Not even a year has passed since I initially reviewed this place and wow have things changed. I went into the shop recently to buy cupcakes for a party, thinking that it would be an easy errand because of my previous experience. Well, the manager working was less than helpful, in fact she made me feel as if I were inconveniencing her, all of my questions were answered with one word so that I never really got a real answer to anything. I became so frustrated I decided to wait until another day in the evening hoping someone would be in the shop who may care about providing some customer service. The next time was the same thing. This time I asked more questions about cupcakes and was informed they had changed the recipes and that the cupcakes shown on the website are, in fact, not what they carry in the shop. She also told me if I were buying for a party the cupcakes are smaller than what you get from the case in the shop. Again, all of this information I gathered after pretty much having to interrogate her-none of this was just offered. I ended up buying 4 cupcakes while there to make sure I still liked them. And the taste test left me VERY disappointed and sad. I used to love these! The once great strawberry surprise is no longer great, all 4 cakes were dry, and they are smaller than they used to be. Unfortunately you can buy better cupcakes at Kroger. I had been such a fan of this shop and really was hoping it would retain the great customer service and quality I experienced when it had first re-opened. I hope things turn around and they can get back to being excellent.

I like this place much more now than before, I believe ownership has changed in the last 6 months. I also had the pleasure of trying the vegan banana bread and I admit it was pretty darned good.

We ordered a cake for my birthday....white layer cake with raspberry filling, and light fluffy white frosting. The white frosting was the only item on our order that was correct. We got YELLOW CAKE, and just a white frosting filling. The taste of the cake was fine. The cake was $80. I can get a yellow cake with white frosting and filling at Kroger, or ANY store, the day of and they will write on the cake for me while I wait for $25. You order a cake to get exactly what you want. We try to support local business, however we will not support Berkley Gourmet Cupcakes & Party Cakes.

I wanted a reeeeeeeeally nice Thomas the Train cake for my son's birthday because this is the first time we are actually having a party. I looked online, got some ideas, and I went into a bakery that had a nice cake in their portfolio online. They told me they were too busy to even entertain my order because they were booked with weddings. That's when I searched and found this bakery, they were very nice when I placed my order, and then I came home and read some less than positive reviews online and wanted to kick myself for not doing much research! I was worried until I picked up my cake today, all of my guest loved it and the best part is- YES it TASTED as good as it looked, I will definitely be back!

Friendly, but not as good as Just Baked cupcakes. The frosting was too sweet.

Oh how I love this cupcake shop! It was October...my fiance's birthday was coming up and we were attending a large Halloween on his birthday. I was going to order a cake, but I thought to myself that bringing a cake was a hassle because then you would have to cut it, serve it and have plates and forks available. CUPCAKES were the answer! Luckily they had their delicious peanut butter cup cupcakes on sale that month, so I ordered 40 of them. I picked them up the morning of the party with no problems and I heard plenty of glowing compliments about the cupcakes. I recommend this shop to anyone with confidence that you will enjoy the treats there.
