier I would go someplace else! I am reporting them to the police for double charging!

On NYE, I made the trek to Ferndale because all I wanted was some Pad Prik Khing...string bean in red curry. Unfortunately, Bangkok Cafe was closed because, unlike my sorry ass, they had plans for the new year. So, after a quick drive past Falafel King on Woodward, also closed, I settled on stopping at Bangkok Silver Bowl on 14 in Clawson. I am driving way to far for food but I was determined to indulge in some yummy thai. BSB never disappointed before, having had my usual on a few occasions. I knew it wouldn't compare to Bangkok Cafe, but at this point it didn't really matter. Wanted something spicy...so 14 mile was my destination. The restaurant was empty, per usual, but open. Place my order and away I go. It smelled pretty decent. Open the box, looks okay. But whatever the sauce was...it certainly wasn't curry. It was a clear, runny liquid with spicy pepper bits throughout. Aside from a little kick, it has zero flavor. The chicken pieces looked like someone had chewed them up and spit them out. It was just awful. Awful. So...the next week at work, a co-worker and I are craving thai. Silver Bowl is right around the corner. I ordered from Bangkok Cafe and drove the 20 minutes to Ferndale. I don't care how close...I don't care if there is a foot of snow on the ground and the trip takes 3 hours. This place is off the radar. Menu, meet garbage can.

I would not recommend this place. First off the prices are higher than what is stated online. Second the food was flavorless and seemed stagnant. DO NOT GET pad see eew or tofu fare warning

We've been eating here for a couple years. The food is good, not great, good. It's like our staple Thai place - close by & reliable - it won't knock your socks off but it won't disappoint either. I think a 3-star is appropriate here. There are usually 1 or 2 tables of people dining in when I pick up carry out on the weekdays. I don't think I would want to dine in here - it's too quiet and secluded for my taste. It's clean and has a decent atmosphere - just not my style. Pad Thai is solid and usually what I order. It is very consistent. The staff is very friendly. They seem to do a solid amount of carry-out business (not as busy as Golden Ball down the street, but there are usually other orders waiting to be picked up).

Going strictly by what the stars say, I agree, I've had better. I almost always stick to noodle dishes when ordering Thai, and this is no exception. I went with the pad se ewe with chicken. It was greasy and sweet and not as spicy as I had hoped. On the plus side, they did give me a decent amount of chicken which was nice and tender. Still, that's not enough to get me to go back.

Silver Bowl is one of our favorite local stops. We've been frequenting the spot for several years now (recommend the pad thai or fried rice). The service is fast and friendly. Since the dining room isn't packed, its nice to sit down, relax and catch up. Its one of our local go-to's for dining in or carrying out.
