Sorry, but I don't understand the positive ratings on Coney Joe's. Anyone who knows me understands that I love this type of food. I found the coney's below average. Just seemed to lack flavor. Also disappointed in the fries. We were first disappointed with the serving size for the price - but did not even finish them due to the mushy, blah texture. The people were very nice but the food was just disappointing! Pretty pricey too (for what you get). A standard glass of fountain pop is also expensive at $2.15 with no refills.

Still amazing dogs. That sauce is magical. Dying of slow horrible coney sauce wihthdrawls in Chicago. "2 w/cheese, light onions please"

Coney joes has been making excellent coneys for years! Coneys w/ cheese, onions, and mustard are the best way to go!! Don't forget to order the Texas tooth picks and if you have never tried them, take this advice and order them up you won't be disappointed! And make sure you bring cash because they are old school and don't have a credit card machine. Great food and nice people! I will certainly be going back for years to come!!

My boyfriend has been raving about this place for a while now, and I finally had the privilege to try it. To be safe, he ordered me a plain and a coney... and it's legit. Coney sauce, raw onions, mustard, combined with the snap of the dog when you bite into it... so simple... so delicious. It was hands down my favorite food thing on my visit to MI.

Coney Joe's is a Brighton staple. It's been around for a looong time, and there's a reason for that. They don't mess with a good thing. If you have a hankering for a Coney dog (the awesome kind that pops when you bite into it -- yeah, baby) and fries, have zero interest in calories (and are like me and occasionally take a mini-break from my ethical eating), and solely have interest in taste and something that will stick to your ribs, this is your place. If this place ever shut down I'd have a case of the sads. It gives me the warm fuzzies just thinking about it. If they ever did offer free range, organic Coneys for us uptight hippies I'd set up camp and never leave. It's a small joint, simple, and good.

I've traveled Asia, Europe, and of course, North America. I love food and being born in the USA means I love a good hot dog. Nice place. Small, inviting, friendly and more important - good dogs. This time I picked up two Chicago Style dogs and a fry, and left stuffed and happy! Worth the drive and was a nice break in my day.

Coney Joe's meets the literal definition of a hole-in-the-wall. You've seen the Preview Properties building at Grand River and Main Street? At the back of the building is Coney Joe's. There's limited seating in addition to the counter, but it's always fabulous for your carry-out order. Fair warning - if you pick up for the whole office, you will smell like coney for the rest of the day. Make sure you know your plans for later in the day before you volunteer.

Decent dogs... after reading all the reviews, I was expecting to be blown away. The place is good, but not great. I love that it is a local business and I will continue to support it. However the fries seem "meh", like store bought. The one thing I liked about the coney dog was that it wasn't terribly messy. You could pick it up and eat it. The topping are all real fresh, too. The hamburger patty is tiny... better get a double next time. Still, all in all a good local place.

Average at best. Maybe it was the fact I was told they were the world's best that I was so dissapointed. Typical Coney Island food, slightly more expensive. Go to Leo's and sit in a clean booth instead.

Hands down, the best food in Brighton. Every time I come back to Michigan, I have to visit Coney Joes. The pop of the dog and the greasy curly fries, ensure that I'll visit my parents at least a few times a year...
