I have been to numerous Starbucks locations in the Portland and South Portland area and I like this one best. I always get my drink and treat at their drive thru section because the staff are professional, friendly, and did i say FAST? I'm serious, they really know how to keep the line moving at the drive thru. It's always nice to see them hand you your order at the window with a smile and courteous send off. Also, I don't have the starbucks rewards card, but they gave me a free treat for my birthday! I checked in on my birthday and told the guy taking my order that it was my birthday, but I wasn't expecting a free treat. At check out, I waited an extra five minutes for my chocolate croissant because I think they were conversing whether or not to give me the treat for free. Either way, it was worth the wait and thank you Starbs!

Starbucks is the big green machine of coffee. You know what you'll get and if not, you know they'll be happy to get it right. Most locations are similar in design, decor and of course standardized menu and merch. What sets this location a star above average is the staff. They are friendly, professional and welcoming. For example, they serve hundreds of customers a day and still greet me by name, even at the drive through. The drive through is a very nice feature of this location. To be able to snack and caffeinate without even shutting down the car or getting out is the apex of efficiency. I'm sold on this location and choose it above the other very close by locations. It is a pleasant oasis in a retail intensive area, kind of a welcoming and relaxing "anti-mall" sanctuary.

I ordered a Chai and waited, waited, I was the only one in the shop. When the first customer to walk in there started chatting up with the guy making drinks, I finally looked down and assumed the cup sitting on the counter was mine. To my amazement, the guy working there said "yeah that's your Chai right there". Really? When were you planning to tell me my drink is ready? I guess I'm supposed to assume and confirm, huh? Useless!!! The drink was great as always but this type of service chipped away at my experience.
