Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

If you are a diabetic, you should also avoid Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich and Whataburger Patty Melt at Whataburger. Chicken Fajita Taco is also off-limits for diabetics. You must also avoid Breakfast Platter and Pancake Platter from the menu. Pancakes and Cinnamon Roll from the breakfast menu are also off-limits for diabetics.

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. It's true that the interior is dated, the booth seats need more padding, renewing. The food is ok, tolerable, over priced for quality . The location is prime being on the water. I had been to a few restaurants up north this place is similar in feel as far as decor ,but the food doesn't make the cut.

Decor needs updating and a few dollars spent on new fixtures. The bathrooms have not seen any investment in 20 years and glancing in the kitchen, kind of scary. Service was good and food was acceptable. The prices were higher than I would expect for the building and food. 1970s decor and food and 2014 prices.

My mother tells me that she and her parents would drive down to Cadillac just to have lunch here, like 50-some years ago. So apparently this place has been around forever. And to be honest, you can tell based on the interior decor. It's so dark and drab and there is a fish tank hanging out near the bathroom toward the back of the restaurant. It's kinda of weird. The 2 things this place has going for it is 1 - the location (right on the water) and 2 - the outdoor deck. Ok, three things - our waitress was very friendly and attentive, even though it was busy for an early Saturday lunch period. I think it was busy because they have a breakfast buffet for $8.99 (AYCE). The old people love that kind of stuff, cheap food and all you can eat - you'll see a line of seniors waiting for that deal. Come to think about it, there was a large table of seniors next to us working on their umpteenth plate I'm sure and billionth cup of coffee. I ordered a crock of french onion soup and the reuben sandwich. I don't know about you, but I prefer the onions in my french onion soup to be soft, like they've been cooking for awhile. I don't want crunchy onions...and these onions were crunchy. The saving grace was the melted cheese and crouton top - quite delightful. The reuben sandwich was good too, I wish it had more meat and less sauerkraut though. Their special sauce wasn't like a traditional reuben sauce, it was different but a good different and complimented the meat, bread, and cheese well. I give it 3 starts because there is some nostalgia here and the food was good. The decor is what needs works.

I used to eat here with my family as a child when we'd head north for the summer. I am pretty sure it hasn't changed in 25 years. So, we stopped through on our way back to GR after a vacation North this past weekend. Our server was fine, but the hostess yesterday was rather unpleasant. She tried to dissuade us from sitting on the deck because it had rained earlier in the day (it was 330 on Labor Day and sunny, why would we eat indoors?) she was quite rude. But, it was worth the quarrel to my husband to sit with the beautiful view of the lake. It really is a spectacular deck. The food was delicious. My husband's Monte Cristo was excellent, I liked my grilled cheese, and my son's burger was cooked just right. The fries were AUH-MAY-ZING! Sadly all of us got ucky tummy shortly after eating and needed to make 3 emergency pitstops. I don't know if that is a result of the food or traveling.... Or both. Overall, it is a fond memory worth revisiting again. But, it seems worth waiting some time in between visits to keep the nostalgia warm.

Nice view. Enjoyed sitting outside. Service was slow. Cook messed up order and had to wait a long time. Food was average. Probably would be perfect just to grab a few drinks and some apps but that's it.

My friends and I stopped in for lunch on our way through town and we are so glad we did! It's laid back and casual, perfect for us while traveling. You can't beat the location. It's conveniently located right on 115 but has the beauty and serenity of being right on the water. I highly recommend sitting on the patio beneath the big tree and enjoying the scenery while you eat. Both the hostess and waitress were very friendly and offered up some great suggestions. I had the Philly Steak Sandwich, which comes served on warm ciabatta bread. It was DELICIOUS! One of my friends has the Eggs Benedict and really enjoyed that also. My other friend took advantage of the lunch buffet. He loved his food too. Overall, beautiful scenery, friendly staff, and delicious food! Easily a 5 star review. If you find yourself in the area, definitely stop in and check out that Philly sandwich.

Pretty decent food, service was great, coffee was meh :) we had the French toast and bacon cheddar melt: French toast wasn't all that, the melt was good. all in all, a pretty descent carb-loaded breakfast.

Stopped through with the family on a road trip that took us through Cadillac. It always seems that we're hungry by the time we go through Cadillac and we've now found our favorite restaurant. Food was excellent! Portion sizes very big. Everyone in my family of 5 loved their food and that is rare. Restaurant decor a little dated but everything was very clean and kept up so who really cares, right?. I had their monte cristo, one of the best monte cristo's I've ever had. The fries were very good too. The desserts looked awesome but we were just to full to try them.

Guacamole was good! My fish was perfectly cooked. I loved the fries, very crispy. We stopped on the way back home from manistee. Our waitress was great, very friendly. We sat outside and it was very nice. We would definitely eat here again.

Burke's has the best fried fish sandwich I've eaten since I moved to the Midwest, and the chips are great too! It is close to the road, but the deck on the water is so pretty it makes up for it. My boyfriend had the fried fish platter and we enjoyed that too. I will admit the inside of the restaurant was a little worn out, but don't let that stop you from enjoying the great food.

If there was a way to rate this place worse than terrible, I would. This restaurant does not care about quality food, sanitation or training their servers. Both my wife's salad and my BLT were awful. How can a restaurant manage to make a bad BLT? Dry toast, wet lettuce, soggy tomatoes, and a tiny amount of mayonnaise that is exactly how. The dressing on my wife's iceberg lettuce "fresh greens" salad was bottle dressing and horribly salty. The floors were dirty. The bathroom was not clean. The place had a careless attitude. This restaurant is an embarrassment to the town of Cadillac, MI. The local chamber of commerce should have a long talk with these people. I pass through this town 3 times per year and have eaten simply and decently elsewhere. The view of two small lakes does not compensate for any of the above. Burke's needs to wake up and realize; Michigan has plenty of lakes to look at and this will be the last time my wife and I will look at yours. ICK!

We had a decent meal here, wanted a good local spot for breakfast. The blueberry pancakes were pretty good, my sons cheeseburger and fries were all right. My omelette was overcooked but the hash browns and toast were good. I would probably check out some other places to see if they are better but would rather eat here than some chain restaurant.

I'm enjoying a late breakfast at Burke's Waterfront. The reviews on Yelp were just sketchy enough pique my interest. I'm a little disappointed. It's not as run down or "dive-ish" as the reviews made it sound. Must have been written by people who prefer Ruth's Chris Steakhouse over Ponderosa. :) But seriously, it's a pretty average northern Michigan diner. Don't set your expectations too high, or too low, and you'll be just fine. My omelette was delicious. Nothing spectacular, just good food. My bacon was hot, a little less crispy than I like, but good, too. My only compliant would be my has hbrowns; they were nice and crispy, but greasy and bland. Don't like to taste the oil they were cooked with and a little flavor goes a long way with potatoes. Service was fast, but I'd expect that since there were only 4 or 5 other tables seated at 9:30AM on a Tuesday.

I was a bit disappointed with everything after getting here.. The place is cute, with a nice view of the lake but food was mediocre at best. A very blah buffet was about all that made sense to order.. and that wasn't all that good. The bacon was tough, fatty and just overall not great. Drive a few more miles and find somewhere else when you are in northern michigan looking for some breakfast.

I have to respectfully disagree with the other reviewers on this place. The food was good, the decor is nice enough for an up north side-of-the-road restaurant, and the service was fine. I had the buffalo burger and tried the pulled pork and eggs benedict. The burger was a bit dry, but that is to be expected from a lean buffalo burger. The chips are just ruffles, but the fries are a lightly seasoned, which was nice. The pulled pork tasted a little like canned pulled pork, but it still was really tasty. Finally, the eggs benedict was phenomenal; easily the best meal I tried there. The outdoor deck was very nice as it is shaded by a large tree and overlooks a small portion of Cadillac Lake. The interior can is defined by wood paneling and doilies, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Especially if you're into wood paneling and doiles. Also, the fish tank appeared clean, so I guess they took the prior reviewer's criticisms to heart concerning the possible animal cruelty. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. You eat here because you're hungry, and when it comes to the food, the place does not disappoint.

Skip this place. This restaurant looks cute outside and has a nice deck area, but really is pretty rundown inside. My salad had dirt in it. I didn't discover that until half-way through. The booth benches needed to be re-upholstered because they were ripped and torn. The carpet should have been replaced years ago. The food was far below average and slopped onto my plate. My fish did not taste fresh. My wife's was better but I could only describe it as "okay." To top it off our waitress disappeared. I finally had to walk around to find her. She was up front going through receipts. She looked up at the clock and realized she had abandoned us. My kids never got their ice cream that was included in their meal - which is just as well because they took so long with everything we just wanted to leave.

Food wasn't bad, wasn't amazing, but did the trick. Service was great. Overpriced, but decent. I can't complain but can't really rave either.

We had driven past this restaurant a number of times and finally decided to give it a try. Set right on the water, it has a wonderful deck and an inviting feel from the outside. However, once through the front door, the inviting feel changes to more of an old and outdated ambiance. Beyond the view of the lake from the outdoor deck, the best part of this restaurant is its water glasses. Real glass, nice design, no chips. I know, it is bad when the highlight of the meal is the glass in which the water is served. The lunch we had was mediocre at best. Typical burger and sandwich fare with nothing to set this place apart from any Friendly's type of restaurant. We so badly wanted to find a cute place inside with great food that complimented this great setting. The iced tea tasted like it was brewed in 1953. The chicken and dumpling soup, which is said to be their signature soup, was more of a scribble then a signature. The grilled cheese was good, but the "chips" that came with it were essentially for decorative purposes only. Service was pleasant and fine, but we would not be back. A call to Robert Irvine and Restaurant Impossible would be a great idea.

The food was very good however the Waitress we had was horrible. We wanted the other waitress that was in the same area. The only other issue is with the water..... Tasted like it came from the lake or a well. 2 stars only because the food was good, we will try it again some other time and see if the rating stays the same.

Burke's needs to wake up and realize; Michigan has plenty of lakes to look at and this will be the last time my wife and I will look at yours. ICK!

Just got an average club sandwich but the view on the patio made it totally worth it!
