I work in the area so typically this is a go to location for me. Having been to many locations I would say it isn't necessarily the fastest, but the food is very consistent. I've gotten things from other locations that were questionable as far as being over cooked or under salted. But this location is consistent. Being in the mall I feel like they have a lot more to cope with than locations in strip malls so I usually give them a break. They probably get a lot of people who have never ordered Chipotle and they just stare wide eyed, which really slows it down (and infuriates the lunchtime crowd). I only use the app to order my food now, because my lunch is a set 45 minutes. They have gotten a lot better at taking care of app customers (since we jump to the front of the line, haha). Usually they are well stocked on cutlery and napkins (football game days being the exception). They have their timing down and you will never wait too long for something they have to make.

You know, I love Chipotle's food. I really do. It's reasonably consistent in quality and taste...and boy do I love that cilantro-lime rice. So it pains me a bit to write a negative review--but really it's just for this location. Today I visited during the lunch rush, something I try to avoid. The first worker looked new (at least, I've never seen her), and I placed my usual order with her: double-wrapped burrito, as much white rice as possible, no beans, half steak/half barbacoa. This is the same order I've placed for months, and is actually based on what helpful employees have suggested in the past (the double-wrapped tortilla in particular). I was chatting with my friend whilst in line when the second worker (possibly a manager; I'll refer to her as such) asked what salsa I wanted. Before I had a chance to respond, she looked at my burrito--as did I, for the first time since I placed my order. It was overflowing with rice and meat, and the manager turned to the first worker and said, harshly, "don't EVER do that again," then looked at me and said, "there's only SO MUCH we can put on the burrito, you know." I was flabbergasted and embarrassed to be called out on something that was beyond my control. I looked at the manager, and told her she was being rude--not just to me, but also her colleague--and that I had no control over what they put on my burrito. The manager said she wasn't. The first worker actually said to me, "you asked for lots and lots of rice;" I told her no, I'd specifically asked for what was possible. I repeated to the manager that I thought she was being rude, and when she asked whether I still wanted the burrito, I declined; I will not patronize a restaurant whose employees treat not only the customers but their fellow workers so horribly. It'll be a while before I go back here, if at all. It was already hit-or-miss on service, so perhaps I'll spend a bit more time and drive to the Washtenaw Avenue location...and hope I don't get treated rudely there, too.

Very consistently good, everything tastes fresh. This location is always busy, but they are good about getting everyone through the line quickly. Not the best location because of the mall parking, but worth it.

Delicious as always, love chipotle. Best fast food Mexican ! :-) guacamole is always tasty along with burritos, I always get the shredded beef (Barbacoa).

This place is bad. I'm never patronizing it again. As others have noted, the service is extremely slow. Secondly, the last two visits have been bad and worse. First subpar experience: a week ago they had this nasty looking guacamole. It was very dark like it had been sitting out too long practically grey. Some of the customers (including me) complained but the workers just shrugged it off rather than offering a new batch. Second worse experience: I tried this place today thinking the last episode was unusual. Again slow service and they were out of lettuce. Still no big deal. But then I found a really sharp piece of plastic or bone in my burrito. I could have been injured if I either chewed or swallowed this! I just hope there weren't other pieces that I unknowingly ingested.

The food is pretty standard. Hard to go wrong there. The service on the other hand is another story. It is completely hit or miss depending on which high school student you get serving you. For the most part the service is average. Remember folks this isn't fine dining, so you can't expect a lot. Still a reasonable place to grab a quick bite on a weeknight. If you do order for pick up though, be careful to check your order before you leave. We've had a couple items missing once or twice. Usually a missing guacamole or sour cream is the culprit .

The food is great, but this particular location really needs to be consistent with their burrito sizes! I usually like to load up my burrito, and when my burrito ends up half the size of the guy's behind me, it's not good, especially when I'm hangry!

I hadn't had Chipotle in ages when I decided to stop by for a burrito bowl on my lunch break. Man, was I surprised to see a line literally outside the door when I got there! Needless to say, I ordered online ahead of time before I returned. This location is in a great spot in the mall, though parking is a nightmare at lunchtime. I honestly don't think the line and parking are worth it, so it's probably best that you order online to skip the line! I experienced acceptable service there, but it was never anything to write home about. I suspect it's because of how busy they are. In regards to food, it's typical Chipotle. The first day I went, they were out of guacamole and black beans, but it was a bit after the lunch rush, so I suppose I understand. Chipotle is Chipotle is Chipotle. This location is just a bit busier than most.

Workers here should be drug tested. I stood at the cash register for way too long. Nobody noticed me even though they were 2 feet away. The food prep guy did a great job, but the food tasted like it had been sitting in the pans for a while. I eat chipotle several times per week, and this was the first one where I was disappointed.

This is the slowest chipotle I have ever encountered. If you don't online order its not worth the line.

A better than decent place to get a quick Mexican-like meal. It's fast food, but it taste pretty good. It's not as good as one might get at a sit down style Mexican restaurant, but it can come close. I had a chicken burrito and paid not so much for it. That and a small pop was under $8. They make it right in front of you and quickly. There was not much of a line, but I can't imagine waiting too long. The menu itself is not large, so folks probably can make up their minds fast. Atmosphere is not all that great. Mostly made to be easy to clean with pieces of corrugated metal on the walls. Seating arrangements are not all that comfy, either. It does do what its designed to do though. It fit my needs at the time.

Chipotle is chipotle is chipotle. The line at lunchtime is ridiculous.

Great Fast Casual Dining. Could use more indoor seating during winter months. Lines are a little long during lunch time.

I have always loved Chipotle, but I recently had a bad experience. I don't know what got into me, but I went to their website and wrote to them about the issue I had. Let me tell you, I have reported incidences to a few other businesses with no response, but Chipotle was totally different. Someone from their corporate office called me the same day and let me explain what happened. He was so nice and then sent me some coupons in the mail to make things right. I have never had an issue with Chipotle before or after that one bad experience, but I am comfortable knowing that if anything goes wrong they will have my back and that they value me as a customer. That's a great business ethic and one I will support in return with my business!

This review is solely for THIS location at Briarwood. I adore the food at Chipotle and have already written a glowing review of another location where we used to live! :) Okay, just so you know that, hehe. We've tried this Chipotle about 3 times since we've lived in the area. I've been to MANY Chipotle restaurants since the first time I had it a long time ago, and this one is by far THE WORST. I really would feel bad for someone who's trying it for the first time at this location and who is forced to base the quality of the chain as a whole on their experience here. Each time we've been here, there has been something wrong or off, or our experience has just been not at all close to pleasant. Today, it was that they were out of steak, but no apology was even given. She didn't even seem sorry about it at all. No explanation or hope for any steak in the future. Just, "We're out of steak right now." (And it was only like 3 in the afternoon.) Then she didn't give us the guacamole that she was so adamant about telling us costs extra. Uhhh, we asked for a side, because we knew we were getting chips. Then the girl ringing us up took 17 years to ring us up, and didn't even say thank you or anything. Just handed my husband the receipt and then sat there for an awkwardly long amount of time before telling us to have a good day, without making any kind of eye contact...in fact, I'm not even sure she was talking to us, quite frankly. There were NO clean tables....and this was after standing in line for a good 15-20 minutes to order. I've never waited in line at Chipotle as long as I have at this one. There is just no reason behind it. We've decided that we're not coming back to this Chipotle. I really hope the management is checking in on their Yelp reviews, because something desperately needs to be done about this location and their employees. They just don't seem to give a crap about the customer experience, or even being nice to people. If I didn't love the food so much, I wouldn't have come back after the first lackluster visit. People wanted to be treated like they matter. Customer service really comes down to that simple principle. Treat your customers well. If you don't, they won't come back. No matter how much they crave your guacamole.

Love chipotle but this is the SLOWEST location I've been to in my life. This location SUCKS.

Not a fan of the seasoning on the meat. It seems like they're trying to cover up a bad product with spice. Qdoba is better.

Loving the fresh food at Chipotle! This burrito bowl that's loaded with fresh veggies, sauteed chicken, and tons of cilantroed rice! YUM! This location can be accessed from both inside or outside the Briarwood Mall, in between Macy's and Sears. Outside seating available in summer.

I've eaten here several times, and always carried the vague impression that this Chipotle was a little subpar, but couldn't put my finger on why. Well last night confirmed it for me. I went in for a burrito bowl. The fajita veggies were barely sauteed - they were basically raw onions and peppers. It was only 9 pm (they close at 10) but they were out of hot salsa and seemed to have no intention of making more that evening. And the service was SOOOO SLOOOOOOW. At other Chipotles I've had my burritos comped for missing ingredients or long waits, but this one didn't even acknowledge that they were moving at a snail's pace. There are at least two other Chipotles in Ann Arbor that have provided me with far superior service, so I'll be sticking to them.

Oh yes, FIVE stars for Chipotle! Let me tell you what. I thought Qdoba was good...until Chipotle hit town! This place is AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGG. I mean, life changing. And the fact that this Chipotle opened up in the mall, which is just across the street from my place of employment, is even better! The food here is nothing short of amazing. I could seriously live off of Chipotle. ALL of the ingredients are fresh, never frozen (except for the corn, which is totally fine). And they even buy produce from local farms! The chicken is totally farm-raised and antibiotic free, all of this makes it that much better! Love, LOVE, LOVE this place! Mmmmm I had a chicken burrito bol for lunch!

Chipotle has its fair share of detractors, and in some ways I can see where they're coming from. Yes, the tortillas are not freshly-pressed like other fresh-Mex places. And yeah, whether you get a burrito, salad, bowl, or tacos, they're all going to be drawing from the same pool of about 10 total choices. But that's as far as I'm willing to align with detractors that have some sort of nostalgic attachment to BTB or fellate the San Fran Mission District; this Chipotle in particular is stellar because of its employees. If you make the right moves while ordering, you can snag a meal the size of a baby for $6.31. What separates this Chipotle from others near campus is that the employees are incredibly sincere; they manage to do an incredibly great job without being overzealous, and I can always share a laugh about the asshole in front of me who demands to get their burrito re-wrapped. Best of all, unlike other, more prominent locations, the employees are not misers with meat and other ingredients if you don't make their work harder. So what's the trick to maximizing the size of your meal? Order a burrito bowl. Because employees don't have to worry about how much they have to put into a tortilla, they will pile your bowl high with meat, beans, cheese, and anything else you might want. As a mall employee and full-time student, I can attest that getting a bowl with chicken, rice, both kinds of beans, all of the salsas, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce is the most filling, balanced, and cheapest meal you can find for $6. The best part is you can ask for a tortilla on the side for free, so it's like getting a regular burrito with twice as much inside. Although Chipotle as a chain will never win any "Best Fresh Mex" awards, it wins an award for cheaply sustaining me at least 4 times a week without growing bland. Thanks Chipotle; thanks for watching my back.

I must preface this review by stating that I absolutely HATE to give bad reviews-in my opinion, if you cant accentuate the positive about a place, just don't give them your business. Having said that, I have to report the bad service experience I had at this location on my first visit on 1/16/2011, since it was that bad. I was at the mall because I was having new lenses put into my glasses at Lenscrafters. Needless to say, I was walking around without my glasses, and not able to see that well. I figured I would kill some time by trying Chipotle, which I had passed by many times, and had always wanted to try. When I went in there was no line, and I approached the counter to squint (no glasses!) at the Menu posted above it. A nice enough seeming young man came over and asked what I would like. I explained that I would need a minute (since I had never ordered there before, and was taking in everything they had to offer). A nice lady came in behind me, and seemed to know right off what she wanted. I offered to let her go ahead of me. The guy looked at me and said "Don't you know what you want?! Haven't you been here before? If not, I can explain how it works..." as if I were to incompetent to figure out how to order a taco. I kept my cool. "No, I just need a minute" I said "You can take this ladies order, if she's ready." The lady, obviously grateful, placed her order, and by the time he was done preparing her tacos, I knew what I wanted. I ordered chicken tacos, and as the guy began preparing them he said "Aw, dude, you should have gotten a burrito..." I was pretty sure I wanted the chicken tacos, but I thanked him for his suggestion and offered that I would try them on my next visit. If this had been the extent of my experience, I probably would be returning to try the burrito. Unfortunately, the sassy lady working the cash register was apparently having a bad day, and brought her damage into work with her. She decided to take it out on me. "Will that be all?" she asked dryly, without even looking me in the face. "Yup" I said. "It'll be $6.35..." I pulled some cash out of my pocket, along with all of my change. I had a five, a bunch of singles...I laid $7 on the counter, and began to count the change I had.... .34 cents (!). I spotted a jar on the counter next to the cash register, filled with pennies and nickels. The jar wasn't labeled or anything, and, almost instinctively, I reached in to grab a penny while telling the gal "I've got the .35 cents if I just borrow a penny from your 'take a penny' jar..." SHe exploded! "You cant take money out of there!" Suddenly, it was obvious that it was her tip jar (although, again, not labeled and only filled with pennies). I could feel my face flush, as she snatched the $7 off the counter and began making me change. "I'm so sorry" I said, embarrassed. "I didn't realize it was your tip jar," I pleaded, slipping a couple bucks in to try to smooth things over. SHe handed me my change and I sat down to eat. As I sat eating, It all began to sink in that this gal had bitten my head off in front of everyone for trying to borrow a penny! Considering how few of them she had in her jar, I guess, every one of them counted, but jeez...it seemed like a bit of an over-reaction. And, as it turned out, the chicken tacos weren't that great...maybe the burrito is better, but I'll never know!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
