Lots of seating. Friendly service. Large portions. My dad said the charbroiled chicken salad was the best he's ever had. Highly recommend!

Met some friends here for lunch and the place was hopping. Despite this, we were seated promptly and they accommodated my son who is in a wheelchair. The portions are quite generous! The steak and eggs is a bargain at just under $10. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. This is the place to go in Brighton for breakfast and lunch. One negative- not enough handicap parking spaces and none that are made for a full size van.

I went here for breakfast a while back after having a local facebook group say this is one of the better spots in Brighton for breakfast. Being a lover of all things breakfast, I figured I'd check it out. First off, the parking lot is filled with SUVs. I'm not sure what's going on with their clientele when the parking lot is full of all the cute-utes and SUVs in Brighton. Very bizarre. Second, you walk in and the place is nice. The counters for the cash register and hot pass are granite. It's a nice touch. But back to the clientele: grey hairs everywhere. Or, if you're not a grey hair, you're a "regular". It's very apparent that if you're not a face the waitresses OR the patrons have seen before, you get funny looks. Apparently you need an invitation to be here? You have to know someone? Regardless, I could definitely tell the waitresses had one type of service for me, and a much better type of service for those which were "regulars" or old people. I felt like I was being analyzed by the patrons throughout my entire meal. I wasn't dressed strange, I looked okay before I left the house... but I guess because I wasn't someone they had seen before, I wasn't welcome. I trudged through and got the southern benedict, which is eggs benedict, but sausage gravy instead of hollandaise and sausage instead of canadian bacon. It was meh. The hash browns were decent, but still meh... There wasn't anything wrong with it. Just nothing terribly spectacular. The service was mediocre. I had nothing done to me or not done to me that was out of the ordinary. It was just very evident that my waitress was a LOT more friendly with the regulars and old people than she was with me. Couple the meh food with the skeezy service and the very creepy patrons starting at me, I will not be back.

Went here for lunch on a recent Saturday and was less impressed with the food here. The atmosphere was very nice and the wait staff pleasant and accomodating. The sandwich I had (apple cinnamon monte cristo) was alright. The ham was tasty (Dearborn ham) but the the turkey could not have been in it as it was pretty tasteless. The apple cinnamon bread was good but as a whole could be better. The fries accompanying the sandwich were nothing to write home about. Perhaps this place is puts its best foot forward on the breakfast menu which maybe looking back at it may have been the thing to try. I might give this place another chance if I'm in the area but I won't go out of mny way to go back.

Busy, but efficient. Very good food. Generous portions. It seemed that there was only one person for a large section, but she (Sara) was able to cover all of the customers including refilling coffee. Well worth the 20% tip. The eggs and French toast was very good and all for $4.99. Half an order of French toast would have been perfect. The order comes with six halves and would be good by itself. Extensive menu and I will be back to try more. The interior is in nice earth tones and natural decorations including a fire place in the center of the dining room. It's probably cozy in the winter months. Parking spaces are tight but doable. The parking lot seemed limited, but there was a delivery truck, so it was hard to tell if that was the cause.

Great place for breakfast. Been here half dozen times, and never had a bad meal. Service is fast and friendly.

Some good friends of ours invited us out to Sunday brunch at this grill in Brighton. My wife and I had never been there, when we did get there, the place seemed jam packed. The lot is too small for the restaurant and it took a bit to get a decent parking spot. We were seated fast and It seemed like a nice decor but everyone and everything in there was buzzing back n forth. It felt almost too busy for me. Our friends arrived and before we could even really get settled, wait staff descended upon us in a blurr. I really don't like being rushed, but there wasn't much to do about it. The menu is ginormous! Everything from breakfast to lunch, dinner, dessert and almost anything else you'd want. I was hungry and opted for the Steak & Eggs - it seemed reasonable for $9.29. My wife ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with French Fries. Her burger was only $3.99 but the French fries cost an extra $2plus. the Food did not take long to come out. My wife loved her burger - cooked exactly as she asked. My Steak & Eggs was humongous. I did not expect to get a thick juicy strip steak - It was at least a 12oz cut. I asked for medium, but it was almost well done. There was not much regular flavor but I am a purist so all I needed was pepper and salt. The eggs were cooked perfectly and it seemed like they gave me a heaped pile of hashbrowns. I didn't even really need the toast that came with it. I am a big eater and I could not eat more than half the steak and maybe 1/3 of the potatoes. The service was very brisk, and drink refills were johnny on the spot. Overall a great place to eat, the price & the food quantity was the best part. I wish we could of been able to slow down a bit, and the parking lot was too small for the eatery. I would go there again for sure, the next time I visit Brighton. Maybe though not at the height of lunch rush

Favorite breakfast spot in town. Spacious booths, attentive staff and decent coffee. Not sure if I'd recommend the lunch fare, but I'm only looking for eggs benedict, pancakes, bacon & eggs or the usual unhealthy breakfast. Don't be shy in asking the staff to turn off or down the TVs

Breakfast that is exactly what Breakfast should be. Portions that fill you up, not greasy, fresh and you can score a 2 egg meal for less than $5. That says it all.

We've been to the Americus Grill in Brighton twice now and found it to be excellent both times! They have a very nice variety of food on the menu. The staff is very nice (sometimes a little slow, but I'm hoping that's just because they are starting out) and the atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy. We've visited with a party of 2 and a party of 10 and found both to be enjoyable. The fact they can accommodate larger groups comfortably is a big win for them! We've had breakfast and lunch. The breakfast was very good - especially if you love potatoes! The portions are quite large and the food was prepared well and served hot both visits. The only suggestion I have is ask them for extra butter on the potatoes as the hashbrowns do tend to be a bit on the dry side. The lunch salad was very large and also very good. One of our top 3 places in Brighton/Howell for Breakfast!

This place has changed owners so many times that I've lost count however, I Do think the new owners will have better luck. The food is very good & all the staff seem to be polite & courteous. They do have a coupon for 15% off which is used each time you go in and for everyone at your table. I like their eggs Benedict even though they use regular ham instead of Canadian bacon. The cream sauce is exceptionally good. They are always busy on the weekends but the wait is short. I don't think they are trying to compete with my favorite breakfast place.. Cheryl's..as they have more dinner entrees than Cheryl's does. Be aware that their parking lot is small & most of the customers are over 60 so watch who you park next to - LOL.

This was my first time here since the Americus replaced the Golden Platter and I enjoyed the new decor and feel here. There is a wide variety in the menu. The servers were very pleasant but the service was pretty slow. The food was good except that my rice was cold when the food came although everything else was fine. They brought me more rice but it wasn't much warmer. The broasted chicken and clam chowder were very good . I'll probably give it one more try but if the next experience is similar I will move to somewhere else.

desperate for a lunch and didn't want to do the Main street places. Expected higher class but it was just a common diner. I ordered the veggie wrap which came with fries. I was totally surprise when it came out with hot stir-fried veggies in the wrap. It was overly wet and messy and the flavor was non seasoned. guess that was why waitress ask if i wanted a dressing with it. the ranch i ordered (cause i thought it would be a cold salad inside) didn't quite fit; soy sauce might have gone better. The fries were extreme-enough for at least three. they were great round circled "cottage fried". we could not decide if they were fresh or frozen. Hubby got a reuben which came with zilch-nothing. he did do justice to my fries. when i ask how the sandwich was, he said - how can you ruin a reuben. but he also said he would return. as i would when in the mood for diner food.

Oh my, so disappointing. I was really hoping that when this restaurant opened there would be something exciting to fill our options here in Brighton. Unfortunately this was not the case. The food had an off-taste to it. I ordered a sandwich-the veggies had a soapy taste to them and the chicken was so hard and rubbery, it seemed like it had been re-heated in a microwave. My dad ordered some roast beef entree for lunch (I don't remember what it was called exactly) and it looked like they opened a jar of gravy and poured it on, again rubbery and tasteless meat. WIth two meals hardly touched, the waitress didn't ask or seem to care that we were unable to eat what had been served. Too bad, the decor after the remodel is nice...just don't go for the food.

The food is excellent. The menu has a nice selection, and portions are large. I have eaten here many times, and liked everything. The service is a different story. Unfortunately the wait staff could use some training. Today I waited 15 minutes for a refill on my drink. I made it very obvious that I needed a refill, setting the empty glass at the edge of the table. Unfortunately, the waitress did not come around for a long time. This was at 2:15pm when the restaurant was slow. Other visits have also needed better service.
