Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I feel like others have been a bit hard on the whop. You have to respect whop for what it is - you don't compare the Ferrari to a Ford Focus, right? Well don't compare whop to Wolfgang Puck. Just remember, after a good party, there is nothing better than a late night buffalo chicken calzone with blue cheese dressing. Thank you for keeping my late nights entertaining whop!

So this is my first post on yelp but I feel something this horrible deserves to be known. Ordered a veggie dagwood last night with extra mayo. I'm originally from Maine but moved to Mass where dagwoods don't exist. .. so being back for a visit I was very excited to get one. My dagwood came with extra meat (I am a vegetarian). Called for a new one...another hour goes by....its now 10:30pm...this time no meat, but also no mayo. I think a mess up 2 times in a row on the same order doesn't deserve another please fix this, but instead just a post to let others know how horrible it is.

This is definitely not the best pizza in the world...in fact, you can probably find better pizza in Waterville. BUT, no one else will have the buffalo chicken calzone with blue cheese dressing. SO GOOD. I moved away from Waterville and I'm still trying to find somewhere that makes this awesome late-night food.

Great service, delicious food, enough said. I really like the fact that you can order right from their website.

The place to go if you like rude service and so-so food at really good prices. WHOP is a great place to pop into if you don't feel like spending a lot of cash and want a quick fix to eat, but I wouldn't go out of my way to plan on eating there. The food is OK - not horrid but nothing memorable either. The service is polite enough if you go in during daylight hours, but I vowed never to go in when I went after midnight one night and sat for half an hour waiting on a pizza and had to listen to the dude behind the counter taking phone orders and mocking Every. Single. One. We're not talking mild 'well he was dumb' kind of insults either - this was embarassingly bad stuff that almost made me go up and demand my money back. Unfortunatly it was after midnight as I said, so nobody else was open. Granted, this was a few years back so maybe - maybe - the guys gone, but as I said, I made a vow to not go back in late at night and have stuck to it so can't say otherwise one way or the other. The store seems clean enough, but the decor is straight out of the 70's. Dark, dingy, and posters on the wall so old that they've faded away to almost nothing. The past two times I was in I was subjected to telemarketing on the big screen TV as well (!). While not really a distraction, it was kind of bizarre having someone trying to sell me power tools while I'm eating a cheese steak. Its the kind of place I half expect to walk in to some day and hear Gordon Ramsay swearing at the staff in the kitchen, its THAT comically bad. That said, for all the flaws, the food is cheap, and it IS filling. The daily specials can't be beat pricewise, so as a lunch or dinner quick fix, its definitely an option. Not a great option, but an option nonetheless.

A front. This place better be a front for a crew of back-alley crystal meth producers. I'm talking about a well-oiled machine of good-old-fashioned crime. If WHOP was a drug cover, this business would actually be more legitimate. It does feel like this pizza - made with the shittiest ingredients they could yank - is made by meth-heads distracted by the delicate chemistry of their drug of choice. Instead of regarding the art of their pizza, they are attuned to the science of their meth. Haphazardly tossed together is cheese that tastes like its bought at CVS with tomato sauce which has marinated in its own mold on the top shelf, and the dough which gave birth to the word doughy. Yet, this place thrives on location and location alone. Like a good drug dealer, this place is on call when you need your fix of pizza most. Students from Colby - myself included - shamelessly look forward to the murky depths of some blackout night where the inspiration to order WHOP becomes genuine. If you are in need of a fix, and you need it quick, call the dealers at WHOP. Their pizza is like crack - cheaper than a pack of appetite-suppressing cigarettes, disastrous to your physical and mental health, and highly addictive.

WHOP is a solid, honest and economical choice for pizza. I've had delivery from them three times now, their online ordering system is well oiled and snappy, and the drivers always find the right dorm on campus. As for the food itself, I've tried a buffalo chicken sub, which was solid, a steak and cheese sub, which was weak (dry meat, not enough substance), and a buffalo chicken pizza, which was delicious (great balance of cheese and sauce, filling and tasty). They have good deals and good service, they're a great option for late nights (love the delivery at 1am).
