Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

We've been driving past this place since we moved to the area and noticed it says "Lobster mac and cheese" on the billboard. We finally decided to take a chance. We are so glad we did! Ambiance wise, it was nice. Quiet, very few people, pleasant staff. Fun pictures on the wall. A small shelf area with Italian imports for purchase. Food: "How's the lobster mac and cheese?" "Well, 3 ounces of lobster meat with 4 ounces of penne pasta-" "YES. THAT." We got one serving of lobster mac and cheese for the two of us, a 12" pizza (with bacon, onions, feta, & sun dried tomatoes), and 2 beers. The pizza was okay, we were happy with it. Not super amazing but they sure don't skimp on toppings. The crust is what gets you though-- it's very... dense. Having trouble sleeping? Eat 2 pieces of their pizza and it's so heavy that you'll be in a food coma immediately. The lobster mac and cheese-- we scraped that bowl clean. Must be a seasonal thing, but WOW. There was practically 75% of an entire former crustacean in that bowl! I hadn't imagined liking it with penne (but it was great!) and the cheese sauce tasted like a bechamel or a gruyere. Bread crumbs on the top. Delicious. We WILL be eating here again. And? a 4 topping 12" pizza, lobster mac and cheese, and 2 beers came out to under $30.

I ordered the fettucini alfredo with chicken. If you like your alfredo sauce thick then I recommend it. My friend ordered the veggie pizza. I tried a piece, wasn't blown away by it.

This is a casual eatery, not an upscale fancy restaurant. I give it 5 stars because it does casual, very well. My wife and I vacation up in the area often, and always stop in for at least one meal, sometimes we drive up just to eat here. My wife has Celiacs disease, which means she is on a gluten-free diet, Alfredo's makes gluten-free pizza. My wife loves their Hawaian pizza. The salads are excellent, and also pretty large. I usually get one of the pasta dinners, or Buffalo tenders, and a salad. The people here that we mostly see are the wife, husband, and I believe a son, they are very friendly, in the Maine way, meaning no fake, put on a smile for the tourists, used car salesman smarm. They just say hi, and do whatever they can, to make your meal pleasant. Their desserts are excellent, my wife used to love cannoli's before she found out she had Celiacs, when the woman working there heard us talking about it, she volunteered to fill a bowl with the cannoli filling, so my wife could have that without the shell. Just good food, good people, good prices. Artie

We got a simple pepperoni and sausage pizza. Not the best not the worst. I would hit up seacoast for take out for a piece of pizza.

Stopped here because we got off the highway for gas. Upsides: Good food. Great gourmet pizza flavors. VERY friendly. Downsides: we got dirty dishes from the 'clean' stack provided and there are no servers so instead of getting up and bugging the staff (whom all do double duty) for a box we just left our leftovers. Not GREAT, but Good/Par for Maine family restaurants.

Stopped here on vacation to grab a couple of subs and mozzarella sticks to bring to the beach. On one of the subs they forget the cheese and the other one they forgot the dressing! I mean seriously? Also all of the veggies on it (tomato, pickles, onions) were diced in little cubes instead of sliced, which I didn't care for. Their sub rolls are homemade, but nothing special in my opinion. I would have brought my food back if I wasn't already at the beach. If you do order from here, check your food before you leave!

The place is nice we ordered two salads ,an individual pizza and French fries. They never washed the lettuce they were full of sand and the pizza was undercooked.

The pizza was really, really great. We did take-out and when we arrived late our pizzas weren't ready yet (they told us 30 minutes and we got there in 50). I don't like waiting for takeout.

We consistently come here for take-out, the food is always excellent and the staff is friendly. Very casual on the inside. As locals, we love supporting a place that stays open year-round. This place is also great for travelers and vacationers looking for a quick, good meal.

Delicious! The Galicia knots were perfect, the food was nice and hot, plenty of cheese. Very nice employees.

What a huge variety of food here. The staff is very friendly and service is top shelf all the way. Try the gourmet pizza and antipasto. Very good!

Out of the three dishes in our party - pizza. Chicken parm, and steak and cheese - they all felt bland and uninspired. The chicken was like a microwaved frozen patty tossed on a sandwich and while the pizza was ok - it certainly wasn't worth stopping in.

Great pizza in such a quaint area. We tried the lobster pizza tonight and thought that it was great. The cheese and veggie pizza we had was great as well. The pizza wasn't greasy, the staff was great, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The only downside to the pizza was that the crust seemed premade. It reminded us of an adult version of Chuck E. Cheese pizza.

The pizza was...okay. Someone else in our penne Alfredo and it was quite good. The service was...okay. Not the best restaurant but certainly not the worst.

Best pizza I've had in a long time. Now I didn't eat in but got delivery. The women "Joan" was friendly and very courteous! She made my day while I was waiting to deliver to the Shaws supermarket here in Wells. I will order again and again from this place. A++++++

Not bad. Typical NE italian joint. Portions were surprisingly not enough for me and I am not that big of a guy (175lbs). Usually I am used to a huge plate of pasta. Michael Phelps would be let down big time.

The food at Alfredo's is great. Pizza is good not great, but subs and salads are 5 star. Reason for the 3 star and not more is because of staff and hours. This place closes very early for a pizza place during busy summer nights in Wells. The one chance we had to go here and it wasn't closed we did pick up. Food was ready fast but we stood around and waited for service. The time we called for pickup the man who answered was very rude when I asked for pickup and it was closed at 9 oclock. Not my fault your miserable to be cooking pizzas at 830 on a Friday night. Should be open!

I stumbled upon this dinner while on vacation. The people the food and the live music were awesome.

I've gone here many, many, many, times over the past few years and over the years they have remained pretty consistent in how they run the place itself and how the meal itself is. Like said in a previous review, nobody will mistake this for a fine Italian kitchen, so if your looking for that, head into York or Kennebunk/port if you are trying to find gnocchi and bruschetta because here, it's simply (or for the most part) pizza. (Quick note: Of all the five/six years I've been going here, it has NEVER been packed once, what I mean by that is their is usually always zero wait- and I can confirm that because I used to live in Maine). They have the regular pies like a pizza shop, but they also have season fare like lobster rolls. They serve Pepsi, which I don't really care for, and another quick note, one of the water dispensers must be broken because when I used it I got some carbonated soda water type thing. So while the ambiance is certainly not formal, it's retro if anything, pies and an arcade thing in the back which has Pac-Man, Galaga, 1942, the typical stuff. Bottom line, if you want a good pie, come by. S.O.

Detoured on the way north because we were about to eat the dashboard. Being from CT, we sneered at the looks, but we have a nose for places that serve good eats -- you don't judge books by covers and all that. Here's the Top 10 things that ensure we'll go back to Alfredo's over and over: 10) 2 fellas right inside the front door playing folk music, '60s staples and Black Eyed Peas on acoustic guitar. 9) The families and couples at tables with gingham plastic tablecloths. 8) The menu up on the wall, behind the counter, below the ceiling. 7) Self-serve plates, silverware and napkins. 6) The powdered parm and crushed red pepper already on the tables. 5) The huge house salad, with chopped red onion, and super presentation. 4) How many beers on tap? 3) The parking space on the left corner of the building, as you look out the window, with car after car after car pulling in to pick up take out. 2) The high school athletes sitting around four tables pushed together, to chew up several pies. and 1) The spanakopita pie, white romano sauce, sausage, spinach and feta, that we'd eat all day long. One of the many pie recipes up on that menu; we'll try another soon.

The name has since changed, and I can't recall to what at the moment. They are, however, in the same location with the same basic menu. Nobody is going to mistake them for a gourmet restaurant, but it is good for what it is-a standard mom & pop-style pizza shop. The pizzas are delicious, as are most of the other things I've had. They have a fair number of tables. And the staff is always very friendly.
