Delicious iced coffee, with coffee ice cubes. The brownies and lemon tarts were also scrumptious. Boyfriend had the tuna sandwich, I had a bite and found it good, not stunning. I'd love to try the other sandwiches. I wish we'd had more time to spend in the cafe. Like Bloc 11 in Somerville, MA, this place used to be a bank and still has a vault inside it. And it's available for parties! For a short weekend trip, we went to Highlands twice and would go back again if we could.

Impressively good latte and drip coffee. We are coffee snobs and we we both pleased. Side note, there is an old bank vault, suit of armor, and some art to check out.

This a really cool coffee shop. It used to be a a bank, make sure to check out the walk in vault (it's available for meeting space) They feature daily specials. I recommend the soups. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. Great coffee lattes and smoothies as well. *They have almond and coconut milk as alternatives to dairy milk. Open mike night is Thursday's at 6pm. Great variety of musicians. They also feature local artists paintings and photography on their walls.

Delicious and very reasonably priced. I was put off by the large ad in the corner for a water filtration system, but I won't downgrade my review based on that. Breakfast and lunch and smoothies and espresso. Nice!

Great stop on the way back from Owls Head Museum. They made us tasty sandwiches. We had a pannini and a chicken salad sandwich. The coffees are very well brewed.

First of all I think this is the only place worth stopping for a sandwich in the small town of Thomaston. Not only are most other places terrible (sorry), but the HCH's sandwiches are AWESOME! They make the best reuben I can find anywhere. Why not five-stars? Out of some ingredients at an early lunch time on a weekday kinda sucks (this only happened once but still). They have awesome drinks (milkshakes, smoothies, great coffees) but I got a smoothie that came up short (what I assume, or hope, was agave nectar wasn't mixed at all - just kinda sitting on the bottom). If I had just gotten my reuben and a milkshake then it would have been a 5 star experience. The atmosphere of this place is great: go for coffee or lunch, definitely a first date kind of place. Plus they have free wifi so go get a brew and do some work

We've been staying nearby in a RV park for the annual lobster fest, and have been to this great little coffee shop three times. Their drinks and pastry were really good, and the place is simply charming inside, with its bank vault and table made out of old safe deposit boxes. Lots of room plus decent WiFi. I know they do more than coffee and pastry (beer, sandwiches, salads, etc.), but for what we saw, it's a five-star place.

The food and coffee are delicious and the espresso was soo cheap! I definitely recommend the "pb panini"

I've had great breakfasts and, of course, coffee at Highlands. But yesterday I had lunch there for the first time. Too bad I waited so long! I had a Reuben, easily the best sandwich of my life! Homemade rye, local sauerkraut from Morse's, lean juicy corned beef, melty swiss and just the right amount of dressing. Perfection.

Stopped in looking for some coffee heading home South on rt 1. Unexpected surprise, they had coffee by design, score! Also enjoyed a really great blueberry muffin, my coworker had a red pepper asiago muffin which I wish I would have gotten, it was awesome. Would definitely stop again if I am traveling through.
