Every time I go here I do not have connectivity when I am inside to be able to check in or leave a review. Aside from poor 4G and no open WiFi this place is awesome :-) I've been here many times and tried a good portion of the menu. Everything is good. My family loves that you can get Hibachi meals without sittings the grill. Sometimes you want that to but just want to chill and not dodge flying cleavers and 6 foot flames. Sometimes you do but here you get a choice. Sushi is fantastic and we love to come for lunch Mon-Thurs for half price sushi. Can't beat it. Thx for coming to Waterville. We'll keep you busy.

Let me first say that I totally agree with Jason from Chelsea. I have always loved Asian cuisine and love eating at pad Thai too on kmd but the sushi bar just down the street has a better sushi selection. This restaurant pleases many interests and the sashimi I ordered was absolutely fantastic. Tender...melt in your mouth. I will be recommending this restaurant to all, and I will return to enjoy the hibachi chef. Excellent addition to Waterville dining and night life.

I decided to eat here along with my family based upon the glowing reviews of this establishment. While the food lived to up expectations (our family had hibachi meals), we were deeply disappointed in- and quite frankly appalled- by the manner in which we were treated. The hibachi "show" began with the chef thrusting a spatula in my wife's face and interrupting a personal conversation due to her lack of attention to his work. This was disconcerting, but things only declined from there, so in hindsight this was the least of our problems. Following that incident, the chef began making remarks about my 15 year old daughter (e.g. calling her "sexy" and making comments about her physical appearance relentlessly). Needless to say this was uncomfortable for our entire family and is extremely inappropriate. Our eldest daughter had multiple pieces of zucchini thrown at her at the same time- something you'd expect at a middle school cafeteria, not a restaurant. We frequent hibachi restaurants and are accustomed to traditional playful customs- this is not the case!! Our chef's behavior was completely out of line and he crossed boundaries that are wildly inappropriate. Our apparent discomfort around him was clearly not conveyed because he proceeded to squirt water directly in the faces of my two daughters and my wife. We entered the restaurant expecting a lighthearted dinner with entertainment, but not to be ambushed by throwing objects. Following our meal, I spoke with one of the employees, but I am not confident that our disgust was conveyed. Overall, the food was adequate and our service was disgraceful.

We went for lunch and had hibachi style. The waitress was great the food was excellent and the chef did a fabulous job with cooking. Thank you for the fun atmosphere and food

Favorite Restaurant!! Consistently great sushi and maki rolls every time and the hot sake is wonderful :-) On a busy night the guests at the hibachi are a bit loud but it adds to the fun atmosphere. The servers are friendly and accommodating. The menu has something for everyone, even my picky 13 year old son found something he loved.

Awesome food, can't beat their weekly lunch specials. One of my favorite restaurants in Waterville.

We have eaten there a number of times, and while the food is good, it is neither noteworthy or consistent. The service is friendly but chaotic, with servers having no ideas who is working which table. A request for water and take 15 minutes. On out last, and final, visit, we had to wait over 30 minutes for our drink order and our entrees came out separately. I can't recommend this restaurant.

Went back for the sushi and was just as impressed. The fish was very fresh, great texture, and the rolls I had were very original. The Mr. Right roll was nicely savory and the Fantastic roll with yellowtail and mango was very clean & bright. Another plus is that they staff more than one sushi chef at a time, so the sushi is made to order very quickly. I'll definitely be back again. And again.

Just enjoyed dinner at Mirakuya last night with our friends and children and we had a great time! We were a group of 4 adults and 3 kids, ages 11 and 12. We enjoyed a great meal at the hibachi table and enjoyed the 'show' the chef puts on while cooking our meal. The kids REALLY enjoyed the meal preparation! I ordered the combo of steak and scallops, which I shared with my son. The meal was more than enough for the two of us - plus he's not a big eater so it was nice that they allowed us to share. Everyone's meat was cooked to order and there were no complaints from any of us regarding our meal. My only negative was the drink I ordered. I ordered a Mojito and so did of one my friends - there was barely any alcohol in it. Just tasted like soda water with mint...a little disappointing. We didn't make a big deal of it but hopefully this was just a fluke and not common for other drinks they serve. The kids ordered fried ice cream for dessert and loved it. The next time we go we plan on trying some of the sushi, which I've heard is quite good. Overall I highly recommend dinner or lunch here if you're looking for a little fun along with great food! We're happy to now have a GREAT Japanese restaurant in Waterville!!

The hibachi is fun & entertaining for all. Food good, sushi really very good. Best in the area & now don't have to drive to Hallowell for my sushi fix.

Our first trip to Mirakuya was this past weekend. I've been hearing mixed reviews from friends in the area so I decided to find out for myself. We made a reservation for the Hibachi, which is where they cook the food in front of you on these large griddles with 20 people sitting around them. I felt rushed as soon as we were seated. We were made to give drink orders immediately, then with less than 3 or 4 mins of looking at the menu we had to place our food order. I guess you really don't need that long as the selection for the Hibachi is limited. A waiter appears with a tray of salads and literally threw them down in front of everyone. The salad consisted of one half of a cucumber slice, one half of a hot house tomato that was hard as a rock and a tiny bit of iceberg lettuce with a scant teaspoonful of some yellow dressing that I can't even begin to describe. I took probably two bites from the salad and turned my head just for a second to speak with my dinner companions and I saw out of the corner of my eye the same waiter throwing a bowl of Miso soup down and trying to take away my salad. I was hungry so I had him leave the salad so I could finish it. When done with the 'salad', I started on the soup, a totally tasteless lukewarm version of Miso soup, which I usually enjoy. I had taken one spoonful and again turned to speak to someone and that same waiter was now trying to take away the soup. I told him I was still eating it so he left. I could only choke down a couple more spoonfuls anyway. So now it's time for the Hibachi show. After a lot of spatula and knife juggling, an onion volcano, (don't ask ) and some sake being squirted into patrons mouths, the food finally hit the griddles. Rice and noodles were finished and plated before the proteins and veggies were cooked so by the time those were on our plate, people had either eaten most of their rice or it was cold. Dinner came with two shrimp for an appetizer. They were very small and overcooked. I had ordered the scallops. They were seared lightly on one side only and were in different stages of doneness. They too were on the small side. Veggies and rice were just ok. It came time for the bill and I felt like I was rushed to get out of there so they could prepare for the next sitting. That was fine with me as I couldn't wait to leave. As far as atmosphere it was overly loud, patrons and chefs alike, and very dim and drab. Definitely won't be returning.

My boyfriend and I recently went here for our anniversary. We both are big sushi fans and we have tried many different types in the past, so we thought we would check this place out. We visited this place on 1/25/15 around 7 o'clock. It was fairly quiet, they layout of the restaurant was actually very nice, modern, and clean. You would never be able to guess that from looking at the exterior. We we seated at a booth and opted out of the whole "hibachi" experience. Our waiter was a young woman who was very quiet and unfortunately hard to understand. We both started with the peppered tuna appetizer. Our appetizer promptly came out after about 5 minutes after ordering. The presentation was very nice. Approximately 6-7 slices of peppered tuna on a small bed of greens and a special dressing/ sauce. The tuna was nice and pink. The flavor was wonderful and the texture was just right. This place does not have forks... Only chopsticks! I thought it was so much fun! Laughing at each other while pathetically trying to eat with out chopsticks certainly kept this visit fun. We then ordered the Yankee Roll and the Volcano roll. Both were fairly spicy tuna based rolls. I believe we got 6 pieces of sushi per roll. Again, the presentation was very clean and nice. The freshness and taste of the food was wonderful! Lastly we ended our visit with a little desert. The hazelnut truffle was our choice. A chocolate hazelnut (basically Nutella) center surrounded by hazelnut gelato, rolled in crushed hazelnuts... IT WAS DELICIOUS! Although it was on the smaller side it hit the spot and was worth every penny. Overall based on this visit I would give this place a solid four stars because of the quality of food and the atmosphere. I do suggest if you are in the Waterville area and like sushi that you check this place out... Don't let the cheap sign and unattractive building fool you. This place is a gem.
