Three of us went in October 2014 to grab drinks and dinner before a show at the Croswell ("Carrie"). We arrived about an hour and a half before the show and the restaurant was not busy at all (that should have been our first clue since they are right next door to the theater. JR's had been our first choice but people were lined up out the door there). We waited a good five minutes before being seated. The server came about ten minutes later and I asked if there was a drink menu. She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "We have a full bar." I said I meant did they have a specialty martini or seasonal drink menu. Again with the "full bar" answer. That server disappeared and we never saw her again. Someone different came and I asked about a martini...she said, "Oh would you like to see the drink menu?" OMG. The drink menu came and the choices all looked pretty good. Except champagne was MISSPELLED. Seriously??? I had the French 75 and it was okay, except every action was SOOOOO slow and the waitstaff was not attentive at all. I had a hamburger and it was okay. My two companions both had the fish special. (Which the server was unable to answer any questions about it. We really just wanted to know if it was fish and chips and it took 20 questions for the server to understand what we were asking.) The fish looked good and both people said it was very good. The only issue is that it was WAY overpriced for the size of the pieces of fish. There were two small, very thin pieces with a few french fries and it was $12. We eat out a lot and were by no means looking for all you can eat, but the portion was not commensurate with the price. Again, had to flag down the server to get the bill and then to pay. We were almost late to the show. I think the management is trying to provide an upscale experience in a town that doesn't have any options, and the interior IS beautiful, but they are not able to back up their prices with quality food and quality service. I will definitely not go back.

Great looking restaurant. Food was good...what they weren't out of and when we finally got it. Worst service ever. No communication to tell us why our order took 45 minutes to deliver. Not 1 refill on drinks. Not one bill accurate. Arrived 1 1/2hr before the show next door at Croswell, almost late. Had the audacity to include an undeserved gratuity. Not a good choice. How do you stay open? You need to invest in efficiency training. Oh yeah. The mixed drink sucked too!

Service slow. Took fifteen minutes to get an food order in. And twenty minutes to get said food.

The ownership has no clue how to run a business. Terrible service. Rude staff. The food is edible.

Mediocre entrees, indifferent waitress, had to ask multiple times for things that were supposed to come with our meals. Exceptionally slow service even though there weren't that many other people there when we stopped. Food wasn't warm. All in all, an unhappy experience. Probably wouldn't try this restaurant again.

One table of four and me with a seat at the bar but otherwise the early Sunday afternoon was empty. The bartender Missy was friendly and professional. I ordered a salad and wine and both were tasty. The ingredients were fresh and homemade, the first glass of wine was a nice low cost French red, the second a red from a local Lenawee County red and both were good. Overall the wine and beer list was first class. The food menu seemed more like one you'd find in Ann Arbor or Detroit and while the prices were a bit higher that the usual Adrian menu the atmosphere, the service and the ingredients made everything worth it. Hooligans is one of the bright spots in the ongoing revival of downtown Adrian and is worth a visit.

A bit understaffed this evening. Environment is fun, live music and lively guest celebrating birthdays and such. Food: beverages were slow to start; however, the bar was very busy with table requests. Side salad came out promptly and the main dish was not timed correctly. Ordered the desert to go. Staff: extremely friendly. Just feel that they would have less stressed if all members of the team showed for work. The bar staff (we I had eaten) where great. Checked several times how I was (drink suitable as well as check on the entree a few minutes after serving. Yes I would recommend Hooligan's and I will definitely come back.

I stopped in for a late lunch on a week day and only a few other people were sitting at the bar. I love the interior design and set up. It has classy and comfortable character. The service was nice and did a good job. My favorite part of Hooligan's is the vegetarian options! My food was super good. I so appreciate a restaurant that puts time into adding quality vegetarian entrees. So awesome.

I had such high hopes for this place but each time I go back it gets worse. The wine is overpriced for the area. The House is three oaks which I know retails for about 8 bucks a bottle, to charge 8 dollars a glass seems a bit much. My 9 dollar crab cake was burnt and was literally one crab cake on a plate with a to go cup of sauce, no lettuce, no garnish of any kind and to top it off my waiter seemed to have better things to do than to wait on me and was clearly irritated when i asked for a glass of water. Decided not to stay for dinner.

Had the Hooligan burger with everything. The burger was FLAVORLESS! Literally. I thought I was eating tofu? Except tofu has flavor. Disappointed. Cook needs to use at least salt?

Very nice beer and wine selection. Upscale pub/fine dining menu. Decor very comfortable upscale pub environment. Easy parking. Well trained, professional staff. This place will be a regular spot when I'm in Adrian.

Let me preface this review with saying that I was a server for 10 years and I served in both corporate and private restaurants. We were not greeted by anyone at the door and waited about 5 minutes to be seated. After we were seated, I went to the bathroom and told my friend my drink order. When I returned, our drink order had not been taken and we waited about 5 more minutes before our drink order was taken. We waited patiently for our drinks and about 15 minutes later our server came back to tell us that one of the wines we had ordered was not available. Before she left, we ordered our food. That was at 6:37 PM. Our drinks arrived and one hot appetizer arrived shortly after that. 10 minutes later, a cold dip sampler arrived and we ordered another round of drinks and asked for our checks. The drinks took another 10 minutes to arrive. Around 7:25, we still did not have our food so I went to speak with the bartender and then magically, our food arrived. Most of it was cold. I asked to speak with the manager before I paid my bill and when I pointed out that we had waited quite some time and that my food was cold, she said that it was a wrap and that it was supposed to be cold. I then pointed out that my hooli straws were also cold and she rebuttaled with "well, I watched him put them on there." I then pointed out that they were lukewarm at best and she agreed to take the dish off of our bill. We only saw our server about 4 times in an hour and tables that had arrived after us, received their food much earlier than we did. We never received a water refill either. The one shinning moment was the chicken cavattapi, which was great! Rude manager and a slow staff make this restaurant a must miss.

Over 1 hour to get my dinner. 2 people in party; I ordered whitefish and the other person ordered pasta. This is the 2nd time (I always give restaurants a second chance) when it took 45 min to get a simple hamburger. This is too bad because the atmosphere is nice! Unfortunately, they are out of chances for me. I will say that when the food arrived 80 min later, it was delicious and they did discount the bill. Very torn here...good food, good atmosphere, waitresses are attentive...it's the kitchen that is the problem...yet the chef knows how to cook.

Review for Bar Only: I came in for a drink prior to seeing a show at the Opera House. While I wasn't there for a long time, it seemed like a really neat place. My understanding is that it is a newer restaurant. The staff at the bar were extremely friendly and had a nice selection of beers/wines/mixed drinks. They had live music. Didn't see a menu, but based on the ambiance/staff I would come back for lunch or dinner!

I was absolutely floored when I got on Facebook just now and saw a post where the owner (or manager, not sure which) talked publicly about firing an employee. The employee wasn't named, thankfully, but I found the post to be shockingly unprofessional and the sign of management that doesn't respect its employees at all.

Great food, good service accept for the hostess who was not at the door for a while after we arrived and sat people who came in later than us ahead of us without explaining why.

My first visit as they recently opened. Rachel the server was very attentive and friendly.Their beers are primarily Michigan breweries which is plus. Ordered the seared white fish with rice pilaf and vegetables. Very tasty though the portion was a little small as I was quite famished. I ended up ordering an appetizer-Sweet potato fries with honey mustard sauce...yumm. Had a great special on couple of their draft beers so ordered the Founder's Porter, 22 oz for only $1! Ambiance is excellent. They put a lot into renovations. It is a big move up from the old Barley house which had poor service and little good food. Will definitely go back. Rachel indicated they are expanding their menu. For now they have a nice selection of chicken, meats, and fish including a salmon salad. One of my big complaints about many restaurants is when you are not even finished with a meal and they drop off the check. It makes me feel very rushed as I came their to relax. The European style is you ask for the check when you know your ready for it.I asked for the check here so was happy in this regards. I had a bad experience with this at the Clinton Inn and spoke to the owner about it. The next time I came in I had to ask for my check!! I hope that Hooligans is successful. This and the Governor Croswell Tea Room are great additions to downtown Adrian.
