We used to live in Chesterfield and there are pretty much zero good restaurants in the area except for Louis'. We love it here. Sit at the bar, order steak bites, a wedge salad and a glass of Syrah. Boom- fabulous date night. I also had my baby shower here and it was fabulous.

Fantastic food, service was ok, must of been a new waitress, but the food was top notch. Only reason for 4 stars was the hollandaise sauce, it was a mix, but when I talked to manager , he made me fresh real sauce! Great attitude!

Very good steak!! All around fabulous place!! The money is worth it. The waitress was very pleasant as well. Kinda reminds me of Ruth Chris steak house. Very very good!

Went to Louis for the first time last night and my wife and I enjoyed it. I got the Cadillac and she got the 7oz filet and both were cooked perfectly. The Cadillac is served on a skillet, which I wasn't the biggest fan of, but the meat was excellent. It came with a sauce that I didn't care for. It was a sweet tomato sauce which I'm not a fan of. I got some fresh horseradish and was happy. The atmosphere was nice and our server was timely. In my personal opinion, I like The Brewery and Mr Pauls, better, but Louis is a great steakhouse.

Prompt, friendly service. I have never had to wait for a table during prime dining hours on the weekend. I have tried lots of different foods on the menu and have liked them all. The prime rib and fish and chips are two of my favorites on the menu.

Sucks. Dont waste your money going there. They try tobe something there not. The place is nice inside for the area. The food is not even close to being good. They use very cheep cuts of steak and charge expensive prices. I dont mind paying for a good steak but this place really is bad. Ive been here about 5 times in 5 years trying to give it a chance because it is the nicest place in this area but each and every time was very disapointing.

Steaks were terrible and expensive. Service was OK, and the atmosphere is nice but they need some work in the kitchen. Don't waste your time or money!

Okay, My review is waaayy late due to the fact that I had only discovered the wonder that is Yelp.com about a month ago, but here goes nothin. I've been here twice..First time was fantastical. My boyfriend and I stopped in to celebrate his last meal before he was to donate his kidney to a co-worker of ours (a tad on the morbid side yes, but a reason to go out an spend our hard earned money on artery clogging red meat non-the-less.) Our waiter, an older gentleman..the type that you KNOW has been here for years and is just waiting for retirement; greeted us with waters and took our drink orders. a couple moments later he arrived with said drinks and asked if we were interested in apps. We opted for the Caesar table side. 15 minutes later the fixings were carted up to us, and prepared over some meaningless banter. The salad was so-so, I can make better dressing out of a can of mayonnaise. Anyhoo! We finished our salads and the wait began! It got to the point where I wondered out loud if he had forgotten about us..seeing as how we were one of three tables in the place I just chalked it up to the fact that the poor man was probably battling Alzheimer's. When he finally made his way back to our table he almost seemed surprised that we wanted to order entrees. My boyfriend and I ordered the same thing. 20 oz. cowboy cut (mid-rare) and creamed spinach. The food was amazing, best creamed spinach I've ever shoved down my gullet..steaks were cooked perfectly and topped with some darn good herbed butter. finished out the night with some mediocre espresso and an even more so-so creme brule. Bill came out to a wopping $135, but I had a whole meals worth of food to bring home with me so I was able to justiify the steep price..kind of. Second time around was an absolute disaster. The WHOLE smoking section was taken up by some sort of cigar party, so we were not able to enter the bar area AT ALL. Instead we were seated about 10 feet away from the bar where we were taken over by the smell of cigar smoke the WHOLE night. I mean..the smoke permiated the entire restaurant but I had to go outside when i wanted a cigarette. I call shenanigans! My boyfriend and I were again greeted with the same ancient waiter, who to my supprise actually REMEMBERD us! This time we skipped out on the salad and went straight for the cowboy cut and spinach..Well at least I did. My boyfriend decided to go for mashed potatoes as his side this time. Now before I go any further, let me preface this with how excited I was for this spinach..I had drempt about this spinach, I could taste it on the ride there..I was Craving this gods gift to earth that was creamed spinach. Our meals arrive and I dug in..First bite of my beloved creamed spinach..What is this? this is not what I had been so anxiously awating!..this is garbage! It tasted as is if I had just put a spoon full of spinach floating in nutmeg water into my mouth. My dreams were crushed. Maybe the mashed potatoes were better..nope, BOXED. Oh well..onto the saving grace..my steak. (ordered mid-rare.) I cut into that sucker and It. Was. Rare..I'm talking still mooing, blue rare. "How is yours cooked darling?' I ask my dining companion. that bad boy was well done..Dead well done. Now I understand that bone-in rib-eyes are one fo the hardest cuts of meat to get right, seeing as how getting the meat closest to the bone to come out the same temp as the rest of the steak is almost impossible. But give me a break. Of course..the kitched was most likely focused on the ever so important "cigar party" that was going on, but couldnt the grill bitch pull his attention away for 15 min. to put out a couple nice meals? We were the only other table in the place for crying out loud. We called our geriatric waiter over and pointed out that it seemed as though our meal was cooked by a mute. The man was honorable enough to blame himself for the slip up, stating that he must have put the order into the computer wrong. We all know he didn't so he recieved full tippage for the gesture. We ended up boxing up the steaks and heading home after that whole fiasco. Well done went to the dogs and the raw one got thrown into a pan and cooked up the RIGHT way for later consumption.. Not saying I won't be back..But I will make sure there aren't anymore "parties" going on the next time I decide to make the journey.

Recently returned to Louis and was very pleased. With food and service, strip steak was perfectly cooked. Sent the asparagus back, overcooked, promptly replaced with creamed spinach which was excellent. Very attentive service. Must have hit an off night on my prior visit, they are back on my good list and will return.

This place has exceptional service, especially the bar!! The bartenders Mike, Tora and Lindsay all give great service and make AMAZING DRINKS! They have many drink specials most made from scratch. Infused vodkas and whiskeys for the seasons and simple syrups! The bar snacks are an amazing raw sugar baked applewood smoked bacon, sinfully delicious!! Most frown at sitting at the bar of such a caliber fine dining experience, but I enjoy it much more! You get everything you need with great attentiveness, always a full glass and great personalities! You can't go wrong sitting at their small yet eclectic bar setting. Any bartender you get, is 5 stars service!!
We went there for my birthday dinner, as it is always a great treat! I had the Filet Mignon, (cooked perfectly) Augraten potatoes (deliciously creamy and cheesy) and asparagus (over cooked and slimy) Our server was an older gentleman, very experienced and knew the menu. When he set our steaks in front of us he asked us to please cut into them to make sure they were cooked properly. (first time that ever happened to me ). He made the whole experience very special. The only thing I didnt like was the asparagus, and I'm sure that would have been taken care of, had i asked. We will definitely be back!

Make sure you confirm your reservations. Our family has dined here several times and it has been good, but they have now lost our reservations on 3 different occasions and we were disappointed with the seating. I don't know what system they use but it is faulty. Make sure that you call to confirm unless you want to be disappointed

All I can say is I'm seriously impressed...we went here on a suggestion from Siri because our power went out, so I had no idea what to expect. I have a large family and they took it in stride accommodating us with a nice round table. The decor is nice, but not over the top fancy, so we didn't feel out of place in our sweats, jeans and t-shirts (our power outage made us forget about dress). Kevin our server was awesome...very polite and professional...you could tell the staff enjoyed what they were doing and got along well...major kudos for Kevin listening and having patience with my children...he paid attention to all the little details to help us feel comfortable. They start you out with bread which was very good, but the crust was a bit crisp and hard which gave some of my kids who hate crust a difficult time, but still it was very good bread. I was impressed with the salad which came with many different fresh lettuce...then came the main course! We got a mix of fish and chips and and different steaks...I got the Detroiter which was a very tender cut of angus beef in their "zip sauce." All I can say is the meat was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and a pleasure to eat! I got the baked potato with my meal and that was good too...the skin was salted but not too much. The presentation was so so...the Detroiter was basically meat on a plate, in juice with 2 onion rings on the top...no biggie because you're just going to eat it any way! The fish and chips were great...large generous portions heaped with fish and thick steak fries...the batter on the fish was crisp, delicious and not too greasy and the fish was flaky and very tasty! Overall, I was extremely impressed and will happily return and recommend this restaurant again!

We have been to Louis' Chop House on several occasions. Louis has the feel of an old school steak/chop house. The servers are generally very attentive and the food is good. I always order the "off the menu" surf and turf: which consists of a small lobster tail and petite filet mignon for roughly $28 (I believe both the tail and filet are 4 oz). The portion is too small for my husband, but it's perfect for me. As a side dish, their au gratin potatoes are heaven on a plate. Although the portion is enough for two people, I always act like I'm ordering enough to bring home, knowing full well that I'll probably eat the entire casserole dish myself. The wine selection is nice and there are wines priced from in the $20s on up. You don't have to break the bank to enjoy a very nice bottle. I've tried a few of their desserts and have enjoyed them, but let's face it, after my bowl of au gratin potatoes, I don't have much room for dessert! On the weekend, there is a piano player in the lounge. As with any restaurant, on occasion we have had to send something back, but the waitstaff is always quick to correct the mistake and make sure you are satisfied. We've only had good experiences at Louis'.

If you live in the Chesterfield area this is a must visit place. The food, service and overall ambiance won't disappoint! Top 5 things I love about Louis' 1) Amazing wine selectiong 2) prime rib/steaks are amazing, always perfectly cooked and aged well with great flavor 3) Tiramisu is to die for, sometimes i'll stop by just for a carry out 4) Brunch Spread 5) Great service

Was at this establishment for dinner on Father's Day. Took forever for someone to wait on us. Also noted that we were not the only ones waiting for service. The veal I had was tough and they forgot part of my husband's order. Talked to the manager and she seemed more put out that I was pointing out these issues than making a sincere apology. Will not ever be partronizing this establishment again. It's sad that you pay for a $70.00 meal and get this kind of treatment.

Walked in for lunch and waited 10 minutes in the lobby while severs went back and forth to the kitchen. Never acknowledged so we left. You lost 2 customers. I would give it any stars since we didn't even get seated. Sad!

We've gone for Sunday brunch 3 times. Generally, the food is ok. The guys making omelets and waffles are first-rate, both in their food preparation and their customer interaction! Sadly, the rest of the service has been less than impressive. For this price range, I expect more - from the food and especially from the service.

Have been here in the past with my wife and it used to be much better. Took my wife here again for our anniversary and was very disappointed. The food was generally tasteless given the price. The desserts were fantastic,... But that's because they don't make them. Anything from Christine's bakery is always good! Wait staff was okay, but somewhat Inattentive. They miss on the little things. E.g. Filling water, removing dishes, and making sure the candle keeping the butter warm for your lobster is actually there. ;) This place used to be good several years back,... But whatever changed,... I won't be returning. It's a shame.

This is my favorite restaurant in Michigan. Yes, Ruth's Chris, Flemings and the like use a higher quality beef. However, Louis has better flavor, better sides, and all around better food.

We came out here for a HungryDudes shoot. Holy moly is this place delicious. They smoked salmon on top of cedar wood so it had that smokey flavor. The steak was large and delicious. They made the caesar salad sauce from scratch right next to our table. The wine was delicious as well. The waiter knew about each wine which added to the good vibes. We had a nice chat with the owner. Really nice guy. He treated us like old friends and told us some fantastic stories about his life and how the restaurant was started. If you're dining outside, it's loud because of the cars. The evening we went was pretty empty so that could be good or bad depending on your mood. I've uploaded some photos of the food so you should check those out.

What a pleasant surprise! My wife and I haven't had a lot of luck finding a semi-upscale restaurant in our area with great food, service, reasonable pricing, and ambiance, until we finally tried Louis'. It was refreshing to find well-trained servers, who know how to do it right! Marco did a nice job, and had the nine steps of service down pretty well. The perch dinner was a generous, and delicious dish, and my wife rated the prime rib a six or seven - and she's pretty picky when it comes to her prime rib!. If I had to knock them for anything, it would be their sauces were a bit bland, and needed some attention to the consistency. Bathrooms were small, but nice and clean. We'll definitely be back.

This is my traditional birthday dinner location. Oh Louis', I think I'll miss you most of all. The au gratin potatoes are to die for and the prime rib (medium rare) was always perfect. I had my first legal drink here, a cosmopolitan, and it was pretty strong. The service is always great and it is such a classy place, especially for Chestertucky.

Mom and I were returning home from a night of gambling in Sarnia, Canada when we decided to get off the 94, take Gratiot home and see about trying a new restaurant for dinner. We saw Louis Chop House and thought it looked like a nice place to try. The atmosphere was very nice with high ceilings, fireplace, generous booths, linen and nice silverware. The menu selection was pretty good with prices on par with this type of venue. We were both very hungry. Mom ordered Lake Perch and she could only eat one little perch, it was that bad. The batter on her perch was white, thick and her fish was cold and slimy. She was worried that the fish was old and could make her sick. My mom does not complain at all so she decided to just cut her losses at around $35.00 (perch, drink, tip) and go home hungry. Below is a more detailed version of what I 'ate' -- maybe the 'chops' are good here but the fish and veal is stomach turning. I'm not kidding, my stomach is seriously sore as I write this; I came right home to write about this experience because it was that bad. When my plate arrived I was very excited as it looked good, there was a lot of food on a very large platter but I could see a great deal of steam arising at the top...I was hoping the steam was there because it came straight from the over and not the microwave...it was more than likely the latter. I was so very hungry and dug right in. The 5 or so generous portions of veal were slathered in sauces so I really don't know what kind of veal it was but my first bite was OK. I mostly tasted, tomato - hot tomato - but also, there was a distinct ketchup taste. My 2nd bite was worse as my food had a strange after taste. After about 4 bites of the veal I realized that the strange after taste was that of old lard! I never once tasted the veal...no meat taste at all. All I could taste was ketchup and old lard. My hunch is the veal was frozen and then put it in the microwave to 'cook' and the lard from the batter had sunk into the meat...God, I'm only guessing but what I do know is that my stomach started to hurt from eating this 'stuff'. I decided to at least eat my spaghetti because I was still very hungry. The spaghetti was water logged and the darn ketchup tasting sauce ruined it. I paid $15.00 for garbage. I paid $9.00 for a glass of good wine but couldn't finish it because I prefer to have my good wine with good food. That darn after taste ruined my desire to enjoy my wine. Screw it; this was basically a $30.00 loss that I'll never repeat.

Tom, you can wear shorts. We had just left the golf course wearing shorts and hats and wondering if we could wear them to Louis' , we wanted a good beef dinner and a burger or Texas Roadhouse were not going to cut it. Ordered the Woodward Prime Rib med-rare. Cooked to perfection, but wait let me tell you about the salad dressing, yes salad dressing. Thousand Island, I know I know but this housemade dressing is so good i want to put it on my cereal in thge morning, I mean it's Thousand Island but they could bottle this stuff, and yes you can buy some to take home Yeaaa. I did. only $4 for 10oz. Back to the Prime, fork tender, juicy and the crust was addicting. Also had the Augratin potatos, well those are worth the trip alone. Mr.Pauls has a contender and Louis' is open on Sundays

I have been here several times and am usually quite happy, although food and service has been inconsistent at times over the past few years. It is kind of the go-to celebration restaurant for birthdays and such, since many of our relatives live on that side of town. We usually go for brunch or dinner (although the lunch menu looks delicious and I would like to give it a try). Sunday brunch is huge all-you-can-eat buffet with made to order omelets and waffles. The dinner menu has a very nice selection of meat, seafood, chicken and pasta dishes. Entrees all come with soup or salad and choice of a side, which makes for a very good value for the quality and portion size they serve. Last night, we started with saganaki (yum), and I had the grilled salmon, simple and perfectly cooked. My boyfriend had a fillet with an enormous portabella mushroom cap. Others at the table had fish and chips and perch. Everyone enjoyed their meals and left with doggie bags. My only complaint was that my minestrone, although tasty, could have been hotter. Although it is a nicer restaurant, it is still pretty casual and I am perfectly comfortable going there in jeans.

Louis' Chop House is the place to go for an expensive night out when you want to celebrate something special (anniversary, birthday, ect.). Being a finer diner experience, dressing up is a must - no shorts or jeans! Typical expensive meal (salad followed by steak and potato) cost around 20-25 bucks per person. Add in alcohol, dessert, and tip and the bill for 2 will easily tip the $100 price range. I personally do not like the group room, I want to sit in the main dining area. The main dining area is a lot more comfortable and the atmosphere is right on. The staff has always been exceptionally polite, leading to a nice evening. Anyone that use to go to Mountain Jacks Steakhouse would fine Louis as a suitable replacement.

What a shame. My wife and family have been here 4 others times...it was perfect. Today at 4:45 pm my wife and I stopped in. The first question we asked was, "Are you serving Prime Rib at this time"? Our server said, "yes". So we both ordered the house cut medium rare like always. We ate our salad while we waited. The dishes arrived and immediately I said, "Uh oh". They were medium well (actually closer to well done). We informed our server and she took them of to the kitchen. She then returned and said that is all they have for medium rare. I requested a manager. We waited 15 minutes and it became obvious we were being ignored and a manager did not wish to speak with us. Our server returned and said I have to charge you $4.00 for the salad. My wife and I said," Ok. Here is your $4.00 and also a $2.00 tip". A quick have a nice day and we then left. By the way we had no issue with our server. She was fine and did not have an attitude. It was not her fault things were prepared wrong and I think she felt bad this happened. My wife and I will not be going here anymore. Sure 4 times were fine but if 1 in 5 is bad then that is still unacceptable sine we are paying over $60 for two cuts (inclusive price). Mr. Pauls will be our weekly Prime Rib choice going forward. We are reasonable people and very easy to get a along with. Forgiving is not an issue but when you request a manager and he/she treats you like you are invisible...well...then it is time to move on. Our friends and family will not go there either. Why? They go where we go and if we go Mr. pauls...that is where they will be:) Good luck all with this place. Be careful ordering. They will not tell you in advance if they can fulfill you order. They will try to pass off what they can and still charge you premium!!!
Today, plans to meet up with out-of-town friends visiting north of my location fell through, so I decided to find a nice restaurant worthy of my attire. A 'chop house' came to mind, with two being close to my hometown. One was closed on Sundays, so I tried the other. Louis Chop House. Upon entering on the north side of the building, a minor wait ensued as the hostess selected a suitable table/booth near the windows. I noticed there was a decent sized crowd already dining, seated at tables for two, four, and combined tables seating perhaps 8 or more. Our server was Lea, and she did a fantastic job taking away used plates and providing drink refills. I also noticed the other servers and wait staff generally conducted themselves professionally. There was a little confusion, as it was assumed we had been there before (we had not). After the initial oops, I was told the brunch buffet was $16.95 per person, drink included. That sounded acceptable, so self-serve brunch it was! Water was brought out to the table immediately, followed shortly thereafter by my drink selection of an Arnold Palmer. With no clear path to wherever the food was, my server Lea directed me along a likely path. I remember thinking to myself that it was a little tight navigating between the tables of seated guests and working my way to the back room where the food buffet resided. Even more so, I was apprehensive about carrying a plate of food back through the same area, never wanting to accidentally spill on someone as I walked by. The food selection was good. The usual fare of scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, home fries, mashed potatoes, steamed vegetable medley, French toast, waffles while you wait, pancakes rounded out the 'breakfast' portion of the offerings. As I worked my way through the line-up, apparently there were omelets made to order behind me (I did not avail myself of the opportunity). After I filled my 1st plate, I worked my way back to the table, past the aforementioned groups of seated diners. As I began eating my food, I was somewhat disappointed in that nothing on my plate was warmer than room temperature, yet, I had selected the items from those rotating hooded-covered warmer trays that are often seen at buffets these days. Even the prime rib, which was under a warming lamp, was cold. I noted when I bit into a sausage link that the inside was colder than the outside, kind of backwards from what I expected. My next plate of food was more of a lunch selection, consisting of meatloaf, cut-up chicken, mostaccioli, and what I assume was smoked salmon. All were flavorful, and this time, they were warm. Not hot, just warm. I voiced my opinion to my dining partner and we both agreed - the food temperature was less than desirable. I never saw a menu, so I can't recite the vast selections of prepared meals which are normally available. I suppose I can give this restaurant another try for a regular meal. I will probably avoid the brunch buffets in the future. P.S. As we were guided to our table initially, I couldn't help but notice a table that had been cleared of the previous diner's tableware, but had not been wiped down and prepared for the next patrons. Later, as I dined, I noticed a young family had created a considerable mess (the toddler position) and the wait staff had no option but to wait until the family departed. Upon completing the table clean-up, the floor was still somewhat untidy, and remained so during the time I was there. It was a distraction for my entire visit. I understand the need for young families to get out and dine together, but they also need to instill manners in the young ones and use discretion in placing items within reach of toddlers.

Our server was exceptionally good. They have a nice selection of wines, and the server did a great job of presenting, uncorking, and serving the wine to us. The side salad with my dinner was very good, as was the raspberry vinaigrette. The clam chowder that my boyfriend got was excellent as well. However, the compliments end there. I ordered the walleye special, which was supposed to have pecans on it, and there were none. The asparagus I got with my meal was brutally overcooked, soggy, and flavorless. The walleye was just ok, which is not ok, since it was over $25. Another member of our party ordered the Wagyu steak special. Seeing as this entree costs over $50, you would expect to get the cut of meat you pay for. However, the waitress initially brought him out a different cut of meat, which was not cooked as requested either. Once he brought this to her attention, he was brought the correct cut of meat, cooked properly. However, the manager (or whoever the woman was), tried to explain away the issue, saying the original cut was the correct one, when in fact the second (correct) steak which was brought to him, was a completely different cut of meat. I would never again spend money here, the food is underwhelming, especially for the price. The only redeeming quality is the service we received from our waitress.

I went to this place yesterday with my sister and brother-in-law. for my birthday. I was surprised how nice look inside. we had a really good waitress named Lindsey. she's been working there a little over 6 years. so she was a very good waitress. I ordered a 9 ounce filet, medium rare. came to the table well done. well let me tell you that, they brought out a new steak for me, within 3 minutes to me. very impressive but I think they just grabbed the wrong steak. needless to say it was perfectly cooked. the steaks were just awesome. really love the scalloped potatoes. then for dessert we had Bananas Foster. our waitress was a whiz at it. and of course that was fantastic. I can't wait to go back there again it was a very good place.

Had another great tableside Caesar made by Andy. It was a tough call whether to have his Caesar or Jessie's Caesar. They both make an outstanding Caesar. Only question is: Where's Hunter? Did I mention we had the Caesar? LOL!
$288 for six people including tip. Thought I'd throw that out there for anyone interested in coming here. Most of us got dessert too though, so that bumps up the price. I could go on and on, but I'll just say Louis' is a pretty good "fancy" restaurant, though it seems a little confused with its identity. To me, it looks like a fancy restaurant for the elderly as it seems a bit dated. Compared to the last time I was here though, they seem to have updated a little bit, so that helps. The service is excellent, and the food is pretty good, but what really irks me is that they removed their "inclusive" option: you used to be able to have soup du jour or salad and a side with your entree for $6 extra, but now that it's gone, you'll have to get what you want a la carte, and that pretty much doubles the price to $12 instead. It's annoying to say the least that you, for instance, don't even get one side with your steak. Unheard of, really... I also find it unacceptable that the website claims you can still get inclusive for $6. How about a website update, please?* *Thanks, George, for the clarification. Appreciated. I thought my Cadillac steak was tasty but it didn't blow me away or anything... it was cooked properly and I liked the sauce that's served with it, but it didn't "feel" like a $30ish steak to me. The way it's presented (sauce poured on at the table giving off a loud sizzle) is nice, if a bit gimmicky. The most awkward thing about it is that it's served in this skillet dealie with a handle, which makes it difficult to cut the steak without clearing the table with the long handle. Anyway, the potatoes au gratin seem to get praised a hell of a lot on Yelp, and I just thought they were alright, mostly because the potatoes were just sliced too thick. The cheese sauce that covers them is great though, and the portion makes it worth it for $5. The lobster bisque soup was popular around the table, but it lacked a "zip." I don't know exactly what that means. It wasn't bland or anything, but it seemed... safe, or something. The best part about it was that it wasn't sickly thick, and it wasn't overly salty like I've had it at some places. The desserts were well received, but I opted to just get one of the many port wine options. The one I got was one of the least expensive ones (most being $21 for a glass) at $6 and I thought it was incredible. I don't like wine generally, but I really dig port now. All-in-all, a pretty nice place, and a solid enough option for when you feel like putting your pinky out. This might be harsh, but I'm not sure Louis' would really thrive in a much bigger city... the service was awesome and the food was a bit above average, but I expected everything to be impeccable, and it just wasn't. Fortunately for the business, they *aren't* in a big city, and so don't need to worry about a stupid hypothetical like that. George (the owner) seems like a genuinely nice guy and his staff seems very "on top" of things though, and those two reasons are why I'd very gladly return. Oh, and the food's not too shabby either.
Excellent service, superb dining. This establishment also hosts larger gatherings. It is priced for the quality it serves, and in my opinion, it is well worth it. I hosted a birthday dinner at this restaurant, and they were fabulous to work with.

Great food, ambiance, and staff. One of my favorites! Also, you just can't beat the wine selection! You must try: Au Gratin potatoes ANY steak (The wet aged Rib-eye is my personal favorite) Grilled Portabella mushroom and Boursin cheese Chicken/veal picante ANY of their seasonal cocktails. ... There really isn't anything I don't like here! Enjoy!

My family and I came here on Mothers Day with a 7pm reservation, the last reservation available in the bar section. Andrew, our waiter, immediately came over and gave us some bread and water while we looked over the menu. The menu was pretty cut to the point, several appetizers, seafood, steaks and pastas. I can't eat seafood, red meat and pastas because i'm allergic and have a gluten issue. My Mom mentioned this to Andrew and she asked if they had an salads (none were on the menu) He said he would have no problem making a chicken caesar salad- his suggestion! My Mom and Aunt's side salads came just a few short minutes later filled with fresh greens, tomatoes and onions. Dressing on the side. I love restaurants that keep it on the side. I certainly don't LOVE dressing. My Aunt ordered the Detroiter- which is steak cooked to the way you would like it (well) served with onion rings, zip sauce and one side, baked potato. I was a little skeptical of the onion rings at first since they looked a little light. Oh em gee! They were hand breaded and tasted like just a plain doughnut from the cider mill, with fresh onion in the middle. Is that weird? So good! My salad was phenomenal and humungeous! The chicken was grilled perfectly and wasn't burned anywhere. The caesar dressing wasn't overpowering in taste. It was perfect. Could easily feed two people. Andrew suggested the Tiramisu for dessert. Okay, I was full and i don't usually like Tiramisu. The dessert was amazing. Wasn't too much expresso taste. Wasn't hard or crunchy and the alcohol taste didn't make me feel buzzed right when I was eating it. Not to mention the mascarpone cheese...so good! The prices are on the higher end but you get what you pay for. My family was seated and had our tummies full in 45 minutes. Portions are good size, service was amazing and the busser kept making sure our table was clear and that we had refills and bread. I definitely recommend Louis Chop House, especially for a special occasion.

Over the holidays, my mom threw me a baby shower at Louis' and it was absolutely perfect. They have a wonderful back room for private events and work closely with you to help make your event special. The room is nicely decorated with a large fireplace and windows all around. We had 30 women at the shower but the room could easily have fit close to 50 with no problem. I noticed there was a room divider and a really nice bar area so they could accommodate a large group too. From the very beginning of planning, my mom could do nothing but brag about the staff and when I arrived, I quickly realized why. From the front staff to our personal servers, Louis' employees were friendly and attentive. We had one guest with a lot of dietary restrictions and the waitstaff and kitchen staff were more than happy to provide her with a wonderful meal. Speaking of food.....we chose the light lunch menu of soups, salads and bread. I was worried that it wouldn't be enough food, but I was wrong! We were served giant bowls of delicious minestrone soup and huge fresh salads. Our guests were able to select from 3 different salads and everyone said they were fantastic. I couldn't even finish mine, there was so much! Our table had to request an extra bread basket because it was so good that we tore through the first one in record time. The restaurant works with an award winning local bakery (coincidentally the same one who did my wedding cake 8 years ago) and we were able to order 3 amazing cakes. The chef had a great idea to slice the cakes up so that everyone was able to enjoy all 3 on one plate. Overall this was an outstanding experience and people are still telling me how much they enjoyed the restaurant and shower!

Our first experience was in July 2014, and it was wonderful. We called ahead, to see if casual dress was ok on a Saturday evening. A OK with them. Our server was seasoned, experienced and an expert on the menu. Perfect timing and easy going with our questions. He gave us his business card at the end of our mean and invited us back. It felt quite genuine. The steaks were cooked PERFECTLY! They offer many aged cuts as well as brands. Dessert we took to go, also delicious. Yes, don't plan on going cheap at Louis Chop House. This a classic steakhouse, and should expect to pay accordingly. You will not be let down, of that I am sure. We recently went to E B Greens Steakhouse in Buffalo, NY - which is supposedly #2 in the country. Louis Chop house is monumentally better, in every possible way! Truly. Lastly, we left when the piano entertainment started in the bar. The music was dated and too loud. Otherwise, superb. Still giving 5 stars though, because the entertainment reminded me a little of Bill Murray's airport lounge act from Saturday Night Live. That can never be wrong!

My wife and I decided to go here for our anniversary. It was relatively close to home and we have never tried it before. Our server was great. His name was Dave. Very kind, decent and a good server. The decor, it's kind of dated and has very little personality including lots of wood and indescript styling. It was very clean and kept very well. I think the place is striving to be more of an Italian Steakhouse.......but I'm not exactly sure. The food was pretty good. We both had steaks and they were prepared perfectly. The problem was, they were luke warm. All of our food was luke warm. The bad thing, which I consider a no-non was that my wife sent her baked potato back. It was nearly cold. When the server brought it back IT WAS THE SAME POTATO reheated in a microwave. WHO DOES THAT? Anyway, I still think it's a pretty good place...possibly a little overpriced for the type of food.. It was definitely edible and tasty. For the amount of $ spent etc., I doubt we will return. I do believe there are better choices such as Clawson Steakhouse, Flemings, Mortons etc.

Excellent staff take pride in their jobs. Although the restaurant is higher end in price for nice night out very good. The cheese potatoes are the best get them. The steaks are very good and cooked to your liking.

I'm in love! Great food, service and ambiance. I will certainly be coming back! Ps James makes the best omelets

(4)Lia S.
Prompt, friendly service. I have never had to wait for a table during prime dining hours on the weekend. I have tried lots of different foods on the menu and have liked them all. The prime rib and fish and chips are two of my favorites on the menu.
(5)David K.
(1)Jack G.

This place is amazing! The food and drinks are great! Our server Eric was very attentive :) I highly recommend this place for anyone in the Chesterfield area!
(5)Michael K.

My girlfriends and I went to Louis' for dinner and drinks the other night. It was a Saturday night and we had a booth in the bar. The ambiance was wonderful in there! The lights were dimmed and the piano player was a great touch. Needless to say the whole place is beautiful. Some of us ordered wine, which the wine selection is amazing. They have a beautiful wine cellar too right when you walk in. We also got martinis which were all so yummy! The bartenders make one of a kind drinks. The hospitality at Louis' is wonderful, the staff welcomes you as if you were in their own homes. Now onto the food, SO good. We started off with a caprese salad to share as an appetizer, it was delicious. The appetizer selection is wonderful but we had to save room for the big stuff. All of us ladies got different entrees so we could try each other's. The filet melts in your mouth, the zip sauce on it is perfect! The prime rib is the BEST in the Detroit area, so much flavor! My sister got the sautéed perch, amazing! I got the New York strip with sautéed mushrooms, so good! So much flavor. This place definitely has top notch steaks. Best in the area. The au gratin potatoes are a must, so much cheesy goodness! The salads were so fresh tasting, the soups are all homemade and delicious. I'll save the best part for last.. The desserts. We ordered the table side bananas foster, the presentation was done by the owner and it was outstanding, and I must add the best tasting dessert I've ever had. Definitely my favorite. We also got tiramisu and chocolate mousse. I'm a huge dessert fan, let's just say they all made me happy! And don't forget to order a cup of their coffee, you'll fall in love. Best coffee I've ever had. Out of all the times I've been here I've never had a bad experience, from the food to the service. My girlfriends and I had a great night out, you will not be disappointed!
(5)Jody W.
(5)David F.

(4)Heather G.
(5)Jayne C.
(1)Amanda J.
Awesome service, great food and beautiful restaurant!! I'm a server so I give attention to detail. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family!
(5)Andrea R.
Walked in for lunch and waited 10 minutes in the lobby while severs went back and forth to the kitchen. Never acknowledged so we left. You lost 2 customers. I would give it any stars since we didn't even get seated. Sad!
(1)Ann K.
We've gone for Sunday brunch 3 times. Generally, the food is ok. The guys making omelets and waffles are first-rate, both in their food preparation and their customer interaction! Sadly, the rest of the service has been less than impressive. For this price range, I expect more - from the food and especially from the service.
(3)Scott W.
(2)S L.
This is my favorite restaurant in Michigan. Yes, Ruth's Chris, Flemings and the like use a higher quality beef. However, Louis has better flavor, better sides, and all around better food.
(5)Jim.N.Shirley D.
Start with white, cloth table clothes... That should tell it all... OR It only gets better.
(4)Chuck H.
Great place for a steak dinner! The atmosphere is very nice and the food is always outstanding. I remember when it used to be Riviera and man has it come a long way since then.
(4)Henry B.
(4)Bren M.
(4)Katie M.
(5)Kelly S.

(5)Tom B.

This chop house really is as good as it gets! They are best known for their prime rib which is as tender and juicy as they come. They have equally enjoyable offerings of char-grilled or BBQ styled pork chops, filet mignon and, for those watching their diet, their exclusive certified Piedmontese filet that is endorsed by the American Heart Association. It is a guiltless bit of beef that has a fat content similar to a lean piece of chicken and does not fall short on taste. I have yet to sample their seafood or chicken entrées so I can't vouch for them. (I always have a difficult time veering from the beef and pork whenever I go to a chop house.) The service is friendly, polite and accommodating. The atmosphere feels special without being pretentious. If you don't want to break the bank, go for their breakfast, brunch and lunch menu. You won't be disappointed. They also offer a weekly Sunday brunch with a made-to-order omelette station that is fantastic. A few years ago, my wife's family needed to find an alternative solution for Thanksgiving dinner since my mother-in-law was no longer able to prepare the meal as she had always done. We took a chance and had Louis' take over the reins. The turkey and sides were plentiful and well prepared. When you factor in all the food, including two types of gravy, you cannot beat the value. We would recommend them for this service without hesitation. Louis' is a favorite of mine and I think it will be one of yours.

LOL!

Well, it was a longtime coming, but the updated review of Louis' Chop House is here. Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I will tell you that I personally did not go; however, I sent my brother in my stead to fill me in on whether or not Louis' has used my previous low reviews to better their establishment, or simply ignore it and proceed with the status quo. My brother informs me that it was the former! Now, there were some minor hiccups - a reservation was made, when they arrived the reservation was not there. They waited about 10 minutes, and were taken care of thereafter - but, overall he and his wife were quite pleased with the place. They loved the décor (as did I), and the food they received was top notch. My sister-in-law had a delicious salmon filet, and my brother a tender cut of meat. He did have to send it back for being overcooked, but he said they gave him a new order as quickly as possible, and they were appropriately apologetic for not getting it right the first time. This is what I want to hear! If there's a problem, you swiftly take care of it. My brother did say he saw a few employees using cell phones (it's not easy to get employees to stop), but that overall the staff was pleasant and accommodating. His wife was very happy with their meal, dessert, and drinks and he was as well. I'm inclined to give this place another shot myself firsthand after hearing how wonderful the evening was. I may send him back one more time to try the Sunday brunch as I did, and if that goes as well as this evening did, I won't just go back, I'll go back with a smile and a pocket full of cash to spend!

Great restaurant, food, staff and atmosphere. Highly recommended. I had veal and it was perfectly cooked, and topped with a crab cake. Although this combination is unusual, the sauce used really blended the texture and the flavor perfectly. My only complaint: the mashed potatoes were too dry. The creme brûlée was also exceptional! The service was quick and there was no wait time at 7pm on a Monday.
