The best pizza in town, and I should know, I live here. The Nor'easter is food for gods. Also, a friendly, welcoming staff that will actually make eye contact and say more than three words to you (you're not that cool, Ottos.) Great, responsive barkeeps and they chill their pint glasses so that's worth a star right there. Why are you still reading this when you could be eating tasty pizza?

I love the food at Portland Pie. Their pizza has always been great, but I was very disappointed by my last visit there. I realize that when a waitress is in training to be patient. I was a waitress once and understand that. We brought our family there and pretty much were ignored for our visit. We were trying to make our dinner rather quick, but the waitress and her trainer made it linger much longer than it should have. We had to remind her about our drinks twice and they never brought a check. One of our guests went out to use the phone and found our waitress outside. No wonder we did not get service. Their pizzas are not cheap, so I would expect the service to better. The restaurant was not busy so there was no reason for the lack of service.

We went Friday after work and I mentioned to the family that accompanied us I am 5 for 5 here , 5 trips and 5 screw ups . This time didn't change. Now 6 for 6 , my wife's pizza , Cape Neddick ordered a 10" got a 16". I love the pizza and notice that PPC changed their Pepperoni to this squared , not tasty one! Again we make out on their error and would really wish the staff would friggin care! Love the pizzas my favorite is Nor'easter

Do not go to the Westbrook Portland Pie Co. Ever. Not even the day after the zombie apocalypse. Not even if you have to trap a wild turkey, kill it and eat it raw. PPCo is the hair shirt of pizza joints - punishment for the sin of thinking the menu will deliver any more than styrofoamy chicken chunks served on a cheesy, diaper-warm dough. The tables are dirty. You will have another birthday before the mediocre food limps out of the kitchen. And for a fleeting moment it must occur to you, someone has tampered with your food. You know, dirty, dirty, dirty... The service is lousy. Kid friendly? Awesome place for date night? Um, not so much. Portland is a very competitive eating market so rest assured there are much better options than PPCo. In fact, thanks to the modern convenience called the telephone, instead of volunteering to serve some sort of twisted penance by eating at PPCo, you could have a better experience if you were to park your car in the PPCo parking lot, called Dominoes and had it delivered. Dominoes will be cheaper, they'll hustle and say thank you. Dominoes delivers, PPCo doesn't. Last evening, my wife and I went to the Westbrook PPCo. We sat at a stand up table at the bar (after using my shirt sleeve to wipe the crumbs off of it). It wasn't busy (and now we know why) but many people were waiting for food, for checks to pay for food and for boxes to take home food. People just like us. People like you could be if you chose this slow moving version of hell on earth. It took 15 minutes to be acknowledged and order a drink. When the drinks arrived, we ordered sandwiches. Not pizza. Sandwiches. There was no follow up service; however, our waitress did have enough time to go to the bar and make drinks for her friends. She also dropped a bottle of wine on the floor before retreating for a smoke break. Can't confirm she washed her hands. Broken glass spoils my appetite. After waiting over 30 minutes for food, I went to the bar to tell her to forget it. Magically, our food appeared from the kitchen. Apparently this happens so much, the manager gets involved as he was the one who brought it to the table. Then PPCo showed its true colors. Instead of apologizing or offering us an appeasement, the waitress insulted my wife (awesome tip enhancing move...) and the manager 'reminded me' according to his system we 'only waited' 36 minutes. That 36 minutes AFTER the 15 minute wait to be served. You could be in and out of the nearby Ruby Tuesdays twice in the same amount of time spend less and have a better experience. Here's the bottom line. If you want to have a night out with the family where the tables are dirty, the food is mediocre (at best) and the server insults your family, then this is your place. And if you think it will change, it won't. The chain has been the same for 15 years. How the front line staff treats its customers speaks directly to how they are hired and trained by the back of the house. By the looks of the other lousy reviews (bug in a salad?), this has been a pattern for years. Where competition cures complacency, for the same money, you could have a much better experience by simply walking across the street to the Frog and Turtle.

Taking two stars away because of recent experiences. A dead fly in my wilted arugula topping for pizza. Take out orders that I went to pick up that were lost. Getting sick hours after eating there. Can the health inspector pay them a visit?

This is a tough one to review...on two visits, waitress we had didn't seem overly attentive to our table - miscounting the size of our (small) group and failing to tend to our needs during what appeared to be less busy times (also caught her just standing around while we were clearly waiting on our bill). The menu and brew options on the other hand were varied and delicious. Will have to give them another chance... 3rd time's a charm right?

Went here on my husband's lunch hour because we figured it'd be quick...there were only two other tables occupied in the whole place. The waitress was inattentive, it took almost 35 minutes to get our food, and worst of all: I found a dead bug in my salad! Waited for almost 20 minutes for the waitress to reappear so I could tell her about the bug, but she never returned to our table. Ended up having to walk up and wait at the register for somebody to notice so we could get rung up. All in all, took over an hour and 20 minutes to get in and out of here, and couldn't finish my meal because of a dead bug in my food. I was sick to my stomach all day just thinking about it. Definitely will never revisit this place.

So unless I drop the managers name when ordering my pizza arrives burnt AND doughy w uneven amounts of sauce and cheese. It is also either dough that has been used and reused or not stretched enough. I had several emails back and forth with manager who seemed to really want to "fix the problem" he told me he was mailing a gift card to make up for my experiences. The gift card NEVER came even after I reminded him again and his email said he would be mailing it today. That was two months ago and I haven't ordered since. They have officially lost me as a customer.

The food was okay, the service not so much. Stopped here for lunch one day while in town on business. There were only about 5 other people in the entire place so you wouldn't think the service would be an issue. The service was very slow and at one point I thought they had even forgotten about us. The servers workers were too busy talking to one another. The food, not bad but I've certainly had better. I liked the location and the atmosphere of the Westbrook location. This seems like it would be a nice little place to go. Just hope that in the future the remember to take better care of their customers.

The family liked their pizza & salads. My sandwich; valhaven was so burned/ tough I thought I was going to break a tooth. The pasta salad was old & dried out. I asked for fresh, and they thought I was stupid and put more mayo on it. It was still crusty. Although my husband enjoyed the salad it was missing ingredients. Maybe we'll stop for a slice but I wouldn't seek it out again.

My wife and son (7 yrs old) like to stop in whenever we need to travel from our home in Western Maine to the Portland area The restaurant has a nice, clean feela nd their selection pizzas is great. On a recent weekend day we decided to drive from Bridgton to Westbrook JUST to go to Portland Pie Company. They gave my son a pumpkin to decorate with a bunch of stuff on hand to use and very politely asked for a donation for the local school system. Our waitress was new and even seemed new to the business so she was a little clumsy (verbally) but she seemed to be well supported by the other staff and is probably going to be a good waitress soon. The request for the school donation was for $4 or $5 and was presented well enough that we paid $10 for a pumpkin AND my kid really enjoyed decorating it. The food is good. They make a great variety of pizzas and we will keep going back.

I'm glad this place wasn't around when I was kid or I would've been even fatter. This pizza is just damn good. Lot of cool specialty pizzas - the buffalo chicken is awesome. A little pricy, but well worth it. Good place to watch a game. Have yet to try anything besides the pizza. Maybe someday. Probably not. Right up there with Micucci's for Portland's best pizza.

Went there on a Saturday evening. It was moderately busy. It was loud enough to be difficult to converse at a table without shouting. I had a meatloaf sandwich that was awful. Almost no meatloaf in it. I think they were running out or something. The huge bread was burnt and not edible. The pasta salad was good and my table mates enjoyed their pizza and chicken pasta dish. I'd rather avoid this place and try other places mostly due to the noise level but it's an ok place for good pizza and beer and minimal conversation.

En route to Portland, my partner spotted the sign for the Portland Pie Company and since we just got a flyer in the mail for one opening closer to our home in Reading, we had to stop and check out the pizza. It was fairly busy but plenty of seating and not too loud. Lots of families enjoying meals which is always a good sign. The prices were okay, nothing too cheap but what you would expect from a sit in pizza place. The menu was pretty extensive with more than just pizza offered, and an awesome assortment of mixed drinks and beers on tap. I tried the toasted almond and it was quite delicious. We split a pizza, and it was pretty good. I love this new trend toward offering beer dough that I've been seeing at a few places. I will say the pizza was way too hot (piping hot!) and some portions were burnt which I'm never a fan of. It wasn't anything magical or rave-worthy, kind of ho hum, here's a pizza. Fine for what it was, and not overly expensive, but not a place that I'd go out of my way to return to.

For people that have kids it gets tough when waitresses ignore you especially in the evening at dinner when kids get tired. Some waitresses understand this and compensate for this in their approach. Not the case at Portland Pie. I would go as far to say this is not a kid friendly place even though I like the atmosphere and the pizza is usually very good. They have creative pizza here and even a gluten free dough for whomever needs that. There are just too many good restaurants around to waste time with a place that cannot get the service down. We even had to go up to the register and ask for the check. Although the PIZZA is very good it is a bit pricey. I was a bit surprised my bill for 5 of us came out to $75 for a 2 pizzas and drinks. I will most likely not be going back to this place as a result of this experience.

Portland Pie has really good pizza and sandwiches! With several different types of crust - white, wheat, beer, basil - it's hard to get bored and we haven't talked about what goes on TOP of the crust. For sauce choices, they have a really good red sauce, delicious pesto as well as garlic and oil. Cheese? Four cheese blend, blue cheese, feta. Meat and veggies? LOTS! And these pies come in a variety of sizes - thin and thick crust. For every pizza, they have an equivalent sandwich. I love eating here! The only reason this review is not 5 stars is because of the prices - I think they are kinda pricey for all this yumminess. But, it's a great treat. Oh, and another tip: they'll sell you dough balls so you can make your own pizza at home.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
