The fresh steamers are the best clams I've ever had - went back several times this summer to serve for visitors and consistently everyone loved them!
(5)Jessica J.
Excellent food. Hearty and flavorful clam chowder, crispy crab cakes and really really great lobster roll - not too sweet, tons of lobster and a crispy, buttery bun.
(5)Max W.
This place made our family of four the best lobster rolls we've ever eaten--by far. A bit of a wait because it's just two nice guys behind the counter, and each roll is toasted and buttered--perfectly, I might add--but it is more than worth it. We stopped by on our way out of Old Orchard Beach, thinking maybe we'll get one last lobster lunch and do we want to go to Saco or Kennebunk, but decided we'd rather not get off the highway once we were on it, and then we saw this place with it's smart sign: Last Chance for Lobster. So, we pulled in and ordered. Best decision of the whole trip. The lobster is plentiful and NOT over-dressed. The rolls are spectacular: lightly toasted and buttery. The rolls are substantial, but they do not detract from the meat in any way. The rest of the fish in the counter--tuna, halibut, swordfish, shrimp, etc.--looked fresh and delicious, too.
(5)Patrick H.
We had lobster, shrimp and salmon cake rolls. Fresh awesomeness! Highly recommended!!!
(5)Christopher P.
Incredibly fresh seafood, exceptional customer service, and they really know their product.
(5)Crystal H.
What an incredible accidental lunch! Not only were our lobster rolls grilled and hand made on the spot, but they were huge and delicious at only $15! Plus, we went to sit outside, and without us even asking, the two nice gentlemen who made out lunch brought a picnic table over to us so that we could enjoy the nice day. These 5 girls were very happy with our lunch. Definitely stop here!
(5)Dillon G.
we love this place, Jim (owner) has always helped us out. Cook your lobsters, ship your lobster, shuck your oysters, ship your fresh caught fish.! a wonderful addition to Scarborough.
(5)Kirsten F.
Amazing lobster roll teeming with fresh lobster on a buttery roll toasted to perfection. Clam chowder is out of this world too! Highly recommend and sit outside on picnic tables!
(5)William F.
The food and service outstanding!!!! The best lobster roll ever! It doesn't get better than this.
(5)Brian G.
Cool little seafood place. They don't have much, but what they carry is fresh and delicious. Quality local seafood options. I found their lobster roll to be a little too bready and buttery, but the lobster inside was tasty and obviously fresh. The remainder of the store carries other high-quality foods (including ravioli and pasta from Terra Cotta, which are really good). Very clean and friendly staff. My kind of place. They recently opened a second seasonal location on the outskirts of OOB near Ocean Park...pretty much right around the corner from me. Looking forward to Memorial Day weekend already!
(5)Alex F.
What a gem. We stopped by after visiting the water park feeling hungry. The owners were super friendly, they broke the ice by pulling out a huge lobster out if the tank and let my sons see it close. We ordered soup, lobster and crab rolls, salmon cakes, bought cherry tomatoes, broccoli an two blueberry beers. We sat outside and had the best lunch of our lives. What a perfect surprise. The store is ideal. Loved it. A huge thank you goes to the owners. Outstanding.
(5)Laurel H.
Delicious and hardy lobster rolls. Bigger than most I've had at other restaurants. The shop manager is really friendly and very willing to help you out. He has great suggestions to make your seafood dinner a hit! Also, the shop offers some unique Made in Maine products. Great wine selection. A one stop shop!
(5)Ben M.
This is the best seafood market that we have found near Portland. We just moved to Scarborough from North Carolina and we have been to loads of seafood markets around the Portland area over the past few months. The owner, Jim, is extremely friendly and helpful and always has the freshest seafood selections. They have lots of other local fare and they are very reasonably priced. They will steam live lobsters for you at no additional charge. Just call ahead and let them know what time you want to pick them up. They are always cooked perfectly and are still hot when we get them home. It is not often that you can both support small business and get great deals, but this is one of those rare exceptions.
(5)Eliza Jane C.
Great fresh scallops, owner is super friendly and helpful!
(5)Kristie J.
The best lobster roll anywhere! We stopped in while camping at Bayleys campground and loved it so much we went the next year and plan to go back this summer! Lots of yummy Maine food and drinks and friendly service. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
(5)Jackie S.
I love this place. They always have sushi grade tuna at the store and sometimes have sushi grade salmon as well. I have never been disappointed (or gotten sick) from either and the prices are fair.
(5)Bob M.
Stopped by today with my wife as we were traveling thru Maine. We were longing for lobster rolls. It was so good that I almost went back in to purchase another one! Try the ricotta lemon cookies. What a great way to end our lunch!!!
(5)Chloe C.
This was truly exceptional! I absolutely loved the meal I had here last week. I stopped in due to the excellent yelp reviews. There was a bit of a wait, as the solo guy behind the counter was engaged in something, facing away from us. It turns out he was making THE BEST LOBSTER ROLLS IN EXISTENCE. Essentially, the guy is a zen master of the lobster roll. He takes his sweet time, perfectly toasting the sweet bun, brushing everything with molten butter, picking the choicest chunks of lobster, assembling them with care, wrapping the whole joyous bundle up with origami precision. We also had oysters, chowder, and little whoopie pies. Everything was phenomenal. The staff took the time to help my friend pick the oysters, and were super sweet. I'm definitely coming back whenever I'm in Maine.

Had to downgrade after my last visit here. We loved the lobster last summer so came back for steamed to go on labor day weekend. We ordered three soft shell about 1lb each (priced at about $7.99 a lb) the kid working was confused and checked in the back. He said there were no lobsters under our name. We explained that we were ordering them now, we had not called ahead. He grabbed the lobsters out of the tank and weighed them, then totaled us at $32 for the three small soft shells. We didn't argue-but the price didn't seem to match what we had ordered. We waited in the parking lot for the lobsters to get steamed, and while we were standing there another worker came out and yelled to the people who had just left that they had a deal for 5 soft shells for $35. We felt kind of screwed at that point. Maybe we didn't look like locals, so they thought they would charge more, but i'm from Maine, my sister lives right down the street and I visit often. When we came back in to get our lobsters it took the kid working a minute to figure out which order was ours. We got the bag and got in the car. A second later he comes running out with ANOTHER bag, telling us he gave us the wrong lobsters and switching them. The lobsters themselves were good, but very small for what we were charged. I downgraded my rating because I don't think we will be back after that experience.

Okay!! Seriously! I just got my lobster roll from here on a whim! I drive by this place like a gazillion times! They guy making my lobster roll totally had his back to me making my lobster..I watched him making it to perfection! HOT DAMN when he turned around..He was smoking hot!!! HOLY CRAP! He needs to turn the face around and make those damn lobster rolls..just saying! Anyways, back to the lobster roll..I almost forgot why I came here to Yelp. So, yeah, the lobster roll, Ahm...super buttery..and full of lobster and absolutely huge!!!! I'll definitely be back for the lobster roll.. (and to check out the guy with the eyes behind the counter..just saying!) Sorry to his wife or girlfriend.... :)
(5)christopher b.
I'm still eating my lobster roll as I write this...it's the best...it's HUGE!!!...don't miss this spot!!!
(5)Wunelle E.
Wow, best lobstah roll evah! Roll was perfectly grilled, lobster was fresh and not overpowered by mayo or spices. It really was perfect. We also split the seafood/grilled corn chowder and licked the cup clean. There is beer and wine available and delicious lemon ricotta cookies. We wanted to go back for 2nd visit but ran out of time. 100% recommend and will go back when next in area.
(5)John R.
Toasted buttery bun with lots of lobster is my gold standard of a lobster roll. This one gets my vote for best in the area. We also buy sushi grade salmon here to make salmon ceviche. Parking is behind the building.
(5)Kaitlyn L.
My husband & I were starving and craving lobster rolls and holy christmas was this place amazing! We stumbled into the adorable shop dazed, hungry, and unable to function from the lack of food in our stomachs and we were greeted with the three biggest smiles ever. Okay what? Super clean store. Adorable too. Awesome selection of foods like strawberry rhubarb pies, local milks, and an oyster bar too for your selection ON TOP OF THE AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND WELL PRICED FRESH SEAFOOD. STHAPPP RIGHT! Okay. So then I saw the fudge and the guy behind the counter who I read ON YELP was adorable (and my husband agreed) suggested the butterscotch one. With the inability to use my brain I picked that up too. Then we had to wait for the food. It was so quick and they put smileys on the wrapper. OMG WE LOVE YOU GUYS! Then my husband saw another flavor milk he wanted to try and they let us switch it out. Then we realized I picked up half & half instead of milk and exchanged it for us without so much of a blink! You can bet we put the spare change in their tip jar and agreed to be back tomorrow to try the pineapple and strawberry sushi. Yes I just typed that right. So the food.... Yeah. That deserves 10 stars on its own. We don't prefer cold lobster rolls with mayo UNTIL TODAY. And the clam chowder was enough to make you orgasm. Bravo little shop. Bravo.
(5)Faye L.
The best lobster roll I've ever had, hands down. The meat was the lightest and freshest-tasting lobster--perfectly seasoned--and this is probably the first actual bread roll I loved (seems like grilled buttered brioche). The man working there was so freakin' nice, too. I accidentally broke something in the store and he was so kind about it (refusing my offer to pay). I'd come back to Maine just to eat this again.
(5)Randi R.
Delicious and sweet perfection. We each had a lobster roll and shared a cup of chowder. Everything so yummy. It is a cute little produce and maine store filled with goodies. No place to sit and eat. Take out is the way to go. Enjoy this place
(5)Jen L.
Amazing lobster roll. Not too much mayo and the bread was impeccable. only the highest praise for this place
(5)Kim B.
Lobster rolls are amazing. Freshly made on a buttery roll. Completely satisfying. Crab cake sliders were delish(no filler--all crab)!!
(5)Robert M.
Great place to buy fresh seafood, highly recommended and amazing customer service. I will defiantly keep doing business with them
(5)Bill M.
Love this little market. Two generations of a wonderful family own and run this neighborhood seafood market. They care and it shows. There case is always full of the most gorgeous fish and shellfish you will find anywhere. You never have to worry if the fish is fresh here. As I have said in my check ins this place also has a terrific lobster roll. Fresh never frozen meat served on a lovely bun that has been toasted in butter. The also carry a good selection of beer and wine and a small selection of veggies from area farms.
(5)Don W.
Talk about fresh. I took the swordfish, even though it was almost 2 in the afternoon and it had been in the store since about 11:00. This is amazing stuff and if the fish was any fresher it would still be in the water, but there's much more to Pine Tree than just seafood. They've also got some really good looking produce and a variety of interesting food. I picked up some quinoa and some amazing Fantini bread to go with the swordfish. (Fantini is a bakery in Haverhill, MA and I've really missed their bread). They've also got an interesting selection of beer, wine, sake, and mead. As if that's not enough, they carry the local and highly praised Nonesuch Oysters. I like clams more than oysters, but I hear great things about Nonesuch. While Pine Tree Seafood isn't the fancy temple that many new seafood places are, the place is attractive and spotless, the selection is better than I expected, and the service is fantastically friendly. On my regular trips from Biddeford to Portland, this store is a reason to take Route 1 and not the faster but more hectic 95/295. But a quick tip before you go - the parking lot is around the back and it's easy to drive past the store before you realize it. And if you miss it, it's worth the effort to turn around and go back.
