Really great place if you want to grab some good food for a great price. The atmosphere is casual and right across from the lake. The tomato soup is the best I have ever tried. My husband and I love it and always order it. My husband tried the Reuben and said it was better than the one he had in chicago. I tried the submarine hoagie and it was so good! Just the other day we both split the pastrami and that was also the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. That's all we've tried so far but we love the tomato soup and their sandwiches!!

Soup, outstanding. Drinks, pricey. Skip the alcohol and order Tomato Soup, you won't be sorry.

Beach Bar Tomato Soup is an absolute must! I can't stop thinking about this perfectly cheesy, crouton covered soup.

My boyfriend and I tried this restaurant out this past weekend and it was pretty good. I had a chicken salad and he had a turkey sandwich on a croissant. Both were great, my salad was huge and my boyfriend's sandwich was packed with turkey. Service was friendly and we were sitting on the patio. The Bloody Marys are just OK though and I wouldn't order it again.

The good - food tasted great, for what we had. Questionable - Both my wife and I got a bowl of the tomato soup, but she asked for hers in a to go container. It was roughly 1/2 the size of mine for the same price. Bad - They forgot to bring out my daughter's Mac n cheese with the rest of the food so it came out by the time we were nearly done eating. They also kept filling up my boys chocolate milk but didn't say it wasn't a free refill. Everyone raves about this place, but it isn't *that* good. I guess I've travelled around enough to not fully appreciate Jackson restaurants.

THE BEST PLACE IN THE AREA. Great food, great staff, friendly place to hang out. Live music outside on Wednesdays and Sundays are always fun. And it's great for all ages.

The Beach Bar has outstanding Hawaiian Pizza, Rubin Sandwiches, and Salads. If you are looking for this type of food than you will not be disappointed. Great place for Families and Kids

The beer was served too warm and flat which was quite disappointing. The kegs may have been changed recently so that may be a fluke. Additionally the buffalo chicken wrap was more akin to Teriyaki, which I find a bit baffling considering I was told they used Frank's hot sauce by the waitress. There was no spice or burn to it, just mostly salt. So in the end I didn't bother finishing the meal. Overall I think the Beach Bar has a pretty overblown reputation, and I doubt I'll be going back again.

The good: The band today. The food also. The bad: The arcade. Some of the games were broken, some I didn't even know what they were or how to play them. The wired: So if you go to the patio, you can get a drink from one of the waiters (you have to ask in advance if you are using a credit card, other wise you will have to use cash), but if you want food, you can get it from the cart in the back (small menu, cash only) or go inside for the full menu but for Take-Out only. (Cash & credit) The understandable: it was crowded today :)

I grew up at nearby Lake Columbia and the Beach Bar is the best restaurant in the area. It's been around since the 1940's and has expanded numerous times. It's packed in the summer, especially on the weekends, but it's still busy in the winter. It's open 7 days a week in the summer and closed on Monday and Tuesday in the winter. The Beach Bar is located just across the street from the lake. The food here consists mostly of soup, sandwiches, salads and pizza. The place doesn't have a deep fryer or frozen food so don't expect a lot of deep fried bar food. Many people recommend the pizza which is different. I usually stick to the rest of the menu. By far, this place has the best soup I've ever had. Every day the Beach Bar serves Clam Chowder soup and Tomato soup. Friday's they serve their famous Oyster Bisque. Normally there are two to three additional soups. The soup is phenomenal. I always get the Tomato soup which is the best soup I've ever had. If you want a unique restaurant with good food, and a good atmosphere, run, don't walk to the Beach Bar.

Great soups, salads, and sandwiches. Sit near the fireplace in winter and have drinks on the patio in summer.

There's a tree inside! Actually, it's a tree trunk. The original tree died a long time ago when lightning hit it. This place has been here since the 20's and I see why. How charming! We were only here for a drink but the atmosphere was alluring. We will be back to sample food, as the Laila drink was delectable. We're huge fans of local lakefront pubs, so...More later!

This is a summer place, when the air is warm and the patio is inviting. Yet, warming soups are their best menu items, as well as great pizza. Drinks are inexpensive, though the wine list is lacking. Service is usually by appealing, college-age types who have more enthusiasm than polish. Is there any place with a name like Beach Bar that doesn't have hamburgers and fried foods? This one doesn't, except for burgers on Sundays and Wednesdays in the summer. Carry-outs are 10% higher cost.

As most people will tell you, the tomato soup is a must! I have never liked tomato based anything, however I love their soup! They also make some pretty good pizza as well. The staff is great and super friendly and I've never left dissatisfied. Location right across from Clark Lake makes it beautiful to eat outside in the warmer weather. Only complaint I could ever think of is sometimes it's a little over crowded depending on the day, which must mean they're doing something right.

I cannot recommend this restaurant in good faith, we waited over a hour for a sandwich order, our waitress was completely absent for most of our dining, I had to go get my own water from the bar, and they were not polite about it, our sandwich's were well below what we paid for them....60.00 for two sandwiches and a drink order.. come on...

Always the slowest service, it took 45 minutes to get a sandwich, cheesy bread and salad, and even longer for my sons Mac and cheese. I have gone here for over 20 years and have to say the food is good, but the service and waitstaff could use some improvement.

Been a fan for years, great soups, sandwiches, pizza. Etc. Continues to raise prices however, which is turning me off. Beer prices are outrageous. Greed could take them down some day...Too bad. John D

I was surprised at the hugely varying number of stars given this restaurant. We were there for lunch this month as a family group of nine, including three children. We were seated right away and served relatively quickly for a busy summer day. I grew up in nearby Brooklyn and it was great to be back in the neighborhood. The restaurant, established in the '40s, has been greatly enlarged and updated. Fun to see the old photos from the early days, and nice to know the place is still in the Collins family. My favorite item hands-down was the rich tomato soup, cheesy and filling. Good thing the fat and calorie content were not listed on the menu. Good sandwiches, fun atmosphere, video games for kids while waiting for food. And yes, I will certainly come here again when in the area.

Large home made soup selection and they are all very good. I've tried the pizza several times and I'm not a fan. Doughy and the sauce is unimpressive. The price / value equation here is not good. Pizza, sandwiches and soup on the menu; 2 domestic draft beers soup and a sandwich each and the bill for a couple with an 18% tip is easily $60. Tourist trap in my opinion. The bar is across the street from the Lake so you are not paying for the view.

If you are trying to find somewhere to eat and you are in the area, just give up and go here. This is basically the best/only decent place to eat within 20 miles or so. Don't bother trying to drive into Jackson to eat, either, because I promise you there is nothing good to eat there. Just go to the Beach Bar. The restaurant is on the lake and it feels very beach-y. I think they brew some of their own beer. Salads come with a cheap croissant but a cheap croissant is still a croissant.

One of the best places to eat around , don't pass up this place. I recommend the "skinny dip" and beach bread.
