People pack this place, which just confirms you may be able to fool all of the people all of the time. The food is pedestrian. If this place opened in a NY or Chicago it would be shut down in a month. But they love themselves. Hope they stay happy.

This is the Clarkston venue of the Andiamo's chain (was Mesquite Creek). Again, another solid dependable restaurant from that firm. They have taken a little bit of time to find their stride but, i believe, have done so. The staff is attentive. They have a dining room, outside seating, private room(s) and a full semi separated barroom. I have food allergies and have not had a problem when ordering appropriately. They have a GF pizza capability that I just delete the cheese and have not had a reaction and it was quite good. It is usually quiet, the manager usually stops by to see how things are going and I have never had to hunt down the staff for anything. Though not what I would consider a regular we eat there 2 to 3 times a year...though probably will increase that as they have been gotten much better.

Dinner was on the cold side tonight. Server was friendly. I'll try again another day.

Service was very good and the food was good although we had nothing to compare to as both us ordered dishes that were new to us., I had a fish called turbot and my lovely wife had veal marsala. She really enjoyed her meal and saved some for lunch so she could enjoy her tasty canolli dessert. We usually do not spend big bucks on a dinner so tonight was an exception as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. With so many other Detroit area restaurants that we have yet to try , I doubt we will return,,.

AMAZING ESTABLISHMENT! The atmosphere is fantastic, the pricing is a bit high but the atmosphere is so welcoming- not stuffy! I have been to MANY andiamo's and this place takes the cake! The servers know the menu well, and that is SO refreshing. Makes the whole dining experience effortless. What to order? My recommendation is the Chicken Marsala with a side of pasta with meat sauce. I would ask to have the pasta they serve with it removed and replaced with potatoes (but that's just my preference). Will be back, again, and again, and again :)! Great job, Andiamo's!

So this place has a lackluster tomato sauce which to me is the keystone of any Italian restaurant. The bread was under seasoned and served with watery tomato sauce. The side salads were made with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and cheese, nothing to write home about. I ordered the gnocchi and it was decent but not exceptional and not good enough to be sold at the $$ price point. I ordered dessert and it was pre-made frozen cake. I would come here again at the request of another but not by my own volition.

The food was great. The atmosphere was a little loud not very private. I miss the Rochester location. Service was quick and polite. I never had an empty plate in front of me for more then 10 seconds.

We were there for almost 2 hours last night for a nearly empty restaurant. Our waiter seemed to take his good old time coming back to our table and checking on us. Even when he was there we had to ask for more water each time our glasses were empty. The crab cakes were great, the main course was only so so. The brick chicken was only warm and there wasn't a roasted pepper anywhere on the plate. The lasagna was the size of a deck of cards. The Kit Kat dessert was good. Basically if we ever go back it will be for appetizers and the desserts and hope for faster service. We expect slower service with a busy restaurant but not an empty one. Updated 4/3/15 - I did receive a message from the owner wanting to make it right. I do appreciate that.

Mediocre at best. My family and I used to go to the Andiamo in Rochester before it closed and loved it but this location, sadly, isn't the same.

The food is great but the price and the very relaxed wait service isn't where it should be. Dinner is going on 2 hours and all our glasses are empty and we haven't been served the main course and the Resteraunt is starting to win down.

Great service, great ambiance, very clean and new and gorgeous inside. Pricey but delish. Had salmon salad, grilled perfectly. Margarita pizza with house sauce for dipping was a huge hit. Desserts looked amazing but we were too full.

The Andiamo in Clarkston is okay (definitely better than the previous Mesquite Creek). The wine selection was so-so and quite short for whites. The food was mediocre and VERY salty. I normally salt my food and enjoy salty items, but the food here was incredibly salty, even for my taste. The two different entrees we ordered, both chicken based, were decent at best. The dessert was the best course of the meal. We shared a chocolate tuxedo cake that was delicious. The odd thing about it, though, was that it was served with cool whip and not real whipped cream. I don't care for cool whip and its unmistakably sweet artificial flavor, and given the nice presentation and fanciness of the dessert I thought that using cool whip was very odd. There are many other great restaurants in the area that I would choose over this Andiamo. If I do return it will likely be for salad or dessert, but not a main entree.

So not worth the money!!! Very loud at this restaurant. We were on our way to dte music theater, saw this place and stopped before our show. The canopy out front says calzone on it. I didn't see it on the menu, the waitress said of course you can order a calzone. Then came back and said no we don't offer that any more. So my husband and I shared the lasagna. It took so long for the waitress to bring us an extra plate that the lasagna was cold. It was ok tasting, however it was hard to judge because it was cold. The bread was strange, hard and small. The butter on the table was almost frozen, you could not spread it on the awful bread. This was a terrible and expensive experience.

The staff is very enthusiastic and even mentioned getting online training for wine classes. They should have stuck with the old menu. Increased prices do not always equal better taste. We ordered the peppers and sausage for appetizers. I can handle some great hot stuff like jalapenos, but the peppers were so hot they burned my mouth! That hot takes away from the flavor and enjoyment. The wine is way to expensive for what they offer. I can get that stuff at Sam's for $10 when you offer it for $50. I get mark-up, but it's just silly to go so high on mediocre wine. We ordered two dishes to share - the fried chicken and veal piccata. I would rather go to a "real" Italian place for the veal - so-so flavoring. The chicken was awesome, but who goes to an italian place for fried chicken? I think they need to go back to what they know - do Italian and do it well, forget the new fancy stuff. The wait staff are very good, as always, hence the three stars.

My husband and I frequent this restaurant more for the service than anything else. Kristin is our favorite server-not sure what we would do without her. The menu has enough variety to keep us interested. With few decent establishments in the Clarkston area that don't require a 1 hour+ wait (no reservations) the place is a find.

We loved their food! There's a happy hour, 4-6pm, though limited. We got a very nice bottle of wine, half off (not worth full price, not that special!) service was good.

I have always liked eating in the bar area with a one man band playing. Saturday I had a perfectly cooked filet and one of the best deserts ever. Good service too.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
