The Bankery created our wedding cake and it was exactly what we wanted- beautiful & delicious. The owners were so nice to work with. They even delivered to our wedding venue in Kennebunkport! Since then, I've been back several times when visiting Skowhegan and had their delicious food and coffee. The scones are absolutely to die for!

Beautiful works of art, but I have to agree with Paul, the flavor isn't there. Generous servings. Huge chocolate chip cookies, however, the taste is bland. The only flavor was in the chips. Not buttery, melt in your mouth. Cannoli had little flavor. Macaroons are huge and full of coconut but still not rich in flavor. We were very disappointed after spending over $16 for 6 cookies, 2 cannolis, 2 macaroons & 2 brownies.

this is an oasis in the downtown area of skowhegan-when you have a big, long day of shopping-just rest your heels, and come to the bankery-(once a fancy old bank) and have a coffee,pastry....or a small soup and croissant..if theres a birthday-there are custom gourmet cakes with unreal frosting--- such a pleasure to go there-

This bakery located in a former bank building (thus the "BANKERY" name) has done very well since our visit a couple of years ago and has expanded to offer flowers, special cakes, and it looked like tuxedo rental (see skowheganfleuriste.com ) Terrific baked goods. 3 1/2 " square brownie was moist, choclaty and almost as good as my wife's. Natural (wild) blueberry scone was great. Extra treat: Large 10 - 11 oz cup of braised beef stew + tasty roll ($4.50) made a hearty lunch and there was a plethora of dessert choices. Very limited seating (~ 6 people total) and no rest rooms ... so it's really not a restaurant. Weak coffee.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from a small bakery from Skowhegan, Maine. We bought our daughter's birthday cake from there and everyone was impressed with the rich flavors, moist cake and frosting work. Job well done and pricing is very reasonable! I think they have earned repeat business from us and our guests in the near future!

This place was a great find. Fantastic scones, creative pastries, brioche pretzels, all served by great staff in a cafe built inside an old bank, complete with vault. Try the blueberry scones.

Little known treasure in Skowhegan. Friends who own a business across the street recommended we try it while visiting from out of state. Wow! Only wish we hadn't waited until the last day. The kitchen is partially open to see behind the counters with an amazing old bank vault. The selection of pastries and breakfast croissants will please every palate and then some. Had read the scones were wonderful and I think they were under rated as they are out of this world. Moist and fresh with wonderful blueberry, raspberry and white chocolate. Definitely a dieters dream oops meant nightmare! Gotta live a little right? The beautiful displays when you enter tease your senses almost immediately and the smell of the baking pulls you in even more. Took me about 7-10 minutes to decide and although I wanted one of everything I chose the scones to take to someone's house and a bacon and cheese croissant for me. I will never look at a chain fast good croissants the same way ever again. They pale in comparison to this and the price is pretty close. We will be back next trip but will go a lot earlier in our visit to try many more item. Yum yum! Great job Bankery!!!

My sister ordered a half chocolate, half white sheet cake for our parent's 50th anniversary. She gave them simple instructions on how to decorate it and they really came through. 3 layers of super moist cake that everyone raved about. My only criticism was the inch of frosting on the top layer, but I don't like frosting.

We only grabbed a quick coffee and a pastry, but the almond frangipani croissant was one of the nicest I've had in a while. Lovely buttery, flaky crust; soft, warm, nutty almond filling- every mouthful was chewy and delicious and moreish! Very nice!

We're sure to make the Bankery a stop anytime we're near Skowhegan. We come up for a conference every July and the pastries and the oh so good cupcakes are on our must have list. This is a well run and delightful bakery and we'll worth a stop.

Ordered flowers for Valentine's Day for my mom as a surprise. I live in Raleigh, NC so instead of ordering from some online company that ships flowers in a box, I decided I'd go with a local shop so they'd arrive arranged. I called the morning they were to be delivered and asked if they had an approximate time they could give me for delivery. The woman was incredibly rude, laughed and scoffed at me saying there was 4 delivery drivers and no way they could tell. I made sure my mother was home all day. She only left to drop off and pick up the kids from school which was an hour total. Right before 5pm I called the store again because the flowers had still not been delivered. The woman I spoke to the second time was MUCH more helpful. She looked my order up and said it hasn't been delivered but she'd call the driver. Completely different information than I had been given before. She called me back and told me the driver had called her multiple times that day to schedule a delivery time but my mom didn't answer. I couldn't believe they call the people they deliver to and ruin the surprise! Of course my mom won't answer and unknown number. They ended up finally delivering right before 6pm. The flowers were very nice from what I could tell from the picture but I was very disappointed with the delivery process and the initial salesperson I spoke to that lied.
