Diabetics at TGI Friday
If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.
Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:
Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

About TGI Friday
TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.
Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.

This TGI Friday's is part of the whole buildup around Lee Rd. It is also in Green Oak Township. The parking lot is a little strange, because there's only one way in and one way out, even though you're surrounded by other parking lots and drives. Hopefully, you're sober, and you should be if you're driving because you'll also have to navigate the infamous Lee Rd roundabouts. Once you make it in the door, it's TGIF all the way. I hope you like red, white, and Guy Fieri, cuz it's everywhere. The menu is always refreshingly different, and of course there is booze. But don't forget you still have to navigate and drinking and driving and roundabouts are illegal. Another good thing about TGI Friday's is that they have a cluster of hostesses at the door. Not the cupcake, the person kind. I kind of like this, b/c I always get my name on the seating list, or get seated if there isn't a wait. Some places only have one hostess and if s/he is seating someone, then you stand there waiting, wondering, do I seat myself? Is this the norm in a Township? The place is clean and they keep up with the repairs and such. All in all, it's a safe bet for your dining out dollars.

Flat Iron steaks are great. Ribs are good too. Salads are fresh and crisp. Very clean and well maintained. Prices seemed reasonable. Service was excellent, although I went on a Monday when it was a bit slower. Always a friendly smile from staff, and very appreciative of customers patronizing them.

Went back in recently to use a coveted $8 off coupon. I got a NY Cheeseburger which ended up being delivered as a Jack Daniels BBQ burger. I didn't figure it our until I was a third of the way through it. Not what I ordered for a reason. It was OK, just not my style of burger. My wife got a petite sirloin with a double side of veggies, and she said it was superb. The steak looked cooed exactly right (medium-rare!). It's a good standby as far as chains go, and the service is usually very good, so I'll be back. Next time I'll get the correct burger though! :-)

Came to Friday's on a Tuesday- I should have gone elsewhere. Service was slow, it wasn't really very crowded, and the food was pretty industrial, if you asked me. I tried the Bud light on tap. That was the best part of the whole meal. After that, everything went downhill. The "Sizzling Chicken and Shrimp" was a flop. First, I think it was microwaved, not "sizzling". The chicken itself was very bland, and the shrimp wasn't any better. I think they put a Kraft American cheese slice on the vegetables. Say what? Yep. At least the mashed potatoes were halfway decent. Do yourself a favor a skip this place. There are much better places around Brighton to try to get a good meal. This was a waste if $40 that could have been better spent elsewhere.

We drive from Ohio stopped at 12:55. Ordered soup & salad lunch special. It was FREEZING! So cold it was extremely uncomfortable. We waited 20 minutes for 2 beers (the hostess actually came up to our table after noticing how long we had been there. She brought our drinks within minutes). Table next to us was seated, received drinks and there entire lunch before us. We ended up complaining and receiving our soup & salad after a 40+ minutes wait. Sadly, they were not even busy. Kind of dead actually....the server at the table next to us seemed great (attentive etc). This was all kinds of bad....

I love this t.g.I Fridays. Just was in and ordered the steak with shrimp and it was beyond delicious. The service was on point perfect and I would defiantly recommend to others. Even though its kind of expensive but kind of worth it.

Your hostess service is beyond horrible!! It was obvious from the time we walked in that they were incompetent. A group of 9 people should not be that difficult to accommodate. Rude and disrespectful to customers.

Went here for drinks after my date and I ate dinner. It was almost 11pm and we pretty much had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The waitress was really sweet and attentive. The bartender was fun, he threw bottles and did tricks. It was a good place to go to talk without having to scream over loud music.

I came here for lunch with some friends on Sunday, and I had an awesome time! I haven't been to TGI Fridays in a while, and its the same as I remember. We were greeted and seated immediately, and after the initial greeting, when we were ready to order, the waitress kinda disappeared on us. She eventually came back, but it seemed to be a while. I went with the cheeseburger, Dr pepper and fries. Food was served quick, was tasty, and we had a really good time. Gotta love the TGI Fridays! Anyways, place was awesome, and the company I was with ruled! :-) I would return in the future.

It's the A-typical TGI Friday's experience... The food is decent, depending on who's in the kitchen. The alcoholic drink prices are ridiculous and what's even more ridiculous is after spending a $50 bar tab, they charged me $3.00 for a soda; any other restaurant just gives you a side after spending any amount on bar drinks. I'll likely find another TGI Friday's if I'm in the mood for their food...

I have dined at this TGI Friday's once before and had a wonderful experience. However, last Saturday I went with my grown son and not so great. First of all, we put our name in and sat at the bar. About 1 minute later, they sat us at a table inside the bar. Our server, Megan, approached us and the first thing she did was complain that we already had a drink and that "throws her off". Um, sorry dear, but my son has brought me here for Mother's Day and I didn't realize it was all about you. My son ordered salmon and shrimp and I ordered Jack Daniels sirloin. I ordered it medium and it was completely rare in the middle. I never send food back but I asked for it to be cooked a little more. It came back only more charred on the outside but still rare on the inside. I just ate it because I didn't want to cause any waves with Megan. She never smiled - I guess she never got over the fact we already had drinks when we sat down. My son left her a 20% tip which I didn't think she deserved. She never said thank you but made a point to address the two gentlemen seated behind us with a very loud "THANK YOU AGAIN GENTLEMEN" as she passed our table. IF I ever go there again (we have a summer house in Hartland so am not out that way year round), I will be sure to ask to not be seated in her section. I'd hate to put her out by having to wait on us. She really ruined what was supposed to be a nice mother-son dinner. I even said something to the two young people at the door when we were leaving and they said "Oh yeah, that's just how she is". Really? Well, maybe she needs to find a new career.
