Saw the place and looked like a nice place to try. 4pm on a Sunday and the place was dead. Like us and one other table dead. 3 of us tried 2 burgers and the open face turkey sandwich. Our burgers lacked taste and seemed dry despite soaking the bun with juices. Turkey sandwich wasnt much more than turkey chunks on toast with cranberry and gravy. Fries and onion rings were good. Waitress offered us the burger special (8oz burger $4.99) but paying for toppings (and ~$1.20 upgrade for onion rings), I think the burgers cost more than the set menu burger. Hmm...

We came here hoping to get a good American meal with some old time flare. The food was bad the ambiance was spot on... Super Cheesey. our waitress told the table next to us she wouldn't recommend the rolls because they have been sitting out for awhile, after we just were handed rolls from her. The lettuce in my chef salad was wilted and brown and the tuna on top was a bad choice. The tuna was somehow magically watery and dry at the same time and tasted near it's expiration date. My husbands cheeseburger was very overcooked. The fries were good, the staff was friendly and it was clean, but I wouldn't return.

The prior establishment was by far superior to what is served now. We've been twice now never to return. The first time expecting the food and service to be as it was or better. It was anything but. Huge change in staff. Items dropped from menu. Slow service, late delivery of food, once they got it right. We were brought others food first. The second time thinking that they were off the first time. Nope that was the new norm. Done. No more visits for us.

We came here when it was the Rock and Roll diner and apparently is now under new management. The food was not any better still mediocre ad priced too high for the quality. The service was good for us but people sitting next to us the waitress was fairly rude to them so the service I would classify is mediocre as well. The top of the seats were also sticky. When you sit in the booth you can put your arm up and that's where it was sticky. I don't think those are getting cleaned. They also added to the decor it was generally 1950/60s type of decor but they added a lot of beer signs that were more modern several Corona, Heineken and Shipyard summer ale signs. Lastly when we were leaving our waitress was sitting at the counter eating breakfast and did not acknowledge we were leaving. This is while she still had several tables in her section where we were sitting. You think they would have them eat in the back? Anyway, we gave it another chance under new management and will likely not be returning.

1950's style diner with bland, mediocre food... it really was not good! I don't think I'd go back even if it was free.

The minute we walked in we had a feeling something was off. We sat down and they handed us the menu which has a small breakfast section on the back. No eggs benedict at a diner? Basically your choices are eggs, egg omelette or pancakes. Sausage paddy's are of McDonald's quality. Eggs were ok. Coffee and water was gross. Other than that I would have rather had a donut from a drive thru.

I love the original Blast From The Past in Waterboro. So I decided to try this one and I will never go back. When we were seated, there was a tray of dirty plates on our table. The hostess picked them up and sat us there. . .without washing the table. Upon closer inspection there were bugs in the salt. The menu was exactly the same as the original restaurant, so I ordered the baked haddock. Over a half hour later I was served an over cooked, bland piece of fish. I only ate it because our server never returned to ask how the food was because she was busy getting dealing with a family who was also unhappy. My father's shrimp were so over cooked, they were practically like rubber and very flavorless also. The atmosphere was great but the wait was too long for such awful food, considering there were three cooks in the kitchen.

Diner atmosphere but not decent diner quality. First diner i know without breakfast all day. They stop all breakfast at 1 pm. Atmosphere was as good as the food - so-so. I guess if you are stuck for lunch (as we were) you can try it but expect and accept mediocrity.

Everything was actually pretty good - until I found part of one of their scrub pads in my food and they offered to take $1.00 off my meal! Really not good customer service since we will never return. Just insulting and plain old bad business.

I had dinner at Blast From The Past Too Diner (former Rock N Roll Diner), under new ownership, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This retro style 1950s diner is a "blast from the past" which has a colorful Rock-Ola jukebox bopping out classic hits, black & white checkerboard floors, shiny red/white vinyl seating (booths, tables, & lunch counter stools), and classic prints on the walls (US Route 66, Pepsi Cola, Shell Gas, Mountain Dew, Corona, Elvis, Betty Boop, & more). The place also has an outside patio (warmer weather), but there were no tables outside at the time of this review in March. Similar to the menu offerings at Blast From The Past (Waterboro), the menu here offers the standard breakfast fare including eggs, omelettes, pancakes, Texas French toast, waffles, crepes, biscuits & gravy, breakfast sandwiches, hash (served daily until 1PM), soups, salads, chili, burgers (1/2 lb Angus Beef), hot dogs, Lisa's Pizza (10"-14"), sandwiches, wraps, subs, lobster rolls, entrees (pasta, seafood, steak, chicken, comfort foods), desserts (pies, cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, ice cream treats), shakes, floats, Pepsi fountain drinks, and $3.99 kids menu (under 12). The specials offered were salmon pie with egg sauce, fish & chips, reubens, turkey dinner (Sundays only), Oreo pie, and more. The prices are reasonable with most items priced under $11. The most expensive entrees were the Fried Haddock & Shrimp Combo ($14.99) and 1/2 lb Lazy Man Lobster - Seasonal ($24.95). Beer & wine served here. On Tuesdays, seniors get 50 percent off entree with purchase of beverage. I was promptly seated when I arrived here around 5:00 PM on a Saturday. The place was not that busy and I was seated in a comfortable booth. For dinner, I ordered the Country Fried Steak Special ($7.79, normally $9.99), which included two sides (I chose mashed potatoes with gravy & cole slaw). This special is very popular! I was given a dinner roll with butter, which was fresh baked hot and very good. The waitress also offered me another fresh baked dinner roll too. As for the dinner (right size portions), the country fried steak was hot and crispy with soft tender beef inside, topped with a creamy white gravy. The mashed potatoes were soft and smooth with small potato chunks, hot brown gravy on the side. The cole slaw (cabbage & carrots) was sweet and creamy. I passed on the offer for dessert since I had just enough food. The total check with tax and before tip was $8.41. Overall, the food I had was very good. The service here was prompt, friendly, and attentive. I would eat here again!

Mediocre diner food. The staff was pushy and rushed us to order. We got some free dinner rolls which helps. However, it absolutely didn't make up for my water and chicken sandwich. The wait staff had to come back to clarify simple things and did that to multiple partons while we ate. We had to ask to get our water refilled. Clearly run by a group of teenagers without much experience. We won't come back unfortunately.

Went here for breakfast excited to have some good old fashioned American breakfast. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess and sat promptly. The restaurant was clean and the menu looked great. The first red flag was that they were advertising "pumpkin spice" and "vanilla" cappuccinos from a machine. I'm not a coffee snob, but if you're going to offer espresso at a diner, then at least do it properly. I asked the server if the corned beef hash was homemade--no. The sausage gravy? No. The baked beans? No. Growing more and more disappointed I decided to keep it simple and ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, and homefries. My boyfriend ordered crepes. Both meals were terrible. Everything tasted like it had been microwaved. The crepes were soggy and chewy and the fruit topping was microwaved sugary mush. Even my homefries and bacon were prepackaged and tasted awful. This place only gets the one star because the server was prompt, friendly, and kept our coffee mugs filled. It's too bad because the location and building really have potential if they put half the effort into the food as they do the decor. TL;DR Even Denny's is better than this place.

Lunch at the diner this weekend was just what we needed. Open-face turkey sandwich with gravy comes with a side of cranberries, plus my side choice of baked beans. Turkey was all white meat and fresh. Gravy was tasty and not salty. Daughter had mushroom burger with cheddar cheese and fries. Burger was done perfectly and was juicy. Thick cut (fresh cut) fries could have been crispier, but we still enjoyed them. Service was great and, of course, atmosphere was bright and fun with juke box playing oldies in the background. We'll go back again!
