I've been going here for breakfast with many different friends from Grand Rapids for years, everyone likes it. The price is right for the breakfasts are large. I do believe Nicole from NYC finds things to complain about wherever she goes.

Stopped at Mrs. Pete's for breakfast after reading other Yelp reviews and I was completely disappointed. Their menu shows that one of the "must haves" was their stuffed French toast. Trust me, don't waste your money on it. It was awful. My husband had a breakfast skillet and he didn't mind his although the cheese in it was an American single rather than shredded cheese.

Breakfast all day long. Friendly service. One of my grandparents favorites. You can get tator tots, onion rings, or fries. Biscuits and gravy actually made from scratch. Nothing extraordinary but solid country fair with a smile. Good prices too.

I gave this 4 stars because sometimes I happen to know they are not that friendly to folks who do not look like locals. BUT, it's worth going there for the outstanding down-home food. I absolutely love their breakfasts which you can have any time of day. The biscuits and gravy are to die for. OMG.. closest to what I grew up with in Alabama that I've ever found outside that state. Yes, yes, I could cook the eggs myself and yes yes, it's small for the number of people they are seating but it's a folksy and good solid food. I always have breakfast but others have had meals which were as described above.. basically hearty middle america food. Often, really often there are locals... farmers and workers who are a delight for me. I live half the year in LA... so what a relief to see 'real' people with real problems having real conversations. Give it a try.. at least for breakfast. It's good.

We're vacationing in Bellaire from New York City - home of over priced everything. With that said, Mrs. Pete's is charging too much for breakfast. When I ordered hash browns i got what my 18 month old son mistook for noodles. Besides the issues with food and price, I found myself sitting in the middle of the conservative chamber of commerce breakfast rally. The vitriolic sentiment expressed around me clashed sharply with Bellaire tendencies, where people seem delightful and welcoming.
