For some reason we keep trying this place and have not had a good experience after four tries. We always have lousy service and the food is mediocre at best, despite slightly expensive prices. My wife had the fish and chips and the fish was burnt and her fries were old and chewy. The manager did remake her dish but didn't offer any compensation. I had the bacon, egg and cheeseburger and it was a mess to eat and had to use a fork and knife- not ideal for a burger. I respect their commitment to staying local with Michigan products (yay Red Pop!) but I doubt we'll go back.

Well worth the drive to Belleville. We had an amazing lunch!!!! Drinks were great with a generous pour. We received very good service from a very good sever. She was attentive. We split a small side of the INCREDIBLE twisted mac and she even split it up for us on our own serving dishes! Waffle fries were the bomb! The lollipop pork was fabulous, the twisted chicken sandwhich was unexpected perfection! YUM. We will definately go back and recommend to friends and family.

Had lunch the other day which consisted of the Fish Tacos and me and my friend split the Lobster Mac & Cheese. One really nice gesture was I told the waiter that me & my friend were going to share the Lobster Mac so the cook split the Lobster Mac into two dishes for me & my friend. So now onto my review of the food. Both dishes were very tasty. I prefer grilled fish for my tacos but the pale ale battered fish were well prepared and tasted great. The tacos were very messy so maybe they need to cool it on the Cilantro Sour Cream a bit. The Lobster Mac was delicious but we both had only 2 nice sized pieces of lobster per bowl. In my opinion the portion size is good but I would chop the lobster into a few more pieces so that I have some lobster in more bites of the Mac. Overall very good food and our waiter was excellent. I will definitely go back.

Location is good. It is an easy exit off of I-94 and an easy visit from Belleville or Canton, MI. It sits in front of a Meijer store, so that is convenient as well. The staff is friendly and professional right from the person at the door to the wait staff. I drink Diet Coke like crazy and the waitress was ready with a refill as soon as I finished the first glass. The restaurant is clean, has a nice bar area, large TV's and an open concept type of seating. The music is loud, but nothing any more obnoxious than other places. I like the "Commit to the Mitt" theme. I noticed a "South of the Canadian Border Martini". They could change that to "North of the Canadian Border" since there are parts of Detroit that are actually north of Windsor. That would make people stop and think and maybe even answer a Jeopardy question correctly. On a previous visit, our entire table got fish and chips and loved them. The fish and chips are the best in the area. On the visit today, I got the pulled pork sandwich which was very flavorful. The pork was tender and had their special coleslaw on it. I'm glad the pork wasn't swimming in BBQ sauce. It was done perfectly. Be sure to ask for extra napkins with this one. I would recommend this restaurant for all ages and appetites.

I've been here a number of times because my guests have wanted to go. At least four times either at my table or a patron close by have sent food back because it is too salty. The manager exclaims "we salt and pepper everything in the kitchen". Pretty lame he doesn't get it. The food could be good but avoid ! There are better places in Canton just up the road , Ypsi or Ann Arbor. Salty Mac and cheese complaints, salty mushroom bisque, and the encrusted whitefish way too much salt. Belleville seems to have a high tolerance for bad food because it took over 2 years for Charhouse to go out of business and that was the most disgusting food ever!

Have visited here about five times. Just happened to find it one day. I ordered the pulled pork and it is the best I have had. Have not tried anything else. They other people I have gone with have all been very happy with their selections. Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is nice and very noisy on weekends. Recommend.

New name on the sign and a different menu, but very similar to other restaurants owned by this company. Twisted Rooster has 3 Michigan locations that serve Michigan sourced food and beverages as much as they can for a mini-chain. The main dining area is very open with booths along the walls and table seating in the middle. A dimly lit bar area is near the entrance with several close tables and stools. Seating has been very fast every time I have been here, and the waitstaff attentive, almost annoyingly attentive if the place isn't busy. There are over a dozen large HDTVs, but they are positioned high and muted in the dining area, easy to ignore. The channels are mostly sporting games and a mix of news and politics. They craft many cocktails with MI liquors and liqueurs and offer several MI craft beers on tap. On the back of the servers shirts it reads "Commit To The Mitt" . A slogan that their drink and food menu adheres to. HAPPY HOUR --WEEKDAYS FROM 3-6pm $2 beers, cheap appetizers, and on Wednesdays they offer $3 burgers Most of their menu is a little "different". Waffle fry nachos, crazy macaroni with lobster and crispy fried cheese fans on top, several nice appetizers. After several visits we have not has a bad thing yet. The soup is sometimes a little salty, but not every time. The burgers have been cooked as ordered even on a busy Friday night. Prices are comparable to any of the macro chains, but Twisted Rooster food is FAR superior to Applebees, ect. due to the freshness of the ingredients and consideration they seem to take in the kitchen to put out unique, quality food. See ya there on Wednesday afternoon !!

Overall, it was a good value. Goods: The brussel sprouts were amazing. I had the orange chicken and my wife the BBQ chicken wings. Both flavors were great. Bads: The chicken was incredibly dry and overcooked. While I love and enjoy a good wine, I'm no wine snob. I had the Twisted Cabernet which was without doubt the worst wine I have ever had in my life. I will be back to give it another try.

Food is great! Had the Cajun buffalo sandwich(packed with flavor) Also tried the Mac and cheese(really good and cheesy) I was full and tastebuds were happy, unfortunately my wallet was not. All in all great place to take a date out too.

The General Manager is an idiot. Yesterday, I ordered a sandwich, and it was missing the cheese. When I told/showed the bartender, the GM, who was also behind the bar, loudly hollered that it was on the bottom. Nope. Bartender verified. So, she takes it back to the kitchen and comes back 10 minutes later, and while it has cheese, my fries are gone. It's just a sandwich on a plate. So my boyfriend says "So she sacrifices her fries for correct food?" The bartender said she thought it was weird, too, but not weird enough to make sure it came with the fries. She ended up ordering another side for me, but at that point we were ready to go. That's when the GM came over and told me the original sandwich DID have cheese on it, it just wasn't made properly. Basically called me a liar. That sandwich had no cheese. Crappy management. If you get bad service, it's the GM's fault - he's a total idiot.

My wife and I tried it out last night. The decor was nice and clean. The lighting was a little on the dim side. Seemed like we were in a cave but that may be what they were aiming for. The server was great. Very knowledgable and helpful in answering questions. I got a Founders porter and my wife got a Bloody Mary. The beer was too cold for a dark but I know they why they do it and it is done every where. No demerits for that. The Bloody Mary was terrific. We did not get appetizers. My wife ordered the battered Fish and Chips (waffle fries) and I tried the Sweet and Spicy Reuben. Mine came with regular fries. My sandwich was outstanding. Really good. But that was it. My wife's fries were cooked properly but they tasted like fish. My fries were undercooked to the point that some were still hard on the inside and tasted like fish. And my wife's deep fried fish was cooked right for the batter but the fish was so gooey that it was inedible. We mentioned this to our waiter who said he would tell the manager. The manager "Witt" came to our table and we explained our concerns. He seemed interested in what we had to say. However, he said that the fish they use is grouper not white fish and it is not as flakey as white fish. We told him this was not the problem. We also referenced the taste and quality of the fries. He said they have separate fryers for the fish and shouldn't be using it for fries. He said he would go back and make sure the head cook was aware. I don't generally look for or expect discounts on meals if I don't like some part of it. But my wife ate about 1.5 pieces of her 4 pieces of fish and almost none of her fries. And, I ate almost none of mine. Witt did offer to replace them which we declined since we were done eating at that point. I'm not giving any demerits for this either but I may have added a star if he'd offered Or at least waited for our second meal to review. They have a good thing going in that they have a nice place, good location, good service, and nice drinks. But if they can't get their food straight (basing this off some other reviews too), they will not be around too much longer. I think they need a third party to come in and square away the kitchen.

Support local businesses?? Then this is the place for you!! From Faygo to Traverse City cherries, they have it all!!! Great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including several local craft beers. Dr Pepper Lollipops are a personal fave, the pulled pork is phenomenal!! I try to try something new every time i come in!!

Had Lobster Mac. Only 2 chunks of lobster. The top was baked a little crusty but under that, the melty cheese was great. Not the best beer on tap selection, but it was adequate. Great service.

Great unique food for this area. Twisted chicken was great with a soy based sauce and mashed potatoes. Also tries the calamari appetizer on top of some greens. Great value for the price.

Had never heard of this place before (apparently it is a chain) but I randomly wound up here on a recent business lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The menu was filled with interesting international-flaired Michigan-sourced food items. Not quite trendy farm-to-table bistro, not quite TJI Friday's. Somewhere inbetween. I went with the East Meets West BLT and traded half for half of my co-workers Sweet & Spicy Reuben. We both had a good laugh after placing our order that I had ordered his 2nd choice, and vice-versa. So we figured it best to share. The BLT was pretty good. I appreciated what the Twisted Rooster was trying to accomplish with this one (a sort of Banh Mi meets BLT). It tasted great but the bacon kind of got lost in all the delicious flavorful accoutrements. IMO that was unfortunate and they could have taken this one to the next level by substituting bacon for meaty chunks of pork belly confit. The Reuben, on the other hand, was splendid. It was chock full of all kinds of goodness but the well seasoned pastrami and the spicy red cabbage made the sandwich. The crunch from the crispy noodle slaw was also welcome. I would happily drive all the way back out to Belleville just to eat this Reuben again. I also wound up getting to sample half of a fish taco. It wasn't the best fish taco I've ever eaten but it was better than a fish taco ordered this far away from an ocean has any business being. I particularly enjoyed the beer batter, made with Founder's Pale Ale. They didn't offer a lime wedge with their tacos, which is really a necessity. I would suggest asking for them to bring you some limes from the bar. Overall, they did a good enough job with the fish in the tacos that I kind of want to try their Grouper Sandwich sometime in the future. The bar was fully stocked, interesting cocktail choices, and great local craft beer options. I didn't have a drink as I had to go back to work immediately after lunch. But if I lived closer, this seems like it could be a good place for Happy Hour. Will definitely be back one day, or maybe check out the location in Chesterfield. I can't see myself eating at the Grand Rapids location as there is too much amazing competition in GR compared to Belleville or Chesterfield... where this place is the only place you're likely to find that is actually better than a TJI Fridays.

I wish that I could give this a 3.5 star rating, it's better than a 3, not so outstanding to be a 4. That said, I have eaten here many times. It's smack between my house (Tele and I-94) and my friends in Ypsi Twp. My last visit was on Feb 25, 2015. The Twisted House salad is really good, the twisted mac and cheese and the lobster mac and cheese are pretty tasty, fish and chips is pretty hard to mess up and this was fine. Portions are really decent. Service is always spot on - and on many visits, there is a manager walking the restaurant to ensure that everything is going well. I wish I knew what could be done to make it awesome or worth that half star more.

I just had some of the best lobster macaroni and cheese I've ever had in my life. The amount of food you get for the money is great and the tall drinks are really tall. They had a special on Michigan brewed beers and it looks like they have several of them $3 a pint. They did not have my signature drink " Yukon Jack" but they did have my favorite backup ...that's Red Stag by Jim Beam ... A Kid Rock endorsed drink which is basically cherry infused Jim Beam bourbon and is quite delicious. I drink it with regular Coke but many people say it's the bomb with Cherry Coke. Just 90 seconds north of a 94 on Belleville Road in one of the out lots in front of Meijers. They have a reliable strong wifi signal but I did not need it because my sprint 4G signal was blowing the doors off the place. The fiance reported an ok signal with Verizon 4G.

I had wanted to try this restaurant for quite awhile and I am glad we did. My husband and I met around 5:30 on a Friday and the restaurant was a quite packed (good sign). I found two seats at the bar and found out about their happy hour specials. From 3-6 they have $2 well drinks and $4 appetizers as well as beer specials. I didn't get any appetizers this time, but they have a lot of interesting options. I ended up getting a whiskey and citrus soda and it was good. For dinner I ordered the southwest chicken carbonara pasta. The portion was large and included asparagus, scallions, bacon and chicken in a southwest white sauce. The bartender told me it was spicy. While it was flavorful, I would say it was far from spicy. I would have liked more spice. Overall, it was ok. I wouldn't get it again. My husband had the soda pork chops and said they were fantastic. The sauce was sweet and on the spicy side and they came with a generous portion of mashed potatoes and green beans. I had a few of the green beans and they were fantastic! Prices were reasonable! They have a very interesting menu. I'll visit again!

WONDERFUL, my salmon was just right, cooked flaky & charred um um um... The rice with cranberry was ok.. We all enjoyed our food, a party of 8 all stating we would return with are families, in which I did! & enjoyed it again.. My hard to please husband didn't care for his lobster mac & cheese because he was comparing it to his favorite spot courthouse grill.. But don't listen to him... This is a must try... It my even become ur new bar & grill... Service was average, & reservations timely

I really like the concept behind Twisted Rooster and had the opportunity to eat here with a few friends which allowed me to try a range of what they had to offer. The house mac and cheese is delicious. It's not to be missed. The martinis were potent, to say the least. The pulled pork was good but not great, it definitely lacked the authentic, smoky, succulent deliciousness of true barbecue. The steak was cooked perfectly. They offer "twisted" fare with a range of interesting riffs on classic dishes, like a twisted beef Wellington or soda pop-marinated pork chops, and they pride themselves on offering Michigan-local fare, which is cool. I guess the only downfall is that this place is pretty chain-y and sort of feels like a stepped-up Applebees. Food doesn't have to be pretentious, but this place definitely doesn't cash in on that rustic comfort food experience, either. It's not really a foodie experience, but it's got its own charm and would be great for families, cocktails, or picky eaters, as they truly offer something for everyone.

I'd recommend this restaurant. On my first time in the wife and I had their salmon and pulled pork sandwich. Both were great. Anytime you top food with grilled shrimp and cheese I'll be happy. An added bonus was sitting next to the kitchen where they have a big window that we watched all of the food get prepared. We just moved in from Florida and we found this place in an effort to get away from all of the chains and coney places here in MI.

Service was great and the food was good. As a born Michigander it's easy to get behind their tag line "Commit to the mitt" offering a long list of food items that are grown locally. Will definitely go back.

Wow!! Absolutely delicious! This was a pleasant surprise. I went with no expectations but upon one recommendation. What a nice surprise. Sandwiches priced in the $6-9 range, entrees in the $8-17 range. We had a family of 6, three adults and three kids. We were seated in less than 10 minutes (it was a busy Saturday night). I ordered a soup(Sweet onion) that was a cream based onion soup and it was delicious. I ordered a Spicy Reuben ($9.99) consisting of Pastrami, Spicy Slaw and dressing....delicious! My wife ordered the Chicken Cabonara ($11.99) which was phenomenal!! My mother the Beer Battered fish($13.99). A bit fishy tasting for my liking but my Mom loved it and the batter was good! The kids had Mac & Cheese ($4 each) and it was good. (By the way being a discerning Yelper and looking out for each of you I felt compelled to taste each item...LOL) Sidenote: Another pleasant surprise was the Mixology based bar offerings. If you are a fan of great tasting Mix drinks or Bar Rescue on Spike TV, you know what I am talking about) My wife had a Boston Cooler ($6.95 - 1.5 oz of Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka and the rest Ginger Ale...PHENOMENAL!) My experience was great and so was the food and drinks! Highly recommended!

They are criminals, be careful, I've had dinner by myself at the bar, $19.07 check, I've left 5$ cash tip and paid with the company credit card, I just found out the girl charged my card $ 25.07 so $6 on top of my cash tip, I'm sure since I've copy of the receipt I've signed. Too bad I'm in NC and it's not even worth it to complain, if you're a business traveler stay away from this place.

Disappointed. Came for my birthday lunch... Was so looking forward to it. Ordered appetizers.. Dorito crusted bacon was flavorless, tasted like cardboard. Had fire roasted jalapeño cheese dip, no heat/spice to it at ALL and chips were stale. Only plus was awesome build-your-own Bloody Mary bar

Went to Twisted Rooster with my fiance for the first time. Came as recommendation from a co-worker. The food and appetizers was good but not perfect. We went on a Tuesday when appetizers were $4 for happy hour. Ordered the BBQ chicken quasadilla (pardon my spelling!) and chips with queso dip. Dip was okay; a little too thin...needed some body. The BBQ chicken appetizer was very good and I'd order it again. For dinner, the parmesan crusted white fish with green beans and rice. The fish was a very large serving and quite tasty. The rice was inedible; the grains were very hard and the green beans were ok. Future hubby ordered the fish and chips (in the form of waffle fries). The waffle fries were way too salty. He returned for an order of regular fries w/o salt. They were quite good as well as the fish. Dessert was the twisted chocolate cake - looked much better than it tasted. We prefer warm cake; this was served cold and the frosting was not very good. Had the tasted of bad coffee; not sure what they were going for there. I'd give the service 2-3-stars as well. We had to wait a few minutes before someone came to the table and there was a lengthy wait for our meal. I also had to ask the waitress for a refill of my drink. We may give them another try. Again the food was pretty good; the service needs some work.

We were really happy with this restaurant for the first few visits. I have an allergy to cilantro, and asked if foods served with it could be made without. I was told yes, yet everything came with cilantro - even after being sent back. I was told they offered a plain ranch dressing on their children's menu 4 times (different visits) and got sick after each visit. I thought it must have been something else making me sick. When we returned to celebrate my birthday with friends and family, I asked if they still had plain ranch only to be told they had never carried plain ranch - only cilantro. When I asked the waiter to double check, the manager came over and quite literally lectured me like a child telling me how he had worked there for years and I was obviously mistaken in believing what I had been told. I was then refused a refund for my untouched dinner by the waiter. This place only gets 2 stars because If you don't have food allergies, they are delicious. If you do, I caution you to think twice about trying them - they don't seem to care if you are allergic or not.

I have lived in Belleville for 3 years before we tried the Twisted Rooster and we waited far too long. All the food we have tried has been delicious. Most times I go there I have the hardest time picking because it all looks so good. Their waffle fries nacho appetizer was fantastic but there were only two of us so we filled up fast. We've yet to be disappointed in our order and can't wait to head back again.

Best place to eat in Belleville! They have great happy hour specials and the food is always fresh and tasty. The menu is full of variety with a commitment to michigan products. My personal favorite is the southwest nachos which you can get during happy hour for $4. We went in with a group of four and ordered 4 apps and 5 drinks during happy hour for $30! If you are traveling or in town for business give this place a try!

I wouldn't know how the food is because I left. I left after the rude bartender apparently thought my 1 question about the happy hour specials was just too much. I was also never greeted. I can spend my money elsewhere.

Poor excuse for a restaurant they need to pack it up and leave town first I had the pulled pork sandwich I have better pulled pork from the tub you buy at the markets and those are nothing to write home about the fries where fries that had been cooked earlier in the day a reheated my guess had the fish and chips and the fish was ok the waffle fries where where full of grease and room temperature also ordered the margarita on the rocks tastes like they poured a glass full of sour mix sorry for the bad review drivers has better food

I checked out the Twisted Rooster's menu online before I ventured in so I guess I'm a bit of a stalker. I was pleasantly surprised at the range of food and love the "Commit to the Mitt" local philosophy. I was pleasantly surprised by how cool the restaurant was, decorated very trendy but inviting. The staff promptly greeted us and we were seated right away. I chose the lobster mac and a beer flight, my sugar daddy/man candy/stud muffin chose a burger and beer flight. Both of us were very pleased with the food and service. My lobster mac could have been a bit more lobsterier (yep, I invent food words) but the portion was huge and the sauce was outstanding. My guy loved his burger stating it was one of the best he's had so I'll trust him on this. The beer flight was pretty cheap, $3 for 5 beers. I went with the light Belgian types while he went to the dark side...stouts and more stouts. It was a great way to try a lot of different beers without making a commitment...kind of like dating online. I would certainly go back and recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy Michigan based products.

Good service. Great atmosphere. Great for birthday dinners. Good food, not great. The wife loves her salad, however my "medium" burger was done pretty "well" also gluten free option literally was just no bun. Over all a pretty good place to go. I would recommend.

Not impressed @ all. Been here 3 times & tried 3 different things, all of which I did NOT care for. I've gotten the east meets west BLT, lobster mac & cheese, the twisted salad, & the Kobe sizler steak, which all left me UNDERwhelmed! However, on a positive note, my appetizer (southwest nochos) were okay, my kids really liked it, the place is clean & service is good.
I had the lobster mac and cheese...It was good mac and cheese but not much lobster they had 2 little pieces of lobster that wasn't cooked well and thrown to the side of the bowl to make room for the cheese art that they put in the bowl...not bad but could use some improvement

This place is pretty awesome. Price is reasonable and the food is great. Amazing house salad. The ribs have great flavor. The Duke Wellington is awesome. The Twisted Salmon is flavorful. Monday is $3.50 beer flights (4 5oz. Glasses) not a bad deal. I've been in town for work 4 nights and dinner had been been here for 3 of them. I will likely be back next time as well.

We went on a Friday night around 7:00pm. We had a slight wait (10-15 minutes), and we expected it since it was a Friday and prime dinner time. It was my husband and I, and it was our first time going to this establishment. I had heard about it from friends, and it came highly recommended. My husband ordered the blue cheese tator tots for an appetizer. He said they were ok, he expected them to be a bit more blue cheesy on flavor. He LOVES blue cheese, so he may be a bit harsh in his review of them. As entrees we ordered the Detroit Sirloin and the French dip. My French dip sandwich was excellent, along with the au jus. Sometimes au jus tends to be too salty for my palate, but this was delicious! My husband LOVED the garlic mashed potatoes and the asparagus was cooked perfectly! The steak he said, was average at best. He said he prefers Texas Roadhouse. He was looking forward to tasting the zip sauce, and unfortunately it was on the steak, not on the side for dipping like most steak houses do. He said he couldn't really taste it, and the steak had more of a charcoal flavor from the grill... We also ordered the Carmel Apple bread pudding for dessert. That was INCREDIBLY good and a nice way to end a meal. We found the service good. Our waiter was knowledgable and attentive (Ansell). We would definitely return to try different things on the menu. It was worth the trip!

This place is awesome, we stopped by on the way to DTW. We had a medium rare burger cooked perfectly and an awesome French dip. Excellent happy hour (if I had to complain I would since it ends at 6) with excellent local Michigan beers on tap. The menu is kinda twisted with a unique, fresh spin on most meals!

This is the place to go in Belleville for truly great, upscale food and atmosphere. We have been there many times and have also ordered carryout for special occasions. The ribs are to die for! The lobster mac and cheese is not to be missed. Actually, any of their seafood selections are great. The portions are large: it's truly a challenge to finish any entree they serve. The staff is very attentive, fun and friendly. It's very clean and inviting inside. Sitting at the bar is always fun because everyone says hi: there are no strangers there! If you're looking for somewhere to take a special client or to celebrate a milestone event, I could not recommend this place more.

Would definitely return. We had a fantastic waitress who was extremely personable and helpful. Ate the fish tacos, steak and fried pickles. We wish our stomachs were bigger so we could keep eating!! Yes, it is pricey but being that it's all local Michigan made foods and produce makes it worth it. Commit to the Mitt!

What an awesome place. Great food, desserts and the staff was terrific! Had dinner with a friend during the week and was surprised that they were pretty busy the whole time we were there. Our waitress was very helpful in giving us advice on the menu and drink items. She returned frequently to see if we needed anything and even the management stopped by. Only (personal) issue was that the Pico for the fish tacos had too much onion and was very strong. Otherwise decent portions for the price and the desserts should be shared. I will definitely be back.

This place is awesome. A Michigan theme with pretty local fare. Never had a bad experience here. The waitstaff is always a pleasure and it's cool that a manager always checks in to make sure you enjoyed your food. My best experience was when my Waitress asked me to cut my steak to see if it was cooked the way I ordered it. Love her forever for that.
Twisted rooster is bomb!!!! Everything is made to order and they use all michigan based products. I'm all about supporting locally grown and made products. Not to mention the food is fantastic. My husband and I have been there many times, we always have a great meal. Another thing I really enjoy is that the manager stops by to make sure everything is satisfactory! This happens every single time. Hard to find that now a days. Their food is so unique! Make sure you try maple-sriracha salmon burger, the twisted rooster, fish tacos, and the chicken ramenito!

The food here is wonderful! Super fresh...nothing frozen. I had the mushroom Mac and cheese twice within 2 weeks! Our server went above and beyond "good customer service" (I think her name was Brittany). It's a must try if you are visiting the Detroit Metro area because they showcase MI products! Love it!

We stopped in just for an appetizer so we shared the twisted bacon mac egg rolls. Sounds weird, right? It's a new item that our waiter told us about and it was delicious!!! They are cut open and you can see the twisted mac n cheese, bacon, and it's all inside an egg roll. The cool thing about this place is they get all their ingrediants locally. So if you like to support local farmers and businesses, Twisted Rooster is a good option.

I dunno... I just can't get aboard the Twisted Rooster train. I've been here three times now, each time with Lisa M. who loves this place and can always fill me in on the menu. Service is hit or miss. The food is okay but nothing completely striking - what you'd expect at every other casual restaurant. Burgers, salad, chicken... I do love the idea of really committing to locally sourcing food but if it was truly local maybe the menu would be less standardized and offer some creative options with recent harvests? Makes it hard to believe that things are local when it's always the same. And the Mac 'n Cheese? Yawn.

Garlic mashed potatoes were amazing along with the steak! A little pricey but much worth it. A clean well kept restaurant, a little crowded on the weekends, but worth the waiting time.

I've eaten at this establishment three times, all three times have been above board. Michigan/local, sourced food is the staple of Twisted Rooster. The dinning area is warm and inviting, the servers most of the time provide fast service, pricing is consentient with your Mid level franchise Bar & Grills. A very good place for mid day snack or a family gathering, the food over all is a 7 out of 10.

I'm reluctant to write this review because even THINKING about the pulled pork sandwich triggers my gag reflex. This is the worst pork sandwich I've ever had. Low quality, slimy and disgusting. I've had better sandwiches out of a vending machine. It's my 2nd experience at Twisted Rooster. The first time I has the Sweet and Spicy Rueben which was neither. It was not disgusting like the Pulled Pork, but it was nothing special and certainly not worth the price. I gave the place a 2nd chance because my girlfriend got the Fish Tacos and they were decent. This time around she got the Fish Tacos again. This time they weren't good at all. They tasted old and lacked texture. The Mac n Cheese, which I'm told is their signature dish, is bland. The only thing "twisted" here are the prices. Save some Money and get fast food. Same quality.

Fish tacos and Mac and cheese are delicious :) Fish is deep fried but very tender inside. The coleslaw and creamy sauce compliment the fish very well. Also had the Boston Cooler that other yelpers recommended. Tastes like cream soda. Can't taste the alcohol. Could be deceiving.

Great fast friendly service. One of the wait staff remember our party from our last visit over a month ago. Mac and cheese rocks!

Update: The manager contacted me not long after I posted this review and wanted to make it right. I have not been back, but wanted to let readers know they made every attempt to get in touch and rectify our less-than-good dining experience.

Very good on Customer Service. Every Time I go with my kids I see the owner of the restaurant and he always checks on us and our satisfaction before we leave the restaurant. I always find it very amazing how he can always be there and always make sure everybody is satisfied with their visit. That is as good as it gets in customer service I think - That can't be topped! The food is always very delicious and the happy hour deals are so great that you can spent very little or a reasonable amount of money and leave the place happy and satisfied. Also when arriving with a bigger group with reservations ahead of time is always a joy to organize as we always have a great time and no problems getting in and no problems with separate checks.

Food us good, decent prices. Had lobster Mac and cheese. Little light on the lobster. Had a $3.50 beer flight. Was very good. Had great service too.

I absolutely LOVE this place. An executive chef, fresh local ingredients, dishes that put a spin on the norm.....makes you realize how generic and tasteless other restaurants are. I recommend for the southwest nachos, bbq chicken quesadilla, fish tacos,& Diablo burger. Whether we go as a family with our kids or my husband and I sneak away on a date night. ..it is my favorite place to go!!! Service has always been great and manager is constantly asking each table about their experience....they want return customers and I am glad to oblige!

Unbelievably awesome food food. I always get the southwest nachos and lobster Mac n cheese. They have some awesome cider ale as well, well worth the 25min drive out for the Rooster.

I found this on Yelp while going to the airport. Located just off of I-94, it's a great place to stop for a meal if you're in the area. I ordered the sweet and spicy reuben sandwich. It was large and had a lot of flavor. It came with really good french fries. I also got a side of macaroni and cheese. The macaroni and cheese was incredible. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the cheese was amazing. I don't know if I could eat a whole dish of it, but I want to try. I enjoyed that they like to use a lot of Michigan products in their cooking. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and fast. During the meal the manager walked around to every table to make sure everything was ok. I enjoyed my meal thoroughly and I would gladly return. I'd have to get a side of mac and cheese again. I might be tempted to get the lobster mac and cheese.

The general manager was friendly. The waitress indulged my many questions about the menu and accommodated us nicely even though she was exhausted from a kid rock concert the night before. Nonetheless my buddies burger was exceptional according to him my turkey burger was very delicious... Advise using the apricot yogurt as a dressing very tasty, and both our girls 4 and 11 had a blast creating their personal menu choices.. Absolutely enjoyed the dill accents bloody Mary's as well.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon. Had no wait, which was nice. Our server had our table, a large party, and another two tables. It seemed they were running a 9 server floor on a Saturday night which seems a bit low to me, but she managed. We ordered the salmon spread for an appetizer. It was not as good as I had hoped. I really love Famous Dave's salmon spread and this one did not wow me. The spread was overpowered with the two different types of onions :( I got the Turkey burger for the entree, which came with a cup of fruit. The fruit was not very sweet, maybe they're just buying out of season fruit? I appreciate that they have high chairs and there were a lot of babies so I didn't feel bad having mine along too. The manager greeted our table, but kinda hung around too long, awkwardly. He was talking to my son for like 2 minutes, who obviously can't respond, and then kind of scooted away to run the same schtick at the next table with a baby. I'm sure we'll visit again when we run out of local ideas.

The big draw of Twisted Rooster is apparently the All Michigan ingredients. On the recommendation of another Yelper we stopped in for dinner and was not disappointed. I had the "Bacon, Egg And Cheese Burger" which was a close version of the Royal Red Robin burger. It was very good and I would order it again. The real problem on this particular visit that keeps me from giving it another star was the heat. Granted, it was cold outside, but after a few minutes the heat INSIDE was making you want to go back OUTSIDE to cool down! I would easily recommend it though, especially if you enjoy locally grown foods.

Was informed 15 min after we ordered our meal that the appetizer we ordered ran out how do you run out of a item on your menu at 8 pm on the evening

I'd like to give this 4.5 stars, but that's not in the program. We went there on the advice of a friend once we discovered out original destination was closed on Mondays. The facility was nicely redone since it was an O'Grady's or something like that. I'm glad we went. The drink menu was quite nice and we got there just before Happy Hour ended at 6 PM. Excellent prices and selection. Even the regular prices were less than most other places we frequent. The menu was a bit more unusual than I expected for this place. It was a pleasant surprise. My SO's food was to her satisfaction. My fish and chips, though plentiful, were not nearly the best I've had (hence the 1/2 star deduction). The texture of the fish was no different than the texture of the breading. Tasted OK, though. Service was great. We never had to wait too long for anything. My big complaint about the otherwise fine atmosphere is the two damned screaming kids whose voices pierced my total enjoyment. It makes me want a law passed where nobody under 21 is allowed in a place with a bar. Like that's gonna happen! Anyway, we'll go back, especially when we can get there earlier.

Went here tonight based on a recommendation, and boy I was not disappointed. Started off with the wings, which are good, not great ( preferred the red hot honey over the barbecue sauce). Then for my meal i had the angel hair pasta (bruschetta) which was good, but the food of the night was the dry rub ribs i taste from my girlfriend tonight. Let's just put it like this: tasting one bone turned into me eating a half-rack of ribs. They were on point. Place also has a good liquor selection, and a lot of their food is Michigan product. Overall, i will definitely be coming back again.

Solid local restaurant, and if I were to compare them with the others in this area, I would have to give it five stars. I've been twice so far. Once I had an excellent salad with salmon and Caribbean style dressing. We also had some Michigan spirits, and a great caramel apple bread pudding. The second time I went for lunch. I also had a salad and my colleague had the chicken strips and fries. Everything was well prepared, reasonably quick and priced. I'll be heading back more to watch college basketball.

First time there. Went for lunch. I will go back! Really nice place. Service was amazing. The manager was out and about greeting people and that's always a nice to see! Pretty good beer selection too. Food was spot on. Chopped salad and mac n cheese. Yummmmm!!!

I appreciate the local sourcing of food. So a star for that. Server was good but talked way too fast. Food was average, the burger (diablo, I think) wasn't very spicy the queso was pretty good. Deserts pretty uninteresting

I love the concept of this restaurant -- Michigan/local,sourced food, in a non-pretentious package. This isn't gourmet dining, but the food was good, if a little over prepared. I had the salmon and it had cheese and shrimp on top. The salmon was cooked just right, but a good piece of salmon doesn't need cheese on it. The atmosphere is a little like a Ruby Tuesday-- lots of families, very crowded. But, I'd come here again, the menu was interesting and the servers very pleasant.

Great customer service without being pushy. I never felt like I was being sold something I didn't want. At our table we had 2 burgers, a reuben, and an order of fish and chips. The burgers looked well executed and came with all the appropriate accompaniments. I had the reuben. Homemade "spicy red cabbage and sweet noodle slaw", good pastrami (not corned beef) and salt & pepper fries on the side. Excellent Reuben. My wife had IPA beer-battered fish & chips. You could really taste the hops in the batter. It was served with waffle fries and house made tartar sauce. We need more restaurants like this that focus on using Michigan-sourced ingredients and beers. They do it well and still keep their prices reasonable. 4 of us dined with 2 beers and a coke at the table for 50 dollars. Well Done!

Visited the Twisted Rooster for dinner on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is nice and the place is incredibly clean, well lit, and well decorated. The ball game was on (go tigers!) and that was nice also. They had quite a few televisions visible from many different seated angles. The place is warm. I noticed someone else mentioned this in a review too. I think they crank the heat up way too high on chillier days, because all four of us thought it was a bit too uncomfortably warm. The food was a 4/5, it was good enough to go back, but not "blow your mind" good. Our table of four had no problems with our orders (everything was cooked properly, three of us got the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, and one got the steak.) What really threw the entire experience off and brought it from a 4/5 to a 3/5 was the service. While very friendly it felt inattentive and the food took a really long time to come out. I would give the place a 3.5 if I could. I'll probably be coming back if I'm in the area again, because there's a lot more on the menu to explore and I can't judge the overall service of a place on one experience. Also, while some people commented on the prices, if you go during happy hour (which we did) I found it to be incredibly reasonable. My girlfriend and I shared a bill and we split 10 wings to start, and then split the pulled pork sandwich, they cut it in half for us which was great. Also we got two draft beers each which were on special for $2 each. I had the dirty blonde and liked it. Our bill came out just around $23 and it was more than enough food to feel satisfied.

I've never been disappointed. Not with the host or hostess, not with the waiter or waitress, not with the bartender, not with the prices, not with the selection, not with the portion sizes, not with the overall quality/taste of the food, not with the cleanliness of the dining room or restroom, not with any aspect. Too bad I'm afraid to be seen there after a horrifying blind-date experience. Oy.

I have ate here on numerous occasions and overall my experience has always been good. I am a healthy eater and love their salads and that some/most of their products are local is awesome. My boyfriend has tried a variety of different meals, including the house Mac and cheese. He's had it 3 different times and it's tasted slightly different each time but no complaints. The only menu option he didn't love was the deep friend bacon coated in Doritos chips.

I went to the Twisted Rooster on Saturday evening with a group of 7. We were looking to avoid the downtown Ann Arbor crowd since it was graduation, and I had heard good things about this chain from friends who visit the Grand Rapids restaurant. But our experience was so terrible that I will likely never visit this restaurant again. First, we called ahead for a table of 7 before we even left Ann Arbor. When we got to the restaurant we still had to wait for an hour before being seated. When we ordered our drinks my grandmother ordered a shot of jäger, neat (she's old school German and still thinks jäger is cough medicine) but the bartender mixed it with red bull. This was very disconcerting as my grandmother is on a couple of medications that shouldn't be mixed with caffeine. We the had to wait for another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Be warned -- the orange chicken doesn't have any "glaze" they advertise on the menu. Overall, the food was bland, service was terrible, and when we spoke to the manager about our concerns with my grandmother's drink he was very dismissive. Would not recommend.

I stopped in for lunch with a few friends and was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. The decor is interesting and funky (for a casual dining place), the service was attentive and prompt, and the food (I ordered the Twisted Rooster Salad with Chicken) was great. Compared with their competition, I'd definitely give them a try again.

Ok, I really did not want to have to do this, and honestly for the reasons why I'm doing this, they might even be a three star place. My husband and I love the food, it keeps us coming back. But, the last three times that I have been to Twister Rooster the service has just plain sucked. First, we had to listen to two servers yell at each other over who had which table which made us uncomfortable. Second, apparently refilling your drink is a lost art because we've sat with empty drinks twice now for longer than five minutes. Third, our servers have had this air about them like they would rather be anywhere but there. Now before you go thinking something wrong, my husband and I are the type of people who order drinks, appetizers, and desserts - all upping our bill and for the waitress adding a bigger total for us to tip you on. It's a win-win situation for you. I'm happy and full - you're banking a bigger tip. I used to work in food service, I know some days just suck but three times now? Fake a smile and I won't know that Sally just double sat you. I will be back because honestly I could live on the mac and cheese and campfire cheesecake but if the service is the same I don't know if I'll be able to return after that.

Never a bad meal in our 5 visits. I am not sure why anyone would chose another restaurant for casual fine dining in the B'Ville area. My son (7 years old) has told me that the Mac 'n Cheese is his favorite meal EVER. With that kind if ringing endorsement how can you pass this place by?

I love that the Twisted Rooster is focused on using Michigan products. Their slogan "Commit to the Mitt" is shown throughout their food and drinks. The food here is not amazing but it is good, the Twisted Mac & Cheese has been my favorite so far. They have a drink on their menu called "The Detroit Kid" I loved that and would definitely recommend it! PROS: Everything is Michigan based! Very friendly staff! They have tap takeovers every so often with different brewing companies. CONS: The food is a little pricier than I would like for what you get (if you don't go during one of their specials) TIPS: Here is the reason I gave it 4 stars! They have amazing specials!! I would recommend going on a Wednesday between 3pm-6pm. On Wednesday their "Roo Burgers" are only $3.99 all day and happy hour is from 3pm - 6pm (M-F) where the appetizers are $3 and the drafts and well drinks are $2. You can have a few drinks, appetizers and a really good burger for a great price!

Luckily I didn't have to pay for the menu the food was very BLAH -- it didn't leave me wanting more or even telling a friend about it. Dont get me wrong - the lounge type place was very friendly and clean; since it was during end of lunch hours it wasn't hard to find a table to seat 9 people. The waitress was very nice but she had more of AD&D as well -- towards the end I keep asking for a carry-out and then she started talking then wouldn't bring it (I literally had to ask like 2 or 3 times before I gotten it) The food took a minute but I guess if it came fast then I wouldn't be happy either -- Lol! There were also TV's everywhere -- highly suggest putting something other than the world news on; I had to watch people over seas getting overdosed on drugs (TV was very detailed) - hell even cartoons would be better than that depressing stuff. I might give them a second try but I'm still not paying because I feel the food would see be BLAH (oh I did ask other and they said the same thing -- I'll just have to try another dish or even deserts) **Happy Eating/Reviewing people**

I thought I had already written a review for them but I must have forgotten. This was our second trip to the Twisted Rooster and let me say that they TOTALLY redeemed themselves after our first meal. My husband ordered the salmon and it was SUPER salty. This time he got the Kobe steak and everything on the plate was delicious. Asparagus done right, potatoes...delish! I had fish tacos both times and they were yummy both times. You get three of them so be prepared for a doggie bag. We ordered the Nachos which were amazing. They are made with waffle fries instead of chips and loaded with chicken, a southwest sauce, and pico. We had to pick off the peppers because they are served raw and that's just CRAZY! I am just sorry we waited so long for a second visit.

Wow, This place has become a fairly regular stop. They really fixed the previous crap hole of a spot that was here before. They have a ton of local beers and local themed food which is always cool. The staff is friendly and the food is good. I am a big fan of the smaller salad portions they offer. It may seem silly but they serve a smaller salad which is always just perfect. Not something you see very often.

The first time I visited, I stopped in for a little birthday dinner for myself with my roommate. We grabbed a seat at one of the bar tables since the booths and tables on the dining room floor were full. The bartender was friendly and offered us a few drink selections to get us started. Although I ordered a speciality drink and the wrong one was brought to me, the bartender quickly reserved the mistake. No harm, no foul. I've since been back for happy hours which in my opinion is the best (and only) time to go. You really can't beat their $2 draft beer specials and $3 appetizers. For my meat eating friends, Wednesdays are the nights to go in for $3 burgers. Each time the service is friendly, nothing over the top or brag-worthy. The coupons they send out for birthdays are extra incentive to get my butt over there for a free dessert or free appetizer. The local beer list they have is pretty decent and I can't argue with their wine selection. I give it 3 stars for being a good place in Belleville to head to for Happy Hour or dinner with the parents.

Twisted is awesome. I've gone many times and except for a few hit and miss bad waitresses (which are hardly there any of my other visits. Maybe fired? Idk). The tick and serve to your liking. I love the fish tacos. But I prefer more spice so I get them with pepper jack cheese. Mac n cheese full order is way better than side order. My daughter loves the twisted sauce on just about everything. The dry rub ribs are enjoyable, perfect and delicious. The wet ribs are fun but more like everywhere else (except Slows). The pulled pork is always awesome and so is the Diablo Burger. I've had many things on menu. And taken many folks there when they visit from out of town. If you crave awesome rich sweet chocolate you must try "Camp Fire Cheesecake". Omg a pms dream. Lol. Or great to take home. But the best About this place is EVERYTHING IS FROM MICHIGAN! Cows, sofa/pop etc

It's not often that you see a new restaurant in Belleville... I've been seeing the billboards for Twisted Rooster and want to give it a try. From the moment I saw it, I began to worry. The restaurant is located in a Meijer's parking lot in a building that used to house O'Charlie's (which was abysmal at best). A new menu and a new coat of paint can apparently make a difference though. Twisted Rooster has got the goods. Everything is bursting with fresh flavor. First off... fried pickle spears which were awesome. I prefer the pickle chips, but any fried pickle is a good fried pickle in my book. Next up... we had an assortment of various foods. Bison Burger was huge and lean, my wife's pasta had fresh vegetables, chicken, and a tangy olive oil based sauce that was great. Keeping with my current weight loss program I had a salad. Romaine lettuce, chic peas, Gouda cheese, blackened chicken. (so much for the weight loss). But this salad was very enjoyable... I didn't feel like I'd been ripped off like I do with most salads. Kids meals are cheap. Huge kid burgers, chicken, grilled cheese, and homemade macaroni. $4 each with a drink and a side. I think they are doing it right at the Twisted Rooster. It's refreshing to see a restaurant that breaks the mold for small towns like Belleville. The service was great and the place was packed. They run a simple 1 page food menu and 1 page drink menu but from the looks of it, each dish has been crafted to use as much Michigan product as possible and to really reinvent what is expected out of similar restaurants such as TGI Fridays and Applebee's. I like it... and I'll be sure to go again.

I am editing this because I am hoping the rude 1st visit was a fluke. Heads up though employees, abusing patrons online who review you badly on Yelp is a seriously bad move. Actually stopped in to dine on Saturday May 21st. Interesting enough menu, fabulous server named Mi'chelle and I liked the changes they made to the decor here. Sat in a comfy half booth and were immediately served excellent iced tea (James was sad it was a Diet Coke for him though). We started with an app. We ordered the southwest nachos which are a pile of waffle fries topped with a white queso, tons of grilled chipotle chicken strips, pico de gallo, fresh jalapeno slices, sour cream and cilanto. Delicious. Definitely a good share. For my main I went with the salmon, which was so tasty. Coated in a cilantro, shallot and mustard crust, it is served on top of a parmesan grit cake with a bit of a lemon cream sauce lining the surrounding plate. It did not look nearly as good as it was though. I'd definitely get it again, it was a perfect combo of flavors and textures. The salmon was cooked ideally for me too, crisped a bit on top but still moist inside. My husband ordered the kobe sizzler steak, its eight ounces of tender beef served up with some garlic mashers and grilled asparagus. Thankfully he shared that asparagus willingly because I would have had no qualms about outright stealing it to be honest. I liked his potatoes but his medium ordered steak was cooked a bit too much for my rare to medium rare loving tastebuds to be a good judge. We had to go for dessert when we read they had a brownie stuffed with strawberry cheesecake ice cream. Yes it was as fabu as it sounds. Evil. They need to sell the brownies to go because I doubt we will be hungry enough to eat dessert in again. We really got seriously overstuffed and yet we will never give up apps. Kudos to an attentive manager. She was awesome and genuinely interested in opinions on everything. I wished I had talked to her the first night rather than the man I got. We will be back. Hopefully the happiness will continue.

The Twisted Rooster is a Michigan or locally supplied restaurant that kind of tries too hard. We had the 'chunky" fried pickles, which were a little too chunky. The Flash Fired Calamari, which was a little mushy. And we split an order of Fish Tacos, which were so loaded with fillers that you lost the taste of the fish. I tried the Lobster Bisque and was pretty happy with it. It was nice and creamy and not too strong. The service was good and the restaurant itself was quite nice. I will go back with a special deal and try something else, but otherwise it seems a little pricey and not overly impressive. I can only go 3 starts for this visit. Oh yes, the Iced Tea was very good!

I would definitely give this another go, especially on my way to DTW. Hubs and I were waiting for a flight that was delayed and had dinner here. Although the atmosphere was a little Apple Bee-esk the food was great and we loved the Michigan theme. Some creative combinations on their menu and some nice brew offerings. Give it a go!

This place was a complete surprise. The outside has a very nice modern look, and the decor in the inside is similarly modern and sleek. It reminded me more of something you'd find in a downtown area. The service was great, with our waiter recommending dishes - popular and his personal favorites. The food was very good, starting with the Flash Fried Calamari which was very tender, not rubbery. The garlic buerre blanc sauce it was tossed in was flavorful but light. A bite with calamari, the red bell pepper and a bit of spinach becomes fully flavored as all the elements work together. Next up was the butternut squash soup, which would be amazing in the winter. It was thick, but creamy, and had a taste almost like a baked sweet potato, but richer. My meal was the "Twisted Rooster" sandwich, which was a play on the all-to-common chicken finger pita. The chicken tenders were light, tender, crispy, and not greasy. The jalapeño cheese and sauce on the sandwich all worked well with the thin crispy flatbread. Dessert was a peanut butter jelly tiramisu, which was decadent with peanut butter mousse, two jellies, strawberry coulis, and whipped cream on lady fingers. My mom had the campfire cheesecake, which was a play on a s'more, topped with a toasted marshmallow topping. Perhaps one of the best parts is their pledge to "Commit to the Mitt." they use as many local ingredients from the state of Michigan as possible. Serving Michigan wines, produce, and even Faygo (bottled or in a float.) I haven't been so satisfied with a meal in a while. Highly recommended!

This is one of S.E. Michigan's hidden gems - very fresh food and top notch ingredients make for a delicious outing. We had adult serving of twisted mac and cheese, which was divine. I had the twisted salad - pecans, strawberries, some type of bleu cheese. The kids had kids meals - large portions of mac and cheese with hot dogs inside. Their meals also came with a drink. All of that for $4 a piece! The ambiance is lovely. I could see going here for a date night.

I was wrong. I said it. I wrote a review after they first opened. Not a great review. I have noted the parking lot remains full. We tried it again recently on a Weds nite. Sat at the bar, they have a burger special. It was awesome ( my hubby ordered and I sampled). Smelled so good as soon as we walked in. I ordered the steak, it was good. Nice service, good Michigan beer selection. We'll be back, I was wrong....

Pretty good, pretty inconsistent. Twisted Rooster is another take on "contemporary michigan" cuisine, and it mostly does it in an affordable and approachable way. The menu is inventive and comfortable, with enough choices to make everybody happy. Hi-lights include the salmon, the fish tacos, the burger with added fried egg, the mac and cheese, and the southwestern style salad. Where Twisted Rooster needs some work is in their consistency. Fish tacos can either be generous or stingy. The steak and burger will always come medium well, and seasoning in general can be a bit aggressive. Anyway, I think that there is enough good at the Rooster that we will keep us coming here, and hopefully they can work these issues out.

This is our Friday night place! The atmosphere here is relaxed, yet fun. The service is fast and super friendly! We have tried most items on the menu and have not been disappointed once. The Fish Tacos and the Twisted Mac & Cheese is a must. The BBQ Chicken and Gouda quesadilla is delish. For fancier fare the Twisted Salmon is fantastic! The salads and vegetables are always fresh - must be because The 'Roo commits to buying locally in Michigan. Overall this is a great lunch/dinner destination and would highly recommend giving it a try!

I tried this for the one and only time. The place was crowded--dinnertime Friday night. I went with 4 others, and we had a good time. If I were grading this on food and drinks alone, I would give it a 2-3. I think they are still working out the kinks on the Menu. Two friends tried the turkey burger, and just has looks of confusion throughout their meal...the little they ate of it. I didn't try it, so I can't speak much to that. They didn't finishing them. and didn't try to take them home. We had some drinks. I would say they were okay--not good, certainly not great. The drinks on the menu looked interesting and creative. Each of us had a hard time making up our mind. We ordered and those who got them off the menu complained that they were pretty sweet and not very strong. They weren't exactly gorgeous either. The menu kinda led me to believe they would be. Those of us who ordered our own drinks loved them. I did have the cucumber martini, which was pretty good. It was strong, good booze and tasted like cucumber, so it was weird. I only had a salad for dinner, so it went with it well. I got the salad because it was a smaller thing on the menu, and I really wanted to save room for dessert. It was the iceberg wedge salad, which i had tried before elsewhere, and this was just as good. Some lettuce, tomato, bacon, blue cheese with ranch. Nothing to write home about, but it was good. After all, ranch dressing is good. The part that really stood out was the service. Our server was really good--Marcus. He was busy, but he had a real charm. Good at his job and gave some really honest recommendations! I appreciated that! I am not in a rush to go back, but if friends were going, I wouldn't let it deter me from accompanying them. We ended up having a lot of fun and a few drinks. The manager even came by and chatted with us about how we liked our meals. It was nice!

Twisted Rooster is a great addition to the Belleville area. They offer Michigan themed food and drinks, with a professional wait staff. The RIB's are absolutely killer and the Campfire Cheesecake should be illegal, they are my go too dishes. The side salads are excellent as well. Make sure you check them out if you are in the area.

Here on opening night....busy but minimal wait, excellent service (Paula) , the manager that made the rounds was genuine and gave great insights on the menu. The pickles, house salad and Mac & Cheese were just fantastic! The desserts are HUGE and decadent. The TVs are well placed so you can just watch the game or ignore them totally and have a romantic meal. In short, dynamic customer service, excellent food at a great price, We'll be regulars here!

After a day of yardwork, the last thing I wanted to do was go OUT for dinner, but my husband was starving, the kid hadn't eaten yet, so off I was to get cleaned up. Being that the restaurant was fairly new, I didn't think we'd be able to get in. They were busy, but we got in within 10 minutes. Sweet! We ordered the Fried Pickles. My Husband wanted to eat the Maple Mustard sauce with a spoon. Delicious! Best Fried Pickles we have had.... they are spicy though, fair warning, all those mustard seeds are gonna fire you up! Four people could have shared this appetizer, it was a fair portion. I had a MIM beer, and the Kobe Steak, which was divine, but a little too medium. (should have ordered medium rare) It was just a touch, and the steak still melted in my mouth. (I am always a little unsure how to order, as it seems Medium varies with the restaurant) The mashed potatoes were delicious and the artichokes were flavorful, and tender. My husband had the blackened chicken sandwich, to which he exclaimed OMG at his first bite. Our server was a little overwhelmed, but very friendly, and good. I think as time goes by, the kinks will get worked out. All in all I was extremely pleased, and given that we live a mile away, we will definitely come back. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Stopped in for fathers day with my family I really was hoping this place was going to be good as I heard some mixed reviews But..... it wasn't good at all! Lets start with no bread or salad with your $15 steak? unless you want to pay another $3.00 for each and the steak had no flavor , broccoli was under cooked and not sure what was up with the potatoes. Others in our party felt the same with there dinners, no flavor, bland and PRICEY for what you get. Service was OK but waiter forgot multiple things from our party's orders and by the time he came back we where done eating. Will not be returning.

Went here with a group of people and EVERYONE was happy. My vegetarian girlfriend had the mac and cheese and like it. I had the detroit zip sirloin which they cooked exactly how i ordered it (medium-rare). It was excellent. They also had a pretty good selection of beers. We also had their ice cream stuffed brownie. It was only okay, the brownie's texture was a little off. This place was a good find and I will be back again.

I went on Valentines with no reservation, and was seated in 20 minutes! Which was great, if you would have been seeing how busy they were. Didnt care for the table i was at, but id rather sit at a high-table then wait longer for food. The menu has a great selection! Me and my boyfriend both really enjoyed their food, and reguardless of the busy-ness our waitor still exceeded to our expectations. Love that it is michigan owned, and how they try to incorporate that into everything they do! Wonderful food, with a cool atmosphere.

Awesome Happy Hour!! Fish tacos are fantastic!! $2 pints all day Tuesday including all taps. Awesome bartenders. Only complaint here is there is a very nasty sewer smell that arises every time the bartenders use the dish washer. They are well aware of this problem and don't seem to interested in fixing it??

The Twisted Rooster seemed like a good bet for dinner. My boyfriend had eaten there a few times, and said the food wasn't bad. But at the end of the day, I would say I have mixed reviews. We were greeted quickly when we entered, but the overall seating situation wasn't great and/or comfortable. They initially put us at a table with a long bench and about five or six tables side-by-side. Essentially, your butt was in your dinner neighbors face when you got in, or out of, the seat. The two person table we were given was WAY too small for drinks and plates, so we eventually asked to be moved to a larger table. I know you can't control the number of children attending a restaurant at any given point in time, but there were a lot of children screaming/crying/yelling/screeching throughout our meal. If you're going to be a "family restaurant" maybe you should warn people. Since it's a pretty open dining room, it was very distracting and annoying. For an appetizer, we promptly chose the fire roasted jalapeno cheese dip (we both like spicy food). The chips tasted like they'd been fried in oil that had been around for way too long 9and had a strange aftertaste), and the dip looked (and tasted) like it had been under a heat lamp for a while -- a nice skin had formed on the top. Starving, we sucked it up and mixed the dip. There were hints of Velveeta and diced jalapeno pieces and no spice whatsoever -- we were not impressed. The entrees, on the other hand, were okay. I got the French Dip, and my dinner partner ordered the blackened chicken sandwich. My meal was piping hot, and the crispy onion straws on top were still crisp by the time our food was served. The meat was sliced thin, and the au jus was piping hot. The only complaint I had was the bread. It should have been more sturdy because it completely disintegrated the minute it hit the au jus. The chicken sandwich had some nice spice -- but no real flavor (if that makes sense). But the chicken was juicy and we were each given a decent amount of fries. The service was quick, but the staff was a little too attentive. The manager or our server came by one too many times -- and always mid-bit or mid-sentence. I'm not sure I'd try this place again -- it would probably depend on how hungry I was, and what other dining options I had.

I love the fact that they try to incorporate Michigan grown/produced food and beverages in their menu. All of the beers on tap are from Michigan breweries, which was kind of cool. Although I wasn't too happy to find out that one pint of beer ended up being $5.50. Seemed a little overpriced for me. They've changed the decor a bit from when it was O'Charlies. The bar area is now more open with tall tables instead of the booths. We went around 10pm on Saturday night expecting more of a bar atmosphere but were wrong. Not sure if it was just because it was opening weekend or what, but it was still full of families with young children eating dinner. I ordered the BBQ chicken quesadillas which were definitely different. It was flour tortilla stuffed with chicken, cheese, corn and grilled pineapple with a little bbq sauce drizzled on top. It was good but one of those things that I got sick of very quickly and couldn't end up finishing the whole thing. My significant other ordered a cheeseburger and fries, which was good and a very reasonable $6. Then we shared the brownie sundae for dessert, which was also different, yet good. Not overly sweet or rich. Our service was great, even though our waitress was a little on the weird side. I don't think it's some place I'll seek out to go back to often, just because not a lot on the menu appealed to me. But I'd suggest anyone that's reading this give it a shot for themselves. Food prices are very reasonable and the service was good.

My Husband and I love "Twisted!" The atmosphere has a cool vibe and the food is great! We haven't gotten anything that we weren't "MMMMing" about. My favorite is the Lobster Mac and Cheese. When I am eating healthier, I get the Kobe steak with Grilled Asparagus. My husband loves their Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. We also love that they promote Michigan with their Michigan beers and mostly Michigan ingredients!

I really, really wanted to like this place. Not "love" just "like". Can't find many decent places to eat in Belleville, MI and I really wanted this one to be "it". Sad to say I'm pretty sure we won't be back. The staff is very friendly, therefore the two stars... My wasabi martini tasted like medicine and it was promptly replaced by a straight-up vodka martini. The server usually asks what kind of vodka but not this time... So, I ended up with a pretty cheap vodka martini. Which was ok 'cause she brought me three olives! It's like she knew that I always take three olives with my martinis!! :) Hubby ordered the fresh pasta bruschetta. There's no bruschetta by the way. Just angel hair pasta with tomatoes and basil. The menu says "buttered croutons" but I didn't see any on his plate... He's not picky at all so he kinda resigned himself and eat whatever was in front of him. I got the fried pickles and the fish tacos. I had really, really awesome fried pickles at Pronto in Royal Oak. The batter was thick and crunchy, the pickles had just the right amount of crunch. These ones were just "meh" and they came with a really interesting sweet dip... My fish tacos were literally nothing to write home about. They reminded me of chain restaurant, applebees-type food. I was really, really disappointed to see the supermarket type coleslaw (the kind you get in a bag) on a taco, with some cheese and pieces of battered fried fish. Oh, well... I am still hoping that one day Belleville will have a decent place where you can get a decent plate. Twisted Rooster is definitely not "it".

The bacon egg and cheese burger was freaking delicious. Bun was perfect level of a tiny bit chewy, meat cooked with just enough char, and the the egg was very soft (no fried edges; super soft but not runny). Service was prompt and very friendly even though I wasn't being particularly friendly. 5 stars. Damn fine burger.

Just changed my stars from 5 to 1 because the Manager just lied right to my face. I had an important document I needed to fax and he told me the fax machine they had has not worked for the last 18 months. Low and behold I called them when I got home and asked if I could fax in a large order and was told the fax works going out but doesn't allow you to fax items in. Mr Manager don't EVER lie to your customers!! Especially ones that eat at your restaurant often and ones that use YELP!! Have eaten at Twisted Rooster quite a few times and want to give them a thumbs up. James (bald head) was our waiter and did a great job. had the chicken fingers and although this was a lame choice, I loved them!! then had the choc cookie ice cream sandwich and was a hit too!! Will be back again soon!!

Staying at a hotel in the area, and the hotel van driver said that this place was the best in the area. he was right. I walked to the restauran from my hotel (about 20 minutes) because I had been sitting on an airplane all day and needed fresh air. Easy walk, pretty safe and not complicated to find the restaurant. I had the fish tacos. First rate. The restaurant also pours a number of local beers, which seem to sell pretty well. The waitress (shana but pronounced Shay-na) was quiet but very competent. Went back the next night and had the calamari appetizer and a crispy chicken salad. The calamari was to die for, the salad not so much. The salad was a very creative mix of ingredients, but the taste of the salad never stabilized and each mouthful was different and sometimes weird tasting. Ordered the house salad to go (craisins, apple, cinnamon raisin bread croutons, etc) and it was really good when I ate it for lunch the next day. The place was clean and well decorated, and the staff seemed to enjoy working there. Reasonable prices, and the portions of food were very generous.

Nothing special and I'd rather eat at Applebee's. I've gone here three times to try different meals but disappointed every time - just doesn't really do it for me. The meals I ordered were bland and not memorable. Service was fast and friendly... and they serve MI beers so I gave them two stars. I REALLY wanted to like this place since it's close to where I work. The company but a lot of work into revamping this building (interior and exterior), but maybe they should have paid a little more attention to the food.

All I have to say: fish tacos & the Detroit Kid. That's all my rating is for. I do not care about anything else and if I'm looking for something more I go somewhere else (instead of wasting my time bitching on yelp...come on guys this place is not that bad)

I went to the Twisted Rooster for dinner on a Friday and arrived about 5:45. They have an AMAZING Happy Hour special (2 dollar drafts, 3 dollar appetizers) and the server was kind enough to get us our drinks quickly so that we could take advantage of the special prices. We shared the smoke salmon appetizer. It was good but a bit too salty. I had the fish tacos which were really tasty. My husband had a seafood pasta and he enjoyed it. My mom had the Twisted Rooster sandwich, she also enjoyed her meal. The portions are pretty large. I actually just ate one of the fish tacos and took the other two home. My mom ate half of her sandwich (which was pretty large) and took the other half home. The prices on food were very reasonable. The service was great. The restaurant wasn't slammed busy but it was getting crowded. That didn't really deter from the level of service. They played decent music and had some TVs near the bar for watching sports. We actually tried this restaurant a few months ago and then remembered it as we were planning on where to go for Friday night dinner. Glad we came back and we'll definitely go back again.

I've gotten carryout twice and so far, so good. I really enjoyed the mac and cheese but without all the add-ins. The BBQ Pork sandwich was good. The meat was good quality and not fatty; it could have been a little saucier though. I also thought the chicken sandwich was on the dryer side too; oh well, it's nothing a little "extra side of sauce" request can't handle. I also love their carrot cake. It's nice to have a local place that has great carrot cake so I don't have to drive all the way out to J'Als in Northville when the craving strikes. Also, a real plus for me is that many of their ingredients are Michigan made. I didn't even know that until I read another review on Yelp. I hope that's not just a rumor because, if it's true, it just makes me want to eat there more often :)

I thought this place was pretty nice. Modern restaurant decor and good menu selections. I especially enjoyed the bleu cheese tater tots, very tasty. I had a twisted salad with chicken which was very good. Overall A nice change from the major chains out there.

Exceptional experience at this place. EVERYTHING was delicious and of the utmost quality; from the BBQ Pork and Pineapple quesadilla, to the French Dip, and, above all, the mac and cheese (unanimously among everyone in our party being some of the best we'd ever had) were all fantastic. But it even came down to silly things, like the ranch dressing... every bit of it was extremely well done and bursting with unique and astounding flavor. Top all that off with great service (I would have liked the pre-bussing to start a bit earlier, but whatever) and great prices, and you have one of the best eating experiences I've had in some time.

I like what this place is trying to do, but if you're not looking to challenge your palate, this might not be the place for you. Hopefully the area can step up to the challenge. There are "traditional" options available- the detroit zip sirloin is fairly standard as steaks go, and they have burgers/fish and chips options. On the edgier side is their house salad- containing such items as dried cherries, blue cheese, apples, and cinnamon raisin croutons, it's a little busy- but there is a caesar alternative. The quinoa flatbread is something I wouldn't expect to see on 90%+ menus out there, but it's new and ambitious as a menu item, but probably appreciated by vegetarians. My minor subtractions- the zip sirloin was a little overcooked (more well than medium-well) and the zip sauce seemed to disappear under the mashed potatoes (which were very good). It didn't seem as noisy when we were there recently, but with the large number of waitstaff (possibly still due to the new-ness), there is a lot of movement among the tables and it can feel a little tight at tables in the middle of the seating areas. Again, I like the new approach and am intrigued to see where their menu goes from season to season as they focus on Michigan ingredients- I'm just hopeful the area generates enough traffic from those looking to step out of the restaurant comfort zone to keep business up.

Love this place! We try to come here once every other week or so. Everything on their menu is delicious. I've had the fish tacos, burgers, and salads. The cheese/onion soup is AWESOME! Mark has been our server on more than one occasion and he's good too. The beers and mixed drinks are all Michigan focused too. It's a good place to bring out of town people, or for a game night. Reasonably priced too. Highly recommend!

Came here on opening night, every thing was great. Good service, good food. I had the Ruben, which was awesome, The coleslaw sets it off, which I was told is made fresh. My wife had the shrimp and lobster linguine, It was a bit too oily, but we were told they were working on it. Mac and cheese is pretty good ( not great). Definitely going to be a regular here! Also the local micro brew beers they have is a definite plus.

Bar was out of grapefruit juice, calamari was fair, fire roasted jalapeño cheese dip was good, fish tacos were excellent! Not sure I will venture back, truly the Billboards promoting the restaurant are more appealing than the food.

Love this place. I've been three times and have not been disappointed. I think it's cool that they support local MI markets and their menu adjusts to what's available in the season.First time I went, I got their French Dip sandwich. AWESOME. Second time I got the Turkey burger stuffed with granny smith apples and topped with a slice of brie and bacon. I about died, it was EXCELLENT. That was served with a side of fresh fruit that was actually fresh. Also excellent. Third time, I got their BLT. That was very good too. My husband recently ordered the Kobe steak, and said it was delicious as well. It's not a "romantic" atmosphere, due to the open space and 4-5 hanging TVs (which since it's a small restaurant, you can see all of them at the same time), but my husband and I have enjoyed several very pleasant, fun, delicious dates there! There have also been large families and parties that I've seen there. Service was unremarkable, and that's good. The servers were neither absent or over chatty. Food came fairly quickly. Check out their menu online before you go so you know what to expect!

Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States.

Lobster Mac and cheese. Add some hot sauce and BAM! Best thing ever

Had the fish tacos entree and was pleased. They were very flavorful and had a bit of a kick.

(1)Deborah N.

(3)Rob L.

Great burgers!!! Michigan raised beef!!! Yumm!!!

(4)Christopher D.

(1)Marsha B.
(3)Tim W.
Food was good. The service was ok, typical run you in get you out chain restaurant. The waitress was probably new and didn't seem to know much.
(3)Lanita E.

(2)Miriam S.
(4)Mike H.
Glad i made the trip to Belleville.... Everything was great.... Love that the Chef came to each table to check on the meals
(5)Maria L.
Always great food and great service. I have never had anything disappointing
(5)Ryan T.
(5)Joimel J.
I wouldn't know how the food is because I left. I left after the rude bartender apparently thought my 1 question about the happy hour specials was just too much. I was also never greeted. I can spend my money elsewhere.
(1)Chris J.
(1)Kait G.
(4)Norm S.
Good service. Great atmosphere. Great for birthday dinners. Good food, not great. The wife loves her salad, however my "medium" burger was done pretty "well" also gluten free option literally was just no bun. Over all a pretty good place to go. I would recommend.
(4)James M.

A homegrown casual dining concept featuring locally-grown ingredients, the online menu looked incredibly interesting. It included a mix of familiar American cuisine as well as items that were off the beaten path. The restaurant gets high marks for that. It also gets high marks for cleanliness - the upkeep has been fantastic - and for a well-coached staff. The dining room is quite large, typical of a suburban restaurant. The bar area featured a number of high tops and sits to the left of the restaurant entrance. There was also an abundance of half booths lining the perimeter of the restaurant. Late in the evening, the restaurant was humming with new arrivals, possibly for the 9pm Happy Hour. The mac and cheese egg rolls seemed interesting and different and it was. Crispy egg roll skins were filled with cheesy noodles, flecks of bacon, and sweet peas. Unfortunately, it was rather bland, lacking any discernible seasoning. For the entrée, I had the Soda Pop Pork Lollipops. This dish featured pork shanks, trimmed to look like lollipops and covered with barbecue sauce. A mound of creamy, delicious mashed potatoes and a side of grilled broccoli and sautéed vegetables came with the meal. I liked the creativity of the pork and the unique barbecue sauce. Dessert was a disappointment. The Candied Caramel Apple Bread Pudding was incredibly sweet. Between the caramel sauce and the caramel/cinnamon whipped cream, I definitely had a sugar rush. Despite this, I was impressed by the creativity. When restaurants offer the same items, they tend to blur together and lose any sense of individuality. Twisted Rooster definitely stands out. I will return to try some of their other items - I hope to see this creativity inspire other local restaurants. Before I forget, the waitress was lovely. She could give Disney lessons on happiness and enthusiasm. Given the late hour, you would think that she would be tired or worn down. Nope! She was fantastic and really took care of her guests.
(3)Matt C.
I had the lobster mac and cheese...It was good mac and cheese but not much lobster they had 2 little pieces of lobster that wasn't cooked well and thrown to the side of the bowl to make room for the cheese art that they put in the bowl...not bad but could use some improvement
(3)Ken C.
(5)Michele S.
(4)Scott S.
(5)Amy W.
Our favorite restaurant in the area. Lots of unique dishes, good local beers, and friendly staff. All items are good, have yet to order something we didn't like!
(5)Christina W.
(5)Joey M.
We have been there many times and have never been disappointed.. The food is great and the service is always solid. Great place for date night
(5)Emily F.
(5)Lynden G.
(5)Alexandra D.
(5)Patrick S.
Not a horrible place, maybe just my trip there. When we arrived, it was during dinner time, but the place was not packed by any means. Even so, the hostess(not terribly friendly) sat my fiancé and I right behind a booth full of loud women. Already off to a bad start but I let it go. From there it took about 10 minutes for our waitress to take our drink order. She also didn't seem to halt we were there to help her make money. So after a short wait she came back with our drinks and took our food order. It had slightly become busier in the last 20 minutes but even so the food should not have taken 30minutes to arrive. Also did not see our waitress for the entirety of this time. Only good thing was the lobster mac n cheese I ordered had plenty of lobster and was delicious. So not a terrible experience but I will not be returning.
(2)Karmen C.
(5)Vickie J.
Love it!
(4)Michele M.
(4)Nancy K.
Yawn.
(2)Ambreh K.
Garlic mashed potatoes were amazing along with the steak! A little pricey but much worth it. A clean well kept restaurant, a little crowded on the weekends, but worth the waiting time.
(4)Carlos T.
(3)Matt F.
(1)Wontongirl C.
(5)Rick E.
Great fast friendly service. One of the wait staff remember our party from our last visit over a month ago. Mac and cheese rocks!
(5)Kathleen J.
Update: The manager contacted me not long after I posted this review and wanted to make it right. I have not been back, but wanted to let readers know they made every attempt to get in touch and rectify our less-than-good dining experience.
(2)Rona S.
(5)Glen G.
Food us good, decent prices. Had lobster Mac and cheese. Little light on the lobster. Had a $3.50 beer flight. Was very good. Had great service too.
(4)Jene H.
(5)Rahmon D.
Unbelievably awesome food food. I always get the southwest nachos and lobster Mac n cheese. They have some awesome cider ale as well, well worth the 25min drive out for the Rooster.
(5)Ryan L.
(5)Kylen K.
(5)Crystal R.
(3)David O.
(3)Chris M.
Was informed 15 min after we ordered our meal that the appetizer we ordered ran out how do you run out of a item on your menu at 8 pm on the evening
(2)Michael S.
(4)Daron D.
(4)Christine B.
(3)Christina S.
First time there. Went for lunch. I will go back! Really nice place. Service was amazing. The manager was out and about greeting people and that's always a nice to see! Pretty good beer selection too. Food was spot on. Chopped salad and mac n cheese. Yummmmm!!!
(4)David K.

Well Done!

Unbelievable food & service. Locally grown produce, micro-brew & exquisite Mac n Cheese offerings!!

MI beer selection with $3.5 flights on Sun/Mon, yummy fish tacos and scrumptious mac & cheese. Would stop again!! Great service at the bar.

The Kobe steak was cooked very well as asked! And the atmosphere was great, the the price of food and quality I will definitely be back!

Oy.
(5)Victoria C.
Good food, prices are decent. Good variety

(4)Dawn M.
Great service!! Food was fresh and all from Michigan vendors. I will be back for sure!!

(4)Tim T.
(5)Samantha L.

Tried the diablo burger, extremly tastey!

(3)Kel T.

(3)Angela R.

(4)Christine F.

(4)Karen C.
(4)Liz H.
(3)Dan R.
(5)Tiffany T.

(1)Hymae W.
(4)Katelynn G.
(4)Robert B.
(3)Jacquie T.

(5)Alina H.

OMG this is proof that God still loves Belleville........Awesome food & service. We didn't like our bottle of wine. No big deal they sent over a different one! They could not do enough to make us happy...I am very happy

Good across the board. Though thought there would be more chicken dishes from the name.

Have been there several times...Good food...
