Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Warm and cozy, but a good size so several groups can gather and still feel you have your space. It's got a clear restaurant area and bar area so if your wanting to eat you don't feel like it's in a bar. Children would be out of place in the evening. The food is superb! I think some if the best in Alpena. I've eaten here 3 times and it has been excellent each time - and a friendly staff too. The onion rings are to die for. My Stuffed Owl burger tonight was juicy, meaty and big. It's cooked to order so you can order med rare and get it. I've had the fish sandwich before and it was flakey and light. Big TVs adorn the walls with sports playing against adult contemporary music from a good sound system - but not loud. The Owl is one of the few downtown places to eat in the evening. I give it 2 thumbs up

If every other place is closed. This is a bar, trying to be more. Stick to Budweiser, and ring bologna, please? The food is distinctly "meh" -- I had a rubbery burger (clearly Cisco's finest, overcooked) with a foam-rubber bun. Had to ask twice for the lettuce, and the pickles. Really? My companions fared about the same - temperature of food is "tepid-to-scorching" - within the same bite, ingredients aren't fresh, and it's kind of slapped together. It's dark in there. Not, "cozy, warm lamps, cuddle your sweetie" kinda dark. More like, "when will they sign my parole notice?" kinda dark. The tables have a sticky sheen to them suggesting poorly mopped up beer / soda (I fervently hope.) Service is pretty poor, too. Kindly enough people, but as others have suggested, often seem half in the bag (at lunch time??) and of questionable professionalism.

I've been to this restaurant three times now. It's dark and dingy. All three times have been during lunch. After the last time, I decided not to give them my money anymore. I've had the same waitress each time. She is very unprofessional. I expected better since she is older. The last visit she introduced herself to us by telling us she had too much to drink that day. Mind you, this was around noon. I've ordered the tilapia each time. The actual tilapia is so-so, but the spinach and tomato hash they serve with it is very good. Oh, they served the fish under cooked, i.e. raw. It's a shame, I would have come back here just for that hash, but the negatives far outweigh the tastiness of it.

The waitress was rude and barely there....we waited WAY too long for our food. Food was...eh...

My friend and I stopped in looking for a place to have a few beers and watch basketball on a quiet and rainy Saturday afternoon. We found this place and gave it a try, knowing nothing about it. We were both happy. The draft beers were served in frosty mugs and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was pleasant, nothing fancy, but a comfortable pub atmosphere. I enjoyed the sandwich special (Turkey, Pepperjack & Bacon on a ciabatta roll) which was suggested by the attractive server. The beef mushroom soup was excellent. TV viewing was good, and the game we wanted to see was already on when we sat down. This was my first visit to the Alpena area in many years. I hope to get back before long, and will try to make the Owl one of my stops.
