Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Pizza Sam is an Alma tradition, really a rite of passage. I am going to pass on the Alma words of wisdom: double crust baked on a screen. Any Alum can tell you that ordering without those words means a pizza disaster. If you live on campus, you can get delivery, at your own risk! The guy is moderately creepy (that was being VERY nice) and knocking is not something he partakes in. Be prepared. Your Alma experience is not complete without a night (or 12) of Pizza Sam's Pizza. :)

Best pizza place on earth I cannot believe these reviews. I love all pizza period but SAMs is by far the best. The owner can come off as a jerk but you don't go here for atmosphere u go here to get the best pizza you will ever have. Don't listen to the other reviews try it and you will see. There is no place on earth like SAMs you will love it.

Besides always being 10 minutes from the time you order to the time you pick it up, it is not the best pizza by a long shot. Outdated interior and less than warm hospitality leave much to be desired when eating in. It's local history and tradition is what keeps Pizza Sam's alive.

the pizza is programed into my taste buds like my mother's cooking..ham yum...hand cut sausage...quite mild sauce and the toppings do all the talking...i laugh when people talk about sam not being the most friendly..like its brand new..sam is cool..just expect grumpy....the slices come in all sorts of sizes...great for cherry picking the biggest pieces....i was there when a guy got carted out on a stretcher ...then they installed the emergency door....when i was little i use to tug on the handles to the cigarette machine bc they made a cool sound..best pizza EVER....moved out of town and cant find a pizza to make me happy...

I've been coming here for 32 years- it's a staple for my entire family. Even though I've moved states- my parents pick up a pie whenever I come back to the area. Hands down my favorite pizza ever. We generally have the (extra) pepperoni pizza. From the crispy (and thin) crust to the fresh pepperoni and special sauce- I've never found another pizza that compares. In 32 years I've never had anything but the pepperoni pizza- but I'm sure the extensive menu has several other yummy dishes.

Double cheese, double crust baked on a screen! That's really the perfect saying if you come to Pizza Sam's. Kelly B. was absolutely right. :) I have to say that it's probably the best tasting pizza in the town of Alma. My friend and I usually order a medium with the "perfect saying" and we can only consume 2 slices coz their so BIG. The prices here complement the college lifestyle - broke. Sam's pizza provides the perfect sustenance for the hungry students. This place is an Alma tradition... After the Highland Festival 5K run, my friend and I met some of the locals at Sam's. They do this every year... who can blame this, it's a great place to mingle and catch up with the locals.

Love this place, my brother was almost born there and I have had a craving for this place For Over twenty years. I get double crust double ham and mushrooms. simple and magical.

No stars. That's how tasteless this place is. Definitely a local favorite, but it's something you gotta grow up on. 'Bland' is the keyword.

Its clear that some of the reviewers of Pizza Sam are confusing this location with the location in Midland MI. Pizza Sam in Alma is the original and Pizza Sam in Midland was a knock off. Originally P.S. in Midland was owned by the same guy but he sold it and the current owners messed with all the recipes. The pizza from Sam in Alma is by far the best pizza I have ever had. After living in Chicago (known for its pies) for several years I would like to think I have a good understanding of good pizza. Also I am originally from Wisconsin and we know our cheeses. Pizza Sam in Alma has, quite possibly, the finest cheese in all of pizza-dom. This is the kind of pizza I have dreams about, litteraly! I have woken up in a fit of rage because I want to eat it so bad. Maybe I'm crazy but I really love this pie!

My mom worked there many years ago so we visited. Definitely amazing classic pizza. Old and out dated interior but that's part of the history of it. Amazing fresh ingredients and just in general amazing pizza

Pizza Sam's is an institution! Best pizza around, by far. The final product can be inconsistent, but even at their worst they make a fantastic pizza.

On past visits, the pizza has been good, but on our most recent visit we ordered other menu items. I wanted fish, but not a "carb loaded" meal, but the only choice for fish was a fish dinner with several pieces of deep fried breaded fish, potato, bread & butter, & salad. Tons of fat & calories & carbs. Since no choice for broiled, nor a smaller senior size meal, nor kids size meal, tried to buy a single piece of fish and a salad to go with it. They refused to sell me that. So then I just ordered a large salad. What a farce. A pile of lettuce with 4 chunks of tomato. Course I could have gotten a combo salad with olives & pepperoncini in it - come on, how about some regular salad items like mixed greens, carrot shreds, cuke slices, sprinkle of cheese. They did not have a good selection of dressings, no honey mustard, no raspberry vinaigrette. Boyfriend got a ravioli/spaghetti combo plate, which he said was all right, but nothing special. With all the other great eateries in Alma, we'll probably spend our money elsewhere next time.

Pizza SAMs is a rite of passage for any Alma College student/alumni. There are a million ways to order the Za, double crust, baked on the screen, double cut, spices baked in. I recommend that it be baked on the screen for your first try and then venture from there. Crispy, thin and authentic pepperoni with their fluffy wads of ham. There is no bad way to go with a SAMs pizza. Love the fact that the decor has not changed in years. My parents went on their first date here in 80' and it hasn't changed much since. Nostalgic for any Alma College Scot! My style - double crust, baked on the screen. Double pep with a side of homemade ranch.

I paid Pizza Sams a visit the last time I was back home visiting family. It had been over 15 years since I had been there but it crossed my mind and I thought I'd re-live some old memories while at the same time, introduce my fiance to some fabulous pizza. Pizza Sams is an institution, not just in Alma but for the surrounding communities. I grew up about a half hour away and recall my high school boyfriend's mother giving us spending money to go on a date in Alma with the condition that we bring her home a ham pizza from Pizza Sams. During my recent visit I was pleased to see that nothing had changed. Not only did they have the same great pizza but the place looks no different than it did during my childhood. I am told that Sam himself can still be seen working hard. We didn't see him during our visit but his wife was there making sure everything ran smoothly. It is mighty impressive watching the staff at the front working their butts off preparing takeout orders. The phone rings non-stop and they are like a well-oiled machine- pizzas going in the oven, others coming out, boxes assembled at lightening speed. Sam has always been known for running a tight ship and it shows- those employees are putting their heart, soul and sweat into their work. They have other items on the menu. However, with the exception of my grandfather who would always order a steak when we went there, I never see any table order anything except pizza. Smart move- their pizza can't be beat.

Pizza Sams has to be the best pizza anywhere. I've never been able to find pizza anywhere else that compares. I may be a little biased by growing up eating it but still..... I've been to several places around the country but cannot find anything that comes close to it. The crust is perfect, the sauce great and, of course, the pepperoni is the best. The perfect pizza there for me is a Lrg, ham and pepperoni with dbl cheese. Doesn't get any better than that. Since we now live out of state, we will order 8-10 pre-bakes to take back home when we come back to Alma every year or so. It's not very convenient to find a way to haul them back with us but it's worth every bite. Too bad I can't just pack up the restaurant and bring that back with me too. And, every time you go there, the smell walking up to the restaurant is a smell that will flood your mind with memories of the best pizzas you've ever eaten. If they could just bottle that smell. (It was funny the first time we went back to Pizza Sams after moving away. My wife was never a huge fan of Sams, generally she's not a huge pizza fan anyways, but when she took her first bite, she let out this huge mmmmm. Almost like she was in love with it).

The first time I had Pizza Sam's pizza I thought it was disgusting. Then something happened. Possibly a chemical reaction from eating it while drunk. Or maybe if you live in Alma for a period of time and drink the water (or just bathe in it) a craving kicks in. Anyway it goes I have an undying love for pepperoni, baked on a screen with spices and a side of ranch. Post college friends and I will come up with anyway we can to get it including out of the way stops on the way up north. To those not from Alma or not an Alma College student, you are probably not going to get what the big deal is. And I'll tell you what we told our nay saying friend, none Alma friend, "shut your mouth!" Note: You go here for the pizza. I generally forget that they have a menu that includes other items. I have no idea about the quality of any other food here. I also recently discovered there was another Pizza Sam's in Midland. This is not the same restaurant. Beware the pale imitation!

Sam's has been a family favorite for years until tonight. There is really something wrong with service today when the owner looks you in the face and tells you he doesn't care when you voice a concern. You can have the best pizza in the world but after all these years of loyal business and bragging this place to everyone we know, we are DONE with Sam's.
