Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. The food was decent- we had the nachos as an app, which were great, and I had the salmon for my entree, which I would definitely recommend to others and order again! Side of spinach was a bit dry, but otherwise there was nothing to complain about. My real reasoning for this post was to compliment the service we received from both the hostess that seated us (though I didn't catch her name) and our server, Nadia. I asked for advice on both what drinks to order and what entree and she was very knowledgeable and friendly- and definitely didn't lead me in the wrong direction! Since it's a chain restaurant, I wasn't really expecting much, and I feel the service went above and beyond and deserves to be pointed out. We will definitely be back!

Just below average service, food , and quality. 2 for 20 meal with steaks . Steaks were cold and not cooked to order , potatoes taste like fish . Also ordered chicken wonton tacos . More like coleslaw tacos because that's mostly what I got . I've had the tacos at other Applebee's and they had chicken and sauce that was great. Not here. Also wife waited at curbside to go only to watch others go in to kayaks come out with food. Probably why mine sucks and is cold . Will plan to never return to this one EVER!!!!! Horrible meal. 37 bucks for dogfood. FYI . Chilies may forget to pack all your food , but food is always good . Applebee's you are failing to be my neighborhood grill . Get it together , this is garbage .

On my way here I was warned by a co-worker that the food wasn't very good, but I knew of some favorites of mine, so I came anyway. VERY disappointed. The cooks apparently only offer 2 temps of burger, which is a huge sign that they can't cool meat properly. As for apps, here's the Wontons's.

The 3 stars were for the food as Applebee's doesn't ever disappoint. The lack of two stars were for the service. Our waitress (during this slow hour) walked by our table several times- not one time did she refill coffee or water or ask us how we were doing. Also I had to ask for my beverage twice. I was shocked at how she never came back to the table until it was time for us to get our bill. My service is always consistent at Applebee's and unfortunately this was the only bad time. She also didn't smile which added to the service issue.

Food was pretty average. However the service I've received the last couple times has been mediocre. Our server seemed to be too busy with other tables to tend to us. She kept walking past our table when our card was to pay the tab, and then decided that sweeping the floor was more important. Dirty plates sat on the table, and our drinks remained empty. Waited 10 minutes until she finally picked it up-- sadly I'm not exaggerating. I'm a waitress so I understand having to care for a big party--and it isn't easy--but that doesn't excuse giving us bad service.

If I could I would give Applebee's negative stars, our visit on 6/1/15 was pretty bad (waitress spilled a glass of water on my wife), but the food poisoning she got from her chicken wrap made us 'never again going to Applebee's in BH' customers.
(1)Judy M.
This particular Applebee's just feels dirty. Everything on the table feels sticky and a couple of our menus had food smeared in them. I can't comment on the food because we left without ordering. If the upfront area isn't clean, I just couldn't imagine what lurked behind the scenes in the kitchen.
(1)Wayne S.
We arrived after a long day of driving and were starving. They promptly seated us and we ate heartily. I can't say that the food was great, it was the same as any other Applebee's menu. It was prepared just as we had asked. The building itself was a bit older, but I liked the decor. It wasn't in the best of neighborhoods, I made sure that I sat at a table where I could see my car.

Classic Applebees

I was very happy over the weekend to get great service at this Applebee's. Both the managers and wait staff were very nice. It was really hot outside and my kids were tired and hungry. We got our drinks fast, the manager brought over some oreo cookies to keep them busy and out food arrived very quickly. It's a chain restaurant so the food is going to be the same 9 times out of 10. But when you get friendly and prompt service. It makes the food taste better.

It's Applebee's, you know the drill!
(4)Scott J.
It was 95 degrees outside, we were having A/C problems with our car, so we decided on an Applebee's break on our way home to Chicago. I had the cheeseburger slider appetizer and the rest of the family had the "Blanco Quesa and Chips." The burgers were fresh tasting, meaty not thin like a White Castle with American cheese, a special sauce, mustard....and fries. More than enough and completely satisfying for only $7.95. Shoot, you can pay more these days at McDonald's sitting in the car going through the drive through! The bowls of chips and Blanco Quesa were big enough to wear as hats on the top of your head. Huge portions for $6.89!! Fresh food, nice waitresses, nice Applebee's community decor. Loved it! Go there and fill up on a budget!
(5)Brent D.
This experience was very nice. The food tasted good, the price was average, and the service was top notch for a place like this. My waitress, Kimberly B., was awesome. I'll be coming back sometime.
(4)Eric R.
Over all I will just rate this applebee's. I have never had a bad trip to this location.
(4)Bradley G.
Warm beer, cold food, poor service you might want to try another place.
(1)Lynn M.
We decided to stop after a long day of driving, and thought Applebee's would be a safe choice. It was around 11:15am and we were only the 2nd table in the place. It took the waitress 10 minutes to get our drinks and another 10 minutes to place our order. You could tell she had been waitressing for a few years (maybe 20) and she was just not into it any more. After waiting another 20 minutes for our food, she never checked on us, but hung out at the bar talking to the other servers and bartender. When the food came, it was a small portion, and the waitress acknowledged this, and said they were making another piece. My friend got very sick off of the chicken. He said it just tasted funny, so after a few bites he put it aside. That is all it took. I ordered the soup and salad all you can eat combo so I could try a few different varieties of their salads, but after waiting 1/2 an hour to get any food, I only got the small portion they served. Which was very good. The spinach salad and the french onion soup. I'm not sure if it was the server, the kitchen help, if everyone was hung over, but not a good experience.
