Is there suddenly a shortage of shrimp and clams in the state of Maine? I stared at the Rustler's menu for a good 20 minutes and couldn't find a single dish served on Saturday night that included either of these items. I understand Rustlers is technically a steakhouse, but c'mon folks, we're in Maine. I'm a die-hard seafood person while my husband is a steak and burger guy. Most steakhouses we've been to offer at least one shrimp or clam dish or a surf and turf option that uses one of those ingredients. Honestly, the complete lack of those items on the menu make it pretty unlikely that my husband and I will return to this place, even though the food we did order was decent. I thought the service was good. We were seated immediately. The food came out quickly and my toddler's chicken fingers were good. I actually love the batter they use on the chicken fingers. It reminded me of being a kid and eating at the old school seafood places down in Old Orchard. Yum! My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger and said it's the best one he's ever had at a restaurant.I got the seafood (ie scallop and fish) chowder and honestly was not a fan. It tasted like a bottle of white wine had been dumped in it and It was way too boozy... completely lacking that buttery richness one looks for in a chowder. I think the wine could work in a seafood chowder, just in a much smaller volume :) The bread they put on the table was awesome and possibly even homemade??? I also love that they use Cabot butter with the rolls. Yum!!!

Don't get between a girl and her beef. I was in the mood for some steak and ended up with a 12 oz. Wrangler Prime Rib and I have to say Rustler's did not disappoint. It was served with a baked potato, a salad, and a side of green beans. My husband had the blackened scallops and he enjoyed it very much too. We sat on the outside patio and had no problem being seated and having prompt service. It was overall a nice evening out. Kudos to a local restaurant in our vacationland town of Windham!

Not a good experience. Too much fat on the Prime Rib. Brussels Sprouts as the vegetable of the day. The Service was ok, but overall the experience was a let down. Not going back.

Congratulations to the folks at the newly opened Rustler's Steakhouse in North Windham, Maine, replacing former local landmark and longtime local favorite Charlie Beiggs. The place was packed on opening night, and both the food and service was first-rate! Rustler's is apparently connected to the Windham Butcher Shop, and will specialize in locally grown beef and seafood. Good luck to you - we'll be back!

Rustler's is a solid steakhouse in the Windham area. When they first opened they carried some really unique meats like bison, and elk maybe. Those offerings have not continued to date. But the menu items they carry they do very well. They have 12 beers on tap. 2-4 I would consider micro-brews. I would encourage Rustler's to bring back unique offerings and challenge them to get more local or "craft" with their tap list. Rustler's deserves a ton of credit for the special dinners and events they try to draw us in. They also offer space for private events. The wagon wheel sampler will not disappoint. Burgers to steaks you'll be pleased! I really like their sweet potato fries. Thursday's seem to be BBQ plate, I have plan for that.

Over the last year the quality has been declining. I came in for lunch today and ordered a basic cheeseburger. The patty was the same quality as a bubba burger you can buy at wal-mart grocery. My wife's steak was thin, tough and fatty. Baked Potato was small, dry and lacked any luster. When Rustlers first opened it was a good value for the money. My last 3-times here has proven otherwise.

The service was 5 star. We sat at the bar (wanted to watch the Pats game). The food? BLAH! The entree that is, my steak tips were grisly and just not tasty (the garlic mushroom sauce was). My sister's NY strip steak was good. Maybe she'll leave a better review? Garlic Parm chicken wings for the app, very good. BIG. Beer was fresh and tasty. But I came here for STEAK. Parking can get tight.

I have been going to Rustlers since they opened. We usually sit at the bar and get good service. They know what I like to drink and are on top of things. Last night I went with my husband and a few friends. The bar was full so we sat in the dining area. I have never in my life been treated so horribly at a dining establishment. My dirty martini was a straight up vodka martini...I then had to ask twice for olive juice and received an attitude from our server. I do not eat fried food and my group wanted the wagonwheel sampler (all fried) so I ordered the french onion soup and a salad. Well it all arrived together with everyone's meals. I made a comment that I wanted the soup first and she responded by telling me that since we had an appetizer she didnt think I needed it then. ok fine thats not what I said but ok I understand mistakes happen. Then the manager huffs her way over and greets me by saying "So I hear you are being pretty boisterous with your complaining over here..." um are you serious? ok this is where you want to take it. I reply nicely and say that i didnt complain when my drink was wrong..she cut me off by saying "well it looks pretty dirty to me" I then had to explain that I had to ask numerous times for olive juice and dirty it myself at the table. She then says she will take it off and acts like all I wanted was a free meal. No I will gladly pay for (and still tip your rude waitress) but I will NEVER set foot in this establishment even if was the last restaurant in Windham. They did take off my dinner but I couldn't even eat it after that experience. If you really want steak try Buck's and DeSantos blows this place out of the water all around and the staff is actually friendly.

Overall, Rustler's is a nice steakhouse in the North Windham area. A welcome addition. We went with a fairly large group (9) and that caused some hiccups. We expected to wait a bit, but not long as we went late. The waiting time estimate proved low and the hostess finally asked if we were OK with splitting our party into two tables and sitting right away. We agreed to do that. After waiting 10 more minutes for them to set up tables we saw several open tables, suggested they move them together, and we were then seated as one large group. Not clear why they didn't figure that out themselves or kept us waiting. Once seated things were better. Service was reasonably quick with food coming out after only a short wait. The steaks were pretty good, perhaps over seasoned a bit (too much salt). Veggies were smothered in butter. As an aside, the have A-1 steak sauce on the table which is a no-no for a restaurant featuring good steaks. One additional minor nit. When presented with the bill there was already a service charge applied. Given the size of the group that was expected, but the service charge was a full 20%. When there is an auto-charge 18% is more appropriate. Yes, minor.

A 20oz porterhouse for 22.95 with side, a premeal salad, and roll for 22.95? Can't be beat!

Very disappointed. Two people at our table had prime rib. It was the worst cuts of prime rib I have ever seen. Steak tips for not very good either. There was no choice of vegetable, we all got brussel sprouts. Seriously brussel sprouts?
