Solid option for Chinese and sushi. Much better quality than East.

It's rare that you find a gluten free Chinese food place, and one that takes it seriously. I had the general tsos chicken (gluten free) and it was amazing! I wish we had a place like this closer to where I lived! Looking forward to our next visit to the area so we can come back.

The food was delicious! The waitress did not speak very good English but we got through it. We would eat there again.

Very good Chinese food in Maine is exceedingly rare. For the dyed-in-the-wool meat-eater to the finicky vegetarian, something excellent awaits you on the menu. The interior was attractive, and light-filled. Even as the sun went down, the warmth persisted. Enjoyed my Yu Hsiang dish with tender scallops, brocolli, and brown rice.

Green Leaves Chinese Restaurant is a casual and cozy Chinese restaurant and lounge located in the Meadowbrook Village Plaza in York. I've been to Green Leaves several times for lunch, dining in and for takeout. The lunch specials come with pork fried rice and are priced $6.95-$7.95. The food here is pretty good including the shrimp lo mein, beef with scallions, and General Tso's chicken. The chicken fingers are hot and crispy (greasy!) and the pork fried rice is decent. The lunch portions are filling, enough for me to finish in one sitting. The service here is very quick. I'm seated very promptly and the server instantly brings me hot tea and water before taking my order. I've received my food in 5-10 minutes or less (both dine-in and takeout) on each visit. The check is brought over to my table shortly after I'm finished eating. The food here is 3.5 stars, rounding up for consistent food and quick service.

Amazing food! Highly recommend the sushi! We the had spicy tuna roll, spider maki roll and yellowtail roll. We also had shrimp fried rice and a pu pu platter...high quality Chinese food. Absolutely delicious! Very reasonably priced as well. Probably the best boneless spare ribs & spicy tuna roll I've ever had! The staff are super friendly and welcoming!

Good chinese food for Maine. Probably one of the better ones in the area. I try to bypass East in Wells because their food is just subpar. If im driving North on 95 into wells, I sometimes call this place for takeout and have a nice meal for when I arrive.

My husband and I have been going to Greenleaves every Friday night for over 10 years! We have so much respect for Andy Wang and his staff. They always make us feel special. The food is so amazing that ill try anything on the menu without even worrying of I will like it. My favorites are the chicken wings (they make them well done for us), the spare ribs on the bone, the chicken won ton soup and the chicken lettuce wrap! But as I said before.. I love everything.. Lol. The sushi- spicy tuna roll is awesome too! If you are in the York area and you are sick of lobster rolls and chowder..stop at Greenleaves.. You won't be disappointed! If it's Friday.. You know where I'll be!!!! Haa haa!

I have always loved the Chinese food but the staff always rushes you to get your order in, eat and leave. They stare at you while you eat. I'd love to come in take me time and enjoy. Not have someone pushing me.

Best Chinese food in the area. We have never sat down to eat but have had takeout. The food was hot and fresh, not reheated like some other places in the area. Service was fine no issues just takeout. They also give plenty of condiments duck sauce, hot mustard etc.... Mostly got appetizers chix fingers, boneless spareribs( fresh and great) egg rolls and Lo Mien( Lo mien was a tad greasy but still tasted good. Finally found a good Chinese place in the area!!

After getting takeout at Greenleaves on New Years Eve and having it be one of the WORST meals of my life, I think we're done with Greenleaves, even though we live less than a mile away. I ordered for a pickup time of 5:30pm and got there right at 5:30pm. The food was ready, I paid and left. Got it home and it was DISGUSTING. Everything was ice cold. Because NYE is such a popular night for Chinese, I knew they were busy, but don't take more orders than you can handle if you have to sacrifice quality. I know we weren't the only ones because other local friends wrote on their Facebook about picking up NYE dinner at Greenleaves and having it be disgusting to the point that they couldn't eat it. China Bistro opened up down the street and has pretty great reviews. We're going to give them a try.

Sorry to say that our favorite Chinese place is off our list. Don't know who is cooking but today was awful. The beef (?) and broccoli (did not know what the meat was) and the chicken (?) and broccoli were slimy. Rice was tasteless and chicken fingers were over-battered and doughy. Just not a good day at Greenleaves. Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

Absolutely awesome. Not only does this place have excellent and friendly staff but the food was really fantastic. Some of the best chinese I've had especially since they use water chestnut flour for some dishes for the breading, so dishes like General Tsos are gluten free. I was worried about water chestnuts being nuts, but learned their more of a root like potatoes so there's no nuts. Was worried to double check about no nuts (for allergen concerns) with the staff due to a potential language barrier but they made me us very comfortable. Their website is on point, they're very dedicated to gluten free dining, so appreciative of this! Of course, it's important to double check based on your own allergen concerns but they did a great job for us. Again, super friendly staff, really great Chinese food. Our whole group loved everything. The decor might be a little dated inside, but the place is clean and the food was great! Definitely will be back.

We visited Maine and stayed in Wells at the Holiday Guest House Bed & Breakfast (great place). Anyway, on our drive back to Boston, Logan, we stopped at the Meadowbrook strip mall in York, Maine and found a Chinese restaurant called Green Leaves or Greenleaves (don't know for sure) but we had a PuPu platter that was outstanding. Food was not greasy, like some other Chinese restaurants we've dined at. We decided to give the Sushi a try, and my boyfriend, Roger, said it was outstanding. I am not a Sushi person so I will have to go by what he said. Nice to know that when we visit Maine next year we will have this little gem to look forward to. Nice!!!

This place is a disaster. Waited 90 minutes for one order! Food is pretty good, but operationally they really struggled, at least on the night we used them.

This place has great food, however the service was awful. After waiting an hour for take out, They forgot a part of the order. When we returned to pick it up, the manager accused us of not paying for the few drinks we had while waiting. We certainly had paid the bill. He was loud and very inappropriate in his accusations. After producing the slip to show we paid, we took the food he has forgotten to pack and left without an apology. We won't be returning. Food was good, but I prefer to spend my money where I will get treated properly.

Great food - almost every shrimp dish that we've tried their is delicious. Singapore chow mei fun curry is great. Lettuce wraps have great chicken, but not so great lettuce. If only the servers didnt try to rush you out of their restaurant occasionally, they would've got 5 stars in my book

Very, very good, but have found another Chinese restaurant in town with more options, more reasonable prices, larger portions and very, very good food as well. So, in other words, great food, but you'll pay extra for less food than you need to.

They are one of two Chinese restaurants open year round. I alway order the lunch special and today when I called in, the guy on the phone tried to play dumb with me and asked if I wanted the full dinner and rice. I said the lunch special. I'm sick with a cold, so when I got there and it was $32 instead of less than $20, I didn't want to argue. If there is a next time, I will make a fuss if they screw it up again. Also, any time we ate in the restaurant, they hover over your table trying to rush you, which is why we do takeout now. It's too bad, because their food is good.

Greenleaves is my favorite Chinese place in town. My family and I have been coming here since I was a kid. Great food and friendly service. The new expansion upstairs near the bar is very nice, and I believe they have a Sushi bar now! (I know, weird, right?) (The bar side has a TV but the normal dining room where you walk in does not).

Wow. Everyone in town tells me it is great. My fellow reviewers tell me they love it. Am I going to the right place? Do they reserve the worst for me? All I taste is soy sauce and sugar with a generous side of grease. The atmosphere, the service, the food, the smell of the carpet...ugh.

My Chinese restaurant test order is scallion pancakes -- and the scallion pancakes at Greenleaves in York are KICKASS. Crispy and chewy at the same time (how DO they do that?) they knocked my socks off. The menu is huge and varied -- I bet if you have a Chinese-food favorite, you'll find it here. The prices are on the high side, but the portions are large (half at the restaurant and half for leftovers left me stomach-stretchingly full). And the service is friendly and lightning-fast. Would I go again? You betcha!

As far as Americanized Chinese food is concerned, this is hands-down the best I've ever had. Though I haven't tried everything on the menu, I can say without any doubt that you can order anything here and it will be good. The menu itself is a little daunting, since there are so many options. I have a few favorites that I order every time: Egg Drop Soup, House Special Fried Rice, Kung Pao Chicken, or Moo Shi Style Chicken. The Egg Drop soup is a little different from your typical yellow-eggy broth. It's more of a chicken/cornstarch stock with egg, mushrooms, and peapods. An awesome way to kick off the meal. The House Special Fried Rice is also a little different from typical fried rice. It's lighter--it doesn't feel as unhealthy as other fried rice I've had--and the taste is just right. A great combination of tender chicken, pork, and shrimp with rice. The Kung Pao Chicken was something I ordered my first time there, since it was one of the Chinese dishes I was most familiar with. It's also the best I've ever had--including those from Chinatown in Boston and D.C. I mostly attribute this to their sauces. It's the perfect combination of sweet and spicy, complemented by tender chicken and tons of veggies and peanuts. The Moo Shi Style Chicken was a dish I ordered in an attempt to switch it up from my regular order of Kung Pao Chicken. For those that don't know, it's a combination of tender chicken and savory exotic veggies scrambled together, served with 5 "pancakes." I put this in quotes, because they're more like slightly-fluffy tortillas than traditional pancakes. And it comes with a side of sesame sauce to add, which really caps off the dish. It's epically delicious. Most of the time I get full by the third pancake, but force the rest down, because it's so tasty. All of the dishes there are pretty affordable--ranging from around $5-12 for most things--and given the portions, there's generally two sittings worth of food. Having moved away from New England, it's probably the one restaurant I miss the most. So, if you have the opportunity, go. If not for yourself, then for me.

The best house rice ever.. everthing was great except chicken tenders on a stick were over cooked.

This is some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Their portions are quite sizable -- you can get away with a lunch portion in two sittings if you stretch it. Their dinner portions are more than ample. The taste is on par with what you would expect from an American Chinese food restaurant. They are not an authentic Chinese experience to be sure; however, they are able to blend in a nice variety of spices which enhance their dishes. Although when I requested that the put a lot of punch into some of their spicy dishes, they just don't have the edge of say your run-of-the-mill Thai restaurant. I give this restaurant four stars for their speed (10 minutes for pretty much anything 2-4 people could order), taste, portion size, and atmosphere if you do decide to eat in. Also, their packaging is flawless! I have never seen such attention to detail. Nothing ever leaks, and it is always packaged with the appropriate amount of utensils and sauces.

Best Chinese food!!!! If you love this restaurant but are not in York, the same people run Maple Leaves in Wells and Red Leaves in Berwick!
