I have been to cafe marie twice and i have been in love ever since. I have had their salmon and regular benedict and it was yummy both times. I am a huge eggs benedict fan and cafe marie does it very well. What stood out was their potato & cheese avalanche. It is so good with loads of cheese, scallions, ranch sauce and potatoes. SO GOOD I TELL YOU! They have a variety of teas and the earl grey is super rich. I really like the service here too. I never felt rushed for sitting too long. This is plus for me because sometimes, you just want to catch up with your friends at brunch on a Sunday and there is nothing worse than a restaurant that makes you leave after you have paid. This place also has a gorgeous patio that I have yet to try, hopefully i can bring my puppy since she loves brunches with me. Cafe Marie, I will see you again soon!

This place is NOT OPEN at 4pm on Mondays. This is despite what the website says and despite what the notice on the front door says. (Starting Monday, March 3, 2015: Monday - Thursday : 7am - 7pm!) I came a long way for this and was extremely annoyed.

Have been to Cafe Marie multiple times.. Always good food... Sometimes there is a wait for a table. In the summer it is nice in that you can sit indoors our out. They have great options for meat lovers, vegetarians, and everything inbetween. This last time I came I had their eggs, meat, toast and potato special. Everything was great, but I thought the potatoes could have been a little bit more seasoned. They have great sandwiches, salads, breakfast items (eggs, scrambles, frittatas), etc. I love all the coffee and tea drinks they have. Pretty unique! A great place to eat near campus!

I love breakfast but I can be very picky about it. The Cafe Marie does breakfast so well that I am always willing to go there. It is very happy breakfast indeed. You can get a coupon in the entertainment book for a real bargain here. I love that they offer pots of tea here. A rarity outside of a tea room but one very much appreciated by me. I am not a fan of tea bags and when anyone offers a properly brewed loose leaf I am all over it. They have a great variety to boot, including good chai. My father says the coffee is excellent as well but I will never know that as I do not indulge. Basically this is a beverage paradise, they offer juices, smoothies, all the coffee house essentials, including syrups. The food here is just excellent. They have four different Benedicts, my fave is the Salmon Bene. Perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise with excellent smoked salmon on english muffins. Heaven. My mom is a fan of the skillets, which are quite good and come in so many varieties. The South of the Border Omelet is great with chorizo, salsa and sour cream. The Whole Wheat Blueberry Flapjacks are just amazing here. You feel healthier ordering them but they sure do not taste at all like health food. The Eggers are fun, served in flour tortillas and of course I will recommend the salmon one. They are very flexible in here. You can get tomatoes instead of home fries and make special health requests in other areas too. Very nice waitstaff and just lovely atmosphere. If you come on a weekend be prepared to wait. They will take reservations though.

Although this place is situated in a location that has a small parking lot, and can sometimes be packed- I have to say it can definitely be worth the wait. The Cinnamon Spice tea is what I mainly come in here for along with their granola almond pancakes. Also, if I want a fairly decent eggs benedict this becomes a good spot to hit. I have to say they go heavy on egg dishes at this place (i.e., scrambles, skillets, benedicts), so if you're not a fan of the huevo, this may not be your kind of place. Usually I only get breakfast at this place so I can't really comment on the lunch items. And in all my time of coming here, I've never had a complaint with the wait staff. They're always attentive and very friendly. It definitely is busier on the weekends than weekdays, but as I said worth the wait- and most times the wait dies down around 1 pm. So if you're out for a late night and ready to sleep in, I'd try this place.

Avalanche that potato! Wait was a bit long - but I guess it comes with being a popular brunch spot. Located off Plymouth, its right next to the Lucky Kitchen - which is easily spotted off the street. I had the Sunrise sampler and was quite pleased with my meal - even had enough to take home. My friend had the caramel machiato and she downed it so I'm guessing it was quite good. Service was decent, the wait staff didn't bother us much, though we were quite low maintenance. I did have to wait for my whole wheat pancakes - they got that order WRONG so I didn't like to start on my meal without my pancakes - but whatever. It was passed one and i just wanted to eat....

This is a great place for breakfast or lunch. On the north side of town it's a sunny locale and the service is always great. Everything I have had here has been great and it's usually FAST too.
3.5 stars for the food, 4 stars for the service. We got seated/served waters quickly. I appreciated the plate of lemons that came with the waters! I ordered The Moose which was a skillet for just meat, meat, and more meat. It was quite tasty and came with some toast on the side. My sister got the Huevos Hermosos and she totally killed the plate within ten minutes. Service was great - attentive but not overbearing. The location has a crowded parking lot so I would suggest parking the lot close to Wendy's and walking through the plaza.

Cafe Marie was a random choice - we were driving by and it was 8:30 in the morning and we hadn't had breakfast yet. There was only one table with customers. The hostess seated us and our server came, eventually. She apologized profusely for not realizing we were waiting. That's ok, things happen... After all the two of us had just doubled the number of customers. However, her fragrance (cologne/perfume) which would have been pleasant in a social setting was over-powering In a food place. The food was not hot (including us there were 4 people in the restaurant - have they no heat lamps?) The toast was not toasted - it looked like and had the texture of bread that had been painted with melted butter the placed on a cold plate. it seemed expensive for what we had - simple breakfasts - no fancy skillets or "avalanches" - good heavens, oatmeal was $6.79! We had eggs, bacon, and toast. I expected hot food, toasted toast and crispy bacon. Sorry, they didn't have that.

We wanted to try somewhere new for brunch this morning and Cafe Marie fit the bill. I'm used to waiting an hour to get squeezed in to a bar stool for brunch at places by Central Campus, so it was a pleasant surprise to be seated immediately at an adequately sized table here. Our server was pleasant, responsive, and didn't mock my excitement at "Avalanching" my potatoes. The coffee was nice and strong, though I would try the hot chocolate next time after looking at the reviews here. We both ordered the South of the Border Omelettes, which are basically a mild take on Mexican food. I could have taken more spice, but perhaps I'll just order an item with jalapenos next time. Making my side potatoes into "Avalanche Potatoes" (read: ranch seasoning, smothered with cheese) was a delicious and artery clogging choice for the extra $1.79. The food was warm and comforting, but far from healthy--just what I needed after an all-night writing session. The prices were spot on for the quality and quantity. I'll definitely be back.

Went for late breakfast last Sunday. Exciting menu with lots of interesting options. Ordered a spicy skillet dish called The Westgate with chorizo, jalapeno, potato, egg, and cheese. It was delicious. However, my daughters pancakes were not good. They tasted grainy and definitely with too much baking soda. Their bacon is paper thin but somehow crispy. My son's standard breakfast was serviceable. My wife's "gourmet blend" called an eye opener was basically an omelette in a small baking dish but it was overcooked. the eggs were dry and that rendered the meal kinda bland and underwhelming. I wanted to like this place. My meal was very good. But the rest of my family had average to subpar meals. The service was great, however. I'll be going back to give it one more try. Maybe for lunch...

Bad food and poor service. Will not visit this place again! I had my worst meal ever at Cafe Marie. The pancake was bitter and I had a stomachache afterwards. The server was careless. When I ordered the pancake, she took the order without even asking which type I'd like and whether I want regular or wheat. The food was really slow, although there's only two groups of people in there. Very disappointed and will never come back.

We had lunch here with a friend. I got an omelette with fruit and toast, and a large chai. Everything here was fine, as was the service and ambiance. I end up feeling less inspired about (aka not 4 or 5 stars) because it reminded me a lot of the food I make at home. At the same time, it was a perfectly fine lunch at a normal price. So, A-Ok. I wouldn't recommend Cafe Marie to people as one of Ann Arbor's great brunch offerings, but I certainly would be okay to return if invited.

Maybe should be 3 stars but we've had many more good meals here than bad. It was our breakfast place for a long time. At that time it used to be busy but service was generally friendly. It went downhill and service was pretty lousy the last few visits. Portion sizes also seemed to get smaller. The selection for vegetarians is good. The veggie skillet and scramble are pretty flavorful. I used to get the spinach skillet a lot too. The banana pecan flapjacks are pretty standard banana pecan flapjacks. The two eggs side prepared any way you like is a pretty good value. The setting is nice. There is plenty of space and it seems like it has gotten less crowded (it's been empty on a few of my past visits) so there is not as much of a wait. However, even if service is hit or miss the portions definitely need to get a bit bigger. I've had many meals here and felt hungry as soon as I was done.
Chai latte and salmon scramble are a nice way to start your morning! FYI they don't serve lunch items until 11am. The food is pretty good. People talk up the hot chocolate here with good reason. The hot chocolate is very good, but just know that it's very thick and rich. Prices are reasonable for a breakfast place.

My friends and I wanted to meet for brunch over graduation weekend but were afraid of the long lines that the usual hotspots would have, so we settled on a reservation at Cafe Marie. Unfortunately, I was pretty underwhelmed. I don't want to say it was all bad. We sat on the patio which was lovely and the menu is extensive. But the food was just not good. I had the roasted red pepper fritatta but there were only two red peppers in the dish. In fact, it was pretty much just a fried egg white with melted white cheddar. I was also disappointed in the lack of feta it had promised on the menu. You can't tell me something has feta in it and then forget to add the feta. And pretty much no one at my table was into her dish. It also took a while to get the food which was surprising since it wasn't very crowded and our dishes were pretty simple.

We met at Cafe Marie for our annual youth group reunion. I had to do some reading and see what was good at Cafe Marie, as I have never been here. The restaurant is located right across from BP gas station. Parking lot is tight, so be careful. I was the last person to arrive and everyone had water on their table and it took another 10 minutes for the waitress to come by and take our orders. After doing my reading and reviewing the menu, I opted for 'The Moose' skillet. Fast forward 30 minutes and we got our food. I'll have to admit, the service is lacking... when I got my food, it was cold, I think they call it skillet for a reason... as for the taste, I could have made better Moose skillet. I understand that they wanted to bring the food out at the same time, however having it sit around while other dishes are prepared is poor execution on the chef and the wait staff. Now, the place wasn't busy but at least the service could have been better... I agree with some other reviewers, their service needs to be upgraded. I asked for refill on my water, after few minutes, I noticed that others got their water refilled, but mine was still empty... man of man... I didn't say anything as we were leaving. Overall, I can't see myself going back, unless someone can tell me their service improved and/or they get their act together.

The service is absolutely terrible. Clearly did not want us eating here at all. I can understand it being busy bit with only three tables with customers, you'd expect to have a glass of water filled when it's been sitting empty for the whole meal. Also, she brought the check after two minutes of bringing our food. I barely had a bite to eat. The avalanche potatoes that were supposedly good we're not at all. Potatoes were burned and were trying to be covered by too much ranch that it started to making it soggy. The egg beaters that were supposed to be a breakfast burrito were horrible. Definitely not the experience of subjecting myself to come back again.

MMMMMM hot cocoa!!! Yummy!!! Yummy skillet meals!! Oh My goodness...right now..in the middle of this ccccold Michigan Winter...they have these great "special" hot cocoa's here at Cafe Maries! OMGosh...these are yummy and with a lot of whip cream on it too! It really takes the "chill" out of your bones when you are out on these ccccold Michigan days! Take a little "trip" to Ann Arbor, Mi and order the great new "Hot Cocoa"but don't forget all of the other great food on this "town & country" little cafe in the heart of "Wolverine" Country! (Woverines is the name of the Univ. of Mich team mascot!)... They also have great pastries and these wonderful "granola with almond" pancakes that are so yummy and you just have to get extra syrup ! You get a lot of crunch with the soft pancakes and sweet syrup...yummmy! You can get their great cup of coffee or a Carmel Macchiato....capunccino and many other warm drinks! Also they serve several juices and you get a whole pot of tea and your choice of flavors all from a big box of assorted teas! Oh..it's just so much fun! It's a pretty quiet atmosphere and there are windows all around! It's very clean and the people that work here are so nice and so "on top of it all"! Enjoy!!

I'm almost scared to write this, as this is the only good brunch place in Ann Arbor I've found that you can walk in and eat brunch without standing in line forever. But it's also too good not to share. I've been working my way through the menu of veggie items, and after half a dozen visits, I still have many choices left, and everything I've had so far is top notch. One piece of advice, though: always avalanche your potatoes -- homemade buttermilk ranch, potatoes, melted cheese... Yum!

The waiter we had was not helpful and was quit uninterested in being a good waiter. I eat gluten free, the restaurant did not have items marked on their menu nor did they have a gluten free menu, I am generally pretty good at finding something under these circumstances with a little help from the server. Ours was of no help. I ended up with a salad, which is fine, just disappointed that our waiter was not interested in his job or making a generous tip.

I think expectations should be set for those deciding between breakfast places in Ann Arbor... pros: friendly staff, nice atmosphere, large open areas cons: food quality, use of cheap ingredients (not even sure if the scrambled eggs were actual eggs, just tasted rubbery), and their "famous" skillets was served with the shredded cheese barely melted. I think I'd have felt better if the prices were cheaper, but for these prices - there are far better options in town. I'd even rate Denny's higher than this place. However, having said that - if family business and local patronage is your thing - go once and try, it won't be a terrible experience, just a forgetful one.

I stop here just about every time I come to Ann arbor. Love the skillets! There can be a little bit of a wait at times, but it's never bothered me. The food is worth it.

This place COULD be decent but it is ruined by the attitude of the manager. We have visited the restaurant for breakfast twice in the last month. Both times at around 9-10 am on a Saturday. Both times we asked to be seated, both times the hostess (different one on each occasion) took us to a table and left a single sheet "menu". This sheet basically listed the specials for lunch served from 11am. We wanted breakfast, looked around and see people with scrambled eggs etc and figured we were too late. So I sought out the hostess and asked and learned that we were in plenty of time but I still had to ASK her for the full menu. RIDICULOUS! Second time - different hostess, same thing - hunt around until you can find the menu. Both times the food was good exceot this time I chose the "guilt-free, stone ground whole-wheat flapjacks". NASTY as hell. Must have been buckwheat or something, bitter with the texture of sawdust and an old sack. I tried one small bite and left the rest. Waitress asked if I wanted a doggie bag, I explained how nasty it was, suggested that they had used buckwheat or something by mistake. I asked for a second cup of coffee to wash away the taste. That's what she brought me - no apology, no remove it from the bill, no offer of anything else (just my fault I guess). On leaving I commented to the hostess about the menu issue, commenting that Maries of Ann Arbor must be the only restaurant in the universe where the customer has to get up and use their initiative and sleuthing abilities to find a menu. At this point, without even introducing himself as such, the manager came over and stuck his nose in. He smugly added that they weren't the only restaurant in the universe that didn't share their menu freely with customers (I was guessing to myself that perhaps the other was on Uranus). So I said that perhaps he was right, but regardless it was stupid and I would not be back. I suggest avoiding this place until the jerk gets fired or they go out of business because people don't know what to order. Yes we watched others getting the same stupid menu ritual.

We went here with a large group for brunch. That night 3 people fell ill with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea...one of whom was an infant and all of whom were in separate households. The health department should make a visit.

Haven't sampled the lunch menu items, but the breakfast/brunch is fair. Food taste/quality is reasonable, although portion:price ratio is on the lower side compared to similar establishments. Of the things I've tried, the skillets were the most enjoyable. They also have seasonal specials; the pumpkin pancakes last autumn were quite good as well. They do have pretty high capacity, both indoors and on the patio; you can usually get seated quickly even at peak hours.

Overpriced, mediocre food with small portions. The only plus is that it's big and spacious. When my daughter was only a month old, we chose to go there over Northside Grill, which is our usual choice for brunch, because I can easily bring her in in her car seat, which would be a challenge at Northside Grill. However, now that she's old enough to sit in a high chair, I'd drive a couple miles down the street to Northside Grill, where we can get more quality food.

For a quick, good, and wait free brunch place, Cafe Marie is a great place to try! I came here for the first time, about three years ago, on the suggestion of my pastor. I have returned, time and time again, as they serve quality breakfasts (Breakfast is definitely more worth it than going for lunch!). All the egg combinations (which comprise most of their menu) are pretty hearty and filling. Each egg dish usually comes with a side of toast and potatoes, so you're pretty stuffed to your limit. The salmon bene and the seafood bene are definitely my faves as well as the seafood frittata. The huevos hermosas were good....but I just didn't feel like it was anything special for the price I was paying. These egg dishes fill up pretty much your whole plate, and they're your typical egg scramble dish...but it's just good. Not too oily, not too cheesy (if there's cheesy), not too salty... just a good hearty breakfast. However, what's really a staple to Marie's, is their pancakes. You would think, pancakes... are usually just pancakes, although some people tend to change their flour (oooh so exciting.. not!). Interestingly, Cafe Marie, when they term their "fruit" pancakes...instead of it being flavored fruit, there's ACTUAL PIECES OF FRUIT lodged into your pancake. Yes, that's right, pieces of actual fruit in your pancake! The blueberry, strawberry banana, and banana pancakes with whole wheat flour are SO GOOD. I felt healthier as I was biting into pieces of fruit in my pancake. If you're looking for a smaller size portion, my dad, on their most recent visit, actually ordered the baby moose dish off of the kid's menu. It looked pretty good- potatoes, ham, bacon, etc, with scrambled eggs... I was kind of jealous. The cheesecake xangos... are good, if you're a cheesecake fan! They come with some type of apple dish....overall, they're really rich. I'm not a huge cheesecake fan...so... I ate one and was pretty much done, but they're definitely good if you like cheesecake! I've had lunch here once...and got their cherry chicken salad wrap...which was just a wrap. Nothing too great....it was just a wrap. Definitely just go here for breakfast! yum yum.

Two of my friends and I went for brunch. They both ordered chai tea and the sunrise sampler. The waitress discovered that they were out of chai, but then brought out two mini glasses of what remaining chai they had, on the house. I thought this was a nice gesture. Also, one of my friends is a vegetarian, so they substituted the meat with fresh pineapple. Both found the pancakes a bit dry and floury. I ordered the Glass City skillet, which has diced potatoes topped with ham, mushroom, onions, cheese, and two basted eggs. It was pretty good, standard breakfast food.

I'm debating what to say here...I had a pretty good omelette for lunch, while my lunch mate had a really mediocre cherry chicken sandwhich. What was the deal with that thing? He said he could tell the chix was previously frozen, not cool. The tot had the happy face pancake, which had banana slices for eyes! He really enjoyed it. They did have highchairs and actually thought to ask if the tot would like crayons, the answer was a resounding Y-E-S!
Cafe is a very solid choice for breakfast or brunch. It's cheap, it's relatively health, and it tastes good. I usually go for a skillet as they fill you up, and they pre-butter the english muffins, which is awesome. Lunch is not as solid as breakfast, but still good. This is a solid 4 stars.

I feel kinda mean giving this place a 3-star review, because it's higher than that, but it honestly doesn't rank as highly as many breakfast places in town. Very solid though. Good food. Very convenient for those on North Campus.

Cafe Marie is a cute little place for lunch and brunch off Plymouth Road, near the north end of U-M's campus. The best thing about it is the space- it's got a huge front wall of windows, and in good weather, there's shady seating on a brick patio. It's very cute. The wait staff is nice and attentive. The waitress who was washing the windows opened the door for me and greeted me when I first arrived on a recent visit, and another waitress immediately came out to greet and seat me. The offerings are interesting, though they're more upscale (read: expensive) than you might first guess. They have lots of gourmet coffee and espresso drinks, including iced one, and an extensive breakfast menu. They are open until 7 p.m., but they do most of their business as breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The menu offerings are standard things you'd expect for brunch, but with a twist. For instance, they have your standard pancakes and omelets, but they also have unusual offerings like an omelet with smoked salmon and cream cheese or cherry-almond flapjacks. This is not a cheap breakfast diner where you can get eggs and toast for under $5. Plan on spending $10 or more for breakfast once you factor in the tip, and probably around $15 for lunch.

the Brians of this world need to get an attitude adjustment. I know it can be frustrating to not have everything your way. I go to Cafe Marie's at least 2 - 3 times every month. We get the full menu each time. I have yet to order anything that hasn't been great. I appreciate the fact that the ingredients are fresh and there's a great variety of omelettes. I would say that fruit plates and salads are not their forte but everything is wonderful. I love their regular mocha and their iced mocha. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The manager is always welcoming.

Real simple. Just skip this place. Awful. I really can't believe they hold 3 stars. Better breakfast @ McDonalds. However, our Drew Barrymore look-a- like waitress was great. She kind of saved the whole experience from being a COMPLETE disappointment.

4.5 stars for the whole wheat pancakes with bananas in it Minus 2 stars for floaties in my water. Plus 1 star for my waitress for washing my glass 3 times to actually make sure it was clean and floaty free so technically my review should be 3.5 stars Nothing really kills your appetite like seeing a bunch of floaties in your water. But once my pancakes came out the were soo appetizing. I just had to try it. I got the strawberry banana pancakes (whole wheat version). The pancakes were light and fluffy and had pieces of banana in them. They were topped with macerated strawberries. I ate them with whipped cream. And there were delicious. I tried 1 with butter and maple syrup and that was too sweet. I would definitely go back for the pancakes. nice fluffy pillows of heaven.

I like this place. The food is reliable, and the staff is nice. Once they couldn't get the register to work and i had to wait a while. They gave me more than $10 off my bill. Avalanche potatoes are so good that they should be illegal. Home-fried potatoes, smothered in ranch, smothered in cheese. So delicious (even though they don't sound that way), but they are so perfect for a hangover or as a comfort food that you should definitely try them at some point.

Disappointing. My husband can make better breakfast. He had the asparagus omelette "special", which was dry and had two sprigs of asparagus. I had the "eye opener", which was ok, but nothing special. It took about 15-20 min for my husband to get his coffee, and I had to ask again to even get a glass of water. There are far better breakfast places in AA - Northside Grill & Angelo's are just down the street. We won't be going back.

A few friends and I went to Cafe Marie for breakfast. I ordered the chai latte, but they were out of it, so the waitress brought a sampler on the house. It was very nice of her to do that, it was very milky, but the gesture was thoughtful. I had the sunrise breakfast and it was pretty good, the pancakes were a bit too dry. Overall, a pretty good and inexpensive breakfast.

Food is decent but this place just has incompetent management. Saturday morning - 10-20 customers and the same number of staff - but getting your coffee refilled is a crap shoot. We've had on more than one occasion our meals come out one at a time - with the explanation that the kitchen is backed up. Yet, there are only 4 or 5 tables occupied in the whole place. I gave this place half dozen chances to get it right but I think I'm done.

After another breakfast last week at Cafe Marie, i can again say its one of the best breakfast places i've tried in AA. Have eaten and taken guests here a number of times and the quality and combination's are perfect. No, they don't serve the gigantic portions MI breakfast, but concentrate more on quality, which is much more important to me. Coffee is a little weak; and one does have to practically beg for another cup, but i will turn a blind eye and enjoy the food. They offer a number of vegetarian selections to choose from; there is something for everyone here.

Visited Sunday, some of our party ordered lunch, the BQ pork sandwich in apple cider was very good according to my son. My wife said the chicken cherry sandwich was good particularly the bread/bun it was on. I ordered one of their skillets and it was OK at best but served cold which didn't help. Everthing on the menu is about $8. The waitress was good, she brought extra diet coke without even asking.

First time there. Chose it because I was able to make a reservation for 14 at noon on a Sunday. Food was ok. Service was crap. Half the table got their drinks but had no silverware to stir coffee. Had to get up and ask for help. Food did come out together. Potatoes were nothing more than small French fries. Toast was chewy and stale.

Visiting Ann Arbor stopped twice for breakfast here. Nice ambiance, very friendly atmosphere, and staff. The food is pretty good too. Actually very fresh.
I would definitely come back here for breakfast - especially after those avalanche potatoes! The waitress wasn't all that great, but there are a variety of food choices and everyone was pleased :)

My apple-pecan-whatever oatmeal was tasty. Looking around at the other tables, the food seemed pretty solid, if fairly conventional. Bonus: although the place was busy, it wasn't too loud and we could enjoy a quiet brunch.

Cafe Marie may be a chain, I don't know for sure. This one has a pleasant little space, that's minimally decorated and takes advantage of the multiple large windows. It usually has a good waitstaff; in my experience it has a relatively low turnover rate. The food is decent brunch fare with a reasonable variety of offerings. The kitchen seems pretty consistently good.

(3)Diane F.
We've been to Café Marie many times for breakfast( never lunch) . We've always enjoyed their different breakfasts. We received a coupon for lunch so we went. I ordered the classic burger because it was advertised as made with Angus beef from Knights market. I ordered the burger to be cooked medium rare but that is not what I got. It was well done and dry. What a shame. They ruined good quality beef from Knights! My husband had the grilled chicken cherry salad. He said it was okay, nothing special. It's a good thing we had a coupon otherwise lunch would have cost almost $30. Too much for nothing special! I think they should stick to just doing breakfast.
(3)Grace L.

(2)Carol C.
(1)Jessica R.
(3)N P.
(4)Jen Z.
Yay for healthy options and unique, tasty omelettes! Everything else was just kinda "get-'er-done." Super lean breakfast options are provided, plus regular omelettes go easy on grease and salt, too. The skillets looked great, and evidently were super delish. The place was clean, and it was nice to have a window seat. Considering the combination of old customers plus names plaques on the tables, my friend and I both instantly assumed the plaques were some kind of memorials (lol). The plaques did break the ice by inspiring us to make up hypotheses about the names on our table. Seriously, though, it's weird to have names on tables. Maybe have a picture wall instead? Kids menu is fine, but the "Happy Face Pancake" photo has banana eyes, whipped cream hair, a globby smile, and a 3-nostril nose. Even if the owner is intending it to be funny, Its creepiness surpassed any comedic effect. Ho-hum customer service knocked down this score 1 star. I walked in, and stood there for a few minutes while an employee right in front of me cleaned the register counter. No greeting. Her coworker finally greeted me, and she looked up at me, then looked right back down at the counter. No smile, no apology. Wait staff is very blasé, slow on delivering menus and drinks, and pretty inefficient. They both took multiple trips empty-handed and not looking at their tables. As a former waitress, I know that smiles, attention to detail, and efficiency bring customers and big tips. At the very least, smile! Tip for the management: up the ante on customer service, and you'll get more business! Also, remove that creepy kids pancake photo.

(2)Edmond N.

Yum!
(4)Angela R.

(2)Evan N.

(1)Amir G.
We went here with a large group for brunch. That night 3 people fell ill with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea...one of whom was an infant and all of whom were in separate households. The health department should make a visit.
(1)Tony L.
(3)Mary L.
(2)Rachael N.
Definitely just go here for breakfast! yum yum.
(4)Julie C.
(3)emeril l.
(2)Marcus P.
My fiancé and I were in Ann Arbor for a weekend trip, and Cafe Maria was close to our hotel. We tried it on a whim, and we are very glad we did. The service was great; extremely friendly and welcoming. I had the spinach skillet and my fiancé had the vegetarian egger. They were both delicious! Perfect portions and plenty of flavor. A great start to the day.
(5)Benjamin B.
(4)Clayton H.
I feel kinda mean giving this place a 3-star review, because it's higher than that, but it honestly doesn't rank as highly as many breakfast places in town. Very solid though. Good food. Very convenient for those on North Campus.
(3)Sarah R.
(3)S C.
the Brians of this world need to get an attitude adjustment.
(5)Dj M.
Real simple. Just skip this place. Awful. I really can't believe they hold 3 stars. Better breakfast @ McDonalds. However, our Drew Barrymore look-a- like waitress was great. She kind of saved the whole experience from being a COMPLETE disappointment.
(1)Minh N.
(3)Liz H.
(4)Denise Z.
(1)Amy B.
Yum, Yum, Yum. Two words you need to know when going to Cafe Marie: Potatoes Avalanche. You're welcome.
(5)Jennifer L.
By far my favorite breakfast or lunch place in Ann Arbor, MI!
(5)James F.
My family and I have ONLY been going to Cafe Marie for 18 years. It is a special place for us. Great food, professional staff.. even better memories.
(5)Kim C.
(3)Samiya B.
How did i never know this was here? Thanks Yelp! The food was really quite good, the service was nice, a packed house, and a short wait, but well worth it for a lazy sunday brunch. yum!
(4)Michelle B.
(2)Ani B.
(4)Chris R.
I love this place. I wish they were open later. I like to get Brandon's Benny. Overall they are super consistent. And the coffee is good, which is a plus in my book
(5)M. B.
I wanted a place for breakfast that served Whole Wheat Pancakes so we ate at Cafe Marie and I was so pleased! Everything was delicous!! Worth the drive!
(5)Lou S.
(3)Erin H.
(2)Isa B.
Visiting Ann Arbor stopped twice for breakfast here. Nice ambiance, very friendly atmosphere, and staff. The food is pretty good too. Actually very fresh.
(4)Will B.
I wish I didn't live right across Café Marie! It's a great place to eat especially if you just want your typical brunch food. It's never a long wait to get seated and the staff is very friendly. It doesn't have that "diner" look/feel like Angelo's but the food is excellent. I always order the same 2 eggs scrambled, sausage, homefries, toast and coffee... never fails my taste buds!
