Went for dinner and drinks with the girlfriend. They burned my burger meat really bad! Girlfriend's pizza looked like they were bought from Hannaford's frozen section. Our table wasn't very clean; still could see a layer of marinara sauce from god knows how many days go. Server disappeared for along time after serving main course and never asked how our food was. I'm from Portland, and therefore have been to quite of bit of pubs and taverns. This was hands down the worst tavern experience. 1 star because they at least had the drinks both of us liked.

Despite swearing off this place after a rude staff person some months ago, an email from the owner apologizing caught my interest. Managers and owners apologize at times to keep customers, especially as Waterville has a few eateries close by (not many worth visiting however). We finally decided one day that we missed the food, which has always been excellent in my opinion. That, and the alternative next door had everything layers with "sprouts" and "Hummus." Sorry, no "Granollers" here. I was pleased to learn that the rude manager and the staff he had..were gone. In fact, aside from the folks in the kitchen, I did not see a single face I recognized. The owner not only listened to the complaint, he fixed the problem! I sat down once again to the best (I have eaten this dish in a dozen states and three countries) Baked stuffed Haddock anyplace. We have since been back several times, most notably for Karaoke night. Be assured, it is the food that brings us in, the laughter, and good times. The singing not so much.

So, I have been to the SST many times. Decided to take the time to write a review. I was in a few nights ago with my family. A large party of twenty were seated close by. It was a Wednesday night so they didn't have enough staff on to cover. Our party had 12 in it. Service was friendly but very slow. This was the first time I'd had such awful service here so they get a pass. It's always nice to go with a large group as you get to see a large variety of the menu served. The food was very good as always with the exception of my wife's pizza. They burnt half of the bottom of it. I told my wife to send it back. As my attention was elsewhere she complained to the server. She was told that it was a wood fired pozza and that is just how they come out. Well, being a "Foodie" I knew better and called another server over. I showed the half that was properly cooked and explained that wood fired doesn't equal burnt. I then suggested they at least take 50% off as my wife no longer had an appetite and everyone was finished eating. At my insistence they did and gave a free dessert. I would gave liked to see them so that on their own when my wife complained initially. That was disappointing. The baked stuff haddock and lobster roll looked amazing and I was told they were delicious! Wings were good. Calamari was nicely breaded and seasoned but over cooked and a little chewy. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is excellent. Solid three star trip. Teetering on four stars. .

First night out on the town in Waterville, we chose this place on a recommendation. Pretty good beer selection, nothing crazy. Good appetizers, the fried calamari was probably the best I've ever had. I know, strong statement, but it's true! This was the first lobster roll I had of three in the area; it came in second. The roll was not the traditional and was hard to bite, but the lobster and dressing was excellent.

Good cold beer, nice staff. food is mediocre but sometimes it's the only place open in town

After 4 visits to this restaurant, I am thoroughly impressed with the food. The french fries - and I usually don't eat them - are the best I have EVER tasted. Terrific soups, seafood & steaks. All excellent.

I have visited Silver Street Tavern many times and am never disappointed. My husband and I went yesterday and we both had the Hippy Chicken Sandwich. It was amazing. We absolutely loved it. Our favorite so far. Our waitress was excellent as well.
